Messed up udon plate
Michael T.

I ordered a large combo plate no veggies and paid more to get it with UDON noodles and I get home (20 minute drive ) open the plate and the meats are nice and delicious but I got maybe 10 noodles that are pieces and ontop. Of cabbage... this is rediculous and not worth 15 bux or whatever it was.. I'm starving and diabetic so I am going to eat it but this is horrible

Grilled Teriyaki Chicken

The chicken tasted burnt, the vegetables had no taste and the teriyaki sauce was too much and too sweet.

Half chicken and beef combo with cayenne pepper. Teriyaki sauce on the side.

Ayyyyyy this Yoshi is the spot. You will not be disappointed going to this location. The Yoshi near my house makes the beef a bit soggy and you can tell it's not fresh because it not golden brown like this location. I requested to add cayenne pepper and put teriyaki sauce on the side. Very accommodating to customize your order too. I ordered a half chicken and beef combo. YUM! I'm willing to go out of my way for this one. Definitely recommend if you want to try Yoshinoya food done the right way. Keep up the great work!

As always yoshinoya is bomb! I don't know why, but this must be one of my favorite fast food. I just I can call it that cause, it's fast and it's always bomb. The cashier was super cool at this spot too, so awesome food and good customer service, not bad.

Its open on aug 21, 2020. It looks clean inside. I ordered combo bowl, original beef and grilled bbq beef with veges. Its actually the same beef but only difference is with bbq sauce or not. I prefer bbq sauce it was very delicious. I wish I got both meat bbq beef or got extra sauce on the side. I like that they have pickle ginger.

Teriyaki veggies and rice, orange chicken veggies and rice $5 each good deal.

Once your food is ready, they'll bring it out to you. Water, tea, and utensils are self serve by the front door. After you're done, just bus your own table really quick and leave the tray at the return station by the register. My go to is usually the ten zaru because I love their cold soba! My friends like their yuzu broth sobas as well! Noodles have a great texture and I never leave feeling heavy. Great spot for a quick, easy, and fresh lunch! Better to eat this one there than take out! Got take out here for the first time today and the tempura sauce lid wasn't on right, so all our tempura got soaked. :(

The exterior does a hell of a sales job. Tucked into Old Torrance, Ichimiann looks like the kind of…read moreplace you hope has been doing one thing correctly for decades. Handmade noodles. Old wood. No unnecessary theater. I walked in expecting the sort of modest Japanese restaurant that makes you wonder why anyone bothers opening anything new. Then you get inside. There is old in the charming sense, where every worn surface feels earned. And then there is old in the neglected sense, where the room feels dim, tired and coated in the residue of a thousand lunches. Ichimiann lands much closer to the second. The cafeteria style ordering, self serve tea and tray return could have been part of its appeal, but the space has no real rhythm to it. You order, drift toward the back and eventually find yourself eating in a room that feels more institutional than intimate. The staff was pleasant and efficient. No complaint there. The soba itself was also good, properly textured, clean tasting and clearly better than the lifeless supermarket versions most people know. The problem is that "good soba" is carrying nearly the entire restaurant on its back. The portions are remarkably small for the price and every addition begins to feel like another minor financial penalty. By the time the tray reaches the table, you are looking at a modest serving of noodles in a tired room and wondering how the bill became so ambitious. Handmade or not, there was nothing on the plate that felt difficult enough, generous enough or memorable enough to justify it. That is the disappointment. Ichimiann presents itself like a surviving piece of old Torrance, but tradition alone is not hospitality and age alone is not character. The noodles are respectable. Nearly everything surrounding them needs considerably more care. I wanted to discover a neighborhood institution. What I found was an expensive bowl of decent soba in a restaurant that seems to believe its history is doing more work than it actually is.

So people needed to squeeze by and then one guy asked if he could sit for a moment at my table. I said okay. But then I think he planned to stay at my table until finally my waiter moved him! There was a seat at one their tables the whole time. Then their waitress wedge herself with her back toward me in between the tables and I had to stop eating. Very disruptive and rude. Taking a while for the six people to order so I nudged her and I asked her to move and she seemed upset that I did that but didn't say anything no apology so it was very uncomfortable and I was rushing through my food so I burnt my tongue on the hot soup again even though I knew it was hot because I just wanted to get out of there. And then when I was done, I had to wait a while for the check and then they couldn't process the Apple Pay at the table so then I had to go to the front and wait for somebody to attend to me there overall this experience was not fun and stressful and I had got there right when they opened. I sure wish I had selected a different seat!! I wouldn't get the Nabeyaki soup again. It was really big and had a lot of end pieces of tough napa cabbage. There were two pieced of shitake mushroom and the standard thin fish cake slice. There was and egg in the soup and a three small chicken pieces. On the side were three small pieces of green bean and two tempura shrimp.

We arrived late at around 1:30 pm on a Saturday afternoon but the waitress was patient and friendly, guiding us to seats and let us know to order before their kitchen was closed. It had a lunch special menu which showed several special items at a very affordable price. We picked the Negitoro Bowl from this special menu (at half of the regular price). The tuna had a balanced fat and was minced in a manner that I felt it melt in my mouth. It's a good match with rice. The Kaisen Bowl had a variety of seafoods and all of them tasted very fresh! The salty fish roe made the rice more flavorful. The Kaisen Bowl came with a miso soup and a salad. We also ordered a soba which was well cooked. We definitely will go back to try more dishes!

This was always one of the restaurants I wanted to try, so I was happy I finally got to visit haha. One thing is that the prices are high and the portion felt little small. Still, the food quality was great and I would love to come back again to try different dishes next time.

I usually read through the Yelp comments and look at the photos before trying a new place, but this time I only checked the rating -- which was great -- and decided to go based on that and the FB post. Looking back, I probably should have read the reviews first. We didn't realize the bento boxes are only available during lunchtime, and we were also surprised to find out they don't have yakitori. Those were two things we were hoping to try. We came with a party and ordered several items, including the Akatsuki Special Hot Pot, which was recommended to us, along with other dishes. The tempura and karaage were definitely the highlights -- both were really good. The rest of the food was okay for our group, but unfortunately it didn't really satisfy our craving or stand out the way we were hoping. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff was friendly. I think the biggest thing was that our expectations were set by what we saw on FB, and the items that caught our attention weren't available when we visited. I would recommend checking their current menu before going so you know what to expect. Maybe we'll come back another time to try their lunch menu and explore more of what they offer.
