I took a friend here and together we had a great time. They are very thorough with the instructions and walk you through a short tour when it's your first time. You're provided a locker, a small and medium sized towel, and an outfit. We enjoyed the hot and cold tubs. No swimwear is allowed, only the towels in the gender divided areas, separated as mens and women's. In the shared spaces - the uniform is mandatory. It felt safe and clean and staff are regularly walking through keeping an eye on things. The sauna in the womens side is a a lovely 160° and the cold plunge was my favorite. For the hot and cold tub however- if you're sensitive to chlorine beware. It was very strong and the water is murky. Been here a couple times now and it's one of the most relaxing places I've found in San Diego. The hot whirlpool, cold plunge, and steam sauna make it really easy to unwind and reset. The spa and jjimjilbang package costs a bit more than I expected at $50/pp for 3 hours. The spa is small with only one medium sized hot tub and smaller cold tub. There are wet and dry saunas in the bath area, which were appreciated. The locker area and shower/bath areas are kept clean. The jjimjilbang portion was also pretty small with only three rooms (cold, clay, salt rooms). I do really appreciate that they do reservations for entry, because it wasn't crowded and for the most part very quiet and relaxing. I noticed that there were very few Korean patrons. I think that probably has to do with how much they've catered the experience to a non-Korean audience. There were so many people wearing their shoes into the locker rooms (pretty unsanitary) despite there clearly being a shoe cubby area. I even saw someone wearing a bathing suit get into the tubs, and the staff saw but just ignored them. I understand that it's a hard thing for the business to enforce, because some people can be indignant and difficult, but I do wish I saw the rules being followed more closely. Booked ahead of time online and for $170 for the body scrub & coconut oil and brown sugar massage (AND the different saunas that are included), this was a pretty sweet deal. If you're looking for a relaxing massage or any proper massage in gerneral, this is NOT the place. I always wanted to try this place and finally did. I booked couple massage for 90 mins. The masseuses were literally rubbing their forearms on use the entire time with no techniques whatsoever. They didn't even ask which parts we wanted to emphasize on. My masseuse's finger nails were stratching on my neck. We paid for hotstones but didn't receive that service so I talked to the receptionists and one of them was so not nice. They have men and women sides for their sauna (wet and dry) , cold plunge, hot tub, locker rooms, and showers. I did the Swedish massage with Sasha. She did a great job of working out my knots. It was $120 for a 60 minute massage plus sauna use. When you arrive, they give you a quick tour and give you a shirt and pants to change into along with a couple of towels. They allow you to spend two hours using the sauna afterwards. The salt and ice dry saunas along with the ice rooms are co-Ed and you wear the shirt and pants that they provided. Through the women's dressing room, you will find a hot tub and steam saunas. This is a Korean sauna. It is traditional to be naked in these areas. They provide water , fruit and candy in the waiting room which was a nice touch. People Are good about being quiet throughout this area and some rest on the couch in between the sauna options. read more

My first time at a Korean Spa and it was the best massage/spa experience I've had so far! I had a lot of questions prior to coming in and was concerned about the nudity, so I'll try to write a clear review to know what to expect! There are multiple options to choose from, with different fees: 1. You can just use the showers, tubs, dry/steam saunas for 2 hours 2. You can just use the showers, tubs, dry/steam saunas, with access to common area with snacks, red clay sauna, Himalayan salt sauna, and ice room 3 hours (jjimjilbang) 3. You can pick a service, such as different scrubs and massages for 60+ minutes, and you will have access to all the amenities listed above, including jjimjilbang. I picked the 1 hour Swedish massage for $120 and all the amenities were included in that price. They'll give you a uniform and you are required to wear those in the common/snack area, Himalayan salt/Red Clay sauna, and ice room. There are locker rooms separated by gender to change in. This massage was one of the best ones I've had! The lady did a great job in getting me relaxed, applied good pressure, and made sure she wasn't hurting me from time to time. After the massage, I took some time in the red clay sauna, Himalayan salt sauna, and ice room. The ice room was amazing after both saunas! The dry and steam saunas were great experiences as well. Every employee was super nice! The establishment itself is very clean. I loved the snacks, like fruit, Asian crackers, tea and water. I've been here before q long time ago but I booked a couples massage this time. Our appt was at 1230 so we showed up at 12. We walked through and were told where everything was. We changed into the uniforms and hing out in the common area for a bit then it was time for our appt. The massage was nice. It was deep tissue but the ladies used their forearm and elbows more than their fingers. Overall it was nice and relaxing with some good back cracking and deep tissue massage. I especially loved the dry sauna clay room and the steam rooms. My partner didn't use it too much but he enjoyed himself with the snacks in the common room. Definitely relaxing and nice getaway from reality for a couple of hours. I want to return to use the facilities for up to $50 for 2 hours .. good deal! It saddens me to write this, but I was really looking forward to a relaxing experience at this Korean Spa. If you check my reviews, you'll see I have many for K-spas across the US. I've been to several in San Francisco, Tampa, Chicago, LA, Denver, and more. Unfortunately, this was by far my least favorite. One thing I liked was that when you check in, someone shows you around and explains how the spa works, which is great for newcomers. However, the constant talking was unbearable. PLEASE STOP TALKING--IT'S A SPA, NOT A CAFE OR BAR. This really irks me about Korean spas; it takes away from the relaxing experience. I also did not enjoy my services. I love my scrubs and massages, but the lady who did my service clearly did not want to be there. I think her name was Quong. It was so embarrassing when I went to get my service done; you could tell she and another worker were discussing whether to take me or another person. Let's call her 'Q'--she barely did a massage (which was fine for me since I like it soft), but if you prefer deep massages, I wouldn't recommend her. They used Irish Spring soap! OMG, I was appalled. I love the soap that K-spas usually use for their scrubs, and Irish Spring felt like a locker room. I complained to the front desk about the excessive talking, but none of the guests seemed to care. On a positive note, the lady at the front desk was super kind, and I appreciated that they took the time to go over the facilities and rules. I haven't seen that before. The cold plunge was freezing, but I loved the steam room, sauna, and jacuzzis--they were very warm and enjoyable. However, the experience was ruined by the noisy customers. I wish Korean spas cared more about maintaining a quiet environment, but at the end of the day, it's about money. WOMEN, PLEASE BE QUIET--there are so many places where you can sit and talk with your friends, but so few quiet, relaxing places. If you go with your friend, be respectful; you're there to relax, not hang out. Unfortunately, the K-spa culture seems to be changing, and this was by far the loudest one I've been to. I would not go back. I've never said that about another Korean spa. Parking: The parking situation was also a major issue. There are only about six spots in front of the facility, so you have to drive to the back of the business area, which also has car shops and detailing services. I felt like a happy baby elephant at bath time when Unice washed my ears. I selected one of the most popular treatments this visit, a 90 minute Body Scrub & Coconut Oil & Brown Sugar Massage. The treatment was perfect and my skin feels amazing. Like most people I thought I was clean, I bathe daily and exfoliate, yet my skin felt awful. I believe this is in part to hard water. Yes, not everyone followed the house rules but just be happy they don't live in your house. My fears did not come to light from some of the reviews I previously read. The facility is clean. Great care was provided at service and throughout my stay. The quiet room was quiet with light talking. Some folks were in their zen space and did give closed off energy. Ignore them. Just be mindful of the space you occupy. Many folks were there for the first time and in the best spirits, especially when leaving. It was like a reset was pressed. Whoa! That was definitely an experience. Right from check-in, things got interesting. The woman at the front desk spoke so fast that I couldn't understand a word she said. She handed us a key bracelet for the locker room, a uniform, and a towel, then pointed us toward a door leading to two steam rooms and a jacuzzi. She mentioned that someone would come to get us, but thankfully, a fellow customer gave us the real scoop--strip down, shower, and wait your turn. Then, out came the tiniest woman, dressed in just a bra and underwear, shouting out numbers. She didn't speak any English but led us into a large room filled with about 20 tables, each covered in plastic and separated by a curtain. At that moment, I felt like a lump of dough at Cold Stone, about to be kneaded into shape--and that's pretty much what happened. I lay on the table, completely naked, as she doused me with hot water and started scrubbing away layers of dead skin. That was the bulk of our 90-minute session. The room was freezing, and every so often, she'd either throw more water on me or send me to rinse off in the shower before coming back for another round--whether it was conditioning my hair, a facial, or just more intense scrubbing. It was far from a relaxing experience. Afterward, you could access the other spa areas, which were much more enjoyable--mostly because no one was touching you. It's definitely something you should try at least once, but I feel like the reviews were a bit misleading. It was a unique experience, to say the least--cold, dreary, and awkward. Came here for a girls day (4 total) for the sauna and jjimjilbang. Made the reservation a week ahead of time and had no trouble with checking in. Note: the website won't let you book more than 3 ppl so I had to call in and then email them the request. Parking is limited. There are only a handful of spots by the store, the rest of the spots are in the mechanic shop lot nearby (there are no signs that prevents ppl from parking there so it should be fine). The common area is nice and quiet. Nice decor and dim lighting. Also comes with a little buffet of items such as watermelon, apples, candy, grapes, and drinks (iced tea, hot/cold/sparkling water). Women's locker is well maintained and clean, but they bunched all the women in one locker section so we had to wait for each other to access their assigned spaces even though there were plenty of open lockers in the next section. They Probably should space out their key numbers in a more efficient manner. The sauna rooms were nice! Loved the Himalayan salt room - perfectly heated room. The wet area was nice too - had a super steamy room (which seems to release more steam as more people enter). read more

The curtains were sheer, and he could clearly see my legs, yet he still decided to peek through. Felt very violated by a pervert. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I had to ask her five separate times to please go lighter because she was hurting me, yet she continued with excessive pressure and even scratching. I had such a great experience coming to Yu Spa. I purchased a wet area service which came with a full body scrub and coconut oil and brown sugar massage. My service also came with all-inclusive access to the jjimjilbang, co-ed lounge, and women's services. The jjimjilbang includes a Himalayan salt room which is mildly warm, clay dry sauna which is extremely warm, and the cold room which feels amazing after the hot saunas. The lounge has several comfy couches, free WiFi, and a complimentary snack bar and hot tea. The women's area concludes a free locker, uniform, towels, dry sauna, wet sauna, cold tub, hot tub, and showers. Pro tip: If you plan to get a scrub or massage service make sure to bring cash for tips. Bring shower shoes for the shower as well. Overall, my experience was great and my service was VERY thorough. The scrub I got was just epic. I can't believe how much dead skin they are able to get off of you. Come here for a refresh!!! We did the wet massage , as we entered the massage room, I honestly thought I had just stepped foot into a horror movie. Metal walls, rows of massage tables, drains on the floor. Like a factory set up to harvest our organs. Then , I do have to say. It was the most THOROUGH massage I have EVER had. Why didn't we leave you ask? They do take you on a tour of the common areas and then to the locker room to change. By the time we were changed after the tour, it had been about 25 minutes.
