This lower review is first for the staff. We walked in about 8pm on May 23rd and it seemed no one was there. Then two young girls walked out continuing their inappropriate conversation about hooking up with another employee. These two girls were not there to work, and should have stopped having their personal conversation when customers walked in. Things were not replenished. Yogurt was too soft. I don't trust they were doing their job and keeping things clean when they were so busy sitting on the countertop having an inappropriate conversation. I was not impressed. Yogurt Beach is a South Reno delight. Snuggled in between a juice place, UPS a s sushi, it's sometimes easy to forget about. But on a hot, hot Reno day after you've dropped off UPS packages, man, does it ever sound perfect. And it is. Today, I went with the watermelon sorbet and peach yogurt. The watermelon tastes exactly like the fruit packed into an ice cold treat. The peach was creamy -- a swirl that reminded me that it's still summer. My toppings were blueberries and mini chocolate chips which complemented both perfectly. Be sure to stop in for a sweet summery fruit treat on these beastly hot days. I got a voucher for a complimentary 16oz at Yogurt Beach and was very happy with my visit and would come by again! The cup I filled ended up being 14 oz, and I really tried to fill it up as much as possible and got so many different things! Yogurt Beach has cute beach themed decor and has more enticing flavours and toppings than any other frozen yogurt place I have been to. They also offer shakes! This was the worst experience for us at any sit down fast stop. Their was a girl working in there and then a guy, both young. No problem except for the fact they are spending more time in back than out front. What is going on in the back? We had to wait several minutes with our yogurt melting before she came out to ring us up. Then we noticed when he showed up it was the same thing, the front was unattended. A man was sitting by the door with a box of candy bars and the box was open. I think he was trying to sell them to people walking in the door. He did not approach up but we notice he was connected to another older lady who has an ailment. It was hard to enjoy our treat when she was yelling and flailing her arms around. Staring at us and yelling. I could tell they were here awhile and that even though he did not sit next to her, they were together. Why did the persons working not ask them to leave? Disturbing customers is not good. Now here is the biggest issue: Every time the employee went into the back the guy would go back and fill his cup with yogurt. He was not paying for all the extra he took. I think the young people knew but did not want to confront him. Okay, the first time in, I was upset with prices this time I was upset with everything. Who wants to go out for dessert and hear someone yelling and more. I am not saying a disabled person does not have the right to go out but they should have been more conscious of the other customers. The manager needs to keep these employees in the front of the house to watch what is going on. Heaven forbid if someone drops something bad into the toppings. It is not sanitary unless a person is watching all the time. I won't be back here. Maybe, ice cream next time. ****I am not sure why this post is not allowing the owner/manager's response to show up. You can't do anything about it when we talk about cravings I can't explain how fan am I of yogurt ice cream. Although my only favorite flavor is plain since it is not sweet and goes perfectly with any topping. I came to this place a few months ago and I loved it, however I had forgotten how delicious it was so I decided to come and try it again. I love the concept of the restaurant, the surfboards and the environment in general and the variety of flavors and toppings they have. I have lived going to yogurt beach for the last 20 years. The service is always excellent and they have a bowl of water for dogs too!

The young men and women working here have NEVER failed to be friendly and accommodating. We come here all the time (I have three punch cards full - that's 10 stamps each for a free froyo!) During the summer, one of the kids actually came around offering cups of ice water. I love the frozen custard they have and I get the same thing every single time. I have tried other flavors and they are all pretty fabulous but something about chocolate with peanut butter will forever be my favorite. The only thing I don't like about this location is that they have cut the top off the container of the peanut butter, I'm guessing because it is too thick for the small opening of the squeeze bottles, but instead now the peanut butter comes out in huge blobs that look like slugs. It's not as easy to drizzle a smaller amount where you want it because of that. I guess if you mix it up it's all the same. They do have a couple of tables for outside seating which isn't super pleasant now that it's getting freezing out. No indoor seating. They also have hand sanitizer and gloves before you serve up your froyo. Again, I like the kids that work here I have never had a bad experience and I am impressed with the hiring of good kids. read more

The range of flavors offered is always impressive and interesting. Most of them taste fairly natural, and I love the ability to mix more neutral flavors with the wild ones. Toppings are always clean and highly varied. Something for literally everyone. The staff is young (like high school) but professional and attentive. You can tell they care about your experience and that makes all the difference. I haven't been since COVID began, but I would imagine they've tightened up their operations with the situation in mind. Simple themed decor makes it a nice little date place for the parents and kids for a nice treat. The Yogurt is good, but the custard yogurts are even better. I love the freshness and variety of the fruit toppings as well. This really is a great place, more toppings and better toppings than U-Swirl. And all of the yogurts are gluten free. Short story: Great spot to get some 'pay what it weighs' frozen yogurt. There are a lot of toppings to choose from and 14 flavors to chose from. There are very small tables though, so if you came with more than four people it could get super cramped. Longer story: The parking is pretty good and walking in was easy. Once you're in, you know what to do. Grab a bowl and go crazy. My daughter had the chocolate mint and I got the chocolate custard. Both tasted good. There were a ton of toppings to choose from, including name brands like M&M, Oreo, and Reese cups. Also, some other options like mochi, berries, and cherries. The cookies (including the Oreos) weren't super fresh though. They had a stale texture unfortunately. When we sat down we landed on a table the size and shape or a snow shoe. It's a part of the branding, but it made the seating weird. Also, the table wobbled. So did the another one... and that just made it weird. I feel like they could keep these decorative tables, but make it functional by attaching two side-by-side. And country music was playing... in a beach themed fro-yo place. Idk, that bugged me haha. Ultimately, this place was good. Something like 18oz of dessert cost $9. My daughter liked it. I liked it. Customer service was great. The seating and music needs some help. It's worth it though. The location parking leaves a bit to be desired (small lot, narrow lanes) but it's close to home and has a great selection. The staff is always ready and willing to offer up suggestions of their faves, samples of the new flavors and a spoon when you're ready to dig in! Not sure what to say about frozen yogurt that hasn't been said already. This place has awesome flavors and they switch them up frequently. The workers there allow you to sample before you purchase, however ALL their flavors are amazing so you can't go wrong whichever flavor or flavors you choose... and then after you fill up your container, they have just about any type of candy or topping for your enjoyment. I always load mine up with Reese's peanut butter cup. Yummy!!! Thank God this location is down the street from my gym, because now I can enjoy my dessert of chose without the guilt. read more

This place is always super clean and organized. I've never seen the toppings in a messy setting or all over counter/floor. This is definitely a huge plus! Yogurt Beach has always been a fun frozen yogurt shop - and a place I spent 2 nights a week at when I lived in Reno. I still go there when I get back to visit. The place is a franchise but I think the South Meadows location is the best one of the group. The place is usually very clean, even when busy. The staff is friendly and there is always a good selection. You serve yourself what you want and the yogurt is sold by weight. This is nice because you can have as much or as little as you want. There is a huge selection of toppings and they also have shakes and drinks. The place is a surfer theme - the tables are surfboards and the decor matches. They have a television that shows - you guessed it - a surfing video. I think it runs about 40 minutes and has been on auto repeat since the place opened. The other thing is this place supports the community. The bulletin board has a number of thank you letters from past fundraisers and is always full of families and teams from the local schools. It's a local business that is fun to go to and worth supporting. read more

With their beachy decor and cool treats, it's a favorite summer cool off spot. What I love most about this business is their community support. They frequently host fundraisers for schools and teams and if you come in after a game in uniform or if you come in with your wristband from ez air, they give a discount. I really like Yogurt Beach and was skeptical when I heard there was another yogurt place opening up in South Reno. Decided to go with the wife and give it a try. We went around 7:30 on a Wednesday and it was busy - that's a pretty good sign right there. Walked in and was greeted by a clean store, nicely laid out and felt a little more personal than U-Swirl. As I was looking over the flavors I was offered several samples (they give you large samples!) so it was nice not to play yogurt roulette with the flavors. Usually I mix and match at these places but I decided to stick with one flavor (valencia orange I think?) and then head over to the toppings. They have many more toppings than U-Swirl and the setup is much more sanitary and easy than U-Swirl. All the toppings were stocked and the fruit toppings were actually fresh and plentiful. Lastly - the price is slightly cheaper per oz. than U-Swirl which is nice. All in all I was very happy and have a new favorite Fro-yo place in town. I know other businesses have had some troubles in that location so I'm really hoping they do well and stick around. read more
