Came here two days ago and had the greatest experience! Like other reviews have said, it's very authentic and the staff is so kind! It wasn't too busy for a Friday night and we were basically seated right away. We ordered the Sakura boat and Tempura Udon. The udon was soooo good- v flavorful and my friend was even slurping up the rest of the broth! They had let us know that our sushi would come out late, but it was worth the wait. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. The sushi size does feel smaller than other restaurants, but I was glad not to feel stuffed walking out. The owner, I think, was even kind enough to offer complimentary cucumber salad, and talked with our table for a bit. I think he was my favorite part of the whole experience! Small intimate place, been our go to for sushi for the last two years that is local and wholesome. Authentic Japanese people running an authentic Japanese restaurant. Small place approximately 30 seats and 12 at the bar. Gets pretty crowded on Fridays and Saturdays after 5 pm. I consider this place a hidden gem. (not anymore after this... lol) They are a hard working family who deserves all the accolades they can get. I haven't had one disappointing meal here yet... My son got a lunch bento with chicken and the chicken was tasty. I thought it was strange that no rice was included, and no soup or salad. They are not cheap bentos. I got a lunch sushi sashimi bento. So we did order miso soup because lunch did not include it. The soup was cold. But the worst was the sushi. It jus was not good. I love sushi and have eaten it all over the world. The salmon, which is my favorite, was not good. It had an odd flavor and there was gristle in the nigiri one. Don't get me wrong, we ate it. Overall, I would give it a 7/10. It's a very small/crowded restaurant. It also doesn't have a kids menu. The menu itself can be a little hard to read if you're not familiar with the words. And aside from sushi, it's pretty limited. We ordered the chicken fried rice, miso soup, some sushi rolls and steamed gyoza. Thoroughly enjoyed the sushi and steamed dumplings but the rice and soup were very strongly flavored and seemed to be over seasoned. That could just be not a taste preference of mine. But I would recommend this place as the service is great and it's reasonably priced with overall decent food. Be prepared for a wait time due to the size of the place though. My top place to get sushi in this area! It's a small place located between Publix and a Mexican restaurant but it's usually packed and for good reason! Their sushi is always fresh and my bf and I have been eating here at least once a week for a few years! We used to dine in but after having our baby, we do take out from here a lot. I have been ordering sushi from another local place because they deliver. I ordered a rainbow maki and an order of white tuna sashimi. This is my initial standard order that I judge restaurants by when I try a new sushi place. The white tuna literally melts in your mouth. I've gotten the same order three times in a row because it seriously is just that good! I will say it is a little on the pricier side but do you really want discounted sushi?? After living on sushi row in Los Angeles for 15 years and being VERY picky about my sushi, I've finally found a place in Georgia that rivals and surpasses many on sushi row. When I eat sushi, I have to have quality. This is the place for that. The specials on the board are where it's at. If you ever see Japanese Snapper, you have to try it. Sit up next to the bar and ask the sushi chef. They won't steer you wrong AND you will get the best fish. Roll wise... Not a big roll person but every one I've had there was good. My favorite one is the double dragon. And just tried the Idol Roll.. LOVE IT! Very clean. Very friendly staff. Couldn't ask for anything more. Will def be back! ADDED : Love the owner. When you walk in the door you immediately notice this is very small restaurant but nicely decorated and few tables but spaced well. You wait to be seated. We were seated and drinks brought out straight away. They don't have a kids menu but do offer half orders of items like fried rice. Our server recommended the devil roll so we had that, the dragon roll and the Golden snapper. All were spectacular. Beautifully displayed and rolled and wonderful flavor. Now to the reasons they aren't a 5 star rated restaurant yet. Our cups were frequently empty, many others seated near us had to get up and obtain their own menus after waiting 10 to 15 minutes to be approached by a server for the first time and our son's half order of fried rice arrived about 8 minutes after we had finished all of our sushi.
