I recently stopped by Yuan Soy Food and it's quickly become one of my favourite dessert stops. Their soy milk is made fresh, preservative-free, and tastes clean, no weird aftertaste, just pure soy goodness. Their soy pudding (tofu fa / 豆腐花) is silk soft, whether served warm or chilled, it holds up beautifully. They offer classic flavours like original, almond, and ginger!! each one has a gentle sweetness that doesn't overpower. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. The shop has a cozy, minimalist vibe with white counters, simple décor, and a friendly staff who seem to care about your order.

This place reminds me of Hong Kong style super simple tofu pudding 豆花 shops. Very cheap (for Canada anyways) and great flavour. Cash only. Hole in the wall, small. They have a few chairs. They had mango flavour and several other but we got the black jelly also. Both were good. The mango was so delicious. The tofu itself was really smooth. Just sweet enough, nowhere near too sweet. It's perfect and such a simple shop for a simple treat. I agree with the rest of YVR. This place for me is da bomb.

I discovered that their pudding and soymilk tasted alot better when dining in than buying to go. My favourite would be their almond and ginger flavored soybean pudding served hot. Their original flavour soymilk, coconut flavour soymilk and the summer special soymilk drink with grass jelly were also popular choices. I appreciate their modern ambiance and that the place is bright and clean. Service here is pretty efficient and there are four tables for sit down service. Free parking lot available and cash only for payments.

If you enjoy soy products, this place has some amazing soy beverages and dessert tofu. They offer both hot and cold options. My only complaint is this place is CASH only.

I' m usually not a huge fan of tofu pudding, but I keep coming back so that's how you know this place is just THAT good. Their tofu is genuinely so silky and smooth-- they weren't kidding when they said made fresh in-house! I'm generally a cold dessert fan, but I'd have to say that their warm tofu pudding has my entire heart (boss was so welcoming and made a great suggestion). I'd say it's the perfect sweetness for me but a few of the elders I went with said it's a little too sweet (so opt for the plain flavour if you don't have a sweet tooth). But you can't go wrong with the ginger, grass jelly or almond flavours!! My personal favourites are the almond and grass jelly. Their soy milk has a plethora of options as well, such as coconut, almond and chocolate. If you want to buy a jug to take home, you'd have to go several hours before closing because they sell out fast (thats how you know it's THAT good)! Overall, the price is so justifiable because it's hard to find any drink/food item for under $5 in this economy. If you haven't tried it out yet.. what are you waiting for!!

The ginger and black sesame soy pudding

GET YUAN SOY PUDDING here lah .. No NEED TO GO TO ASIA .. save the airfare lah Great soy puddings just like if you were in Hong Kong ... lots of flavors , coconut , sago, mango, ....,, we had the ginger and the black sesame ... There is also fresh soy milk in all sizes including family sizes as with the soy puddings . Good large font bilingual signage so if you don't read Chinese you can order it in both English or Chinglish as the spunky spiffy staff can process your order lah either cold or can warm it up. .. ... the staff is dressed in spiffy bright yellow uniforms (like the NHL Nashville Predators) with a matching ball cap ... they shud sell The caps as a novelty it's very nerdy as a gag gift or to wear while you play mah Jong or doing Karaoke. They close at 7pm but suggest they close at 8 so you can come by after dinner and don't have to rush ... You can order takeout. But also there is limited seating if you want to eat there. This allows you to watch the entertaining bobbing yellow hat staffs in their staccato machine gun Cantonese or Choppy Mandarin while jabbering away with their customers or explaining in Chinglish to customers that don't speak Chinese well ( the bananas) Or not at all ( mainly the Lofans ) Suggest they consider to put a few big screen TVs and play canton pop music to add to the experience .. lah -- with lyrics do you can along lah

Tried their regular sweetened soybean drink and pudding and loved both of them! I find the price quite reasonable, especially compared to bigger chains that focus on Chinese dessert. The pudding was very smooth and the perfect sweetness from the ginger syrup - I'll definitely return just for this! Overall, I think this place is meant for takeout with only a few small tables and minimal service. It's perfect to drop by after eating a meal in the area or after grocery shopping.

Amazing this place that sells soft tofu and soy milk. Service is fast. They serve hot and cold tofu that's just enough for dessert and not too sweet. They have a table or two but most people just grab takeaway.

I had the absolute best soy milk in Taiwan and could never find anything near it. This came pretty darn close: they have their "summer special" which is soy milk with grass jelly and other goodies and it was SO good. Their tofu was silky, light and incredibly refreshing. Our favorites were the grass jelly, coconut, and mango. Must visit if you love tofu/soy milk!

Very light and silky smooth texture tofu dessert.. but too sweet for my liking.. perhaps unsweetened with side syrup would be better .. conveniently located at the T&T plaza on Renfrew first floor

Clean interior, great food, cheap prices, and amazing service!! But bring cash !! They have a good amount of options to choose from and they're all at super affordable/ cheap prices that is also super good quality taste wise. The cashier gave us recommendations and because we only had $20, made sure we didn't go over budget. Super friendly staff, and the interior is pretty clean and spacious, not overly small. I was able to get their house special drink (which tastes amazing), two bowls of their dofu hua, one regular sized soy milk, and a family size soy milk as well for just under $20. Perfectly sweet and flavorful sauces!! Will definitely stop by again before my leave.

New spot in east Vancouver for tofu pudding and soy milk! $3.25 for a small, 8.25 for large tofu pudding. I enjoyed the hot sweet ginger tofu pudding - very silky and smooth. I also got a cup of almond soy milk for $2.35. Quite nice and not too sweet. Service is quick - more of a takeout to go spot.

This place was located in an area that would be best to walk with a friend or a small group- I was not quite prepared to see and experience what was going on all around. Finally, we made it there and were glad to order some doughnuts. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by the sweet smell of doughnuts and the two friendly staff. Everything looked so good, so narrowing down our pick was very hard! At the end, we ordered two flavours- Matcha and Tiramisu. The matcha doughnut was soft and the filling was light yet full of matcha flavour that one would expect, I loved every bite! My friend had the tiramisu doughnut and she said that she enjoyed the fluffy texture of the dough and the creamy filling- it felt like eating tiramisu in a doughnut form. I've only been to the original location on Robson years ago, so wasn't sure if the quality had stayed the same, but we thought it was worth trying. We ordered a Tiramisu and a Bresilienne to share between four people. It came out it in relatively short time. And wow, they were both even better than I remember. Their waffles are incredibly crisp and light, despite the amount of toppings on them. I don't know how they make them so they stay so resistant to going soggy. And despite the amount of whipped cream, ice cream and sauce on them, the waffle was always able to balance out the sweetness. Their waffles are just perfect balance of flavour and texture. Service was also quite impressive. Our server was very pleasant and attentive, and brought share plates with out being asked. Overall, a great dessert. I don't know why I haven't returned earlier.
