    Chirashi
    Mike L.

My dogs' vet is in the same complex as Yo Sushi, I went over a decade ago so not sure if it is the same ownership/management. One Saturday afternoon I was in the area and I decided to give them a try. At sushi places I like to order a Chirashi, which is mixed raw fish/sashimi over seasoned sushi rice. It came with a soup and salad. The staff brought it out in a reasonable amount of time. The Chirashi was good, the fish was fresh and it was presented well. It was a reasonable price of sushi, I would be suspicious about super cheap sushi and especially raw fish. I had it with a Sapporo beer which really hit the spot. There were people ordering takeout and there was seating inside. I dined in. There are lot of sushi restaurants in the area, but since I already come here when taking my dogs to the vet, maybe I'll work a lunch break into my plans.

First time for late lunch Isolated and quiet even though it's close to the road Clean and simple layout, pretty pictures, themed Rice was seasoned and sashimi was really good Portions fairly portion for its price Service was quick and friendly Will be coming back

Two items 2 Item Special Bento Box

I came here for lunch and ordered the two-item special lunchbox. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed after spending nearly $23 on food that tasted stale and old. The spider roll was extremely dry and unappetizing, almost as if it had been sitting out for a day or two. I couldn't even finish the meal. This used to be one of my go-to lunch spots, but after this experience, I've definitely lost confidence in the quality. Honestly, I feel like I deserve a refund for the meal.

Ask for extra dressing what did you guys do? Split one into 2 cups do better please

What's wrong with y'all? Are you OK? this don't make any kind of sense. did you split one full into 2 halves and call it "extra dressing?" next time i will order extra extra extra dressing.

Came here for lunch. Got the chicken teriyaki lunch special and it was okay for the price. It would've been nice if they were sliced bigger. The service is friendly. The ambiance is casual with music in the background. Maybe will give this place a try again to try the other sushi rolls.

Chicken bland. Super small portion of rice, no edamame like the other bento. Fish is overcooked

We got takeout from this restaurant, and it is definitely one of the more underwhelming restaurants I've been to. To start, we got 2 bento's. One bento had a much larger plop of rice and had edamame. The other was barely 5 bites of rice and mo edamame. Both bento's had chicken and was bland and dry, no char whatsoever. The beef is really really.... REALLY bad. One of the worst I've had. It's paper thin, and virtually no salt or seasoning. And for 17-18 dollar bento's, it is a very small quantity of food. I've been to higher quality Japanese restaurants that charge nearly the same price, but quality of the beef is real sirloin steak. The maki is decent, but everything else we had was a huge disappointment. I'm compelled to write this because I was hungry and Japanese food is my favorite cuisine but this didn't sit well... And I'm still hungry.

This is a pretty cool sushi restaurant with a huge sushi roll menu. The largest I have ever seen IMHO. Its location though seems a little isolated and business seems to be slow for the lunch hour even though service was pretty fast and professional. Parking is more than ample. We ordered a poke bowl, miso soup, Tataki sashimi appetizer, edamame, a couple of maki rolls (I forgot what was ordered) and a kani sunomono appetizer. The restaurant itself was fairly simple with lots of picture of the maki rolls on the wall. I think it is a nice restaurant to visit at least once. The only item we ordered that was subpar was the miso soup which is normally true for many Japanese restaurants.

She also recommended the wonton and some cucumbers but we ended up just getting the wonton in addition to the noodles. About 15 seconds after we got our menus, that one of the servers was hovering over us. We were trying to make our decision but she would just not leave us alone, and kept pointing out options. It felt more like pressure than anything. Once we ordered the food came fairly quickly. The wings were incredibly flavorful, I'd order again in a heartbeat. The dumplings were delicious. My biggest complaint was how pushy the server was. I wanted to leave but I thought my niece wanted to stay so I didn't say anything. While we were leaving my niece said she was very uncomfortable there, but didn't want to say anything. The food was delicious, but we both agreed we'd probably order delivery next time. Our in person experience was just too unpleasant.

I've been here a few times and one time the owner or cook came up to our table to recommend some items and talk about the type of food he serves. They're very nice people and very generous, especially when I came by on a slow Wednesday for a solo dinner and I was pretty hungry so I ordered a few new dishes I haven't tried before. I ordered the spicy tingly beef noodle soup, the lamb in sauce dumplings, and the ruo jia mo stewed pork slider and I was also offered a bit of their liang pi cold noodle on the house which I commend on them for going beyond their service and hospitality. The noodle soup was presented so well and the dumplings sauce was so good that I poured some into my broth for extra flavor. The slider was so moist and fresh, juice was literally dripping off each bite and the cucumbers in it gave it a good crunchy texture. In the end I would come back anytime and order the same and perhaps try their malatang!

This is a fast place, table sharing, no room having place. If you're looking for a western style dining, it can become overwhelming. But, just embrace the speed and efficiency of this restaurant. Because once you are seated, you're served immediately to get you on the way. With service, don't expect tier 1 experience, but you'll get your water/tea. Savor it, don't assume they'll come back while you're still eating. Just saying! There's a few things on the menu that are must have.. 1. Chow Jew Ho Fun with soup on the side - the obvious that everyone orders. I like to get soup on the side, and then put about two tablespoons soup back into my noodle and add all the sauces! Then occasionally, sip the soup to wash everything down. 2. Beef Stew Ho Fun - My boyfriend's must have. Flavorful, soft meat, delicious. 3. Fish Cakes - Personally, I don't care for fish cakes, but my boyfriend and his family order it all the time, so of course I'll still eat it. It's still good. I'm just a person who feels I can buy it from the banh mi shops and it taste the same. Lol I don't eat anything else here. This is one of those restaurants where you go and eat what they're known for, not wander off too far away from the menu because the other stuff is just legit filler items. The only problem I have is, it's so expensive now for a small bowl. So it makes me not want to come back, but at the same time, flavors are really good. You just would think with the amount of customers, the business thriving, you could at least keep the portion size the same as before..

Between our group, we got Sakoo, Nam Khao, Fried Clear Rice Roll Wraps, Sai Oua (Lao Sausages), Crispy Pork Belly, Pad Kee Mao, and a large side of Sticky Rice. Of the dishes, the Nam Khao was a standout favorite for me. I loved how crispy and crunchy the fried rice was in the dish. There were so many layers of flavors and textures from the fish sauce, the peanuts, and the fermented sour pork. If there's one dish you must order when you stop by here, it's this one. Another dish I really enjoyed was the Sai Oua; I get this dish whenever I see it at restaurants. Although I've had Lao sausages which were very heavy in lemongrass flavor, the ones here did not have the same flavor profile. Instead, the ones here leaned more towards the spicy side. The crispy pork belly was another standout dish for me. If you enjoy Filipino lechon or Cantonese siu yuk, this is another must-order dish. The pork is well seasoned and has the perfect ratio of lean to fatty parts. Overall, I had wonderfully delicious meal. I would certainly recommend coming as a large group so you're able to order a wide variety of dishes. If you're looking for something to really excite your taste buds, head over to Bhan Mae Vane.
