It was accompanied by a single patty, shredded lettuce, tomato, bacon, relish, mayo and pickles. The saltiness of the pickles helped highlight the flavors of the burger. The tater tots were fried to a perfect golden brown. When you bite into them, there is a nice crunch. The outside searing was nice and open. The sides were decorated with gorgeous hanging baskets and potted flowers. Service was friendly and quick. If you're looking for a great burger, this is your place. read more

This place is a outdoor eating or take out only as there's no indoor seating. They do great moving the line along as they get busy, recommend going before or after lunch when it's not crowded. Ordered mushrooms (breaded) and curly fries, brought memories back from my favorite diner. You do have to ask for code for restroom which is frustrating when you have to go really bad especially when you drove for hours and want food, that's the only negative for me as it be a problem quick for little kids that can't wait (I do respect why there's lock for restrooms but a major pro and con scenario) read more

Been coming here for 50 years, just not too often-usually after a hike to Stuart/Colchuck/Asgaard. Married now w/family so usually fancier fare w/family. Walk up to order only. The staff was pleasant and by the time I had paid for the order she was handing me my milkshake. I only stopped to buy one milkshake. The menu look like they had a good selection of different types of hamburgers. I was there rather late and I was the only customer until I was ready to leave and two more people walked up to order. Favorite stop on our way to Chelan. I've been coming to Heidleburger since I was a child (so 40+ years) and it's always been amazing. Fell off for a couple years (fries were crinkle cut, burgers not as deliciously semi greasy) but that was during Covid years so I think maybe was just supply chain/staffing/whatever issues so many places faced. We stop on our way to & from Chelan every time and it always hits. Directly across from our inn (Icicle Village Resort), Heidelburger was a no-brainer when looking for a quick dinner for the kids who would remain behind in the hotel, while Mom and Dad went back into town for a birthday party with friends at the local dive bar. I'd been wanting to try this place out every year we'd been to Leavenworth before, and somehow never made it, until this year. Taking a bite of one of the kids' burgers to satisfy my own curiosity quickly made me a return customer: juicy, meaty, cooked just right, and no overly seasoned or slathered in condiments. The fries were a little under-salted for my taste (and one of the kids), but everyone else disagreed. But that doesn't matter: the burger is the real star of the show, and it's deserves its place on the marquee! We ended up taking a bag of burgers to-go, to sustain us on our five hour drive back to Portland, and having enjoyed them so much, I'm a little sad that I won't be able to have another until next year's Christmas trip. We were excited since we seen people here everytime we passed by but honestly wouldn't come try again. The service was good the worker was nice, as well as the restrooms. Ice cream through the roof!! Not literally but we love a beautiful soft serve cone piled high. The shakes were too sweet, but the cone was worth it. On a hot summer day, they have the misters going. Heidleburger was RIGHT across from Icicle Village, where we were staying so we tried it out. It DID NOT DISAPPOINT! In the outskirt of downtown Leavenworth, this burger joint is so fantastic! I ordered take out: one double Heli bacon burger for my husband and I to split, and a side of deep fried mushrooms and onion rings. Husband was so impressed, that he wanted me to go back a few hours later for dinner and order an entire burger for him! Patties were great quality with all the fixings. Customer service was stellar! They also have a covered area to eat, complete with misters (for the summer) and heaters (for the winter). Busy, but only waited about 20 min each time for our orders. Valley Cafe was our favorite burger place in Leavenworth and we always made sure to stop by their amazing and consistent burgers. But we found out that they were permanently closed and we were sorely disappointed to learn the news. While we were scrambling to find another burger place (can you tell we had to have burgers?) in the same vicinity, we came across Heidleburger Drive-In. We were in leavenworth for the alpine coaster ride and Heidleburger was within a stone's throw. Time to check out a new burger! Parking was ample and they had outdoor seating only. It was a pretty hot day but the all the tables had built-in umbrellas and once inside the shades, the mountain breeze kept us cool. It reminded me of the tradewinds in Hawaii that kept us cool even during summer. Ordering was easy and we got cheeseburgers and hamburgers with onion rings and French fries with their popular fry sauce. Food was great, not as great as our old favorite Valley Cafe, which also had indoor dining area, but we still enjoyed their food, friendly service, and eating burgers with the beautiful Bavarian setting in the backdrop. read more

Came here for something quick and easy and it was near our hotel. This is THE MOST disappointing food I've ever eaten. The shredded lettuce is not crisp and very wilted, the chicken in the chicken sandwich wasn't real chicken, it's like the chicken patty's you get on the cheap sandwiches from Wendy's . The curly fries taste like Arby's. It looks like this place just goes and buys frozen food from Walmart, fries it and sells it for a complete markup. I spent 33.00 for a single chipotle burger, ranch fried chicken sandwich, curly fry, and one soda. My daughter said the soda was the best part. You also get charged .75/ sauce (aside from ketchup). No indoor seating, there's some tables under a patio with heaters overhead but the tables are still cold on your bum! Overall, I'd skip this place, it was incredibly disappointing and lacking. I came here looking for a quick dinner on a Sunday evening around 6pm. There were only a few people at the order window and after ordering my food was ready quickly in about 5-10 minutes. I got two cheeseburgers, one large curly fries, and a couple fry sauces. The large curly fries were enough to split among two people, and both cheeseburgers were large and filling. When I went and asked for the other drink the attitude was not our fault, not our fault I read it back to you, basically they wouldn't take that they made a mistake to what the customer wanted and didn't provide a receipt for us either. Your basic run of the mill fast food local cheeseburger stop. The Kodiak burger with bacon and ham was good but the patties are paper thin. My husband did the crispy chicken ranch burger, it was yummy! I liked the breading on it. The kids meal cheeseburger only comes with ketchup and mustard, not one veggie. My son's corn dog was a basic one that you buy frozen in a bag at Walmart it cost almost $7. They have outdoor seating in the winter with heaters above you, that helps since there is no indoor seating and we didn't want to eat in the car. At the end all of this cost us $90. Been wanting to try this drive-in for years, but haven't wanted to stand in the usual line. One day the stars aligned with hunger pangs, summer heat, and automobile problems so we stopped in. Didn't expect the prices to be so high, though it is in a major tourist destination so maybe we should have expected that. Parking is so much easier than downtown proper, I think this is one of the highlights of the place -- simply accessible -- just pull over and get in the line. 4.5 stars. I like going to drive-ins and this one has such a funny name that I had to stop here when I was in Leavenworth. I'm 94% sure that it's a play on the name of the German town of Heidelberg, but the different spelling of Heidel and Heidle makes me wonder. Anyways, still clever! My usual drive-in order (if it's offered on the menu) is a fish sandwich and curly fries, which they had! I ordered that plus a soda (they only have pepsi products) and paid with credit card. I think I waited over 10 minutes for my food and it wasn't particularly busy. There's a nice covered area with seating to eat. The fish sandwich was pretty good and so were the curly fries (got lots of good curls!). Plenty of parking, friendly staff, and clean restrooms (you need to get the code from the cashier). The fries were your standard, but the o-rings extra crispy and yummy. The shake was super thick, with large strawberry chunks. I'd read a previous review to skip the shakes here, but I'll have to disagree...we loved ours. Was it the best burger or drive-in experience of my life? Was in town on vacation, and my brother pointed out this place , so we decided to stop and try it. A lot of the menu sounds delicious and it smelt really good so making a choice was really hard! I eventually decided on the Chipotle chicken sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was nice and juicy, fresh veggies, and the Chipotle sauce had a nice little kick to it. Not mad but would never come back : I have to truly admit this is pretty bland, It's not bad but it's also not good. Really nothing to write home about. I'm sure they price a little higher because it's in a vacation town. But there's a burger restaurant here in Leavenworth that is priced the same called 'Gustav's' just down the road. they are far better ( had them last time I was here ) i'd say go to that spot. We come up to Leavenworth about once per year, and every time we're up here we drive by this place at least three or four times. We were up for a random Monday and decided it was time to stop in. The place is classic American drive-in with the requisite Bavarian charm given the location. They have the standard fare including plenty of burger options, fries, onion rings and plenty of different types of shakes and malts. It looked like they had a few additional food options, but when you come to a drive-in, you should be getting a burger! We had a Heli burger which is their way of saying it has bacon on it. The single Heli cheeseburger was a good size, had a good amount of meat and cheese, and some decent bacon. I will say, that this appeared to be microwaved bacon and we have become accustom to delicious thick cut bacon when presented with it on a burger. It's a small thing, but in the game of beef patties and cheese, the thickness of the bacon matters! The shakes looked very good, but we didn't have one as we had already eaten lunch by the time we got here. Everything was the price you would expect and the folks working here we're all very nice. The place was a life-changing, but overall it was very good and definitely the sore spot that you would stop for burgers on the way back from rafting or a hike. Well worth your time! read more

They have a little outdoor patio where you can eat and although it's close to the road, it's not as loud as you might imagine.
