The Seafood Pancake was made well here, but super thick for just two people so I recommend it for bigger parties. Would definitely order the Chic Nul Naengmyun next time - it's a little bit spicy, but not intolerable spicy so I'll be able to eat it next time, heh. The sides were bomb as well! Called in to place my order of combo tofu soup and beef bulgulgi. The interior was very nice and clean and the place was located along with a lot of other shops so there is limited parking. I really enticed my soup! It was nice and spicy per my request, even after adding my rice! The portion was quite large which was a pleasant surprise. The packaging was very nice and made it easy for my to eat back in my hotel room too. The beef bulgulgi wasn't too impressive but the soup made up for that. The service was very quick and efficient. When I walked in, service was unwelcoming, they tried to shove me into a small corner table next to a full loud party. I asked if I could sit at a more quiet space since there were plenty of open seatings. The server agreed, but shortly after another staff rudely pointed me to go to the corner again. The portion was small. We only got 5 pieces of beef ribs. The cold noodle was pretty good. The tofu pot didn't have much flavor. We went to Yoo's last Wednesday afternoon at 12:15 . I was looking forward to trying it. It was half full. There's a huge menu. The server came over immediately, no smile, no welcome, and we said we need time to look at the menu. She was back in two minutes. Again, we said we need time. She was back two minutes later and I asked about the combos. She seemed annoyed but answered my question. She was back a minute later ( the 4th time in maybe 6 minutes ). I said we haven't been here before and it's a large menu. Angry face, then she told us, ".,,. you need to hurry and order now. I'm busy." So rude. I wasn't going to spend any money there. And all the dishes we were considering were $25 -$30. We got up and left and counted 6 empty tables. Further, after checking out the Yelp reviews I noticed quite a few reviews about the rude service. yoo's is a casual restaurant serving korean comfort foods. the irvine location had a modern interior and their menu had a wide variety of dishes. the parking lot was not too big but not too full either so finding a spot was no trouble. Bibim Naengmyun ($19.95) i'm not a fan of naengmyun tbh but we were given this as a service and i enjoyed it a lot! the dish was cold and balanced in spice and sweetness. the noodles were chewy and the veggies were crisp and refreshing. Jajang Myun ($21.54) the black bean sauce on the jajangmyun here was a bit too sweet for my liking. This is my third time coming to this place, and usually food and service are standard. Unfortunately the one time I decide to bring my family, I had an unpleasant experience. In my group of 5, we were planning to share the cold noodle combo with spicy pork and also share the jeyuk and kimchi hot stone plate and that was going to be the perfect amount of food for my group. Especially since two of my family members dont eat much but they wanted to spend time with me and taste the dishes. However, the lady taking our orders told us that one entree and one combo is not enough for a group of five. Since it was rush hour we had to order more or else they wont serve us. After saying that the lady left our table and ignored us for 5 minutes. My family insisted to just order more food and take the leftovers home, so we did.... And guess what, we ended up having to take leftovers home... The food was good, but I ate my food with frustration. However, when the food was handed to us, there was no verbal communication, only a visibly angry expression that made us feel uncomfortable. It was a colder fall evening and after a long day of studying, I needed some comforting Korean food for my soul! Seolleong Tang: The broth was soothing, good noodle texture and delicious with the ox bone. It complimented the weather and warmed my tummy! Dolpan Bibbimap: It was sizzling and freshly served absolutely great tasting. The mushrooms were my favorite. Great with the kimchi, pickled radish and spicy cucumbers. Service: The hostess seated us right away from across the place. She let us pick our preferred table. She was so sweet and treated everyone like one big family with a sweet smile of greetings transitioning from English to Korean. Helping staff was quick and refilled our sides & cleaned empty dishes swiftly since we picked a smaller table Ambiance: white aesthetic tables & walls with good variation of seating for all parties. I usually went to the Buena Park location because it was one of my go to stops where the manager/owner even recognized us and engaged with us every time we went to go eat. Literally the sweetest lady ever and even remembered i would come with my daughter all the time. She is the only reason I'll give this place 3 stars but i know she cares about the business. I came in here for lunch and ordered cold noodles, the minute I ordered the cold noodles she already gave me the stare and rolled her eyes because I feel like this is the one dish that everybody comes to order and because it's a single dish, they probably don't get a lot of tip out of it compared to a bigger party. I actually observed her treat customers the same exact way and decided to look on Yelp to see if anyone else complained and guess what the same experience and same complaint about how the lady was being rude. Before I even finished my meal, she dropped the check and didn't say one word just literally put the check and tried to leave . Didn't ask if i wanted anything SO i asked her instead. And guess what! When i did she didn't even respond she gave me a rude look and walked to give me more. Please don't hire people that hate their job or hate working with customers because this is not acceptable. I have never ate at a place where i felt literally unwanted in my entire life and me being Korean I understand how they can be but this lady was a whole nother level of rude. Side dishes were very tasty, some were a tad too sweet tho. I got the soulongtang soup which had a good amount of meat and the soup was good not gamey. Oh and they salted the soup already. The Tofu soup had good broth and beef was tender but the soon tofu could be served hotter. Can't wait to go back for my Korean fix and try their other dishes. So good I'll have to come again. We got the jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). The jjajangmyeon was flavorful and a good portion, the banchan were also good as well. The tangsuyuk came out piping hot and was super yummy. We were happy that the sweet and sour sauce came on the side, this made it perfect for leftovers since the pork wouldn't get soggy. The restaurant was clean and the staff were kind and attentive. Staff followed up to ask if we enjoyed our food and if we would want banchan refills. I saw a lot of people order soups so I will have to try that during my next visit. The only bad note is that parking can be difficult. There are several others shops in the plaza so parking is rather limited. Service: quick and friendly. A lot of things were already out so you didn't have to request it. Like utensils on the side, napkin holder, cold water and even hot broth. Nice little touches. Price: reasonable for the portion. More reasonable than a lot of other places. I like that they don't charge for every bowl of rice and for more banchan (some Korean restaurants started charging for these things and it really starts to add up). Food: this is where they falter a little. Their soft tofu stew and kalbi doesn't taste as good as at other soft tofu stew specialized places. Not sure what it is, but it just isn't the same. However, I really enjoyed the spicy cold noodles. Their banchans were also really good. Their side hot broth- also really good. I would definitely return. I was craving jjampong, and my fiancé wanted soondubu, so I was really happy to find a place with a menu that had both. We both got exactly what we wanted and left completely satisfied. We were seated right away, and the service was great, super quick and friendly. The banchan came out fast and was really fresh. I especially loved the kimchi, cucumber kimchi, and eomuk. They even refilled everything 4x complementary which was a first . The bone broth they brought out was also rich and flavorful, a perfect start to the meal. My fiancé got the galbi combo with soondubu, so of course, I had to try a bite while waiting for my jjampong. The soondubu broth was deep and flavorful, and the beef was super tender, definitely one of the better ones I've had. The galbi was really tasty too, but the portion was a little small. The jjampong was amazing, It was HUGE!! The broth was rich, smoky, and full of flavor, easily one of the best I've had. It came with squid, clams, shrimp, wood ear mushrooms, and lettuce. The noodles were thinner than I expected, but they actually worked really well with the broth. I'll definitely be back, especially to bring my halmoni and will have to try other things in the menu! We called the owner, and unbelievably, she claimed they "don't serve any fish dishes," even though it's right there on the menu. We wanted to try Yoo's because we saw it when we went for drinks at Bober Tea on the weekend. I was in the mood for a noodle soup, so the boss lady recommended the knife-cut noodles, and the portion was huge, and the taste was so on point. I've been to other places where it tastes bland, but not here. It warmed my soul. It had a ton of mini clams and some veggies. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the broth really hit the spot. I think potatoes would be an awesome addition, but it was still really good without. My daughter got the sulungtang, and she loved it. My boy got the dukkmandooguk, and he liked it. I tasted the mandoo, and it was okay. I appreciate purple rice and the side dishes. I would say a lot of the side dishes were on the sweeter side. Their spicy cold noodles are really good, but it's on the sweeter side if you like it that way. The jajang myun was on the sweeter side too. The food came out quickly. The lady server was nice. I didn't get to try the broth in the thermos, but my kids did, and they liked it. Water cups are small, so make sure you let them know you want water in advance, as in, anticipate your need for a water jug refill when she's there giving you your food because ours wasn't refilled even though we asked; no biggie, though, because we went to Bober Tea for drinks after.
