Has a variety of options - kind of like a Denny's but for Korean food. Overall quality is better than Denny's but they don't do one particular thing amazing. However, everything was good and enjoyable. Love the complimentary beef broth. Not many Korean places do that anymore. My friends really liked the nengmyun (cold noodle) Jjajjangmyun I wish the noodles were a tad thicker. Jkamppoong had a very good smoky flavor but wish there was more crab flavor. Bossam had good sides. Wish the tangsuyuk were crispier. Didn't try tofu soup. Seafood pancake was loaded with seafood and very crispy. Really enjoyed it Great service, small inside. Def a good place to visit with a big group so everyone can try what they want. Big portions too.
I came here the other day, craving Korean food and banchan! My brother's girlfriend swears by this place. We went with them because they wanted to order some cold noodle dish and have us try for the first time. All the sides were really fresh! This place makes you feel very homey and the reason why I say this is because the waitress/server was super nice! She might have been the owner also, but she served us additional dishes we did not order and that was so nice of her. Everything was well prepared, the short ribs galbi were delicious. We also never had cold noodles before, but they hit! Especially when you throw in the short ribs. I'm glad we went to have some traditional Korean food. Highly recommend coming here! I would say to expect a wait during dinner time and the dinner crowds.
Been coming here for years now. The bonchon always hits the spot and maybe my favorite in oc as of now. The spicy kalbijimm is one if my favorite dishes here and the meat is always tender. Always get the melted cheese on top, such a treat. You can't go wrong with the tofu stews or the hot stone rice bowls. The fried squid and mandu is also delicious. On a hot summer day the cold noodles hit the spot as well. Basically you can't go wrong with any of the dishes here. The service is standard no frills but always served with genuine care and the restuarant is big and generally clean and has nice ac. I also like how the table always has hot beef bone broth on the table to whet the appetite as you wait for the food, which generally comes very quickly. Will keep coming back! Always a 10/10.
After being fed several videos on IG singing the praises of Yoo's Place, I'll admit I was both hopeful and skeptical of what they showed. The former because everything looked and sounded so good; the latter because it's hard to know whether you can trust what some of these foodie accounts are saying is truthful or paid for. Given how I write Yelp reviews, the irony in saying that doesn't escape me. However, now that I've been here several times, I can happily report that everything those IG accounts said was entirely true! Even though their complex isn't very large (parking is usually easy, but it can be scarce at time), Yoo's Place itself is decently large and always seems to have tables available for groups large or small. Similarly, their menu is rather extensive as well, to the point where it took us a while to figure out what we wanted to try most the first time we came here. Whether it be their appetizers, soups, stews, cold noodles, hot noodles, BBQ meats, stone pot dishes, bossam, broiled fish, galbijjim, and even omurice and Chinese dishes. In short, too many dishes for me to try before finally writing this! -- BANCHAN For the most part, all of these were great! Of the bunch, the fishcakes, kimchi, and radish were my favorites. I also like the kabocha a lot, but they sometimes slather too much mayo/sauce. -- HAEMUL PAJUN - Seafood & Green Onion Pancake As weird as it is to say, this almost came with too many goodies, as it was chock full of seafood and green onions. Definitely a nice problem to have, but I do wish there had been a bit more batter to make this crispier. -- HAEMUL KALGUKSU - Homemade Noodles with Seafood I don't get this often, so I don't know how it compares to others, but this tasted so good! The noodles had such a nice chew to them and I love that they didn't skimp on the seafood. Plus, the portion is large enough where you could easily stretch this into two meals! -- SEOLLEONG TANG - Ox Bone Soup Similar to the Haemul Kalguksu, this was one hearty bowl of soup! The broth was rich and beefy, there were several large chunks of meat, and there was a lot of noodles in this. Plus, I liked that they also included a lot of veggies and strips of eggs, too. -- DAKNALGAE TWIGIM - Deep Fried Chicken Wings Despite falling a bit short of what we hoped for, this was still pretty solid. While the portion initially seemed light (only about eight wings), each piece was HUGE, the batter was crispy, and the chicken itself was juicy. I just wish it had been a little more flavorful. -- LA GALBI & (SUKEO) SOON TOFU COMBO - Marinated Beef Short Rib and Seafood & Beef Soon Tofu Soup The LA Galbi was great - meaty, well marinated, tender, lightly charred, and the portion was sizable for a combo. As for the Soon Tofu, it was terrific! The tofu soup was rich and hearty, had a good mix of beef and seafood, and was just so comforting. -- JAJANG MYUN - Noodles with Black Bean, Pork, Cream Sauce Maybe it's because I haven't had a legit Korean Jajang Myun in ages, but this was pretty good! The noodles were perfect and I love how it came loaded with plenty of pork and onions. The sauce had a bit of an aftertaste to it, but I still liked this. -- KODUNGAE - Broiled Mackerel This was delicious! Compared to the one we had at BCD, this one was deboned better and was just as big, if not bigger. Plus, not only was it still really moist, but the mackerel still had some crispy edges, too. -- KALBIJJIM - Braised Short Ribs While I do wish this had more chili peppers in this (it was really yellow), the taste of this was still awesome. More importantly, there was a fair amount of short ribs, which were so tender and meaty, along with rice noodles, glass noodles, cheese, and vegetables. SO GOOD! -- NAENGMYUN - Sliced Beef & Vegetables over Noodles with Spicy Sauce This was on the house (possibly from ordering the kalbijjim) and, even though it might have been a scaled down version of the dish, this was still so good! The noodles had the perfect chew, there was just a touch of heat, and the overall flavors were amazing! In addition to the food, the service here is fantastic. All of the workers are super friendly and the kitchen gets dishes out very quickly. What's more, the workers will happily refill any banchan dishes and every table comes with a small thermos of beef bone broth that is just so PERFECTLY DELICIOUS! Even when it's hot out, it still hits the spot - it's just so warm and comforting! Honestly, it's one of my favorite things at Yoo's Place! With so many options in Irvine and around the rest of OC, I know there may very well be better places than Yoo's Place, especially when it comes to a specific dish. However, I can't imagine that Yoo's Place isn't among the best of the bunch. At the very least, it's the best I've tried thus far and I wouldn't hesitate to keep coming back even as I try more places in OC!
Super yummy and homestyle Korean food! Each dish has been super hot and yummy. They have really good side dishes as well especially the acorn jelly! The parking lot tends to fill up pretty quickly since there are a lot of other spots in the area so it's best to come early.
Came here around 5:45 PM and it was busy but no line -- always a good sign. The interior is super bright and welcoming, and most of the staff are ajummas, which honestly gives it that comforting, homey Korean diner vibe. You can tell this place has a strong base of regulars too, I saw a mix of friend groups and families casually walking in like it's their go-to spot. We ordered the cold noodles combo with jokbal (pork hock) for $30.95. Portion wise, it's SOLID for two people. The cold noodles were refreshing and really hit the spot, especially if you like that clean, slightly tangy flavor. The jokbal was very decent. Not bad, but if you've had it in Korea, you'll notice it doesn't quite hit the same level still totally "usable," just not standout. Value, this is where they win. We got full off just one combo, which is rare these days. Plus, all the usual Korean side dishes are complimentary, and they also served a warm bone broth at no extra cost. I've honestly never had that offered like this before, and it made the whole meal feel extra comforting and homey. Small detail, but I also appreciated that the table was already fully set up with bowls, utensils, and water which makes everything efficient. Overall, really solid experience. It actually gave me a bit of that Seoul nostalgia, which is hard to replicate. Definitely coming back to try more dishes.
First time at Yoo's Place and I felt like I stumbled upon a hidden gem. There are so many items on the menu here, but I was really wanting naengmyun after a beach day. The restaurant wasn't that busy when I went. Super clean, the server was so sweet, and the food came out so fast. The banchan was on the sweeter side. I really enjoyed their kimchi and bean sprouts. My naengmyun came out shortly after the banchan, and I was so surprised by how big the portion was! It had a good amount of meat and cucumber too. It was so much that I was able to take home half. I look forward to coming back and trying more dishes out!
We went to Yoo's Place with a huge party. The food came out delicious and in a timely matter despite the amount we ordered. I especially loved the warm bone broth they served at no extra cost. I've never had anything like that before and it felt very homey. My favorite dish was definitely the ribs with cheese. I love that it was so cheesy and that they cut up the meat from the bones for you. Though the meat was so tender that it might not have mattered, but a nice gesture indeed. The cold noodle soups were so comforting and a great complement to the ribs!
This is my 3rd time at Yoo's place. I gotta say, their food is so consistent and Delicious! 10/10. No.1 for me is the Hotpot with Shortrib and potato. We ordered a medium and they gave a generous portion. The flavor is so unique, savory and tangey broth. It was served with chewy vermicilli. Also recommend: Bossam, Tobbokki and ramen. I also tried their Bulgogi before and it was amazing too. The service was fast though the restaurant was always busy.
We heard this place has good Korean food, so we came here. Bibimbap (9.1/10) - Not the best I had, it is slightly overly oily... Still not bad though, I enjoyed it. Daknalgae Twigim or fried chicken (8.6/10) - I am usually not a fan of fried food, but it is still good. It is crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The seasoning isn't as spicy as I thought. Good flavor. Jajang Myun (8/10) - It was alright. I don't taste much meat flavored, mostly the black bean sauce. The noodles are chewy but slightly soggy.
《냉면으로 시작된 가족사》 -- 제6회 Bossam Redemption & The Take-Out Salvation April 23, 2024 -- Bossam Redemption We finally ordered the bossam. And immediately realized this dish was not meant for amateurs. Three rows of thick-cut pork belly, glistening like it just descended from pork heaven itself. Juicy. Tender. Ridiculously satisfying. Wrap it in cabbage and then the flavor avalanche hits: %@#&*!... Eyes roll back. Cabbage crunch. Shrimp brine punch. Nutty ssamjang. Raw garlic kick. Jalapeño heat. Anger. Tears. Joy. All at the same time. It's too #$&@ good*. Then came the spicy pork bulgogi (dwaeji bulgogi) -- served sizzling on a hot stone plate. And I mean sizzling. I even filmed it because dat sizzle though. Greasy. Spicy. Onion-loaded. Exactly what this dish should be. And importantly -- not overly sweet like some places that try to westernize Korean food. Yeah... Yoo's Place isn't doing that. They're just cooking real Korean food. Fast forward.... June 18, 2025 -- Survival Mode Kids get bigger. Sleep gets rarer. Life gets louder. This was one of those days where nobody had energy for anything, so I swung by Yoo's Place after work to grab takeout for the family. Honestly it's worth the drive no matter where you're coming from -- even if you pass ten other Korean restaurants on the way. Right before leaving I paused at the doorway. Turned around. Closed my eyes. Took one deep breath. Just filling my lungs with that home-cooked Korean comfort smell before heading back into the chaos. Then I walked out carrying a bag full of happiness for my exhausted wife and my two slightly feral children. (Next time I may add a bottle of soju for mental health purposes.) Also -- I think I met the daughter of the owners when picking up the order. First time noticing her there -- she might be the one running their Instagram lately. Super friendly. Super welcoming. Worthy mention.... 그리고... "와 완전 연예인급이네... 아이돌인 줄 알았잖아. 진짜 예쁘시다 대박." (whispers: just in case my wife reads this review... she doesn't speak Korean ) Luna is now 7. Jameson is almost 2. service is fast and friendly! food has consistently been good at an affordable cost compared to some places. i really love the taste of their broth in the cold noodle dish. they also give complimentary hot soup in a thermos once you sit down. galbi is well flavored and very tender. busy ambiance but relaxing as well. good place to take friends and family.
I wanted to support a local business, but the staff was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Seconds after placing my order, I walked over to ask nicely to change it, and the server snapped at me that she had already put it into the computer. When my boyfriend tried to calmly intervene, two of the servers started yelling at him as well. They blamed us for arriving "too late" at 8:30 PM, claiming that because they were closing the kitchen at 9:30 PM, they absolutely would not change the order. This behavior is completely unacceptable. The servers here seriously need training on basic customer service and how to speak to guests with a minimum level of respect. No one deserves to be treated the way we were tonight. Please save your money and go somewhere that actually values its customers.
We got here around 6:30 pm on a Friday night and there were plenty of seats but they quickly filled soon after. I got the spicy pork hot stone plate and it was huge! It was pretty oily so it was hard to eat too much of it. I really liked that they had both broth and water available to drink at the tables. The sides were also really good. I probably would return but try another dish rather than the hot stone pots. My friend got a cold noodle and I really enjoyed the taste of that broth. I'm so happy to have found this place. I avoid so many good asian places because parking is terrible, but this plaza has tons of parking in the garage downstairs so parking is a cinch. There's plenty of tables inside and I didn't have to wait to get seated. They also play Korean shows inside which is always nice while waiting for food. The menu is pretty vast, but full on yummy looking dishes. I ordered the Soon Tofu Combo with Beef soon tofu and Bulgogi. This is some of the best Korean food I've had in this area. The banchan is also super delicious and had a couple dishes I haven't tried before. I'm so glad they had free refills. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu! read more
Came here for dinner on a Saturday night and it was super packed! Parking is limited so park in the free parking garage below... plenty of space. Maybe people don't know about the parking garage and keep circling, crowding the plaza to find parking. Anywhos, I ordered the Naengmyeon spicy cold noodle, and it was super delicious! Food was amazing along with the side dishes they give you, missing my favorite potato one but it's okay... customer service was excellent, the lady was so sweet to check up on me a couple of times since I was dining solo. Clean and cozy, and wait isn't too long even though it's always packed here. They have this marker board outside so that's where you sign you name on the waitlist. read more

I've eaten here many times because the food and service are so good Every time I'm here I get the beef kalbi, a tofu top and something new. The cold noodle with spicy sauce is also delicious even though it's not one of my personal staples. One of my favorite parts about this place is they have a thermos with hot broth which you can drink throughout your meal. This broth is just it's so flavorful and not too salty. The service is also relatively fast, which is nice during rush hours (tho you still have to wait awhile), and it is first come first serve but I know I won't have to bug them because they are very attentive. read more
Yoo's Place is in a medium sized plaza with an underground parking garage with plenty of spaces. *parking tip* Go down the garage, turn left twice, drive down and park near the stairs. Those stairs will take you directly in front of the restaurant. Came for Friday Lunch ~12:30PM and the place was 75% full. The table comes with hot broth that soothes the soul. I wish every restaurant provided this. Food - Chic Bibim Naengmyun. I've only tried Naengmyun a handful of times, but this was the best I've had so far. I appreciate how they give you a small side of iced broth to add yourself so the noodles don't get soggy or too cold before it arrives. The flavor was perfect. And the noodles were cut by the waitress to the perfect length, not too long or short. Service - Service was quick and kind. Once we sat down the ajumma asked if we were ready to order which shows how many people come in for a quick lunch fix. After ordering the banchan was plated quickly and the main dishes came soon after. We were asked if we wanted any banchan refills halfway through our meal which was nice. I came with my partner around 3pm on a Tuesday, and was welcomed to an almost completely empty restaurant- ample seating! The start you off with some complimentary soup, which we didn't know what it was at first, because it wasn't explained, and just came in a black water bottle. It was a nice introduction to the cuisine, I believe it was beef broth. We ordered Tuna Kimchi Fried Rice, Tang Soo Yuk, and Jjajangmyun. Portion sizes were perfect and filling! We each finished our own entrees and shared the tang soo yuk, which we took home. The Tang Soo Yuk was my winner and my absolute favorite. It was crunchy, yet easy to bite into. The SAUCE?! PERFECT!!! I would drive far miles to come back if I were craving Tang Soo Yuk. The staff was nice and attentive. They refilled sides and mixed our bibimbap. The entire time, I felt like I was welcomed into someone's home, and made dinner to enjoy after a long day. 5 STARS for the banchan side dishes, especially the kimchee (and I am not a big kimchee fan.) Good service too, empty dishes are quickly refilled. 5 STARS for the stone pot rice. We ordered beef and mushroom and it really hit the spot. 3 stars for jjamppong seafood noodle soup (good flavor, not too spicy, not too much seafood either, lots of chopped cabbage which is disappointing.) My favorite version of jjamppong seafood noodle soup is "Little China" in Gardena, absolutely worth the drive if you are craving this. 3 stars for ambience. bright, functional, cafeteria-style dining room Instead of hot tea, they give you hot bone broth which is OK, too much white pepper IMO. The portions of mains and appetizers here are GINORMOUS. 2 people can easily share 1 dish plus all the banchans you can eat. Will definitely return for more stone pot rice. Yum! read more

The owner I think gave us complimentary dumplings to try and complimentary cold noodle soup after we ordered the kalbijiim stew with cheese because she made a recommendation and said this will be really refreshing and cool you down after eating the stew: and she was right. Delicious Korean food! The food was fresh, yummy, and tasted authentic! My husband and I ordered the Kalbi, Dolpan Kimchi Jaeyuk, and Jjajangmyun. Before the meal, they brought out assorted banchan which I loved! I wasn't sure of all the things I tried, but I ended up really enjoying most of them. They also gave us soup. The food came out pretty fast! Really enjoyed the Dolpan Kimchi Jaeyuk. I especially loved how some of the rice on the bottom got charred and crispy. The Kalbi was also quite yummy and had good flavor. The weakest dish was the Jajangmyun. It was fine, but compared to the other two, was not nearly as flavorful. I also thought the sauce was a little on the oily side and didn't coat the noodles as well as other Jajangmyuns I've had. Overall, yummy Korean food! read more
Wow! What a tasty place! I was craving some soondubu and wanted to try somewhere not named BCD Tofu and found this location. While the ambiance feels kind of like a cafeteria with the bright flourescents and only the sounds of people eating with no background music, you don't think about it much because you're too concentrated on the food. I got the seafood soondubu and bulgogi combo and price was comparable with other locations. However, the amount of seafood you get in your soup is bonkers! Every spoonful had a piece of squid, shrimp, clam, or mussel. I got so full after a few bites because there was so much protein. The tofu was very soft and silky and the broth was great, the medium spicy was actually medium spicy! My Korean husband got the cold noodles and said "FIVE BIG KOREAN BOOMS! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!" The galbi and bulgogi tasted homemade. Even the banchan was super delicious. He said it was one of the best combinations/selections he's had at a Korean restaurant. The bone broth you start off with was also a nice touch. Service was no frills and fast. The food came out in like less than 10 minutes. The standout of this casual Korean restaurant was the pitcher of complimentary bone broth that they serve at the beginning of the meal, I loved that they put a lot of white pepper. The soup made the start of my meal so comforting and relaxing. While some of the shared dishes were a little expensive, all of the noodles and soups were more affordable. I tried the haemul kalguksu, which was soothing and filling. I was only able to finish half of my soup and had leftovers for later. Soooooo good! Korean food for the soul recently had dinner here with friends and we the service was great, they checked on us frequently and made sure we ate food the right way (lol). Galentine's 2/14/25 lunch at Yoo's and it was a great choice. Good food all around with good gal friends. We ordered several items and everything is delicious. I am a fan of tofu soon and I ordered the beef soon. Lots of beef and tofu. The soup is not as flavorful as BCD but still good. The sides are delicious and they were generous about coming around and refilling. My gal pals ordered cold noodle, black bean noodle and fried sweet and sour pork. All were delicious. Parking at ground level is limited but they have an underground structure for the whole center with a lot of spaces. Comfortable inside seating. Good service. Spicy crab- 3/5: I came to try their new dish and I thought it was okay. There weren't that many crabs. Maybe 3 soft shell crabs total if you add up all the halves and they were on the smaller side so not much meat to eat. The rest was just onions underneath. The sauce was good, but not spicy. 56. Jajang Myun- 3/5: It was a bit bland. I'm unsure if that was because it truly was bland or because the spicy crab sauce had so much more flavor in comparison. read more

Monday, June 17, 2024 Food is always great. Beware of the rush peak hours... the lines are long. A MUST is their galbitang! If you have not tried their soup drink that they give you is 10/10. TLDR: Easily the BEST Korean restaurant I've ever eaten at, and I've been to quite a list. Without hesitation, Yoo's Place will always make it onto my OC Itinerary whenever I'm in town. - - - - - - Yoo's Place better be your (go to) place, because WOW were the tastes here next level. If I could rank this in my 6/5, I would. The interior is quite cozy, not too much walking space, but a very nice atmosphere. What surprised me was that upon seating, there was a black carafe staring at me. Usually at Korean restaurants, it's a clear one filled with water... and to my surprise it was filled with warm bone broth - wow did that feel like home! I ordered my usual Mixed Soon Tofu; eating alone makes it difficult to order larger dishes. Soon, the side dishes arrived, and when I took the first bite, I knew I was in for a TREAT. The seasoned acorn jelly was the perfect balance of salty and sweet, the sweet and spicy of the radish, kimchi, and cucumbers were spot on. The pink radish? Lightly sweet, refreshing, and snacky. The fish cakes, my least favorite, marinated to perfection... ate 'em all! The next notice was when the Mixed Soon Tofu arrived, the ingredients were such generous portions. Having eaten at a variety of Korean restaurants, Yoo's Place really packs that bowl! Add on an egg and fluffy rice... mmmm! Really can't find a single thing to not like about Yoo's Place! Paying was interesting, with the check handed over within five minutes, though my taste buds were too captivated to notice. With one main cashier / server at the time of visit, I was impressed with how well she took care of the 10-15 parties there - even checking in on the food and drink! AMAZING Korean cold noodle options here! I loved my boyfriend's Chic Bibim Naengmyun and enjoyed my Chic Nul Naengmyun. The Seafood Pancake was made well here, but super thick for just two people so I recommend it for bigger parties. Would definitely order the Chic Nul Naengmyun next time - it's a little bit spicy, but not intolerable spicy so I'll be able to eat it next time, heh. The sides were bomb as well! The only downside is that you aren't allowed to take home any naengmyun leftovers if you have any :( read more
Called in to place my order of combo tofu soup and beef bulgulgi. The interior was very nice and clean and the place was located along with a lot of other shops so there is limited parking. I really enticed my soup! It was nice and spicy per my request, even after adding my rice! The portion was quite large which was a pleasant surprise. The packaging was very nice and made it easy for my to eat back in my hotel room too. The beef bulgulgi wasn't too impressive but the soup made up for that. The service was very quick and efficient. Decided to try this place out based on the good reviews it had. However it was a very disappointing experience. When I walked in, service was unwelcoming, they tried to shove me into a small corner table next to a full loud party. I asked if I could sit at a more quiet space since there were plenty of open seatings. The server agreed, but shortly after another staff rudely pointed me to go to the corner again. I should've just left then to save my stomach. I ordered the combination tofu stew and galbi. and both were disappointing. Wow wow wow! Becky (owner) is the sweetest and checks in with everyone to answer any questions and offer suggestions. Her smile lights up the room! The sides are so fresh and light. SHORT RIB soup was mind blowing! So tender and full of flavor with the veggies and rice cakes. This will be my, go-to. Chicken wings were seasoned and battered to perfection. Juicy, crunchy and the sweet sauce was amazing. We also had a fish stew that was loaded and very memorable. Entire meal was so fresh and the restaurant itself was spotless and such a fun, casual spot to bring friends and family for a GREAT meal. Can't wait to go back!!! read more
