My husband and daughter wanted something sweet. My husband wanted ice cream and my daughter wanted donuts so....we ended up here. Thought it would be the perfect answer to both. Welllllll. First of all the EXPERIENCE from the min we walked in the door and were warmly greeted by a jolly "YOOOOOO" from the smiling ladies who worked there & invited us in and asked if we had been there before seemed very promising. One young lady in particular explained the menu and what made Yonuts popular and helped my hubby and daughter make their decisions. They got a cookies and cream something or other, that was on the menu and the other was a build your own deal. Which ended up being PB ice cream filled donut sando and I think it had Cinnamon & Sugar coating. We took them To-Go and as soon as we got home they tore into them. They went 1/2 & 1/2 to try both flavors. The Cookies & Cream was cute with its frosting squirt on top and some broken cookie pieces but it did not wow them. They next went in on the PB Sando and really liked the ice cream but were disappointed in the actual donut and wished there wasn't the excessive amount of C & S coating. Now that may have been their fault for not knowing that's how it came and they could have easily asked for it without. Maybe the donuts have to be a certain consistency and the wow is not really supposed to be focused not the donut itself but the ice cream and the cold mixed with hot combo. It just didn't do much for them. Take away, very cute decor, super clean eating area, excellent customer service, fun concept....actual product meh. We were excited to try Yonutz, but unfortunately the store closed hours before the normal closing time because they were sold out of inventory. As we were walking up to the front door, labled with the sold out sign, someone from inside yelled that they were not open. Sometime later, I did go onto their website to express that the store was listed online as open but was actually closed when we drove to the location, which was disappointing since there was no indication of the closure unless you drove all the way to the store. Additonally, I did mention that I planned to write a review about our experience having travelled there during open hours, only to find out that they were closed. We reccieved text messages from the owner saying that we were not customers and had no experience to review. It is true that we did not get an opportunity to try any items on the menu, so this is not a review of the desserts. read more

Stopped here strictly cause the name was awesome... boy am I glad I did, fantastic donuts. The service was great, and the inside was nice and clean. But lemme tell ya, prolly the best jelly filled donut I've ever had, I got the strawberry shortcake donut, also got the biscoff donut and a couple mini donuts. They are light and fluffy and don't leave that greasy feeling in your mouth after eating them. The biscoff donut was indulgent and great for a speculoos lover. The mini donuts are great for first time triers of yonuts. But perhaps the most impressive thing was that they have made to order gluten friendly donuts. All the donuts taste like powered donuts but they're soft and fluffy to be so small! the 4 minis are a good size for one person and I got sprinkle, birthday cake (orange icing on top), churro (topped with chocolate and filled with caramel), and dolce de leche (white icing on top)! they all are good and perfectly sweet! I love the concept of my two favorite deserts being smashed together into one delicious dessert. Unfortunately, the concept did not live up to my expectations. I think the problem is the donut ... it was too bland. It tasted like fried dough. Honestly, I prefer a waffle cone to the way this tasted. Side note, donuts are my favorite dessert- so to say I'd prefer a waffle cone to these is heresy. I'd be happier getting some Trader Joe's ice cream from across the street and stuffing that ice cream into my favorite donuts (can you imagine an Apple fritter filled stuffed with vanilla ice cream, topped with a drizzle of caramel ). I've passed by this store several times and promised myself I would have to try it out one day and this weekend was the day and I had to bring along a group of family members to try this place out because they are true foodies who love donuts as well. The pricing for mini donuts jump in price after 4 pieces so we weren't sure about getting the larger size as we had anticipated to try out more flavors. Cinnamon Toast Crunch/Rocky Road ice cream donut sandwich - overall taste was good although the rocky road definitely overpowered the taste of the plain donut. We had expected the donut to be much warmer as it's pressed but it didn't live up to the expectations we were hoping for. Taste is good but if the donut was hotter in temperature, it would elevate this treat to a higher level. Rainbow sherbert - the typical flavor I expected similar to good ol' Thrifty. It was good and satisfied my palette although if it were a tad bit sweeter, it would have been perfect. The gentleman that helped us was really fun and guided us through our first trip. Ultimately, we went with the smash donuts which is essentially a plain donut cut in half with ice cream inside and then smashed into a sandwich. It then has toppings on it. They have their own flavors or you can customize it. I made one with the chocolate birthday cake ice cream and Nutella drizzle. To be honest, both things were good, but I didn't love the sandwich style. I would have preferred them separately. I was recommended this place by a friend I play volleyball with. I have came here at least five times and every time I get donuts here and bring them to people they are amazed by the mini donuts and are even more amazed by how good they taste. The venue is small they have a few tables to sit at but I usually get the donuts to go when I come here. Again I have not had a bad donut here they all taste good.
