Excellent all day breakfast place. I was a walk-in new customer. Friendly greeting, quick attention from servers. They made excellent pancakes. My custom built omlet (4 eggs) came quickly and well cooked. They volunteered to find me a newspaper and did. Local crowd was happy in several different languages (spanish, english, chinese) Very clean and spiffy, with newer booths and fixtures. Not a greasy spoon at all, and a great place for breakfast. Can't vouch for the American menu lunches or the Chinese food but based on the care taken with my breakfast it's more than worth a try. read more

I've been here for breakfast and lunch and it's OK but not great. On the upside there is lots of choice on the lunch menu...including a good selection of Chinese food. I ordered the Mongolian beef. It was kinda tomatoey. Not like the Mongolian beef that everybody else makes. I didn't like it. While there is plenty of choice on the lunch menu I felt like the breakfast menu was kinda skimpy. Just the basics. I'd like to see some huevos or breakfast burritos. And the major reason that I felt like the breakfast menu was limited is that I couldn't possibly order an omelette--I can't stand browned eggs. I think the major reason that this place is so highly rated is that the service is phenomenal. It is run by a family and they work their asses off. They go out of their way to make sure that everyone feels at home and every order is delivered quickly. We're going to keep coming back, because it's quick, local, and the prices are good. read more

It's a little confusing to see so many genres of food in one place, but it doesn't detract from how comfy and warm the place is. The people here are super nice, and the prices are student-friendly. I normally judge a Chinese restaurant by the quality of its fried rice (strange, but it works). It was fresh, simple, and not too heavy nor salty. In order words, it leaves a craving for more (I'll leave that to you). Their American-style cuisine will be tested for another day. :) read more

We found Young's after a miserable customer service experience at Meanders a couple years ago and we're so happy we did. As the other reviewers said, you can't beat the customer service here. If it's your first time or your hundredth they treat you like a part of their own family. Even if you don't go that often they always remember repeat customers which is also nice. We've never had the asian lunch menu, we always do breakfast, but the food is always good and always consistent. P.S. We've never gone back to Meanders. Customer service wins every.single.time. read more

I just happened to be visiting the neighborhood and needed some quick breakfast. I had my reservations about getting breakfast at an Asian food place but the reviews put my worries to rest. I was expecting something just passable but was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. The food here is top-notch. I think I just ate the best omelet I've ever had! Shrimp with fresh mushroom and tomato, a ton of really good cheese, and love. Yes, there is love in the omelettes. The hash browns were a perfect combination of light and crispy with the inside just right. The service is super efficient and as friendly as reported. The sourdough toast and fresh strawberry jam made it even more memorable. I'll definitely be coming back here the next time I'm in the area, and I'll be bringing friends. read more

One of my favorite places to eat, and my favorite chinese food place EVER. Short and sweet this is my favorite chinese food place and let me say ive been to them ALL , cheap , authentic or american style or expensive. Youngs beats them all. I mean wtf is better than amazing shrimp fried rice and a glass of apple juice at 9am? Absolutely F***** nothing lol . If youre not in the mood for chinese they also serve american breakfast which is also pretty darn tasty. Been coming to this place for about 10 years. Fan for life. It can get a little noisy during rush hour ( doesnt bother me but i know it does to some .) Also between all the SPD officers and elderly folks who regular here, parking on the street can get tight. read more

The Place had a 90s vibe to the decoration! I loved it! The waitress was very friendly and polite! She was very warm and welcoming! I loved how she knew her customers name. Love this place. It is always packed and sometimes the wait is a little long. The waitresses are definitely nice enough to make up for it. I have been for breakfast/brunch a few times and each time got the same Hawaiian omlette with ham, pineapple, and sour cream. It sounded weird enough to be delightful and it absolutely was. I would love to try the Chinese food but since they aren't open for dinner I haven't tried that yet. All in all if you like the diner feel and delicious diner coffee, you are bound to like the food and good prices. read more

My grandpa and father have been taking me here since the late '80's, and used to be on a bowling team with Janice. Stopped during highschool, a stint in the military, and then a period where I moved around a bit for work. The morning after a long nite out, I ventured back in. The Janice and the ENTIRE staff recognized me almost 18 years later and jumped immediately into the best hangover breakfast I have ever had. They do serve up great american/chinese food (mean ass chicken chow mein!), but I am a huge fan of their breakfasts (biscuits/gravy w' hash browns, two poached eggs, and tobasco is my favorite!). Prompt, polite service, generous portions, reasonable prices, and the fact the staff remembers me keeps me coming back every time. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants, been going there for years now. Good food, friendly staff, restaurant is always clean. The menu is a wild mix of traditional American breakfast/lunch food and Chinese. I've tried both American and Chinese and both are quite good. My family and I have been coming here for over 20 years. The Family that owns the restaurant is so sweet. Service is great, I love when you walk into a place and you just feel welcomed like you are in their home. The food is good I may be biased because I have been coming here so long but at the same time that says something in itself that they have regular customers, they must be doing something right :) Their breakfast and lunch items are both good. Great spot for Breakfast. Found a friendly, economical place that is a nice alternative to some of the other spots in the area that frequently have a long wait. All the breakfast staples (eggs, bacon, pancakes) were tasty and the service while not the most attentive I've ever experienced was more than adequate with nary a sign of the Seattle server tude that permeates a lot of the dining areas around town. I just moved to Seattle from California and heard about this place from a friend and ventured out to West Seattle to check it out. I must say, I was extremely pleased. The food was absolutely delicious, the place had a very good family-style feel, and the service was extraordinary. As soon as you walk in, you automatically feel as though you're a part of the family since the servers all greet you enthusiastically and talk with you as if they have known you for years. It was great to see them familiar with the other customers and shows they are not only invested in only making amazing food but also in making you feel welcomed. I will definitely be making regular appearances here and so should you. Did I mention this is a family owned restaurant? From the waiters to the servers to the chef, they're all related!
