We have found this place to have the best sushi around. Food is very high quality and service is excellent.

Service was not great. We were sat and we felt as if we were being rushed to order, we had 3 different servers ask if we were ready to order after we had just sat and were eating our soup and salad. Then, it came time to pay, we wanted to do cash and the rest on the card. We let our server know, well one of them, since it was so unorganized and was not apparent who was actually our server. Some random kid who looked like a buster came and grabbed our check and ran away before we could even tell him cash first then card. So they ran my card. The lady who ran it came and didn't even apologize and said "well the kid gave it to me so I ran the card first". Instead of owning up to her mistake, she blamed the kid. She was very rude and didn't even assure me I'd get a refund. I then hear her go back to the kitchen and say "she's complaining" about me. It's been two days and I'm still awaiting my refund, it isn't even pending. Overall, unimpressed with the service. Maybe if she was nice I wouldn't be leaving this review. Food was overpriced and I probably won't be returning. read more

I ordered 2 yellow tail Kama for pick up over the phone. I got there and paid $23.82. I waited for 30 min then the waiter came back and told me he had charged me the wrong price. He said I still owe him $15. So that's a total of $38.82 for 2 yellow tail Kama. I left and went to Hana sushi on Ynez and got 2 yellow tail Kama for $21.64. What a big difference ! Beware ! BTW I only had to wait no more than 15 min at Hana sushi. read more

Pros: CHRIS (the owner/chef) IS AMAZING; fish is hand picked by him daily, if he's not happy with it he sends it back, so quality and taste is basically guaranteed; quantity is very good as well; everyone here are courteous and fun; Chris uses sweet, crispy nori that is almost as amazing as him; the menu has an amazing selection but half the time I'm not even ordering off of it, I just ask him what's good; the roll names are HILARIOUS and delicious; restaurant itself is so nice and cozy, clean and well-kept, and though a bit on the smaller side, the space and arrangements were well-considered; and everyone from the employees to the other people eating here are all joining for the shared experience of enjoying Chris's creations! Also, did I mention Chris is amazing? Cons: why it is in Temecula? Why do I eat even more every time come here to the point my wallet can't keep up? Seriously though, there is little con, if there are even any, to this place. The quality and quantity of this place would beat out many, many places in more dense/populated cities. Chris is an incredibly engaging and entertaining chef that will tell what time and where your sushi is coming from and how he prepped it and why he's recommending it to you. I will say there are things on this menu that I struggle to find at other sushi places, even in LA, like anago (saltwater eel) which Chris makes very, very well. I don't look at the daily specials or menu anymore, I literally plop myself at the sushi bar (which is nice and spacious, about a foot and a half) and ask him whats fresh today, and he'll humor me. Hands down the best sushi place in town. The fish here is so incredibly fresh and the owner/head chef is very honest about which fish comes fresh and which he gets frozen. He makes the experience and will help you pick if you're stuck between all the delicious sounding options. The roll selection is excellent and there's lot of fun creative options. Another huge plus here is that miso soup, green salad and ice cream are all complimentary. I've tried the chicken teriyaki and that is excellent as well. Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed their food. We ordered Alaska roll, cilantro, polar bear and more. The dishes were great. However the service that we received was below our expectation. The server gave us the wrong order and also for Alaska, forgot to put sliced lemons. We had to bring it to his attention for him to take it back so I believe if we didn't know about it and didn't bring it up, it's just how it is. The rest of the servers were great - too bad we got the bad one. Also for recommendation, I hope you train your waiters for them to wait until we finish our conversation to put away the empty plates. Food was tasty and right on time! We're from Florida but visiting family here in Temecula. So happy we found this gem across from our room. After two flights we were ready to shower and have a nice early dinner. Upon arriving we were able to sit down immediately. Perfect! My bf ordered white peach sake for us which was right on time. It was smooth, great taste especially if your not a drinker. 8% alcohol for the whole bottle. I ordered the rainbow sushi roll.....love loved it! All of the type of fresh fish that I love. Salmon, tuna, yellowtail with avocado and more! Yummy! My bf ordered the Mexican roll which he said was really good as well and filling. Sushi is fresh and delicious. The sashimi is really good and the sushi combos tasted great. I also got the Alaska roll and it did not disappoint! Food took a while to come out and the service was a little slow, nobody checked up on us so when we needed ginger and chopsticks we had to go up. From start to finish, great sushi experience in Temecula. We came 5pm on a Saturday and were surprised that it wasn't too packed. YouandI offers some of the best selection of sashimi in the Temecula area. I'd highly recommend their marbled tuna and their king salmon. Both were delicious. Now my recommendation for the restaurant: please offer a 40 or 50 dollar chef option. I have found You and I sushi to meet all the standards for 5 stars. They are always extremely consistent with quality and affordability. There are So many Great choices here and You and I Sushi in Temecula. My Son and I like to eat here as often as possible. Some of our favorite rolls are the green dragon and the BSCR and the Alaska and so many others. If in stock the yellowtail Kama is great and also I Love the soft shell crab hand roll too! They start it off with miso soup and a small salad. Also they have great sashimi. Yellowtail Toro and yellowtail and albacore and of course bluefin toro are some of my favorites when the bluefin is in stock. It's understandable that Bluefin is a fish that we should have every once in a while to preserve the species as a whole. Anyway come in to You and I and maybe my Som and I will see you there. I have been waiting for a good sushi place to pop up in Temecula. As soon as I saw the photos on Yelp, I knew this was right up my alley. I stopped in for lunch on a weekday and ordered the Chirashi. I was super impressed at the variety and quality of sashimi that was given. Most places will skimp on the quantity of sashimi as well as put the most basic type of sashimi, but not here! My Chirashi had at least three cuts of salmon, yellowtail, red snapper, toro, hotate, and more. The amount of sashimi that was given was actually more than the sushi rice, another plus. I'm really impressed at what the sushi chefs are doing here and I hope this wasn't a fluke because I will definitely be back for more delicious sushi! read more

What a fuggin treat!! I'm not a sushi snob by any means, but I did grow up on it when there weren't that many sushi restaurants around (90s). Quality of the food, presentation, service, ambiance ... 5 stars aren't enough. And the fact they offer omakase when there's rarely a sushi restaurant around that even has the skill to attempt it, says a lot. I wasn't expecting this place to be as good as it is. I've been here two or three times now, and the fish is soooooo fresh. Additionally, the service is great. They offer free miso and salad with whatever you order, which is nice. They don't offer AYCE, but the quality of the rolls you do get suffices. I like coming in for lunch because the lunch specials are on point. The spicy tuna roll (basic, I know) is one of the best I've had in years. A lunch combo will run you 13-17 bucks. read more
