Stopped in here after a long weekend with a group of five, including three super hungry children. We were seated promptly and our food arrived quickly. Almost all of us had a form of enchiladas and all of us devoured of plates. It was good and it hit the spot. While I considered it to be just a standard good enchilada, the kiddos couldn't stop raving about how it was the best they had ever had. Maybe they were just that hungry or maybe it genuinely was, but either way, we all left happy and full.
Los Camperos was the perfect choice for our very last dinner in Leavenworth. We were craving Mexican food, and after seeing solid reviews on Yelp, we decided to give it a try and I'm so glad we did. Quick heads-up before you go: the restaurant is upstairs and does not have an elevator, so it may not be ideal for anyone using a mobility chair or who has difficulty with stairs. Once we arrived, we were seated immediately and jumped right into the menu. We both ordered the House Margaritas, and wow oh so good. Smooth, refreshing, and just what we needed to kick off the meal. For food, I ordered the Carne Asada, which came with your choice of flour or corn tortillas, rice, fresh guacamole, pico de gallo, and a beautifully grilled skirt steak. Everything on the plate was delicious. The steak was well seasoned, tender, and easy to cut, while the pico de gallo and guacamole tasted incredibly fresh. Wrapping everything up in a warm flour tortilla created the perfect bite. It was simple, flavorful, and so satisfying. My cousin went with the Enchiladas Rojas with ground beef, and she rated it a 5 out of 5. Outstanding! High praise, and judging by how quickly her plate disappeared, I believe it. We finished the night with Fried Ice Cream, which was the perfect sweet ending. Crispy on the outside, cold and creamy on the inside. This definitely topped off the meal and left us stuffed but very happy. Would I recommend Los Camperos? 100% absolutely. Fast service, friendly staff, and food that comes out quickly and delivers on flavor. A fantastic way to end our Leavenworth trip.
I wish I had tried more food! This is in downtown Leavenworth so there's tons of places to eat and try. Did not want to leave without trying a Michelada. It was good! Right on the spot. Salsa was homemade and it was spicy enough. We also had a Paloma and it was great. The wait was short and all the waiters were helpful and attentive. Can't wait to come by and try the food.
More traditional Mexican but grab your wallet! It's up a steep pair of stairs......chips and salsa, ordered Fajitas, steak, a little over seasoned, but good veggies..,,,, small side "Cadillac margaritas" single was $18 and my double was $23! Fajitas were $28 and could not split steak/chicken or? Just straight steak or chicken or pork..hmmm.
We came here for dinner and had a good time. The service was very fast and we got chips and salsa pretty quickly after our arrival. One bummer about this spot is that if you want more than the initial chips and salsa offering, there is an additional charge per order. The chips and salsa were very tasty but the price definitely made us not want seconds. I got the chimichanga and it was like all cheese. The ground beef in it was tasty and I wish there was more of it. This spot did satisfy my craving but I don't think I'll be running back next time I am in Leavenworth.
Visiting from Texas and enjoy spot with good Mexican food. It's not Tex-Mex, it's Wa-Mex. Have visited before and made it a regular spot to visit after our first time. We sat outside as we did before as the views and weather are incredible and the ambiance outside is peaceful and enjoyable on a late Thursday afternoon. We were brought a pickled cabbage, salsa and chips. The salsa was extra spicy and delicious. Chips crunchy. Just as they should both be. The pickled cabbage was a change up and enjoyable. I ordered the house margarita, simple yet the tequila was te-kill-ya-ing. Flavor was standard & had flavor and after a couple of sips I was already feeling lively. The queso is not on the menu, but can be ordered, it is 3 cheeses and includes Velveeta. It had a distinct taste almost like beer or wine mixed and when I asked confirmed it did use wine to break it down. Was told I was the first person to recognize that in the queso. It was not my favorite as it tasted a bit bitter & not cheesy. Like too much wine was used, think less wine may have made it better. For the entree, I opted for the Enchiladas Rojas with shredded chicken, served with beans, rice and pickled cabbage. The shredded chicken had a savory flavor to it along with their signature enchilada sauce. It was good all around. Olga, my server, and I talked and shared stories in Spanish. She was extremely friendly, conversational and gave me a brief history of being from Jalisco, her family owned business & on the 30 years they've been Leavenworth longest Mexican restaurant. I would suggest when possible to sit outside, the sun may be beaming depending where you sit, but it's worth the beautiful weather (visited in September) and the tranquil atmosphere.
We thought Mexican would be a safe bet. We have eaten nachos everywhere from the Caribbean to Hawaii. Most recently we had some similar priced brisket nachos in Oregon. We started our order with some house chips and salsa. Beware, the salsa is on the hot side, which I'm certain many people will enjoy. We ordered chicken nachos and asked whether they could hold any added onions. The server stated that would be no problem. The nachos arrived quickly and based on presentation looked good. Unfortunately, green and while onions were scattered on top. We're use to this on nachos and accepted the challenge to remove them - which was no problem. We started digging into the nachos which was a bit confusing. Basically, you end up with a layer of chips, some kind of beans (that taste like a can of country beans), some jalapenos, cheese and onions. And, some sour cream and guacamole. After a few bites, it was obvious the food wasn't worth the calories. We asked for our check, which was quickly provided. The server never bothered to inquire about our experience or the food. Long story short - these were terrible nachos! Don't waste your time and $20. Overall, no flavor. And, my wife kept describing the beans as "country" style beans.
This is a regular stop for us in Leavenworth. Over the years they have scaled back considerably. It was still clean inside but it's looked the same for decades. It could use some updating. The menu is now one laminated page instead of the book they used to have. One thing they did not scale back was prices. I understand Leavenworth is a tourist Mecca so price gouging is the norm. We were taken care of by both owners. They are very nice. You can tell it's a family operation. The food was decent but definitely not up where it used to be. Next trip we might skip this restaurant. Something was off this trip. I can't really say what but the visit just fell flat. Even my old lady mentioned that and she is a staunch fan of this place. I don't know maybe it just felt tired this time around. It was after 6pm and we were the only patrons until we were about to leave. We won't put Los Camperos on the "pay no mind list" but it'll be a while before we return.

After eating sausages for 3 meals, we needed a switcheroo and selected this place. It didn't let us down. Us 2 Senior Citizens were able to order off their kids/senior menu. Initially, we had planned to split a meal since we didn't want to take any leftovers. Their kids/seniors menu allowed us both to eat what we each wanted without having to compromise. In the end, we spent about the same amount of money and enjoyed it more. That's the definition of a win-win scenario. Senior citizens with smaller appetites, this is the menu meant for us. And it was so darn tasty. I thought the drinks were overpriced a tad but the beer prices were reasonable. read more
Stopped in and found the place to be a cool retreat on a HOT SUMMER day. I hear the owners have been her for 30+ years. Olga was our server and she was welcoming and kind. The portions are large and the salsa is HOT. I love the style of the restaurant, and I appreciate how open it is. This place was so amazing! The food was so tasty and was like homemade. The service was excellent and friendly. I highly recommend this place it was so GOOD and authentic. When in Leavenworth Washington this place is a MUST try!! read more

Found this gem while walking the side streets in Leavenworth. The restaurant is upstairs and has a great view of the mountains and side street for people watching. We were immediately greeted and seated in a booth and given instructions to use our phone's QR code for menu. We were brought salsa and chips with a cabbage slaw type appetizer along with a pitcher of water to munch on while we browsed the menu. Salsa was delicious, chips warm and the cabbage slaw was amazing with both. Lots of really good looking items to choose from. I ordered cheese enchiladas with the mole, rice and beans. He had the taco/chicken enchilada, rice and beans plate with a chile relleno on the side. Food was good. The mole on my enchiladas was a little to sweet for me, but I understand everyone makes this mole a little different. His taco was crunchy and really tasty. Our favorite was the relleno. It was huge, light and fluffy with a great smoky taste. He also had a jalapeño margarita and a mango margarita which he said were amazing! Our server was really nice and attentive and helpful when questioned about the menu. Definitely a place we will be returning to! read more

I wanted to like this place. I did like the elderly gentleman who served us. But this is an absolute "no". It was loud, screaming kids and anything but enjoyable. Food was a 1. Atmosphere a 1. Service a 3. If you are staying at the Post Hotel, do not even think of going here. Dreadful, while harsh, is the truth. read more
My three positives and a negative because the world needs more positivity: + the salsa is el fuego! Seriously perfection. Hubby was sweating + my combination dish was loaded with flavor. We were hanging out in Leavenworth and wanted something different than the normal German sausage, burgers, or pizza that are so prevalent there, so when we walked by this place we figured we'd give it a try. You have to walk upstairs to get to it, which isn't abnormal for Leavenworth. We went at about 3:30, so it wasn't busy. We were seated right away and brought chips, salsa, and a cabbage slaw, which somewhat resembled a salvadorean curtido. The chips were hot and fresh, the salsa was good, but oh, that slaw! It was amazing! Crunchy, spicy, full of flavor! My husband ordered the carne asada burrito, my daughter got the kids ground beef enchilada, and I decided on the camarones a la diabla (spicy shrimp). I normally shy away from this item in restaurants because I like it very spicy, and I find that sometimes places tend to add sweetness instead of spice, which ruins the whole dish for me. But since the slaw and salsa had a kick, I figured I'd give it a shot. The waitress asked if I wanted medium spicy or full spicy, and I wanted alllll the heat I was not disappointed! In fact, it might have even been a little too spicy, which is saying something for me. Tears were rolling down my face, but it was so freaking good. And they made it with mushrooms, which was a nice twist. I will say, I'll probably order medium spicy next time, though, because they do not play. My daughter cleaned her plate! And she eats like a bird, so that shows how much she enjoyed it. She did have the common courtesy to tell me that my enchiladas were still her favorite, but after seeing the speed with which she conquered her plate, I have my doubts. At least I'm raising her right. Lol. My husband loved his burrito, and we all agreed the rice and beans were phenomenal. If you love spice, full flavors, and traditional Mexican cooking, don't pass the place up next time you're in Leavenworth! It's definitely worth it! read more

The place is nice;) The service good, I liked the older gentleman, kind heart:). The food was just ok, not too flavorful, by no means great. The meat was a bit "juicy" and soaked everything. Yep, that kinda food. Where you eat it because you know it won't kill ya.... But have no desire to go back. read more

We wandered in without a reservation on Sunday night and were immediately greeted by a friendly host and seated quickly. There were lots of items to choose from including lots of different margarita flavors. The enchiladas verdes were yummy and satisfying, slightly tangy. The veggie burrito was big and easily shared. Cute little spot that's family friendly or nice for a date, and really great service! read more
