The food is decent, never had issues with their food. However, waited for 45 minutes yesterday for a $43 order (nothing customized and ordered in person). NOT once did anyone tell us there would be a delay. And not once did anyone apologize. All that was told was there was only one Chef on shift--not my problem. As we left out the door I said "thank you"--no one said "you're welcome" so I replied loudly "You're welcome!!!" Gave my name & number for the Manager to call me. Wonder how long it's going to take for staff to relay the message and if they even bother to relay the message. The bush roll looks nothing like the pic. Had NO salmon inside and tasted only of oil. Disgusting. The hot mama looks nothing like the picture either. Staff accept orders at a cash register and being food out to customers, and this restaurant is self-bussing and has a self-serve water dispenser. Depending on the time you come, the volume in the restaurant may vary, but has not been too loud when I come to the restaurant. The inside is nice and clean, but small and the restroom is outside. The food was really good! For $16 I got an extremely filling meal included with salad and soup. I always like that this restaurant provides lots of pickled vegetables with some meals. The only thing that I wish is that the locations had more consistent menus, as the Vallejo and Fairfield menus do not have all the same items. Highly recommend and will be returning! read more

This review is for their take-out Tonkatsu ramen! There really aren't any good ramen places in Fairfield and I decided to give Yo Sushi's ramen a try since I was craving it. And it wasn't bad!! It definitely was not ramen nagi quality but it was still pretty decent. The noodles seemed like top ramen noodles. The broth was tasty and not too salty. The pork was delicious too. It's crazy how much UberEats overcharges at this place... But my work was covering for most of it, so I was down and only had to pay a few bucks. The price of a nine-piece nigiri entree is $14.95, which wouldn't be so bad if the quality was better... But since I paid $5 it was fine. The tako (octopus) and ika (squid) were a bit chewy, but I made it through. Yo Sushi has been around for most of my years growing up here and I honestly didn't try it until later in life (post-high school when I actually enjoyed sushi...) and to be honest, it is not too memorable from the few times I've had it in the past. When we lived in Fairfield, CA. This was our "go to" Sushi spot. We frequented here. The restaurant was conveniently located nearby our old house, approximately half a mile away. We've tried several sushi's, bento boxes and they're all delicioso!! I tried the udon soup and it was not good as the noodles were hard and tasted old.Therefore, I never ordered again. I was less than 3 miles away, so I headed in over to 1430 N. Texas St. Fairfield CA. I pulled in and immediately thought that they were closed. Windows very dark. If I hadn't seen a woman walk up and open the front door, I would've drove off. I walk in to retrieve my order. It has just come up, I heard the cook say. I was like YES, YES, Yesssss in my spirit. I knew it would be piping hot. Paid, Tipped and left. Got back to my hotel under 10 minutes. Food was still HIT. I gave them 5 stars because of the portion size. This is way more food than I can consume in a few sittings. I ate off this plate 3 times today including the miso soup. Everything was seasoned well. I am very pleased with this location. I must say Yo Sushi has some of the best, freshest sushi out here! It does not compare to the east coast. This is my go to place whenever I have a sushi craving. I enjoy how flavorful each roll is. When I say fresh I mean fresh tasting and looking. Comparable to the sushi I've had in Hawaii. Also, the rice is cooked to perfection. Service is always quick if you call in. I've been going to Yo Sushi for over 6 years. Food was always great, and the service was fast. Sad to say, they must have changed owners because it's exactly the opposite. I tried to place an online order, but the website wasn't working. It asked me to confirm pickup time, and then the screen would freeze. I decided to call in my order at 6:30pm. They told be it would be about 30mins. I arrived at 7pm ( 30mins later), and my food wasn't ready. The guy told me about 5 more minutes. I stood there for 45mins! I watched people walk in, order , and leave over and over again. I asked how much longer because my 12month old son and husband had been sitting in the car this entire time. I ordered my food at 6:30pm and didn't get my food til 7:45pm. Being a new mom, I need things to be quick, I thought this order would be a quick easy grab and go dinner like usual. But sadly, it was 45mins of standing and watching a bunch of orders pile up. The cherry on top it all, was the food quality was poor. My husband's Chicken Katsu was dry and burnt black. We ordered 4 sushi rolls that didn't seem fresh, and were very watery. Unfortunately, ill have to say my good-bye to this place. We won't be returning. I'm highly disappointing with my last three visits. Last visit ended up discarding one of my rolls all together and half of the other one. Wasn't fresh and had a (non healthy fishy) taste and smell to it. I get sick real easily if food isn't stored correctly or prepared correctly. Having gotten sick plenty of times I've learned to distinguish the smells and taste that will normally result in a few days of issues and maybe a hospital visit. Therefore didn't risk it and just got rid of it. The time before this didn't have the smell but overall the quality of the rolls had declined. I've reviewed Yo Sushi in the past. I'm back in town this weekend and was craving sushi. So I went to my old "Go To" place even thou the last time was a poor experience. So here it goes, We ordered 5 rolls and 2 salads. Upon arrival my wife told the employee about the last time we got a take out order and how we didn't receive salad dressing for our salads as ordered. She even told the cashier how it was a total let down as we crave their peanut salad dressing. Guess what? This time they didn't give us our salads. However, we did get the dressing this time. My wife called them to explain what occurred. The gal on the phone said she didn't know how to give refund. How is that possible? Employee training clearly needs some work. The sushi was okay. Again, not up to the standard for which I'm accustomed from Yo Sushi. I've ordered from this place on at least 50 occasions. The plastic container had some sort of fluid at the bottom making the sushi soggy. The sushi broke apart as I tried to pick it up. Even when I used my hands. This was a disappointment. It made it hard to enjoy what I had ordered. I'm not sure what happened but this place is not the quality for which it has been known. Ok so I think I'm in love with this place! Let me start by saying I love sushi. Yes I do! All kinda: veggie, raw fish, baked. I love it all and Yo Sushi has it all! They have introduced me to some new kinds of sushi. If your adventurous or a sushi newbie I'd recommend Yo sushi. They also have some interesting drinks. There is out door seating, which is helpful during these times. They allow a limited amount of people in doors when ordering. I've gotten the platter which I share with three other people. You can either pay exact amount in cash or pay with credit card. Then they give you a buzzer to let you know when your order is ready. Then when we got our food and on our way to sharetea. The soup exploded and spilled all over the bag! So then we called yo sushi telling them the cheap container broke and spilled because the soup was on the bottom and the noodle was on top. Ample parking Cheaper priding than most , great service. This is a small place with outside seating. I ordered the agedashi tofu (8.50) which is a tad pricey - good flavor. 6 pieces , actually 3 because they cut ithe small square tofu in half. I also ordered their bento box w salmon (perfectly cooked) and tempura. ( veggies w 1 shrimp only ) I saved the shrimp for last but was disappointed. The shrimp was so small and mushy.
