My fiancé and I absolutely loved working with Yana! She is so friendly and encouraging during each lesson, and very responsive via text and email.  We picked a fast paced song and didn't know what to expect, considering most wedding first dance songs are slow. However, she came up with a routine that worked perfectly with the song and is so fun to dance to! We did a total of 4 dance lessons, and she really packs in every minute of the lesson. By lesson 3, we had learned the whole routine. Lesson 4 was mostly for running through the whole routine and making the dance look more polished. Before discovering Yana, my fiancé and I tried a bigger, different dance studio that had a bunch of hype that did not work for us (it was also very expensive). After feeling very discouraged with our first dance lesson experience at the other studio, I went on yelp and found Yana. Based off the reviews, I had a feeling it would be a much better experience this time around. I was right! Lessons: my fiancé and I have no experience dancing. Yana started us out nice and easy and taught us the basics. We quickly learned that we wanted something challenging - something that would require some work on our end. Yana was great at catering the choreography to the level of difficulty that we felt comfortable with and desired. She can choreograph both very easy, simply steps that look impressive as well as more complex moves that require a bit more practice. No matter what difficulty you are going for, she will make it look natural, effortless, and elicit some oooohs and aaahhhs from the audience. The most important thing for us was that it did not look cheesy. She also takes into consideration any limitations the bride and groom may have based on what they will be wearing and has very helpful tips to set you up for success. We only needed 4 lessons to conquer our first dance. Communication: Yana is very responsive and responds to emails very quickly. She was great about confirming each lesson ahead of time and never left us hanging. Scheduling: Yana is willing to work with your schedule. Where do I even begin!? Yana is just amazing. I cannot say enough good things about her. So kind, patient, positive, professional, and an all-around amazing dance teacher. A little bit of background on my fiancé and me: I love to dance (zero formal training, I just think it's fun) and my fiancé was so uncomfortable dancing- nobody had ever taught him how, and he felt like he wasn't good at it. We didn't know exactly what we wanted for our wedding, but after watching some awkward first dances at other weddings, we wanted at least to have a little practice since we are not dancers at all. So I went into this apprehensive about dance lessons - two left feet, no sense of rhythm and a total lack of comfort dancing in front of strangers is the long and short of it when I comes to me cutting a rug.
