We came to Yosemite Veterinary Hospital to get a second opinion and we were not disappointed. The other vet was overpriced for not doing anything but made the wound bleed more and didn't have the personal service with the vet and had wanted limb removal which was drastic and unnecessary. Really happy with Dr. Arora and his staff. They provided excellent service and didn't hesitate on getting the surgery done quickly. A Big Thank you to them for taking care of my Cali. I would not recommend this vet...I had a scheduled appt for 2pm they asked to arrive 10 mins early. I did. 2:30 and I was still waiting to have my pup seen just for a routine 1st appt. Where do i start, this business took advantage of me in one of the worst and must vulnerable times. my baby was hit by a car and i came here to get x-rays, first of all i called on the phone let them know i had a big dog and gave her all my info she tells me okay yeah 200 for x-rays and it included all pictures when i get there she charges me an extra fee over 200 dollars, then he gets his x-rays and they tell me he looks fine just his tail will need to be amputated, then i get a call 3 hours later saying my baby has pneumothorax and if i don't take him to the hospital in dublin or Sacramento he will die, i asked the doctor if there were any closer places he said no, and i asked them to send me my x-ray images they sent me all but the one that showed he had pneumothorax. I then go to get a second opinion at a WAY BETTER AND PROFESSIONAL HOSPITAL STANDIFORD VETERINARY CLINIC and they let me know that his pneumothorax is so slight that he'll heal on his own and that the other vet should have never told me my baby was going to die if i didn't take him to an expensive ass hospital just bc they would have benefited from the money. I will never bring my Babies back here and i recommend you don't either, they will lie just to get you to spend thousands on surgery's they don't need. Im so disgusted with this establishment. The doctor didn't explain any of my babies injuries except one but i paid 600 for what. read more

This place has done nothing but saddle us with debt while NOT helping our pet at all. We have been 3 times, every time they give our cat expensive general blood work and x rays while completely ignoring us when we tell them very clearly what our cat's problem is. The most recent vet we had was named Jeanna May Villacarte. She was rude, unhelpful, and seemed very indifferent towards our cat's health. She even insulted our cat for being "difficult" (what cat is just going to LET you stick needles and tubes in it? Isn't this why vets go through training?) And basically said she can't check our cat's teeth because she's too difficult. (Her teeth are literally the only reason we came. She can't eat because she is in so much dental pain). Jeanna also made us feel like we were annoying her by asking about prices. She acted as though she had never dealt with a poor person before or even someone who was moderately struggling financially. The whole time we felt rushed and pressured into getting expensive blood work and x rays that we didn't need. The receptionist and other employees seem very nice and helpful. We also previously had a different vet at same place who was much better (I forget his name) but we will be looking for a different place immediately because this place DID NOT HELP our poor cat. read more

I first brought my boy in last August, paid 1,315.00 for an ear flush, 2 weeks later he still has an ear infection, after giving him an Anti biotic, and Prednisone. Took him back, more Prednisone, back again, more Prednisone, and again the same thing, 3 times in 3 months, Just give him Prednisone. Until I looked it up what it was found out it is nothing but a steroid. So in November I called and told flat out told them I will not pay for another 200 bucks for more of this steroid. Oh ok, they give me another Antibiotic for his ears and a ear cleaner. My huge question is why give him Prednisone when they knew it was curing the ear infection? This so called Vet, Doctor knew it wouldn't do anything, clear the infection, the swelling, goes down, the infection is gone. I advise you find another vet, I have spent nearly 2, 000 $ in total for an ear infection. And then wnat me to pay another 2,00 for more antibiotic and another exam. NO WAY, I will never go back to them no one else should go to them. read more

Very different experience than I've had in the past . The old vets who ran this place were efficient and Competent. The new doctor I seen today tried to tell me a 7 week old puppy had luxating patella. (Play in the knees) does a vet know that puppies learn to walk when they are approx 4 weeks old.? Do vets know puppies bones are very soft and harden over time?!? This vet must not seen a xray of a 7-8 week old puppy!? The next thing this vet did was palpate the abdomen on these 3lbs 7 week old puppies very hard. Her two hands must of been touching each other by pushing on the tummy so hard. My two puppies left shaking and crying. The one who she flexed the knee , is walking funny now. The other puppy is in abdominal pain. I'll be filing a formal complaint . I've never left a vets office feeling like I put my puppies in harm. I would avoid this place by all means. Clearly in-experienced vets . I took my dog here about a month ago, to confirm that she was pregnant. I was told that she in fact was NOT pregnant, but advised me to return in 2 weeks to do an ultrasound.... over the next few weeks I watched my dog continue to gain weight & her teets become clearly engorged. Her body was so obviously preparing to give birth. This morning when I came home my dog who according to this vet was not pregnant led me into the room where she had given BIRTH to FOUR puppies. I'm ashamed I even put trust in BOTH the Doctors we saw to take care of my dog. I take my dog in, they do X-rays and say everything looks good send different pain meds AGAIN to later that SAME NIGHT, have my dog dying in my arms at home. Told me she is intact pregnant by ultrasound just can't be seen on X-ray as of yet. WHY would he not check by ultrasound to factor out if it was indeed pyometra or just an early pregnancy scan? WHY? Please take the review ratings very seriously. The $29 office visit gets you in the door so they can convince you to accept outrageous treatment plans. I could not believe what was suggested. It was unprecedented and not in line with what needed to be done. They would not listen to my needs at all. I am a pack Mom to four and know what was needed, however I am not a veterinarian, therefore I can't prescribe meds. It doesn't mean I am ignorant to the needs of my animal. Do yourself and your animal a huge favor and go elsewhere. There are at least 3 other vets in the area that are moderately priced that will be much more beneficial for both you and your pet. For me? I took my puppy in for a well check appointment (no vaccine s just check up) and I also mentioned that I felt he might have kennel cough since he had it before and i knew the symptoms. Nonetheless I don't feel that my dog was examined; he was taken to the back to get weighed I'm guessing? But other than that the doctor was basing it on what I told him and the vet tech. Why don't you examine the dogs in front of their owners?? Then I was given a bill of "recommendations" which were $550+! And a minimum recommendation of $250+, I went with my own minimum of $160... antibiotics pills, a antibiotic shot, a one dose of flee and tic med and their "examination fee"... The staff was very friendly but I think I'll keep looking for a vet that actually examines my dog and not just hands me a price list :( read more

Went in and the Dr. Now says he wants to refer me to ophthalmologists because it's something he won't be able to fix, which will cost 2,000.00! I asked the tech why he couldn't tell me that in the first place before taking my 300.00 and all she had to say was he he is just a general surgeon and I had to see a specialists. Seriously??!! The tech was a rude b***h with zero compassion! I asked what her name was and she said she didn't feel comfortable giving me that information. WTF! It's all about the money not the animals. My dogs face was swelling up on a Saturday night, saw this place is open Sunday so I brought him to get it checked out. Was there at the 9 o'clock open, but if you're the type that hates waiting you might want to come in around 10 since that's when the doctor is in. I didn't mind so I waited around. Staff was great! Very nice, informative, and clear about how everything works. Doctor came in and was nice as well, quick, and to the point (in a good way). The only good thing about this place is the $15 office fee, but even that is a rip off. The Dr. came in the room, looked at my puppy's teeth and ears, that was the whole visit, then they proceeded to administer the shots and dewormer. He didn't care to hear about my concerns. WHAT WAS I PAYING FOR? I asked if they could clip our puppy's nails as they were very sharp and when they brought our baby back her paw was bleeding. The girl stayed in the back and didn't even come to apologize or discuss that she had made her bleed. I told the receptionist and she said she would get some powder. I asked if they should put some sort of antibiotic ointment on it to prevent infection, at this point the girl from the back shouts out "she can't get an infection from that" It was extremely disappointing to say the least I felt so bad for my baby. I haven't taken my Mal/Shepherd Mix to a vet since she was about 6-8 months old and she had a bad experience with the exam so I was scared to take her to another vet at 3 years old for her first set of rabies shot. I was recommended YVH, booked an appointment, had her muzzle on as a safety precaution. She was totally fine just whining and the vet techs loved her and comforted her the entire appointment as she was getting an exam and her shots. They mentioned she didn't offer to bite nor growl and I was supper happy everything went well. I will definitely be coming back for her next vaccines/visits with the way they treated her. read more

I was nervous going anywhere else than my usual vet (because my dog is 5 and has been at the same place since she was a puppy) but I'm glad I did. She had a small nodule on her chest area that was concerning me a couple weeks prior, but we left it to see if it would grow (it didn't). I was about to move cross country when I noticed that my dog's anal sac was inflamed again. I knew I couldn't drive all the way to Florida with her like that in case it decided to abscess. My vet couldn't get us in, so I called Yosemite. The vet was able to get us in the same day. He told me that the sac was too hard to express and that it would need to be lanced and drained. I mentioned the lump to him, and he said no big deal, he could remove it. I thought it would be several days, so I was surprised when he told me he could do all this the same day. I have very bad anxiety so I was very nervous about it but he was very informative and made me feel really comfortable. Since she was already going to be under anesthesia and I knew she was overdue for a teeth cleaning, I asked if he would be able to do that too. So all in all, I was able to get: -full dental cleaning -nodule removal -anal sac flush -full blood panels -pathology on the nodule -medication All on the same day, and I paid less than $1600 for everything. I left her there at 3pm and she was ready to be picked up at 6:15pm! Her stitches were very small and the surgical site was hardly noticeable, her teeth are sparkling clean again. She was totally back to normal the next day. And her reports came back clear. So overall I'm very happy and grateful! I only knocked off 1 start because it was a little hard getting ahold of the vet, but I understand he's busy. The vet texhs and front desk staff are also very pleasant. Thank you, Yosemite Vet! Bad reviews can set you up for a bad experience only if you let it. Came here for a c-section after an accidental breeding. After X-rays (included in base c-section price), doc saw 4 puppies. Pick up was between 1-5, and they had two other c-sections that same day. We got the call at 4:30pm that everyone is okay, but we're informed that our momma had crashed during the surgery. Our worst nightmare. The tech was unbelievably sympathetic and understanding with our worry, and reassured us that mom was now okay and being frequently checked on after being revived and given booster shots. 11 puppies!!! 2 came out with hernias, THAT THE DOCTOR STITCHED UP IMMEDIATELY! They not only saved my dogs life, but 2 of our puppies and THEN MORE! After getting home, we saw they had taken the opportunity to give our momma dog a really nice nail trim as well. took my 6 year old malinois in for an emergency check up. when doctor came in we told him our dog had a seizure the night before and was very ill and refused to eat/drink water and would not walk or move around for hours. basically like there was something extremely wrong. doctor only felt up on our dogs stomach area and throat. said maybe there is a ball lodged down his stomach. we told him our dog was also bleeding from nose. doctor seemed apathetic and uninterested about the details of the extremity of our dogs case. was only prescribed pain meds and told nothing else. our malinois passed away from a seizure that same afternoon before we were able to give him any of the medication. spent $400 on the check up and meds. don't come here if you actually care about your pets well being they will toss expensive meds at you and the doctor there should not have a job that requires intensive care because he lacked any type of care and lacked information on what could have been wrong with our pet. the nurses there were very nice, patient, and helpful though. read more

The Modesto location is a little off putting and the office is a bit old but the staff make up for the that by being very accommodating, helpful and they seem very knowledgeable. Wish parking was better but, Overall, good prices and just as good as other vets so we plan to stick with them. ** I do wish their simple Certificates of Health were cheaper... $50-$75 for a vet to write on a piece of paper after an exam that your dog is healthy is pretty steep and so far my only issue with this office and the Only reason they are getting 4 instead of 5 Stars. read more

I understand cat neutering is not a major surgery but I didn't enjoy my visit here. I appreciate the flexibility and I was able to bring my cat in on pretty much any day I chose. I just didn't like that when I brought my cat in they didn't acknowledge him at all. Didn't pay him any attention and it felt ingenuous. Aside from the vibes they weren't informative and never gave me the assurance that the procedure went well. Just a phone call to come pick him up. And when I arrived and it was time for the handoff all they said was to keep the cone on him for a week. I used google to find out if the symptoms he was having were normal side effects of anesthesia. There's more I can dish out but the main point is I understand it's just another day in the office so I didn't bother asking for anything else from them, because I knew I could get my answers from google. I simply expected the staff to be more comforting while dealing with people and their pets. I know there are veterinarians that can provide that comfort and for that reason I will not return nor will I recommend anybody to go here. read more

We were simply asking questions to her about the bill and she just got frustrated just because the clinic was busy and idk whatever her other reason. She was just rude overall. Especially main girl up in front desk. The vet was nice. Forgot his name but was helpful. I feel like the vet overcharges and adds unnecessary charges to whatever the situation is on your sick pet. Brought our puppy in for shots and nothing was said to us about side effects or anything. They told us to sit in room vet came out did a really simple examination that cost us $25 all he said was "heart sounds good." When it was time for the shots vet said he was taking puppy to the back for the shots. We could hear him cry from the room. We didn't know what was going on. Then vet assistant comes out hands our puppy to us and it's done. No communication with us the owners. We come home my pup starts to vomit. We called them they said it's normal. It would help pet owners know a little more of what's going on with some communication. Won't be bringing my pup back. read more
