I've been using this local business for ages and have always received excellent service. unfortunately, I tried to use their notary service today and was told they no longer have a notary at this location. They very nicely directed me to their "sister" location someplace in downtown Berkeley (which I avoid like the plague because parking is impossible). I am disappointed . I have never had a better shipping experience than the several times I have shipped from here! Each staff member is lovely, kind, and competent. I brought a large amount of packages each time I have shipped and at one point two staffers had to work late to help me ship everything and they were so gracious. (Thank you again!). They help get you the best rates, are very peaceful in their process, and really know what they are doing. Highly recommend! This little neighborhood store is the only place I will go to mail packages, FedEx envelopes etc. parking is convenient - a huge bonus in Berkeley. The employees are competent, quick, friendly and responsive. They provide envelopes and boxes as well as packing bubbles and peanuts when needed. They usually have a great selection of stamps on hand also. They follow Covid protocols. No more standing in line at the post office for me! read more

I used to love this place, but recently I shipped a package through UPS and it arrived to the recipient damaged. Since the package was shipped under You Send Me's UPS account they were the ones who had to submit the the claim. They submitted it incorrectly. I have called and stopped by in person. Only Connie, the owner can fix it and she is never there, and when I leave messages she does not call me back. The staff refused to call her when I stopped by the shop, but they "took a message" which was never returned. I am super disappointed. I used to rave about this place. read more

I assumed it was a mistake and called back. I confirmed I could drop my item off this afternoon. When I arrived this afternoon, I was informed that I had "better bring that back on Monday". I went from abject terror to total serenity in 30 minutes thanks to You Send Me. I needed a rush copy of my child's birth certificate and needed to print, notarized, and fax a confirmation to the county for them to fill the request. I took care of all three things at You Send Me (who was thankfully open until 5pm on a Saturday!) in a matter of minutes. I sent a package from You Send Me and it was stolen. I tracked the box which had been sent Priority Mail Express and the tracking said it never left their office. It never arrived a the USPS Mail Facility. So, I called them. I was told that the box was probably in the LOST AND FOUND or the label fell off. The Priority Mail Express Labels are a sticky pouch that is attached to the box and are extremely to hard to peel off. So, I don't believe that story. So, where did the box go and who has it!!! I would sure like to know. I spent $117 to send my item which vanished from their possession. I am very unhappy and feel that they are not concerned or maybe they took it themselves! I e-mailed them twice but they have not responded. I do not recommend that you use this business if you want your items to arrive safely or at all. read more

There is a surcharge on some items, but all in the time savings is worth the small additional cost. I generally don't like writing bad reviews especially for small businesses, so I have been putting this review off for a while now but this place really let us down. We generally came here for all our mailing needs however one day we showed up to drop off a prepaid USPS package(which we routinely do) and we were rudely told by an older lady that they don't accept them. We figured she was having a bad day and didn't think much of it. We then continued to bring our prepaid packages in and we didn't have any problems for the next few visits Then on a rainy day when we were in a hurry, we had to wait in line for 20 minutes(to be honest this is a long wait for this place) we were rudely told by the same lady that they do not take those packages and that we have to go to the post office. We started to try to explain our selves and she cut us off and said very rudely WE DONT TAKE THESE and called the next customer over. She never provided any explanation just "we don't take these" The only good thing about this experience is we found out at the north Berkeley post office on Shattuck that we don't have to wait in line for prepaid packages. We can just drop them off in the turn table and go. In summary most of the staff seems nice but after being treated very rudely twice we will never be back. read more

This place is amazing. I discovered it when my boyfriend lived in this area of Berkeley. We went there once for some shipping service (I can't recall exactly what), but they were great. That first impression stuck with me. Last week I discovered that all of my local UPS stores no longer have the waybills that you can fill out by hand. I work remote most days. My company has a UPS account, but getting the assistant in charge to generate shipping documents is just really time-consuming and cumbersome. It's just easier if I can show up, fill out a waybill, put the corporate account number on it, and send the package on its way. For now, they have these in stock. They did warn me that they've not seen a new supply in awhile, so our days might be numbered (UPS don't do that; it's stupid. Sometimes people can't fill out a shipping form online). Anyway, I was able to take care of mailing some swag off to a conference that as happening this week. The young lady who helped me was great about packing everything up nice and neat too. It was a great one-stop experience. Things are a little neurotic at my work world and sure enough someone called me first thing the day of the conference because that package hadn't arrived. I knew I'd not thrown the waybill out, but I also hadn't written it down anywhere. After 30 minutes of searching and not being able to find it, I called You Send Me in the hopes that they kept a log. They did! She looked it up and gave me the tracking number. With that in hand I was able to let them know it was en route and to mellow out. (BTW, the package was delivered first thing than morning, so the panic was unnecessary; of course, I found the waybill tucked into my wallet later that day: note self - don't do that again.) All of that to say You Send Me saved me in two ways: having waybills on hand and being smart enough to keep a log. I'll use You Send Me in that situation from now on. I really can't believe that UPS doesn't have waybills in their store locations. That's such a bad level of service. I'm glad these folks are here to fill in that gap. read more

This is in regards to the notary service. My first experience using You Send Me as a notary service was fine, but today the notary actually sent me away. She asked how many pages I had. Since I didn't really know what I was doing, I counted all the pages on my attachment- 10 pages. She pointed to one page that said 3 out of 49 and said she needed to have all 49 pages. She pointed to another one which referenced a deed, and said she would need that too. I called my brother (the documents were pertaining to him) and he said he had had no problem at a UPS where he lived and directed me to the Solano UPS store (I do not own a smart phone). When I went to the UPS store, their notary looked through the papers, pointed out the relevant one (apparently the ones that require a notary have a special section they have to fill out) and notarized that one. Pointed out two others that should stay together with that paper. Mailed everything to my brother's agent, DONE! This whole thing required my husband and I to be there to sign, which also meant that our baby was in tow. Which also meant that if we had not done this today, we would not have another chance until next Saturday. I am not using the notary service at You Send Me again. I do not have the time. read more

My mother suggested at one point that I get a mailbox five years ago so that I would eliminate having to update my address whenever I moved. As always, it was a brilliant idea as I moved seven or more times since within the Berkeley/Oakland area. You Send Me was down the street from where I worked, and I had gone there initially to send a package for my boss. In the time since then I've registered for a mailbox which was totally easy, yet I was sure that they were taking good care to protect me. This little tiny shack of a shipping store is hard to find on Google maps...it leads you a couple buildings down. But because it's in a more residential area, it's definitely easier to find parking than with the USPS post office in the North Berkeley / Gourmet Ghetto area. Everytime I've come in, there's been a line of a few people before me...and since they only have 2 people working usually, it can be kind of a wait. Still, I think its worth it because of the easier to find parking and because they have any packaging materials you would ever possibly need! Only 25 cents for them to tape your box up/tape label on! I've been here 3 times now for notary services. Lucas, the notary, is extremely friendly, chatty and efficient. I haven't used their mail-related services but the other customers I've encountered seem to get great service. Here's what makes the place great (at least for me): 1) Two dedicated parking spaces -- rare for a notary in Berkeley. 2) Open Saturdays. 3) Lots of services in one place. Comfortably small place but giant on utility (usefulness). Went in just as they were closing their doors at the end of a typically long workday. For me, it would have been that time of the day when I had cleaned off my desk, packed up my bags, and been looking up at the clock in between prayer's that no more business comes through door. But then here comes this self-centered jerk (me) who likes play games with time. The young lady at the desk was beyond cool and patient. She casually went through the numerous steps for my package to be sent overseas, while carefully double-checking each entry with me to assure its correct delivery. And then they asked if there was anything else that I needed. And this jerk (I) smiled. If that isn't 5-star service then nothing is. The package arrived exactly on schedule. Came back the next morning...no notary she was 'stuck in traffic' with no ETA.
