We went back in March and the food was pretty good but my spareribs were cold, sent them back no big deal. We went last week for lunch and the dining room was closed so they told us we could sit in the bar area and we had our toddler with us. Dirty table everywhere only tables we could sit at were in a dark area no one offered to get us a high chair and dirty tables and trays full of dirty plates every where. We went back tonight 6/13 and the service was terrible but we were patient as the waitress was sweet and learning the new system both orders of rice were freezing cold, waitress never brought the rest of our food went to a different table when they place our plates of food on the table everything was freezing cold. We always came here at least once a week. The food was good and the service was good. Now the blond bartender made my wife and I uncomfortable because we didnt agree with her and the only other person there with their politics. We wanted to eat, not be told what to think. I made the mistake of ordering Chinese food from Yong Shing this New Years Eve... I placed the order at 10am and was told it would be ready by 6pm. At 730pm, an hour and a half past when my order was due to be ready I made the decision to leave Yong Shing and order pizza after calling the restaurant from the crowded lobby only to find out my order was still another 30 minutes away away from being ready. Unlike the customer service at Yong Shing, the pizza was great. This establishment will NEVER EVER AGAIN have my business. Their system for handling orders tonight was nothing short of embarrassing, scheduling over 50 something orders for pickup at the same time.... I am extremely disappointed with the new ownership. Young sings has been one of the only Chinese food places I would go to for the last 15 years. After my recent experience, I will not be going back. We ordered pork fried rice, a poo poo platter for two, crab rangoon, mai tai's and a scorpion bowl. Everything, aside from the crab Rangoon, was disgusting. Down to the water. I am not sure why this place has such poor reviews. I have been coming here for the past 2 years often and love it. MaiTais are five star, very strong and get the job done. Such an amazing local spot for Chinese food and karaoke! Came here on a Friday night and as soon as I entered the restaurant there was tons of energy and fun! Everyone was up walking around, socialzing, and having a great time. Most of the seating is in their bar area which holds about 10 tables in the front and 10 or so tables on the side. There is also a small dance floor area, speakers, and a screen for karaoke. Once inside it did feel a little bit smaller as all of the tables were filled. I ended up standing up most of the time as my seat was right near where the waitress stand was, but I did not mind as the dj was amazing. He has music going from the 70s until today as well as some line dancing that got everyone involved. He also had karaoke going, which is always fun and interesting! The Chinese food leaves much to be desired, but the drinks are strong and inexpensive--most are around $6 and you only need two. I recommend coming here for the karaoke, dancing, and drinks!! read more

There's always cars in the parking lot and people in the bar, so the locals must like it. I haven't eaten in the dining room or tried the lunch or dinner buffets. The Pu Pu Player is what you'd want / expect and Egg Foo Yong is solid. The Chef's Specials look good and there's a nice little Sushi bar for basic sushi a la carte and some Makimono (Chef's Special Maki). The menu isn't extensive but it offers all the traditional items I grew up with. Service was friendly and the food has been consistently good. It's not gourmet but that's not what I came for. If you want traditional "American Chinese Food", Yong Shing does a nice job. read more

I came for the great selection of vegetarian sushi, and I will never return, mainly because they didn't take my clearly outlined pregnancy-related food restrictions seriously and then made it a point to charge me for their odd mistakes and handling of the situation. When you want to spend $100+ on a nice meal, take your money elsewhere as you won't receive a good value here, and you may be treated poorly if your party appears to be young, mixed race, etc. read more

The Luncheon and Dinner Buffets are stacked with the favorites and is constantly be restocked when a bin gets low. My family and I frequently visit the restaurant, mainly the bar area for karaoke or get take out. Today was the first time I actually sat in the dining room where they offer a buffet for a fair price. This place is great for families with spacious booths and tvs. The service is always on point. I'm not big on eating buffet style so I ordered a spicy maki korean white tuna roll. They were kind of small rolls so I'd recommend getting more than one roll. My rolls were out in less than 10 minutes! They had good texture crunchy and creamy. I enjoyed the spicy mayo though it did not have a lot of heat for it to be considered spicy. Overall, this place is good quality for the cost of the meals. With our party of 6 the tab was only about $50!! read more

We came here probably 10 years ago with friends and we really, really liked it. We have talked about making a trip back for quite a long time and last Friday night, we decided to finally go ahead and get back to Yong Shing. What a bummer and a half it was. This isn't really a criticism on the food. I liked it more a decade ago, but it was still pretty damn decent. We were definitely pleased with what we got. The problem was with the service. We were seated and nobody came over. For probably 15 minutes. Finally a woman came by and asked "Did he take your drink orders?" No, nobody had even so much as looked at us. People who were seated after us were getting food orders delivered before we even made our drink order. No freaking lie. Total BS. We were assigned, without a doubt, the least enthusiastic and least engaged waiter I have ever had in my life. I would compare it to hiring some schmuck off the street with terrible social skills as a dishwasher and then tossing him onto the floor as a waiter on his second day. If you told me he had prior waiting experience and was hired based on a good application and references, I would not believe you. He sucked. He sucked HARD. I have never been exposed to somebody who cared about their job performance less and relied on tips for their pay. His greeting when he finally decided to come over to us, after ignoring us for nearly 25 minutes: *grunt* He made some kind of noise, but I don't think it was an actual word and we sat there staring back at him for a couple of seconds. Like *this* was *it*? THIS is what we we're getting? I was beyond irritated and I asked "What's up?" when staring at him didn't lead him to trying another approach. "Are you ready?" he replied at about a half decibel in volume. If you had the slightest hearing impairment, he would have been a mute. Some people have bad days or bad moments, but this was just a lack of interest all around. No effort, no fucks given. You don't have to act like a Miss America contestant to be wait staff, but I found it hard to believe he thought this was a great way to approach a table you clearly ignored for a very long time and you probably still expected a tip... which I did, I always tip regardless. You've still performed work, though not to my personal standard, so you get 15% max rather than 20 or 25%. We didn't see him again after everything was delivered. No check-in to make sure he didn't screw our order up like he screwed up the order at the next table. He just dumped the food off on the table, without regard to who ordered what (so he just kinda plopped my wife's order in front of me and dropped off mine on the side of the table) and marched away, never to be seen again. I had to wave him down to get the bill later. I'm typically really understanding with waiters and waitresses. It's a job I think could be really difficult often times, so the little things don't always bother me. It's the blatant stuff that just isn't cool. This really turned me off to the whole restaurant that I've spent 10 years telling myself I *needed* to make a trip to go back to. Pssh. I don't need to go again now. Whoever the male waiter was in the dining room on 7/12, the owner kinda needs to reconsider his skills in terms of representing their establishment. read more

It's so hard for me to write this review. We usually love Yong Shing & get takeout all the time. However, the last experience I had with friends here (last week on Wednesday evening) was very unsettling. We sat in the dining room and it was moderately busy. Our waitress came over and took our drink order and we ordered a few apps. She was less than pleasant but it didn't bother us. However, when I received my wine it was very stale and you could tell the bottle had been open and sitting for a while. I've never sent a drink back in my life but there was no way I could drink that glass of Sauvignon Blanc. I politely called the waitress over and explained to her that the wine was not good-- no big deal, but can I have something else? She wouldn't even listen to me and started walking away before I could even finish my sentence. I called her back over and she said "you want another glass" I said no I'd like to change my order- so I did, to a vodka/soda. She was extremely rude, did not apologize, and would not even let me speak. Once we got over this little mishap, we all kept ordering drinks and food, and a few hours went by when we realized our dirty dishes on our table had not been cleared. Dishes from apps we ordered when we first sat down were still sitting there, it was gross. We saw a bust boy but he didn't come over, so when we saw our waitress again we asked for the check and if our table could please be cleared. Again, with the attitude from her, like what we were asking for was unreasonable, when in reality, it's a simple task that should be done during every dining experience. We could not get over the level of rudeness coming from this waitress. At first we thought maybe it was a cultural thing, but after 3 different instances of blatant rudeness, we were appalled. Working in the service industry myself, this is an unacceptable way for any server to behave to their customers. I would have been fired immediately from a serving job if I ever acted this way towards paying customers. I have attached a picture to show the level of dishes that sat at our table for over an hour. Patrons should NEVER have to ask for their table to be cleared. Now I know why we order takeout, or sit at the bar. I'm not paying money to be ignored and accosted by someone I'm supposed to be tipping! Even with this bad experience, I have had too many pleasant experiences here to give them only one star. We have been eating here, and getting take out for well over 20 years. Always our favorite Chinese place... loved the food and the drinks. But the last couple of times, we have noticed a sharp decline in quality of the food. We got take out a few nights ago, and it was not good. The lemon chicken was tough, the sauce flavorless. The pork fried rice was really bland, and had a seasoning we never noticed before, and could not identify. We just heard it has changed hands, which may explain it, but it will be the last time for us. What a shame! And, if the owners are paying any attention, the place really needs a good scrubbing, and a makeover. Do that, and fix the food, and we may return. read more

This time I was appalled at how unfriendly and pushy the staff was. We went in about 2:45pm this Saturday to grab lunch. Even though they had a sign out front for a lunch buffet, we were told by the hostess in a very abrupt and cold manner that the buffet was over. We sat down anticipating to see other lunch options on the menu. Upon entering the dining room I notice a handful of tables - families and couples dining - and speaking softly. For some reason there is no music in this room. I don't understand why it was so quiet? Anyway, we sat and opened the menu to the "lunch specials" page where it said that those were available until 3pm. Just then a waitress calls across the dining room - "are you ready to order?" - no welcome or "hi" - just a shout across the room. I was surprised as the dining room had quite a few tables in it that she would do this. She dropped off two waters and then another waitress came to take the order. I asked if the lunch special was still available and she said yes. We ordered and she asked if we wanted soup. My teenage daughter, with whom I was with, asked what soups were available. The waitress was upset that we were asking questions and was missing the restaurant's timeline of 3pm to get the lunch special order into the kitchen! What kind of nonsense is that?? Why do people in this part of Massachusetts put up with rude and cold customer service and substandard food???? We felt rushed as soon as we walked in there. And the faux 3pm deadline made this customer get up and walk out. ....and we're not going back. Until they learn how to be courteous and warm to customers who go to restaurants to both have food and enjoy the atmosphere they should be relocated to the food court of a mall. read more

We've been to Yong Shing twice. The first time was not bad, great and new decoration, clean, and nice service. Food was OK good. The second time we went on Sunday for a dinner buffet. When we walked into the serving area, we were totally shocked. There was only one and half isles. I couldn't believe it and kept looking for more isles. We had to get the same food twice, and not because they were yummy, that was pretty bad for a buffet. At the end they charged $13.95 for the buffet. We would NEVER go back for buffet again, that is for sure. And don't waste your money, either. read more

After experiencing the lunch portion of chicken kung pao which came with fresh pork fried rice, crisp egg roll, AND a good serving of hot and sour soup we have decided that Yong Shing is at its best for lunch! All of that came to a glorious $6 (before tax, don't ask me the exact total, my eyes were glazed over in hunger). So by all means people, stop by for their lunch!! Buffet is next on our list to try. A word of warning now. Yong Shing is now at a new location right off of 290. It seemed ideal! Great new building, beautiful new bathrooms (which they needed b/c we all know you only rent the mai tais), and right next to McDonald's incase you need the double cheese to help w/ the pre- hangover. Unfortunately no one in the licensing board or the owners realized just how popular good food and cheap booze is. The location is sorely short of parking spaces and people are getting creative. That means parking on the Conservation land next door (stop that!) and worse, in front of people's homes or on their lawns. So if you are coming here at night -- car pool! Do not park at MCD's -- you will be towed. OR make a night of it and get a limo ;) The booze is cheap, you can afford it. read more

Underwhelming food, vegan/vegatarian items were lacking and not that good. We only got takeout, so cannot review the inside with service and everything, but as far as takeout goes, it was not very good. I understand that Chinese food isn't typically a 10/10 meal---but Yong Shing is on the low end of that scale, being very underwhelming and also not that great (but not BAD). The parking is also ridiculous with tiny parking lot and valet? The valet seems beyond ridiculous to me, but I guess if it gets busy on the weekends its necessary. Arrival 7:30, Thursday night. Handful of customers. Very quiet. I enter a lobby. There's an area that makes you think of a receptionist at the Doctor's. It's my first time. I 'get' the Covid, slow night thing. I notice a woman involved with a computer and speak to her, 'What should I do?' She says, "Go in." Almost w/o looking up. I asked her which way. She looked up, exasperation showing, or was it merely annoyance? "Through here?" I said pointing. She nodded. Enter through the door to find a dark place, bartender looking down and slightly away. I asked her what should I do? I'm one for dinner." She said sit anywhere. I did. The other waitresses (2) paid me no mind. I ordered a drink. It came i had 2. One had a half slice of orange, the other had that, too , plus a piece of lime and a cherry. Now we're looking like a Chinese restaurant! Ordered a sizzling platter with 3 meats. When it came, the sizzle platter and it's wooden holder got plunked down. It was really hot, she said, as she poured the food onto it and the table. I guess sizzling from the kitchen was too smelly on her clothes? After calling her over to clean up the various spills, i ate, receiving that second drink. We love to dine in best but get take out too. Sit in the bar...seat yourself! Waitstaff is super nice and super quick. Their mai tais are dangerously good. Order the Kung-Pao anything, Yu-Hsiang anything, pu pu platter...my favorite is the Lake Tung Ting shrimp. Ambiance is like a local pub filled with regulars joking with the staff and jeopardy, family feud or the local news on the TV. read more
