I was shocked and horrified at the treatment I received tonight!! My fiancé and I have been long-time customers of Yo's, and have always regarded them as one of our favorite restaurants. After our experience with their staff and Evelyn (the owner) tonight, I will never eat there again. They showed me tonight that they have no regard for customer service, and have no place in a town where successful businesses are founded on long time customer relationships. My fiancé was given a $100 Yo's gift card from our friends for her 50th birthday last week. We decided to use it tonight for dinner with another couple. When I used the card to apply to the meal, the server came back and said that there was no money on the card. Embarrassed, I drove home and found the gift receipt while the rest of my party waited at the restaurant. When I returned and showed the receipt to the owner (Evelyn), she made up a story about some other person who came by to purchase the card for us, but didn't have the money so she gave them the card after they promised to pay them later (weird story, right?). She said that if she used the card we gave her, she would be "out a hundred bucks". She wanted us to pay the full bill on our own credit card and deal with it another time, so that she could clear the table and make room for another customer. Instead, I called our friend who purchased the gift card and put them on the phone with her. After they explained how the card was purchased, she acknowledged that the gift card was legitimately purchased and her employee never actually applied the amount to the card. Evelyn, however, made no effort to apologize for the mix up. I explained how the whole experience was very embarrassing, but she had no sympathy. She expressed more annoyance than anything else, and walked away in a huff. I am really disappointed in this whole experience, and have vowed to never visit Yo's again. There are many great restaurants in Danville, who truly care about their customers, and I would recommend that you don't waste your time going to Yo's. read more

This place has excellent food and service. My boyfriend had the steak..it was like butter it was so good. A little noisy but worth trying.

I cannot recommend Yo's more, especially the bartender Olivia. I have found her to be nothing but professional and friendly. She is knowledgeable about not only drinks, but the food that is served, as well and I have never regretted taking her recommendation on either. Wasn't impressed with the sushi all. Didn't taste fresh or of great quality at all. It wasn't horrible but we have definitely had way better sushi elsewhere. Miso soup didn't even taste good. Enjoyed my time at Yo's! Price:$13-$20 rolls Cocktails = GREAT! (get the Peach Pleasure) Salmon Egg Rolls = Delicious Sushi Rolls =g ood, but not fresh. Pieces are big and they offer lots of different flavors but if you're looking for fresh fish, this is not the place. Ambiance = Fun! Nice lighting/décor. Can get loud with large groups because the place is pretty small but I didn't feel cramped. Service = Amazing! Both our waitress and the bartender came to check on us regularly with a smiling face. Our waitress was really nice and she commented that the amount of sushi we ordered would be a lot..HA! She wasn't wrong but we also regretted nothing. Parking: Street parking which is limited but there's a parking lot right around the corner Overall: I'd go back. I took 6 kids and my wife to Yo's and it was perfect. The kids were 12, 14 and 16 (two of each) and the place was loud enough and fun enough that they all loved it. Besides the ambiance, the food was amazing. Super diverse menu and everything on it was great. Lastly, when the bill came it was only $135 for the 8 of us. I've always enjoyed Yo's food, especially the Mongolian beef, scenery, music and super friendly staff especially Evelyn and her daughter. Met friends there yesterday, 2nd time in two weeks and sadly, I won't be retuning. Not sure if the business is suffering; however, Evelyn and her daughter seem depressed and/or angry; not friendly anymore. At first I thought it was me since I experienced this a few weeks ago as well. I'm sensitive to other people's emotions, which makes it uncomfy for me. Yesterday my friends noticed it too. We ordered several dishes and the only two I thought were off was the pork belly buns and wonton soup. Pork belly meat was very tough and wontons in the soup were not soft like before. Walnut prawns, grandpa potstickers, veggie rice and specialty cocktails - delicious. Horrible owner attitude, truly doesn't have an understanding of what customer service is all about. Called 3 days in advance to check on availability for a special birthday occasion for a friend who had (will no longer) frequented this restaurant. Was told "no problem we'll take care of you, no reservations at this time." We arrived to be told that we could not be seated til the 4th person was present, despite the fact we wanted to order advance appetizers and drinks for all 4. Instead we stood in heat while many other "Asian" clients were being seated (not with their full party). As we literally begged to be seated we were barked at. As it turned out when our birthday guest arrived, and we chose to leave, she shared she had a similiar experience when she ordered take-out the week before and waited 45 minutes for a single sushi roll with the same exact treatment: rudeness. Turns out we had a fabulous experience at Locanda Ravello, the absolute opposite of Yo's. If you really want the best sushi in the area, try Bamboo Sushi at The Lot when they re-open, the finest in service, highest standard of food quality. read more

we ordered 7 bottles of silver oak wine and the price on their website was 149 and they charged us 199.00. our bill came to $3500 and they put the tip at the top of the bill where no one can see and they said the tip wasnt included . not realizing we tipped an extra $500 and then called back the next day we asked for our tip money back and the difference in the bottle pricing and they said the tips have already been distributed so they couldnt give our money. then we asked for the difference in bottle pricing they said the web designer made an error on their website . honor your pricing on the internet . it shouldnt be my problem their designer messed up the pricing . they have no integrity and don't know how to keep their customers happy. we have spent a lot of money there and they treat their customers like dogs . i will never ever go back to this place . i really thought the owners were cool but they dont value ur business. read more

My family has ALWAYS been a big fan of Yo's. We usually get the fried rice and a 49er roll to go and it never fails. Their sushi is always fresh and delicious. Even my 2 year old daughter will devour the rice with veggies. 5 stars for that! What is even more impressive is their catering! We did a large order for my daughters 2nd birthday to feed 24 people. We ordered fried rice, chow mein, kung pao, general's chicken and Mongolian beef. Yo's made accommodations for one our guests that has a gluten allergy AND had our food ready for pickup in BEAUTIFUL white fancy dishes. All I had to do was remove the cover and place on the table! Everyone at the party loved the food and I love that after a busy party, I'm enjoying yummy leftovers the next day and don't have to cook. Thanks again Yo's! This is nice place along Hartz Ave in Danville. Quaint but with an upbeat feel and vibe. Gets crowded on weekends and is fun to hang out around the bar. They have tv's to watch sports and have a nice courteous staff. Food is also good. The drawbacks are a menu that's way too large for the type of location and the service tends to be slow. They also allowed someone to bring in a full sized dog (not a service animal) to sit with them inside by one of the tables: was a little put off by that as well. Sorry I am just not very impressed. I ordered the roll Silicon roll and it was way too salty. I also order "Asian" sweet potato fries and was disappointed because they basically were just sweet potato fries. I expected an Asian twist to them but I could get the same at the Habit Burger or something. I also think it is overpriced. read more

This place easily earned 5 stars from me. My girlfriend took me here last night for my birthday dinner. We had eaten here the previous weekend for a friends birthday celebration, and were so impressed, we had to visit again. The vibe in the restaurant was fantastic, and the food is to die for. We found the prices reasonable for a place with such high quality. The presentation of each dish was also a work of art. We had the Ahi poke, which was the best poke we have ever eaten. Also, I would not miss the miso seabass. Their wine list is also fantastic, with a great selection by the glass, including Rombauer, our favorite. We drove 35 miles to eat here, and will enjoy many future meals here. Nice work Yo's !!!! read more

I love this place. We've been here 6 or 7 times for dinner and each time have enjoyed it very much. We always order the sushi. They have some wonderfully inventive rolls and I love that they don't load them down with sauce. Some of our favorites include the volcano tartar appetizer, the girly man roll, the Yo Yo roll (lobster), and the Godzilla roll (particularly since they don't deep fry it like most places). We've had a few of the others, but we keep ordering these each time we go. The atmosphere is lovely and we've generally had good service each visit. They have outdoor seating which is particularly nice in the good weather. It is my go-to restaurant these days. read more

We ordered a lot of shared dishes and every single one was delicious- potstickers, lettuce wraps, honey walnut shrimp, chowmein, sushi roll, sea bass, and to top it off for dessert incredible red velvet cake. My husbund and couple of our friends went to Yo's last night. Leson learnt, always make a reservation. We enjoyed some coctails at the bar area while waiting for a table. Bartender happened to be the owner, super friendly, happy and full of energy. An extra charm to the place. The menu is quite vast, any foodie should be able to find something to their likings. Server was very nice and patient (mind you they were packed) to go through the menu and help with her sugetions. We ordered bunch of appetizers and sushi.....ahi tuna pica, potstickers, kikis spicy tuna cakes, pork belly buns, godzilla roll, girly man roll, jalapeno jumper, mully 17. Everything was delicious. I first tried this restaurant about a year ago. The food was really inferior and I did not plan to ever go back. But last Saturday night my wife and I were walking by this place and decided to give it another try. We love Asian food and were hoping that they improved over the past year. We were, once again, totally disappointed. My wife ordered the Mongolian Beef and, on the recommendation of the waitress, I ordered the Kung Paw Chicken. Unfortunately, the food was as bad as we remembered it. The best I can say about the Mongolian Beef is that it was edible. However the Kung Paw Chicken was absolutely terrible. The chicken pieces were super dry and tasteless. And since the dish had no sauce, there was nothing to help flavor the dried-out little chicken nuggets. The dish contained a lot of dried mushrooms and my guess is that the cook did not soak the mushrooms long enough because they were extremely tough and the stem area was so tough it could not be chewed at all. The dish also contained lots of pieces of green onions which also - I kid you not - could not be chewed because they were so stringy. I've never had Asian food so bad - and this is the dish that the waitress recommended! The only reason for the two stars instead of one is that the waitress was nice and they do not put MSG in their dishes. read more

Yo's On Hartz has a great menu, with lots of options done right. The quality is on point from the freshness to the details put into each dish. I don't think people truly understand the care and attention that really goes into this establishment. It has a environment both indoor and or outdoor. Great place to go with family, friends, work, or solo. Never a bad experience. Lastly, they cater and their dishes were beautifully catered with incredible food. Dined here last night and was not impressed. Tried the fish tacos, the homemade pot stickers, the volcano tartare, and the Hawaii Poke. Fish tacos were the best item but just OK. The homemade potstickers were not very good. The volcano tartare had too much sauce in it so you really didn't get a taste of the fish. The Hawaii Poke was not Hawaiian Poke, it was more like kimchee poke, the sauce completely overwhelmed the tuna. Nothing we had was really very good. I probably will not be back. read more
