They served us a complimentary sushi snack and kept insisting we eat it; however I am allergic to shellfish. She insisted it was imitation crab and told me to eat it anyway.... came back and 5 minutes later said "never mind, it is real shellfish". Thank goodness I did not eat it! The food is 5 stars but the service was slow...even though we seemed to have 2 or 3 servers. We ordered edamame first for an appetizer but it came out last. The red dragon roll had the freshest, tastiest, most "non-fishy" flavor I've ever had, anywhere! Hubs loved the shaggy dog. We split a bottle of lychee wine not knowing totally what that would taste like and I would recommend it for dessert. They also brought us these small crab stick/lettuce/carrot salads with a sesame oil and wasabi dressing that I liked a lot. Terrible customer service. First they tell me they don't have miso dressing. Cool no problem, I can deal. Then they do but it's 'not good'. So I tell them I'd prefer to just get an extra roll (it's only $2 more than the 2 salads, they wanna charge me for the extra $2 even though it's their fault they don't have what I ordered on their menu.) Then when I ask for an extra spicy Mayo at pick up they wanna charge me for that too. I mean come on. Stop being so stingy & maybe you'll have more than 1 table in there at a time. This time I opted for the salad and the dressing was refreshing, and exotic tatsting with the ginger hints. Their Sapporo is very cold and hot sake is high quality. We usually order the stuffed jalapeños for the appetizer and it is a nice creamy, crispy, spicy combination that melts on your mouth. Asked for siracha which was never brought until we finally asked the nice gentleman who brought our sushi. Our waitress never came to check on us or refill glasses. The food was really good, the waitress was nice and helpful when I could not decide what I wanted. I tried the Hot Mama roll and a white peach saki, which was good. The manager was so sweet! She kept checking on everyone in the restaurant and as I was leaving showed me an article where the restaurant was just recently (night before) voted one of the best sushi places in Houston!
