service is fast and friendly! food has consistently been good at an affordable cost compared to some places. i really love the taste of their broth in the cold noodle dish. they also give complimentary hot soup in a thermos once you sit down. galbi is well flavored and very tender. busy ambiance but relaxing as well. good place to take friends and family.
Came here around 5:45 PM and it was busy but no line -- always a good sign. The interior is super bright and welcoming, and most of the staff are ajummas, which honestly gives it that comforting, homey Korean diner vibe. You can tell this place has a strong base of regulars too, I saw a mix of friend groups and families casually walking in like it's their go-to spot. We ordered the cold noodles combo with jokbal (pork hock) for $30.95. Portion wise, it's SOLID for two people. The cold noodles were refreshing and really hit the spot, especially if you like that clean, slightly tangy flavor. The jokbal was very decent. Not bad, but if you've had it in Korea, you'll notice it doesn't quite hit the same level still totally "usable," just not standout. Value, this is where they win. We got full off just one combo, which is rare these days. Plus, all the usual Korean side dishes are complimentary, and they also served a warm bone broth at no extra cost. I've honestly never had that offered like this before, and it made the whole meal feel extra comforting and homey. Small detail, but I also appreciated that the table was already fully set up with bowls, utensils, and water which makes everything efficient. Overall, really solid experience. It actually gave me a bit of that Seoul nostalgia, which is hard to replicate. Definitely coming back to try more dishes.
First time at Yoo's Place and I felt like I stumbled upon a hidden gem. There are so many items on the menu here, but I was really wanting naengmyun after a beach day. The restaurant wasn't that busy when I went. Super clean, the server was so sweet, and the food came out so fast. The banchan was on the sweeter side. I really enjoyed their kimchi and bean sprouts. My naengmyun came out shortly after the banchan, and I was so surprised by how big the portion was! It had a good amount of meat and cucumber too. It was so much that I was able to take home half. I look forward to coming back and trying more dishes out!
We went to Yoo's Place with a huge party. The food came out delicious and in a timely matter despite the amount we ordered. I especially loved the warm bone broth they served at no extra cost. I've never had anything like that before and it felt very homey. My favorite dish was definitely the ribs with cheese. I love that it was so cheesy and that they cut up the meat from the bones for you. Though the meat was so tender that it might not have mattered, but a nice gesture indeed. The cold noodle soups were so comforting and a great complement to the ribs!
This is my 3rd time at Yoo's place. I gotta say, their food is so consistent and Delicious! 10/10. No.1 for me is the Hotpot with Shortrib and potato. We ordered a medium and they gave a generous portion. The flavor is so unique, savory and tangey broth. It was served with chewy vermicilli. Also recommend: Bossam, Tobbokki and ramen. I also tried their Bulgogi before and it was amazing too. The service was fast though the restaurant was always busy.
《냉면으로 시작된 가족사》 -- 제6회 Bossam Redemption & The Take-Out Salvation April 23, 2024 -- Bossam Redemption We finally ordered the bossam. And immediately realized this dish was not meant for amateurs. Three rows of thick-cut pork belly, glistening like it just descended from pork heaven itself. Juicy. Tender. Ridiculously satisfying. Wrap it in cabbage and then the flavor avalanche hits: %@#&*!... Eyes roll back. Cabbage crunch. Shrimp brine punch. Nutty ssamjang. Raw garlic kick. Jalapeño heat. Anger. Tears. Joy. All at the same time. It's too #$&@ good*. Then came the spicy pork bulgogi (dwaeji bulgogi) -- served sizzling on a hot stone plate. And I mean sizzling. I even filmed it because dat sizzle though. Greasy. Spicy. Onion-loaded. Exactly what this dish should be. And importantly -- not overly sweet like some places that try to westernize Korean food. Yeah... Yoo's Place isn't doing that. They're just cooking real Korean food. Fast forward.... June 18, 2025 -- Survival Mode Kids get bigger. Sleep gets rarer. Life gets louder. This was one of those days where nobody had energy for anything, so I swung by Yoo's Place after work to grab takeout for the family. Honestly it's worth the drive no matter where you're coming from -- even if you pass ten other Korean restaurants on the way. Right before leaving I paused at the doorway. Turned around. Closed my eyes. Took one deep breath. Just filling my lungs with that home-cooked Korean comfort smell before heading back into the chaos. Then I walked out carrying a bag full of happiness for my exhausted wife and my two slightly feral children. (Next time I may add a bottle of soju for mental health purposes.) Also -- I think I met the daughter of the owners when picking up the order. First time noticing her there -- she might be the one running their Instagram lately. Super friendly. Super welcoming. Worthy mention.... 그리고... "와 완전 연예인급이네... 아이돌인 줄 알았잖아. 진짜 예쁘시다 대박." (whispers: just in case my wife reads this review... she doesn't speak Korean ) Luna is now 7. Jameson is almost 2. Small mom and pop shop! Good service and ambience with plenty of seating. Our favorite part of the meal was the complimentary broth served which was so warm and yummy. I got the naengmyeon while my friend got their tofu soup. Although not the best I've had and the portion was a little small, it was still really good and I enjoyed my meal! The banchan was extremely good as well. I recommend trying. :)
Mid service (but they're just busy), comforting food, acceptable cleanliness, great price, GREAT BANCHAN! Things that stood out to me: their banchan selection and they serve warm bone broth to drink upon arrival. I love kabocha squash so that banchan was my favorite. Fish cakes a bit too salty. Spicy cold noodle is standard, noodles perfectly chewy. Fried chicken platter had the perfect acidic dressing and the salad balanced it out very well. Mandu ddeok & the tofu stew were both comforting during cold weather. Would definitely come again to try their huge menu selection. Next time, hopefully servers are more friendly and our spoons are clean
Yoo's Place is a paradise for Korean food lovers. With one of the most comprehensive, diverse Korean menus, Yoo's Place offers amazing flavors in a tucked away business plaza off Jamboree. Parking can be a hassle in this small plaza so it's best to go straight to the basement parking if you're short on time. For my first visit, I got to try quite a spread, and not a single dish disappointed. To start, their banchan spread had a great variety including kimchi, fishcake, bean sprouts, and a really delicious pumpkin with what tasted like onion cream. You also get a little thermos filled with beef broth for a little cup of comfort to go with your meal. As for the food, I got to try these memorable bites this visit: Tangsuyuk, with chewy, crispy pork with a tangy sweet and sour sauce. A great hit at the table. It was almost gone despite our feast. Yuringi chicken, with extra crispy fried chicken cutlets topped with peppers on a bed of cabbage pooled with a tart soy based sauce. This was so addictive, I could not stop reaching for another bite. Rice cake soup with dumplings. Their take on this classic dish reminds me of the kind of home cooking that makes you want to go out to eat. With a milky bone broth, tender rice cakes, and incredible mandu boiled to perfection and filled plump to the brim with tender meat. And their mung bean pancake was so crisp on the outside while being moist and so flavorful on the inside. I was blown away by how delicious each bite of every dish I tried was here. My only regret is I couldn't fit more bites in this one meal. I can't wait to try the rest of their massive menu. Highly recommended.
I discovered Yoo's Place when I went to the spa next door. When I was done with my treatment, I was hungry and this looked like the best dinner option in the plaza. Best spontaneous discover ever! For those looking for parking, there is an underground parking structure for the plaza. Upon entering, staff welcomed me into a half booth. I really like that they have all of the dishes, utensils, water, cups, napkins so you can grab whatever you need. The menu looks incredible. They have all of my Korean favorites like naengmyun, tofu soup, galbi, and kalguksu. I decided to get the #67 LA Galbi + Soon Tofu Combo, where I opted for the Beef Tofu Soup mild. The waitress brought over side dishes and purple rice. Yay I love purple rice. They also left something else on the table but I didn't know what it was. Later on, Becky, who seemed to be in a management role, came over and asked me if it was my first time at their restaurant. Wow I must look new. She told me that the container had their beef bone broth, and you can pour it into a cup and drink it. Wow! This broth is INCREDIBLE! That alone was enough for me to come back. The galbi came out really quickly and the tofu soup came out soon after. The galbi was well marinated and tasty. The tofu soup had a deep broth flavor that is superior to any other tofu soup places in the area. It tasted really healthy and clean but flavorful. Just when I thought I couldn't possibly love this place more... Becky brought out sample portions of their naengmyun, or cold noodles. She said it was their house special and she really wanted all the first timers to try it. She dropped it off at another table too who had first timers. Wow this was SO DELICIOUS. I love naengmyun and this is one of the best I've had. The only thing I didn't love was their side dishes. I actually declined refills, which is a first for me. But everything else was so good, the positives outweigh the slight blemish. Definitely coming back soon. It will be so hard deciding between what I already tried and love or trying the kalguksu. What an amazing restaurant!
We were excited to try this place in a mall that has so much great food options to begin with. Menu is very extensive which is not always a good sign when it comes to Korean food. Banchan had a nice variety and the bean sprouts were excellent. A small issue is the kimchi itself was older and you know that as it's more sour and less firm. Soon dobu was excellent. Well balanced heat and deep rich broth. Tang Su Yuk was a massive portion , great for sharing. It was good but had slightly too much breading. I agree with some comments here about the staff friendliness which is rather lacking. Still overall a good meal , not LA level but still good
The standout of this casual Korean restaurant was the pitcher of complimentary bone broth that they serve at the beginning of the meal, I loved that they put a lot of white pepper. The soup made the start of my meal so comforting and relaxing. While some of the shared dishes were a little expensive, all of the noodles and soups were more affordable. I tried the haemul kalguksu, which was soothing and filling. I was only able to finish half of my soup and had leftovers for later. The banchan was also fresh and our waiter refilled it frequently, I liked the kabocha one. read more

Soooooo good! Korean food for the soul recently had dinner here with friends and we the service was great, they checked on us frequently and made sure we ate food the right way (lol). I ordered some items with my bf, a combo of chic mul naengmyun and kalbi, and jajang myeon! Our friends ordered bibimbap, some other sizzling meat and cold noodle combo! Galentine's 2/14/25 lunch at Yoo's and it was a great choice. Good food all around with good gal friends. We ordered several items and everything is delicious. I am a fan of tofu soon and I ordered the beef soon. Lots of beef and tofu. The soup is not as flavorful as BCD but still good. The sides are delicious and they were generous about coming around and refilling. My gal pals ordered cold noodle, black bean noodle and fried sweet and sour pork. All were delicious. Parking at ground level is limited but they have an underground structure for the whole center with a lot of spaces. Comfortable inside seating. Good service. Spicy crab- 3/5: I came to try their new dish and I thought it was okay. There weren't that many crabs. Maybe 3 soft shell crabs total if you add up all the halves and they were on the smaller side so not much meat to eat. The rest was just onions underneath. The sauce was good, but not spicy. 56. Jajang Myun- 3/5: It was a bit bland. I'm unsure if that was because it truly was bland or because the spicy crab sauce had so much more flavor in comparison. read more

Monday, June 17, 2024 Food is always great. Beware of the rush peak hours... the lines are long. A MUST is their galbitang! If you have not tried their soup drink that they give you is 10/10. TLDR: Easily the BEST Korean restaurant I've ever eaten at, and I've been to quite a list. Without hesitation, Yoo's Place will always make it onto my OC Itinerary whenever I'm in town. - - - - - - Yoo's Place better be your (go to) place, because WOW were the tastes here next level. If I could rank this in my 6/5, I would. The interior is quite cozy, not too much walking space, but a very nice atmosphere. What surprised me was that upon seating, there was a black carafe staring at me. Usually at Korean restaurants, it's a clear one filled with water... and to my surprise it was filled with warm bone broth - wow did that feel like home! I ordered my usual Mixed Soon Tofu; eating alone makes it difficult to order larger dishes. Soon, the side dishes arrived, and when I took the first bite, I knew I was in for a TREAT. The seasoned acorn jelly was the perfect balance of salty and sweet, the sweet and spicy of the radish, kimchi, and cucumbers were spot on. The pink radish? Lightly sweet, refreshing, and snacky. The fish cakes, my least favorite, marinated to perfection... ate 'em all! The next notice was when the Mixed Soon Tofu arrived, the ingredients were such generous portions. Having eaten at a variety of Korean restaurants, Yoo's Place really packs that bowl! Add on an egg and fluffy rice... mmmm! Really can't find a single thing to not like about Yoo's Place! Paying was interesting, with the check handed over within five minutes, though my taste buds were too captivated to notice. With one main cashier / server at the time of visit, I was impressed with how well she took care of the 10-15 parties there - even checking in on the food and drink! Portions sizes are insane here I love! Lots of workers come here on their lunch break but service is still super super fast! Have come here many times and think you can't go wrong with anything here, but I especially love the yulmyeon! It's a Korean-Chinese seafood noodle dish you don't usually see at restaurants and a must try! read more

AMAZING Korean cold noodle options here! I loved my boyfriend's Chic Bibim Naengmyun and enjoyed my Chic Nul Naengmyun. The Seafood Pancake was made well here, but super thick for just two people so I recommend it for bigger parties. Would definitely order the Chic Nul Naengmyun next time - it's a little bit spicy, but not intolerable spicy so I'll be able to eat it next time, heh. The sides were bomb as well! The only downside is that you aren't allowed to take home any naengmyun leftovers if you have any :( read more

Called in to place my order of combo tofu soup and beef bulgulgi. The interior was very nice and clean and the place was located along with a lot of other shops so there is limited parking. I really enticed my soup! It was nice and spicy per my request, even after adding my rice! The portion was quite large which was a pleasant surprise. The packaging was very nice and made it easy for my to eat back in my hotel room too. The beef bulgulgi wasn't too impressive but the soup made up for that. The service was very quick and efficient. I really wish this place was locally located to me because I am a major fan now! I still think about this soup! read more

This place has a myriad of good comfort Korean food and we had a great experience before but that was not the case this time. We had a question on the combo deal meal on the menu and asked Abigail, if that was her name on the receipt, and she rudely yelled at us for asking and admonished us for not understanding how that works. We were bit taken back watching how she treated the party of four sitting next to us who weren't Korean and she snapped and yelled at them for questioning the menu item. This lady should not be a server and maybe should stay in the kitchen if she's going to be displaying this unacceptable behavior on the floor. Husband wanted jampong but was told they sold out and it was around 2 pm and they open until 9:30 pm. We ended up ordering bibim nangmyun, mandoo kalgooksu that had mandoo all broken floating with giant anchovies floating in numbers, nokdu pancake that was so tiny for the price charged. We will definitely avoid this place in the future. Very disappointing and don't deserve patronage. read more

Decided to try this place out based on the good reviews it had. However it was a very disappointing experience. When I walked in, service was unwelcoming, they tried to shove me into a small corner table next to a full loud party. I asked if I could sit at a more quiet space since there were plenty of open seatings. The server agreed, but shortly after another staff rudely pointed me to go to the corner again. I should've just left then to save my stomach. I ordered the combination tofu stew and galbi. and both were disappointing. The tofu stew was extremely bland and my beef was overcooked and burnt, complete inedible. read more

Wow wow wow! Becky (owner) is the sweetest and checks in with everyone to answer any questions and offer suggestions. Her smile lights up the room! The sides are so fresh and light. SHORT RIB soup was mind blowing! So tender and full of flavor with the veggies and rice cakes. This will be my, go-to. Chicken wings were seasoned and battered to perfection. Juicy, crunchy and the sweet sauce was amazing. We also had a fish stew that was loaded and very memorable. Entire meal was so fresh and the restaurant itself was spotless and such a fun, casual spot to bring friends and family for a GREAT meal. Can't wait to go back!!! read more

Food was fresh and flavorful. We ordered several dishes to try and were all very good. From the neverending side dishes to the soups, mung bean pancake, main dishes and noodles. They have several locations and we decided to go to their Irvine location. A must try for Korean food. Service was excellent, owner came to our table to check on us and gave us 2 cold noodles dishes to try- both were delicious. The location is in a strip mall with several restaurants and with plenty of parking. It got very busy as we were leaving. Ambiance is good with an open concept wtables that can easily be combined to accommodate a large group. read more
We came around 8:30 pm for dinner on a Friday night. We ordered the cold noodle combo with beef ribs and a tofu pot with beef. Food 3/5 The food was descent but the prices here are expensive. The portion was small. We only got 5 pieces of beef ribs. The cold noodle was pretty good. The tofu pot didn't have much flavor. We asked for refill on the tofu skin twice and the lady gave us a 'not happy' face the second time. Hard to find parking. The portion and the prices would not bring me back again. read more

Was craving korean food and stumbled upon here. I've tried a lot of soft tofu soup and LA galbi but wow, they give you big portions here plus meat was tender and flavorful. Food tasted fresh and they were quick too! Didn't have to wait long. I especially loved the pumpkin banchan..first time trying it. Their soups are light and they even give you free bone broth while waiting to warm up the tummy. I think we came later in day so it wasn't too loud in there or too crowded. Lighting was great and table was spacious. We didn't order but I saw a squid appetizer at table next to us, I was shocked by how big the plate was cause normally most places give you little and mostly batter but it looked good. yoo's is a casual restaurant serving korean comfort foods. the irvine location had a modern interior and their menu had a wide variety of dishes. the parking lot was not too big but not too full either so finding a spot was no trouble. Bibim Naengmyun ($19.95) i'm not a fan of naengmyun tbh but we were given this as a service and i enjoyed it a lot! the dish was cold and balanced in spice and sweetness. the noodles were chewy and the veggies were crisp and refreshing. Jajang Myun ($21.54) the black bean sauce on the jajangmyun here was a bit too sweet for my liking. Tangsooyook ($23.94) the fried pork was chewy and paired nicely with the tangy sweet and sour sauce! read more

AMAZING Korean food! I came in on a weekend right at opening time, and it got busy within the first hour, which is always a good sign. I ordered the beef and vegetable cold noodles, and WOW, the flavors were incredible! The portion was huge, too. My friend got the mushroom bulgogi bibimbap, and he loved it--he's already talking about coming back. Even with the restaurant filling up quickly, the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The menu is massive, like the Cheesecake Factory of Korean food, so there's definitely something for everyone. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes. Highly recommend! read more
This is our favorite Korean restaurant in the OC. Their standout dishes are their galbi jjim (braised short ribs, we prefer the spicy version) and their icy cold Naengmyeon which really hits the spot on a hot day. We had a variety of food here and everything was really good. This place is a great place to go if you are craving Korean food because they have a variety of dishes you can pick from. This was really delicious + authentic Korean food. I think this is the best kimchi mandu I've had at a restaurant. The banchan was really fresh/well made, and everything was tasty honestly. The servers were attentive and they gave us some freebies (bone broth was good). It's super clean inside and the environment just felt good. I highly recommend visiting!! read more
A complimentary pitcher of broth as you browse through the menu. I ordered the Dolpan Ojingeo and the serving was huge! I love letting the rice set against the stone a little while longer and letting it crisp before stirring everything up. The food was filling and satisfying. We are not sure if we did something wrong or caused any inconvenience. However, when the food was handed to us, there was no verbal communication, only a visibly angry expression that made us feel uncomfortable. When I asked for a to-go box, I was stared at in a very intimidating way, which made me feel both uncomfortable and honestly a bit scared. At that moment, I decided that I would not return. We have visited this place about five times in the past, but this experience was extremely unpleasant. I am not sure whether the woman was the owner or an employee, but due to this interaction, I will not be coming back. 우리가 무엇을 잘못했는지, 혹은 어떤 점에서 불쾌하게 했는지는 모르겠습니다. 하지만 음식을 건네주실 때 아무 말도 없이 화가 난 표정으로 눈치를 주는 듯한 태도를 보였고, 테이크아웃 박스를 요청했을 때는 저를 노려보듯 째려보는 모습을 보고 매우 불편함과 두려움을 느꼈습니다. 그 순간 다시는 이곳에 오지 않겠다고 마음먹었습니다. 그동안 이곳을 약 다섯 번 정도 방문했는데, 이번 경험은 매우 불쾌했고 솔직히 무서운 경험이었습니다. 해당 직원분이 사장님이신지 직원분이신지는 모르겠지만, 이러한 응대 때문에 다시는 방문하지 않을 생각입니다. read more

It was a colder fall evening and after a long day of studying, I needed some comforting Korean food for my soul! Seolleong Tang: The broth was soothing, good noodle texture and delicious with the ox bone. It complimented the weather and warmed my tummy! Dolpan Bibbimap: It was sizzling and freshly served absolutely great tasting. The mushrooms were my favorite. Great with the kimchi, pickled radish and spicy cucumbers. Service: The hostess seated us right away from across the place. She let us pick our preferred table. She was so sweet and treated everyone like one big family with a sweet smile of greetings transitioning from English to Korean. Helping staff was quick and refilled our sides & cleaned empty dishes swiftly since we picked a smaller table Ambiance: white aesthetic tables & walls with good variation of seating for all parties. The tables were good distance apart even though it seems smaller on the outside. Overall: will come again to try more! I plan to come the day before my doctoral advancement to fuel me with homemade Korean cooking :) see you soon read more

So good I'll have to come again. We got the jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). The jjajangmyeon was flavorful and a good portion, the banchan were also good as well. The tangsuyuk came out piping hot and was super yummy. We were happy that the sweet and sour sauce came on the side, this made it perfect for leftovers since the pork wouldn't get soggy. The restaurant was clean and the staff were kind and attentive. Staff followed up to ask if we enjoyed our food and if we would want banchan refills. I saw a lot of people order soups so I will have to try that during my next visit. The only bad note is that parking can be difficult. There are several others shops in the plaza so parking is rather limited. As for the food and service, I would definitely recommend Yoo's Place. read more
I ordered the Dolpan Bibimbap. I really liked the dish and how the rice on the sides got crispy. The veggies were fresh and crunchy. The bibimbap was pretty good value. I would come back when craving bibimbap! The food came out insanely quick like 5 min after we ordered. I was craving jjampong, and my fiancé wanted soondubu, so I was really happy to find a place with a menu that had both. We both got exactly what we wanted and left completely satisfied. We were seated right away, and the service was great, super quick and friendly. The banchan came out fast and was really fresh. I especially loved the kimchi, cucumber kimchi, and eomuk. They even refilled everything 4x complementary which was a first . The bone broth they brought out was also rich and flavorful, a perfect start to the meal. My fiancé got the galbi combo with soondubu, so of course, I had to try a bite while waiting for my jjampong. The soondubu broth was deep and flavorful, and the beef was super tender, definitely one of the better ones I've had. The galbi was really tasty too, but the portion was a little small. The jjampong was amazing, It was HUGE!! The broth was rich, smoky, and full of flavor, easily one of the best I've had. It came with squid, clams, shrimp, wood ear mushrooms, and lettuce. The noodles were thinner than I expected, but they actually worked really well with the broth. I'll definitely be back, especially to bring my halmoni and will have to try other things in the menu!
