I am very disappointed that I have to write this negative review. I chose this company based on the positive reviews on here and we had a less than stellar experience. We had two crews on the day of our move and one crew was 30 minutes late. They did call to say they were on their way, but I was not offered coffee and they boast about on their website. That's not a huge deal, but the problem arose when I noticed they were loading my furniture and items onto the truck without wrapping anything. When I asked them about it they told me not to worry and that they just drape it in the truck. They said it's faster that way. I felt uncomfortable pushing the issue and I foolishly assumed they knew what they were doing. Unfortunately, several pieces of furniture and appliances were damaged as a result of their cutting corners. I later found out this is NOT their policy and they should have wrapped everything that came out of my house and onto the truck. I was offered a $100 discount at the time of the move after talking to Frank, who I believe is the franchise manager. Once we started settling in to our new home, I discovered a gouge in a dresser and a desk, along with a dent and chip in the front of my washing machine, and the door to my stainless steel refrigerator was scuffed up. I was very upset, as all of these were two years old and were purchased brand new when I moved into my previous home. Frank offered to come over and repair the items. He did not do a very good job and admitted he could not get everything back to original condition. He also left a large puddle of stainless steel cleaner on my garage floor where he was trying to buff out all of the scratches on my fridge. He said the insurance will cover 60 cents per pound for the items damaged and they would take away the items that we made a claim on. I found this unacceptable, since proper procedures were not followed and as far as I'm concerned we should not be bound to that insurance policy when they were negligent in handling our goods. I've tried to escalate this to the corporate level and I was supposed to get a callback from their customer satisfaction team two weeks ago. I still haven't heard anything. We would like the value of the items damaged to be credited back to us but we don't seem to be getting anywhere with it. Unfortunately, it looks like we are going to have to proceed with small claims court, which is very disappointing to have to take the time and effort to resolve something that should have never happened had their workers taken better care of our property. read more

My husband and I chose these guys because they got good reviews on YELP and when I talked to them for both packing and moving services they were available to do both on a Sunday. Needless to say for the price they charge the service was nevertheless shockingly bad. Here is why: 1- Stolen bracelet ( 18K Gold ) - 2- Missing bed frame 3- Broken feet on the speakers 4- Broken Living room lamp 5-One chair With 2 broken legs My husband discussed the above issues with the manager and he offered to replace the items and look into the missing bracelet. They asked us for my bracelet certification before they could re-embource. They ended up re-embursing us 300$ for the bracelet. I would like to know WHERE YOU CAN FIND A 18K GOLD Bracelet for that much???? NOT FAIR ..... They offered to replace all the broken parts. It took several weeks to get the parts, and several phone calls and follow ups to get the parts delivered and etc. . During my conversation with the manager, as I was trying to followup and figure out when the missing items were getting to us, he was very short with me on TXT, and told me all the details were discussed with my husband. I did point out to him, if they did a better job with the move, and if they managed the employees better we would not be in situation in the first place. He didn't like that. Needless to day, the LAMP was NEVER fixed, and missing BED FRAME was NOT replace In conclusion, I DO NOT recommend their services. For the type money they charge their service is NOT worth. This truly is a moving company with a difference. I've moved around quite a bit both local and long distance so I have experienced the trials and tribulations that come with a move many a times. My move this time was local and not really complicated but I also wasn't as well organized as I'd expect to be. I was kind of relying on the movers to be flexible and work with me as we went along. You Move Me exceeded my expectations overall. From the first time I placed a call to get a quote, to the coffee they brought me on the day of the move and the little plant they left as moving gift they showed they were different from the rest of the market. Customer service from day one was above par - Jimmy from the local office followed up consistently to ensure things were moving along on track. They gave me a reasonable quote and offered a 2 hour minimum (it's 3 at most places). No deposit upfront and no obligation. Kevin & James on the day of the move were excellent - they showed up a bit early and courteously waited for me while they set up for the move. They were professional, friendly and made handling the mess that I left unpacked a breeze. They were also quick to inform me of existing damages to the furniture (always a good sign!). It was just easy working with them! No matter who moves you moving is stressful but I think this is a company that stands out from the crowd. read more

I wanted to love You Move Me but their incorrect move quote left me with a bad taste in my mouth and when I tried to contact them about it they never got back to me. 1) I worked with Tony who was very friendly and helpful. He quoted me $3,073 for the move if I packed my self. 2) I packed my own boxes and had everything ready on move in day, but the move took longer than they anticipated and I ended up being charged $5,708. 3) I emailed Tony to ask him why the quote was so far off and he never responded. My family and I have moved more times than I like to count over the last 10-15 years. You Move Me, I am a customer for life after the way you moved us this past weekend. The move went off without a hitch!!! We received a call 45 minutes prior to arrival from the movers and were shocked to be asked if we would like any coffee or tea, on their way to our place. They arrived at 8:15 (scheduled for 8:30 arrival) Arriving early and asking about the coffee or tea was the first of many pleasant surprises we had using You Move Me. The house warming gift (plant) at the end of the move was really a nice touch as well. Classy move!!! Michael and Caesar were awesome from start to finish. They were careful, courteous and conscious of our items. Door protectors, carpet runners and wall protectors all went up and on prior to lifting one item. Two small negatives (reason I gave 4 stars in lieu of 5) was a lack of urgency / speed in the move...at the hourly rate they charge I would have appreciated a quicker pace.... but I am willing to give up the speed for them being careful with our property. Absolutely no damage was sustained due to their expert handling of all items, large or small. Second small negative was they left several pads at our new place that I am going to have to coordinate in returning. In the end, I have to say that this is hands-down the BEST moving company I have ever used. Book them and have peace of mind that your move will go smooth. The extra discount for mentioning Yelp or Groupon is extra icing on the cake! read more

Jeff, Nate, and Marcelino made my move across the Bay (Palo Alto to Albany) a breeze! They brought extra boxes and packing material, which was great because we had run out of boxes the night before with about 2/3 of the kitchen left to pack (whoops). We had them pack the super fragile stuff, because if they pack it and it breaks, they take responsibility, which made packing less stressful for us - and nothing broke! The day ended up being a bit longer than anticipated because of some obnoxious parking restrictions that we didn't know about at the new place, but they powered through. Was given a call one day prior to the move with a 200 increase. Would have appreciated a more sooner follow up call with an accurate price instead of the one provided the day before not reflecting the upfront costs as they stated initially. We just moved 2 miles to another home with the help of You Move Me. I had done some research on the internet and discover this new service which was started by the same fellow who starts 1-800-Junk. I went ahead and received a second quote from a traditional mover in the area who receives high marks. You Move Me turned out to be half as much in price. They were very prompt, friendly + professional with our furnishing. They very time conscious trying to save us money as well. After all, they provide a truck and as much help that it will take to move you within the parameters discussed. For us it was a move over 2 different days, one day for the furnishing for our new home and the second day for the storage locker. It wasn't an easy move but they made it look easy. As most people, I used yelp and looked for the best. the 5 star reviews wow'd me. My experience was not 5 stars. over-priced & lost goods, and still pending resolution. The on site estimate, pre-move, was off by $1000 for only a 2 bedroom apartment. I wouldn't know this until the end of the move-in day anyways. On day of move, the guys worked very very hard, but did pack relatively inefficiently making the move at least 2-3 hours longer than needed. No problem because things were delivered safely and nothing was broken. So with the extra long day and significantly more expensive bill, still I was greatful for the help. Then we realized we had some stuff missing. We searched our house twice and the apartment. Nothing. We emailed the movers and the customer service department. The movers became increasingly defensive and unprofessional in assuring us that everything was packed and moved and that we had no rightful complaints other than the increased $. I even mentioned that with the long day maybe they left a box in the elevator or downstairs and did not load the truck 100%. He thought the idea of this was impossible. Customer service did not reply for weeks, then asked to clarify our complaint, then never replied again... I repurchased some of our lost goods, and at least was hoping for compensation by the movers. Though the lost items from my wedding and honeymoon I would never get back. No reply. Then 3 weeks later our apartment manager called. Guess what he found sitting in our mail room downstairs next to the garage. A box labelled "bathroom and kitchen." He luckily called us to see if maybe we were missing something during the move. Thank you Brio apartment! We notified our movers AGAIN re the news. Again no reply. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS and UNPROFESSIONAL. 100% do NOT recommend. The person that came in for the quote even self-admitted that their rates are higher because of 'better' service. Given the above, you better take your chances with anybody else for a lower price. At least if they lose your stuff and have poor customer service, it would be $1000 cheaper than what I paid... read more

This is the first time we used professional movers and I was a little nervous as I had heard stories from other friends about how their stuff was damaged or lost, etc. I have to say, You Move Me is amazing in every sense. We have a 10 month old baby and so it was a little more difficult for us to move but from the first phone call to the last box in my house, the guys were amazing. Evan came in for an estimate and he was great with every detail. No hidden charges, etc and he explained how the move would happen, what would be involved and how they charge us so we don't get any surprises when it was time to pay. I have to say - right on the dot about that! When the boys came in, I was impressed at how quickly and professionally everything was packed and loaded. I have a lot of fragile items and I can't thank them enough for keeping everything safe so it doesn't break or damage. They covered all the walls, stairs, and doorways so that the houses (both the old and the new) were not damaged when the furniture was moved. I can probably go on and on about how well of a job they did but I'll be content that I've said so much to my family and friends about them that my brother is already planning on using them and so are a few other friends. The most incredible professional FAST movers I've ever seen. They literally "ran" all day effortlessly. Everything they did from packing, to wrapping all furniture to fitting it flawlessly into my 40' container was just amazing! They never even came close to nicking a wall or doorway.
