Looking for a place to eat lunch, we finally dropped in at Iki, a nice looking full service Japanese restaurant. The staff provided excellent service, and they had a pretty extensive moderately priced lunch special menu. I ordered the grilled smoke duck chicken breast. It was a stand alone dish, rice was extra. The chicken slices were perfectly cooked, so tender, they almost melted in your mouth. Loved it. My wife had lamb chops which included soup, rice, and a dessert. My wife didn't offer to share her dessert, but it looked like silky sweet soy bean custard and it definitely looked delicious. Anyway just when I thought you couldn't beat the chicken, the lamb chops absolutely blew me away - not too spicy, not too bland, perfect blend of flavor, yummy. The meal also included complimentary tea and matcha ice cream. However, I did experience one disappointment. I ordered a coke, it was a tiny 8 oz. bottle, ughh. Overall, because of the excellent service and food, I'll still give this dining establishment 4 and 3/4 stars - Oh, Ok 5 stars.

In the heart of Flushing, this Japanese restaurant is a must. I went there for a medical dinner and it was a 10 course meal. The service was excellent and the restaurant had cool vibes. This is my second time I have been here and I plan on going again soon.

Tucked away in Flushing next to the Hyatt Hotel, Iki Modern Restaurant is a hidden gem worth seeking out. While it's a bit tricky to find at first, the discovery is more than rewarding. If you're facing the Hyatt on 39th Ave, look to the left for a short staircase leading up to the restaurant. The lunch deals here are exceptional. We tried the sushi set, a tender short ribs plate (imported from Japan), and their surprisingly popular catfish set--which I now understand is a favorite. The catfish was delicate, fresh, and carried a clean, oceanic flavor that stood out. But the real star was the wagyu and uni on toast was an absolute highlight of our indulgent meal. We also sampled their lobster with cheese special (a very fair $13 for half, $26 for whole), and if you're feeling luxurious, don't miss their newest menu item: the truffle, foie gras, and caviar don. Each bite was decadent, rich and worth savoring slowly. To top it off, the staff kindly offered us a complimentary dessert. The bird's nest coconut pudding is a must try for the adventurous, if you prefer something more familiar, their standard ice cream is just as satisfying. Service throughout was attentive, tea was quietly refreshed, dishes were cleared promptly and every detail was handled with care. Iki is a place I'd highly recommend if you want to experience something different than the typical Japanese restaurant. I appreciate that they experiment and elevate traditional Japanese dishes. A true dining delight in Flushing.

Ive came here many times for thier lunch special and its worth it everytime! I got the katsu set for 18 dollars. It comes woth ice cream, katsu, steamed egg, soup, salad, and some sides with rice. I think its a good deal for what you way for. I also got the shrimp lolipops which comes with four peices and tarter sauce which is good as well. The food took some time but other then that it was good. I went around noon at 12 and there wasnt that many people and pleanty of seating.

I've been here TWICE because I couldn't believe how good it was the first time and had to go again to double check. The fish is SO high quality here and so good for the price! Honestly I'd pay more for this. The salmon is so BUTTERY and delicious. I've ordered a few different rolls and each one is just as good as the others. All of them are number 1. To top it off, the restaurant is so beautiful on the inside, and the staff is so warm and treats you like family. It's mind of a trek for me to go to flushing but I'd make a trip just for this place alone.

One of the best Japanese spots in flushing especially for their amazing value packed lunch special. With 25-30 dollars you get a miso soup, steam egg, main protein, and salad. I tried the 48 dollar 9 special sushi set and it was the best 48 dollar I ve ever spent ! The restaurant looks really modern and the service was beyond great

Absolutely fell in love with this place - the food, prices, service, and interior were so amazing! Came with friends for lunch and I got their curry tonkatsu set. The curry was very yummy and there were two pork cutlets! Good thing my friends helped me finish that! I wasn't expecting two!!! My goodness!!! I also enjoyed the sides that came with the set, and in particular the miso soup. The steamed egg was flavorful and smooth like pudding. The service was efficient and friendly. The interior was decorated quite well and not over the top. Highly recommend and can't wait to come back and try other items

All the seafood are not fresh very fishy so disappointed especially the oysters was so tiny and fishy compared with the price so disappointed i been eating here for a few times we love the beef shabu here

To celebrate the return of Chef Take San, their Omakase is 20% off for two weeks! Iki's veteran Omakase chef Take San is back again. I love that I can eat my favorite Japanese food without having to drive into NYC. This restaurant has a lot of Japanese food to choose from! The restaurant is spacious and comfortable, the service is good and the prices are reasonable. In addition to Omakase, we also highly recommend their Norwegian king crab (one crab cooked four ways). Very fresh and delicious. The $238 king crab set meal is enough for 3-4 people.

Green tea ice cream is delicious Red been ice cream is great Whole lobster meat is alright Beef on stone (definitely get it) - Oyster are fresh Okra - if you like them you must order this Soft crab shell is alright Wagyu on stone is definitely delicious Their bathroom very cute and cool design This place definitely a little pricey the food potion is small Only thing I don't like is getting watch while I'm eating they have too many waiters/waitresses standing around at the same place ... starring at you .. so weird . Other then that is very great food

It was relatively deserted around late afternoon. Abalone and sea cucumber were on sale; the former was slightly chewy while the latter was tender. The salmon and tuna, among the other selections in the sashimi combination, felt quite fresh. Grilled lobster was great with the garlic butter. The takoyaki had a smooth interior while the tofu was nicely fried and crisp.

The food was amaizng to eat we come here every time if we come to Tamgram. The service is quick and nice. The ambiance is clean and spotless.

Foei gras on a toast $20
    Cyrus T.

Foie gras on toast a bit oily, and bit fishy taste, not as nice as the restaurant next street over. Lobster roll at $16 for 6 small pieces might not be worth it compare to other items on the menu. It comes with one small scoop of ice cream. Wagyu lunch set. Beef is very tender. This is the best dish among the 3 that I ordered. It comes with steam eggs, miso soup, salad, and one small scoop of ice cream for dessert. Will come back for the other lunch set.

I normally…read moredon't like places with many prices, but since our daughter chose it so we enjoy with her. The prices on the windows are very confusing and more like false advertising for me, the lower prices are for the members which we're not since this is our first time and definitely our last, unless our daughter wants to come here again. So the price is the more expensive one. For me, I prefer straight forward pricing, so this didn't give me good vibes, it's not the money, just the way they advertising and we have to know what we can only have with the price we chose. The restaurant just gives us the specific menu for what we selected to have then we don't have to be denied for what we chose because we selected gold instead of top of the line menu. The place is clean and nice. For $78/per person and only have Australian Wagyu Beef (not really Wagyu) then it's over priced. We did have some premium beef which I liked because of the marble of fat on the beef quite tender and tasty, but only a sampler or whatever they called it. Service with one person is quite inadequate but she's very attentive and pleasant, since she had to run the whole restaurant, sometimes forgets things. The tomato broth was good and everyone liked it. The seafood plate is OK and our sweet shrimps are sweet. Some snow crab legs, jumbo shrimps, fish fillets, nothing to make me go wow. The appetizers tempura is crispy and good. The raw octopus is tasty. The vegetables are fresh and clean. After they denied me the premium beef sampler, I let my daughter to order everything else and I just enjoyed with the family. My daughter seemed to be happy and ate a lot, so I was happy. I've eaten enough shabu, hot pot to know that Australian or American Wagyu are overrated, many of them are tough and chewy, not as tender as normal ribeyes or Brisket that I like. This restaurant Wagyu beef does have marbles of fat in it, so it's tender and not so chewy. So, for the GOLD menu, I don't think it's worth the $78 but for special occasions, it's OK. I just don't like the confusion of many menu, many prices, and not getting my own menu and get denied for something on the menu because I didn't pay enough.

This was my first time at their Flushing location and this time, we ordered a la carte. You order on the iPad which has its pros & cons but overall was pretty simple. Their appetizers are well-priced and good portions at ~$6 each for the Edamame, Seaweed Salad, and Kani Salad. Their Seaweed Salad is delicious and is a must for me with sushi. The Kani Salad was also great but I'll probably try the spicy one next time for more flavor. The Yellowtail Jalapeño was fresh, bright, and slightly spicy. We got the Party Box which was perfect for sharing. Everything was beautifully presented, tremendously fresh, and full of flavor. My only complaint was that it wasn't served all together which I would've preferred and would've been a nicer presentation. The reason Akino is my favorite is their rice portion & fish quality! They don't try to overstuff you with carbs, their rolling technique is expert, and the fish is unbeatably fresh and good quality. All the rolls we got were delicious; I honestly can't pick a favorite and would get all 4 again. Amazing dinner!
