    16oz Yogurt
    Eugene M.

I got a voucher for a complimentary 16oz at Yogurt Beach and was very happy with my visit and would come by again! The cup I filled ended up being 14 oz, and I really tried to fill it up as much as possible and got so many different things! Yogurt Beach has cute beach themed decor and has more enticing flavours and toppings than any other frozen yogurt place I have been to. They also offer shakes! This location, and their location on Mayberry Dr, also offers a student discount.

You can't do anything about it when we talk about cravings I can't explain how fan am I of yogurt ice cream. Although my only favorite flavor is plain since it is not sweet and goes perfectly with any topping. I came to this place a few months ago and I loved it, however I had forgotten how delicious it was so I decided to come and try it again. I love the concept of the restaurant, the surfboards and the environment in general and the variety of flavors and toppings they have. The treatment of the staff is always very friendly and the girls who attend are very nice and always have a good smile. I'll definitely keep coming since I love it.

The young men and women working here have NEVER failed to be friendly and accommodating. We come here all the time (I have three punch cards full - that's 10 stamps each for a free froyo!) During the summer, one of the kids actually came around offering cups of ice water. I love the frozen custard they have and I get the same thing every single time. I have tried other flavors and they are all pretty fabulous but something about chocolate with peanut butter will forever be my favorite. The only thing I don't like about this location is that they have cut the top off the container of the peanut butter, I'm guessing because it is too thick for the small opening of the squeeze bottles, but instead now the peanut butter comes out in huge blobs that look like slugs. It's not as easy to drizzle a smaller amount where you want it because of that. I guess if you mix it up it's all the same. They do have a couple of tables for outside seating which isn't super pleasant now that it's getting freezing out. No indoor seating. They also have hand sanitizer and gloves before you serve up your froyo. Again, I like the kids that work here I have never had a bad experience and I am impressed with the hiring of good kids.

    Toppings anyone!!!

I am nominating Yogurt Beach on South Meadows Parkway as Reno's best Yogurt shop of 2020. I have visited this beautiful beach of flavors multiple times only to be blown away by the beach shack staff. This location is always clean, hassle free, and full of toppings and flavors that take you back to those quality moments that life gives us while sharing a sweet treat with someone you love. If you are in south Reno make sure you hit this Beach. Grab a cup, fill it up, and feel that cool Yogurt Beach breeze blow through your hair. Also don't forget to grab a frequent footprint card. Buy 10 cups & the next one is on Yogurt Beach...surfs up Yelpstars!

Open for takeout during COVID-19 Are you addicted to frozen yogurt like I am? Are you one who believes the yogurt served on these beaches is just better than the other options available? Then I'd say you're a true fro-yo connoisseur because this stuff is far and wide the best of them. The yogurt itself is fresh and creamy, with a mild tang. The range of flavors offered is always impressive and interesting. Most of them taste fairly natural, and I love the ability to mix more neutral flavors with the wild ones. Toppings are always clean and highly varied. Something for literally everyone. The staff is young (like high school) but professional and attentive. You can tell they care about your experience and that makes all the difference. I haven't been since COVID began, but I would imagine they've tightened up their operations with the situation in mind. That said, I've definitely been back regularly over the last 6 years. So while we're in quarantine, If the craving strikes, head to the beach!

We decided to stop by, since my friend gave us free coupons for a 16 oz. yogurt. He said that they have plenty of toppings and free samples. We picked different flavors and a lot of different toppings. I had the chopped almonds, blueberries, and strawberries, with the pineapple sorbet Of course the hubby loves any kind of cookie so he chose a few cookies, toffee crunch and nuts. We both had filled our bowls with 14 oz.. guess we could of went back to fill u, or add more toppings, but and vanilla, chocolate and strawberry yogurt. We even got a stamp card, so we can definitely come back ! Update: 4/1/2020 Easy ... just call in (my 3rd time)..and have your frozen yogurt ready to take home! Another tip: $8.00 for the quart size! Just make room in your freezer and create your own toppings at home!

Love Yogurt Beach! We've tried a lot of frozen yogurts and they have the best quality and flavor! Rich and no strong aftertaste! Love the variety of toppings and the price is fair. We'll be back for sure!

YELP REVIEW PROMPT…read more Checked on Yelp for a dessert spot that I haven't tried before. Sierra Nevada Creamery and Bakery was a quick four minute walk from our lunch spot so we thought why not! It's located right next to the Pioneer Center for Performing Arts and has a very small parking area. There are restaurants on either side so there is also street parking. It was a warm day so I decided on a double scoop in a cup, one pistachio and one sea salt caramel. The double scoop was huge, definitely no skimping and only $10. There was one person ahead of us and then tons of people piled in after we did so we got there at a really good time! There was only employee working (I think he may have been the owner). I felt so bad because it was just him and he had a line almost out the door but if he was stressed he did not show it. He was friendly and so professional. The inside is pretty small but there some places to sit and if the inside is full the grass area right outside isn't a bad place to enjoy your treats. I would recommend for sure and I definitely want to go back and try a chocolate chip cookie. Things to note: Read his story on the ice cream menu. I enjoyed it and that is what makes me want to return to try the chocolate chip cookie.

I was surprised to see this place as I've driven by this strip of businesses many times and never noticed this particular spot. They offer homemade treats, but mostly ice cream. They have an almost unmatched selection of non-dairy ice creams and sorbets. A nice surprise. The gentleman helping us was very nice and gave us a full rundown of how they make everything in house. He offered samples and suggestions. I sampled the flavor of the week, Lavender Honey Matcha, and the coconut cream coffee. My kids decided on the mango sorbet and the classic strawberry. Everything was delicious. The coconut cream ice cream had great flavor and texture given that it was non dairy. My wife and I decided on the matcha flavor of the week. It was very refreshing. The strawberry had real chunks of strawberry which is always a treat. My biggest critique is the texture of the ice cream. This stuff seemed very crumbly. I prefer a much more "chewy" or "sticky" ice cream if that makes sense. This stuff was more "dry" and less "creamy". There are some other local shops in the area that make great ice cream exactly how I like it, which is the only reason for 4 stars. I'm not sure this would be my top place for ice cream again. The smallest "one scoop" size is actually nearly two full scoops. Could be a good thing for some, but a kids scoop is always appreciated for my toddlers, especially a a slightly discounted price. That is not an option here. There are a few small tables inside to enjoy your treats and lots of to-go options which is always nice. The place was clean and well decorated. It was steadily busy while we visited, indicating that this place is likely here to stay. Overall, worth stopping in if you're in the area. The flavors are unique and tasty and the non-dairy selection is fantastic.

We ordered the Dust Storm: a vanilla milkshake with chocolate bits, topped with a giant blondie skewered dramatically on top, plus whipped cream, sprinkles, and chocolate drizzle. The rim of the jar was coated in marshmallow dip and graham cracker crumbs because apparently subtlety has left the chat. Honestly, the presentation was on point and exactly the kind of milkshake kids dream about. Which is why we ordered it. My tween declared it "the best milkshake I've ever seen in my life," and honestly, that alone made it worth the stop on our mother-daughter trip. Taste-wise, it leaned very sweet for me and didn't have a ton of flavor depth beyond sugar overload. But clearly the goal here is maximal fun and aesthetic, and they absolutely nailed that. It's basically a photo op you can drink. The shop itself was surprisingly quiet when we visited in the evening--we had the whole place to ourselves--but there were games to play while waiting for our order (we pulled out Pick Up Sticks, which transported me straight back to my 90s childhood living room). The ladies at the counter were also incredibly kind and patient explaining the menu and flavors to us. If you're looking for an over-the-top dessert experience your kids will talk about for days, this is your place.

I am a bit torn on Black Rock, but it's a great dessert spot nonetheless…read more Stopped in at Black Rock Dessert on a Thursday evening. Just one lone employee was running the place. In my opinion, it wasn't enough. There was a steady flow of people, and she couldn't keep up with orders and customer service. We opted for two small scoops of ice cream for the kids: chocolate and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. We also ordered the sizzling blonde brownie sundae. It was about $20 for three items. The ice cream was very good, especially the Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Very unique flavor and great texture. The blondie was a bit of a letdown. First, the blondie was not "sizzling". It wasn't even really warm. Only placed in a waffle iron for a few seconds. Second, it seemed very dry and crumbly, maybe even overbaked. I thought the ideas at Black Rock are fun, and I think trying one of their milkshakes should be my next visit. However, there are a lot of great ice cream spots in Reno. For just ice cream, I think there is some heavy competition.
