I'm using the yorktown laundry mat over here right next to the cleaners I don't know how the cleaners are but the laundry mat that I used for years was to be so great. They used to clean all the washers the washers filled with the right amount of water nothing was ever bad, pretty reasonably priced anyway now I'm here today. I will never come back again. None of the washers are getting water in them and they don't even look like they're cleaning my clothes. They look like they're just spinning it around dry and I know there's soap left in my clothes I've had to spend a fortune. He raised the washers up about a dollar each honestly it's it's not even good then he's locked the bathroom. No one's allowed to use the restroom here anymore. If they had an attendant here it wouldn't be a problem, but he doesn't want to have an attendant or anybody else that cares about the damn place so we're just paying a fortune to get nothing clean I'm gonna have to take them and wash them again somewhere else. This is a really, really bad deal . I don't know if there's a new owner but I feel like it's a slumlord owner of this laundromat right in the middle of Huntington Beach on Yorktown in Brookhurst. It's ridiculous. He doesn't take care of it and I've done my laundry here forever and I noticed also hardly anyone else is doing laundry here so maybe they got the picture First, I want to make sure that everyone is clear that I did not talk about the dry, cleaners next-door. This coin fed laundry facility is by far the best in the area! All the machines actually work, the dryers dry & it is competitively priced. The employees keep the business clean & stocked with everything you should need (& if for some reason you need something they don't carry-there is a 7-11 less than a minute walk from the location & a Little Caesar's). Most places in this area are unclean & being over run by the homeless-not this location. Is a great place to do laundry regardless of size (they can accommodate whatever needs you may have). 5 stars all the way-my hat is off to the management & employees. Well, it's going to sound, from other reviews, that we are reviewing different cleaners, but we're not. I've been using this cleaners/tailoring service for close to 10 years, based on my cousin's recommendation who is VERY PICKY about her clothes. Mary is one of the finest seamstresses I have ever met and resized an entire bridesmaid's dress for my daughter's wedding in 2011, under a tight deadline and quite reasonably! They are not as close to some of the other cleaners in my area but I do travel a few miles to have ALL our cleaning and alterations done at her shop. While Mary and her husband may not be proficient in English, they do understand English, and DO react favorably to smiles and occasional tips (does anyone ever think of tipping their cleaners OR smiling at them?). If I may, I must respond to Matthew: 1) As far as complaining about accepting credit cards with a fee, have you been to an ARCO station or nail salon lately? The service fee is still there. 2) If you see all the clothes they have in their shop, wouldn't YOU roll your eyes and sign if a non-regular came in without their ticket? 3) Did you have all these occurrences happen during one visit? If so, why did you go back? 4) Candidly, you don't sound like an easy going person to me, but I know I can get riled up when many things happen that may be avoided as I am sure you did. And, yes, I would agree with you and Mary, that you should avoid her shop at all costs. For me I will use this cleaners/alteration establishment as long as they are in business. read more

I love this place. The lady that owns this place has always helped me even if I needed it done in a hurry. They even hemmed by pants on a 1/2 hour one time when needed same day. Last time I was there I had a grease stain that wouldn't come out so she told me to come back tomorrow and when I did she was able to remove the stain. They are very friendly and helpful. As far as people complaining about fees for a card, I was never charged a fee and I always use my debit card here. I highly recommend this place and will not go anywhere else. You should give this place a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

I have been coming here with my mom since I was around 5 years old and I am now 23 and have never once had an issue with the people who own this business or the work they do. The woman there is so kind and helpful and does an amazing job, I have recommended her to 4 of my friends and they all said she did a great job fixing their bridesmaid dress, cleaning their wedding dress etc. I have nothing but good things to say. read more

I don't write many reviews but I feel like I really need to get on here to warn all that will listen. There are about 2,000 dry cleaners in the surrounding 2 mile radius, I am picking another shop now. 1. They accept credit cards but add a fee. Who still does that? 2. The woman that runs the shop speaks bad English and is always in a bad mood. 3. If you forget or lose the stub they give you when you drop your things off, she gets very upset and sighs and rolls her eyes. Who still writes a receipt on a little stub? 4. I have had 3, that's THREE items go in and come back with spots still on them. Each time I had to argue with the owner to fix the problem. One time it was a shower curtain and I didn't see that the spot was still there until I got home and there was a sticker on the curtain that said something like "sorry we couldn't get your stain out". It was a HUGE stain and I am almost certain another shop could get the stain out. It was pet urine which is pretty basic. 5. Now this last thing has left my head spinning. I dropped my pants and 2 shirts off. I came back to pick things up on Friday afternoon. I glanced at the clothes she brought out to just make sure my suit pants were there. I noticed that the very large spot on the thigh of my pants was still there. She sighed and guffawed when I pointed it out to her. She pulled her glasses out and got up close to it as if it wasn't a 3" by 3" dark stain (which I had pointed out to her and she put a piece of tape on when I dropped it off). She said that she would have it for Monday. Unfortunately I had to have the suit for Sunday whether or not it was clean. Anyway, it ended up with her YELLING at me and telling me how bad of a customer I was. She said to me "I knew when I saw you that you were a terrible customer". Really, I am not. I am an easy going person. She told me to come back the next day, Saturday, at 6:30 to get the pants. I asked her what time she closed and she said "5 PM". . .Ummmmmm. . .I showed up at 4:30 PM and the pants were there. . .I inspected them and guess what. .they still had a .25"x.25" stain on it!!!! I pointed it out to her and she had the same routine; glasses came out, huffing and puffing, and she says to me "It is just a little spot" . . . . Seriously? A little spot but they didn't clean it!!! Please, please avoid this place at ALL costs. They do a terrible job and were very rude. There are plenty of other dry cleaners in the area. read more

I am a resident of HB and have been utlilizing the various services of Yorktown Cleaners for 10 years now & since I work in Fountain Valley, even when I move out to North Tustim for a year, I continued with them. Initially I utilized their laundry service for about 8 months when I was working full time & going through a college degree completion program. Their drycleaning services are very good & best of all. Mary is an excellent seamtress, always patient & kind with my various alterations needed as tall woman. Oh. my. goodness. I'm not much of a Yelp reviewer but this is a story in and of itself. After using this cleaners for about a year with average experience, I bring in a simple, lined black dress and come back two weeks later to pick it up. The lady tells me at that time that it was "ruined" but she thinks it can be fixed and to please return later. I come back two more times with her saying the same thing and eventually alluding to me that she will need to pay me for the dress. After a month of back and forth, I ask her to call me and please let me know the status since I'm unsure why I'm pursuing her so aggressively when it's her mistake. She never did call to check in. When I finally printed a picture of the dress and find the online receipt and bring it in, she says and I quote "this isn't the dress, the dress you brought in didn't have pink in it. It was much cheaper looking, no more than $20". Ok, who the heck brings in a $20 dress to the cleaners?? The dress was $110 and I was firm about asking for the whole amount. She refused and said she was going to fix it and would "call me". After two more weeks, she calls and said the person she accidentally gave it to found it in her closet and had returned it! (Surprise, surprise - it has a little pink and is the exact dress I brought a picture of!) I have no idea why she lied in the first place and said it was ruined, so confusing. I drive over the next day I am so relieved to get this darn dress back and as I'm lifting it from her hands, she says "that will be $8". I'm not kidding, she charged me!
