First time in today on 7/6/25. Mine and my kids server, Andy gave excellent service and hospitality. Definitely will be returning because of Andy's service. Shocked at the prices. We ordered 2 meals and waited an hour, in a half full restaurant. Waitress was kind and cheerful. Once the food came I was irritated they charge so much. Overcooked omelet, dry flavorless potatoes. My husband said we never need to go back and he had chicken fried steak. Also there are no booths and the seats aren't comfortable, the feel is somewhere between a college cafeteria and McDonald's. Food quality matches the ambiance but the prices don't. read more

Non of us finished our food... maybe finish about half the serving since we needed to hit to road and need some food to hold us over till the next stop. read more

I gave this place a fair shot twice, I will say the staff every time was nice accommodating but the food is disappointing. 1st time: My sister and I both ordered the hot Turkey sandwhich, the Turkey is too salty and the gravy is unique it's not beef not Turkey, not white...almost like a mix of two of them??? The mash potatoes were good though. 2nd time we ordered to go: I ordered the Asian chicken salad...I have no idea what it was but the lettuce had a weird metallicy taste to it I couldn't eat it I threw it out. For the price, just go to Panara for a better salad. My husband and I split his bacon cheese burger and curly fries, that wasn't bad but nothing special and nothing I'd come back for when you can get great burgers for half the price. slice of Chocolate peanut butter cake: not bad but Mix bakery makes amazing chocolate peanut butter cupcakes for the cost it makes sense just to go there. read more

This was my 3rd time here since the relocation and each time I've been very disappointed in my food. I think this will be my last. Small portions, lacking flavor. Yesterday I had the El Cap omelette & the few mushrooms in it were folded into the overcooked eggs - nothing inside of it with a bit of melted cheese & the sprouts on top. The Ambiance was nice. It took a while for waitress to take our order. Took a long time for order to come. My food was cold scrambled eggs, bacon not cooked all the way. Potatoes and red green peppers not cooked also cold Finally my English toast came. Not toasted and no butter it was warm. I said something to waitress they wanted to make another one by this time I was done Waitress when bringing food had one plate in hand my plate was pressed up against her body. Gross. Tried to talk to manager all they offered was to remake the meal. They should have taken it off my bill. I will cook potatoes at home. I was tired by this time and just wanted out of this place. My granddaughter ordered chorizo burrito. Waitress asked if she wanted potatoes with it. The potatoes were not on outside of plate but in her burrito. Not what she was asked. Waitress never came back to see how the food was. Waitress only smiles when coming to table. She probably new she would be getting a lot of complaints. Other table eggs were not cooked right. Her potatoes were hard not cooked. Coffee doesn't taste right. I will never go back to this place again. I don't see them lasting very long. Voted worst place to eat in Merced. Save your time and money. Not like Paul's place at all. They should have taken the meal off the tab to make it right. read more

Worst lunch ever at Yosemite Station. Not sure why this came down. Took our grandson and his mom. Her enchiladas didn't have sauce, cheese or guacamole and she bit into a HARD avocado branch (weird) Grandsons French Toast was lacking, when questioned said they ran out of the texas toast and couldn't get any, seriously so used regular thin bread... my husband never received part of his order. I never received a refill on coffee or ask! When my brother-in-law showed up, no one even acknowledged him or ask if he wanted to see the menu!! The manager allowed us a free meal. But wow what a terrible experience!! Used to love this place. Probably won't go back, full price would have been $65. There's other places in to go to! read more

One star for friendly staff. We tried this place two times now and regretted it both times, so there won't be a third. I would rate this place lower than the average Denny's, (although the Denny's in Merced is the best Denny's I've ever been to in my life). There is really nothing about this restaurant that I like. This is the new "Paul's Place." So automatically you'd assume it was the same great prices, portions and staff. Nope. Food was still good but half the sizes for double the prices. So that makes it not worth going. One waitress was so not present. The one who seated me and brought initial water was much more present. I ended up giving HER the tip instead. read more

Got to give a shout out to Yosemite Station! The Food was fresh, filling and delicious. They even cooked my eggs perfect, which most cooks have a hard time with. I like my eggs over medium. That's 1/2 wet 1/2 dry. 99% of the time they're either barely cooked and raw or overcooked and well done and dry. Go ahead try to get eggs over medium and you'll see what I mean. Anyway, Suzanne our server was so kind and attentive and even set up a table for us out on patio where for some reason everyone waiting for a table continued to wait for a table inside even though it was a beautiful day outside. So glad this new restaurant is near my home and has great food along with great employees. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!!! read more

Not much to say. I keep hearing it's the new Paul's Place but I see zero resemblance to the original. No atmosphere whatsoever. Boring. The food was unmemorable--I don't even remember what I had (it was a couple of months ago). I do remember the tuna sandwich on the menu was absurdly overpriced. I only pay these prices for things I can't easily make at home. When we went, there was no white board with all the great specials that the original Paul's used to have. Who would waste an evening at a place with worse atmosphere than you can get at home and more boring food for 5+x what you'd pay at home. I don't get it. I really don't get it. If they don't make some changes PDQ, they won't be around long. Sad. read more

So bummed. We were looking forward to the chicken Jerusalem, the chicken Alfredo and the turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy with homemade rolls only to find out the menu has been reduced to sandwiches and burgers. This was our favorite home cooked restaurant when visiting our son at UC Merced. He loves the homey feeling of the meals here. Sadly, that has changed for the worse. Had to settle for two burgers and a salad and the place was usually busy on a Saturday night, only had 4 families. read more

The food was good and was piping hot. However, we were asked to wait 10 minutes before being seated despite the empty tables. We were finally seated despite nothing changing (no one left and the tables were already clean). It was strange to wait. We received our drinks then had to wait another 10 minutes for silverware and napkins. We couldn't enjoy the coffee without a spoon or cream. Been going here since before it was Yosemite Station. You could always 100% count on very nice service. The food is filling and what you would expect but the service always with a smile. I am posting 3 stars because as soon as I left I realized I left a pair of sunglasses on the table. I know it's my own fault. I literally called 20 minutes later and asked if they had picked them up. Sadly they didn't find them. I was the only person in the restaurant and was sitting all the way in the back and I know I left them there. It's upsetting that they were not turned in and somebody decided to keep them. My waitress was very nice and she told me she was leaving and somebody else would be finishing. Around 12:30-1:30. I never saw that person so not sure who it was but these were a pair of Ray Ban glasses I got as a gift and would really like them back. Please take a look. If you're looking for Paul's Place, it's not it. The ambiance is different. You no longer get that country home diner feel that was once revered. It's a more modern diner take. As for the food, it could have been better. Solid 4/10. I came here pregnant and hungry; craving fish and chips that I loved to eat at Paul's Place; Only to realize it didn't even taste the same. Not even the fries tasted the same and I ordered regular and sweet potato. Also, my family was disappointed with the food because none of theirs were enjoyable like before. Portions were smaller but still fulfilling. Finally, service could have been better. It was empty the day I went and the waitress checked on us once. And that was it. We had to keep calling her for refills and to order desert. And she gave us our check before we were even done. Lol. read more

Yosemite Station is formerly Paul's Place but in a new, bright, wonderfully decorated corner spot in the new commercial center. We sat on the patio and had amazing service and amazing food. Their banana cream pie is so delicious. Highly recommend! read more

Loved the old photos of Yosemite in the lobby, and the advertisements on the tables, very clever. The lighting is nice a bright making it pleasant for breakfast. I ordered the El Capitan omelette. The Omelette was very good. The hash browns looked good, but the oil had an old flavor. Biscuit and gravy was fine. The service was good and the restaurant was crowded. The prices were good. Food is good, but they changed the menu and operations too much. They no longer allow discounts (ie. Veterans, employees, etc), but still have "Thank you veterans" signs posted. Shame. May be making changes right out of business. The discount and items no longer on the menu are big reasons we frequented this place. May not be so much longer. Sad. read more

First couple time we came her for brunch and it was very yummy. There always seems to be enough seating. But perhaps not enough servers. The place is chill though. I always get the eggs Benedict sub bacon. My family switches it up. Finally writing a review because while it used to be really good. The service not so much. Workers seem to be just frustrated when it's busy and while understandable, it very much reflect on the service they provide. Not until the check comes the two ladies that have served us become very "nice" all of a sudden they want to spark conversation. I feel bad for them so I've always tipped them well. However the last couple time we went in the eggs Benedict are fully cooked. The first time I let it go. Came back months later with hopes it was just the cook that specific day. But this last time I ordered my usual and the eggs came back fully cooked, not once but twice. The server that day did what she could and of course it was not her fault the cook hasn't learned how to make a decent poached egg. She was very apologetic and after the second time of getting hard cook eggs she did in fact just deduct that plate from our bill. As they should. So I ate hash browns that day for brunch. Anyway. Coffee is blah. Arnold palmers with pink lemonade?..just not the same. Portions use to be bigger of that I'm sure. At least for the sides. My kid had pancakes and the were good. The waffles are typical and plain. Just not what it once was for me. If you get the Eggs Benedict, good luck! read more

Horrible service. We asked to sit at the bar and we were asked to wait for 5 minutes while the staff argued unprofessionally in front of all customers. After 25 minutes we were still not seated. There was a very large spill in the middle of the restaurant which went uncleaned for over 20 minutes. There was a very long wait time and several open tables . Several other customers walked in after us and asked if they could sit at the bar . They were immediately seated. This was the second time of horrible service by different waitress .
