My husband and I stopped in during a quick trip to Richmond, and we were pleasantly surprised! We're big ramen lovers, but since we don't eat pork it can sometimes be tough to find flavorful options. This place absolutely nailed it! I wish we lived closer so we could come back more often. Our waitress, Helen, was so sweet and helpful--she guided me to a delicious vegetarian ramen with a soy milk based broth that was so unique and full of flavor. Truly one of the best vegetarian ramen bowls I've had. Highly recommend!

What a delight! I had been wanting some great Ramen since we got back to the states from Thailand and this hit the spot. I tried the veggie Ramen spicy however the tofu they offer is not firm so I did not prefer the tofu. I like my tofu burnt if I am eating it, not soft. I also trued the cucumber salad and it was refreshing! I wanted more! We went during dinner time and it was getting crowded. Thankfully we were able to be seated right away.

Very nice clean modern Japanese decor. And the service was pleasant. And I love that they have open kitchen, so you can actually watch them make your fresh food! The food was all good, but my favorite is the fried oyster and shrimp shumia. The soup was standard.

I've not had the best luck with ramen in RVA, but this has been my favorite so far. I went on a Monday night and they were pretty packed (it's a small spot), but we were still seated immediately. Our server was nice, but they forgot my order almost immediately and couldn't recall it as they were repeating back. They also forgot about one of our apps and it didn't come until we asked about it. The restaurant was a little messy. There were multiple places with napkins and papers balled up on the floor, things that would've taken a few seconds to pick up, just no one had bothered to. The ramen was so good, I got the Miso and my partner got the Tonkatsu. The broths were rich and flavorful, the meats were tender. The portion was on the small side though, which made the price seem too high for what they're giving. It's about $15 and I think I got maybe 3 bites of noodles. We also tried the chicken wings in spicy soy. Some of the smaller wings were way too hard and dry, but the meatier ones were perfect. But again, thoroughly enjoyed the ramen and would come back.

Service was great - everyone was very friendly and kind. I got the tonkotsu miso ramen (medium spice) and it satisfied the ramen craving. For Richmond, this is pretty good ramen. I would definitely go back!

So after a long day at work and it had rained all day a coworker and I decided we needed something hot and warm... We've been talking about going to Takara Ramen, so that was it! The food and the service and atmosphere is really nice. Food is cooked order and an open kitchen that you can see and the servers are very helpful with suggestions and making sure you have everything you need. We got theChicken MisoRamen, the Spicy Pork Ramen and the Bao Buns and if you want hot sauce, they have several different kinds.. They also have a selection of sake, which will have to wait till next time

One of the best ramen spots in the area. All the dishes are so flavorful. The karaage is perfectly fried and I love the hint of citrus in the sauce. They're very generous with the sauce in the age dashi tofu and don't let the color fool you, it's not too salty. You can't go wrong with any of the ramen dishes. The noodles were inconsistent though - some had traditional ramen noodles and others had thin egg noodles. The katsu curry was really good but they must have prepared the rest of the dish way before the pork finished frying because the curry was cold. Overall, Takara will satisfy your ramen cravings but they could be a little more consistent.

Nice little restaurant with a homey vibe. Could tell it was a spot for regulars because of how everyone knew each other and was bubbly. The food was super rich and filling. The broth for my tofu bowl was so good I have no complaints at all. The dumplings were alright, little flimsy but that's what I get for getting veggie dumplings.

food was absolutely amazing i got the ramen and wings and i can't remember what my partner got but it was a thicker noodle soup and they loved it the staff was incredibly friendly every time ive been here and any time my mom wants wings she still tells me this place has the best ones

I got the spicy miso soup. It had pork, egg, beansprout, seaweed. The egg was over cooked which was disappointing. The spicy broth flavor was a bit overpowering, I tasted a lot more spice then savory. The pork was great, good amount of fat to leanness. Noodles were ok. It costed ~$17, which was a little more expensive compared to other places I've been. The the atmosphere felt very chill and open. The staff were very nice. Overall it felt average, but can satisfy a craving!

A staple for ramen in Richmond! The prices are relatively average for a ramen restaurant, for about $15 not including tax or tips for a bowl. The takoyaki was delicious, and the interior is very cozy.

We started off with some fried tofu (not pictured) and followed up with two specialty rolls. For two people, this was plenty to fill us up. The Monster roll is pretty filling with its size, tuna, and a piece of tempura. The roll on the left (forgot the name), was a nice balance to the heavier Monster roll. I thoroughly enjoyed the specialty rolls! Service was great! We were running behind our reservation time and I called to let them know. We still got our table when we arrived! They told us about the happy hour and we got some drinks and an appetizer. Water was always refilled. Ambiance is low key. Great for catching up with friends and families. Still pretty good flavor. I liked the Jeff roll with tuna, it seemed like a pretty thin topping and had a nice little kick from the jalapeño. The Yume roll had good flavor but it felt like the filling with the crunch was a lot of the filling which made it a little bland, nice crunch and simple flavors.

The interesting thing about placing the order is that you also pay when the order is placed, then they bring the food out when it's made. They were helpful in explaining to me how to modify a dish and they also gave great recommendations, as well as kept up with my liking of the food and experience while I was there. I ordered their red oil wontons and their cumin lamb noodles, but I subbed the lamb for beef. This came out before the wontons and it looked and smelled great! The beef was very tender, so were the amazing noodles! The spices were so tasty and offered a decent kick, but not too hot. I love stir-fried onions in dishes like this and these were so good that I tried to enjoy one piece with each bite of noodle and beef. The red oil wontons were incredible! The flavor of the oil was perfect! Exactly what it should be and it offered a very nice kick of heat too! This was one of the best wontons I've had in a long time! I'd definitely like to go back and try their soup dumplings. Overall this was a great experience into non-American Chinese food, one that everyone who enjoys American Chinese food should try!

We walked in not expecting much, and we were amazed at the speed and efficiency of the staff. This place seems like a happening place for the night crowd, lots of young men and women congregating at the bar. Our server was shy and quiet, but she was quick and efficient at her job. We ordered the Thai Iced Tea (quite literally the best I have ever had in my life) and the Drunken Noodles. I am a pad kee mao aficionado, and theirs were fantastic. The atmosphere was interesting, eclectic if I had to sum it up in a word. There were multiple seating genres, if that makes sense. We sat at the small four-top in the lower area, and the view of the whole restaurant was great for people watching if you're into that sort of thing. We came here with no expectations, and we were blown away. What a hidden gem; we certainly got our money's worth. Whole-hearted recommendation from both of us.
