It is very seldom that I am in the mood for Donuts if they are not Krispy Kreme , however being in Sherman oaks I didint want to drive to Burbank ! This Yum Yum location is the best ! I had originally drove to the Yum yum donuts over on Lankershim and Oxnard and literally immediately walked out the donuts looked a mess like they were sweating in a Sauna lol ! I have been to Yum Yum Donuts probably like 6 or 7 times throughout the years. It is a great donut shop with fast service. Service can be hit or miss. Their food/pastries are very yummy, fresh and colorful. Great sandwiches and cold/hot beverages from coffee, latte, cappuccino, tea, soda, to water. Open 24/7 which is a bonus for people like me. Night owls... when you have a sweet tooth. Ambiance is not the greatest and the place is not that clean. They have couple of tables and chairs and each time that I went there, I had to clean their tables & chairs MYSELF to sit down. I mean come on people/employees of Yum Yum Donut, you guys are just standing there when you have no customers and you see that the tables and chairs are dirty, with crumbs, stains from the previous customers cups, and very STICKY!! Something that I hate so much. Even when you have customers and 3 employees in the front and back, can someone take 30 seconds and clean the tables/chairs?? It's part of your job. Restroom is right there, but they won't let you use it. If the food and beverages were not good I would have given 3 stars. Parking is right in front of the door and very accessible. Love that they are open 24/7 and the variety of donuts are for the most part fully stocked. The full menu is available throughout the day which means your cravings will be satisfied. I highly recommend ordering the freshly squeezed orange juice and when ordering bagels ask for double toasted- this makes a huge difference. For service- I was greeted right away. This location is about 5min car ride for me so I'm constantly coming in. My advice is to come super early or after morning school rush as you can see yourself waiting for a long time. Just got back from my trip to this spot based on the too Good To Go order I placed. Amazing! I got 11 donuts for just $5 through the app. They were super fast too, justwalked in, mentioned my too Good To Go order, and the employee quickly boxed up 11 random donuts for me. How the heck does Yum Yum Donuts have such bad reviews? Some of you are so darn picky. Our local family-owned donut shop was closed but we were craving maple bars so we headed over to Yum Yum. The store was clean, the staff was ready to assist, and the donuts were fresh. It's important to note that it was 7 pm on a Saturday and they had fresh donuts in their display case. I expected old(er) donuts or for them to be low in stock but I was wrong. The twists, maple bars, and donut holes were all great! The woman helping us out was really nice and made it a pleasant experience. Don't let the negative reviews prevent you from stopping by. Wow, over 10 years since my last review! Well, Carlos & Gladis & the family have been keeping the Inside Clean. They installed about 12 indoor cameras and many outside. No more High School Chaos and tagging inside...they get busted, outside too with the help of the other vendors too. My only criticism is not the franchise owner but Yum-Yum Corp themselves. The trash cans had a metal liner. They were stolen. Of the 2 trash can they had one of them became obsolete and useless. The only one left(without the metal liner) gets full too easily. Trash spills over to the parking lot...not pretty. I understand a request from Carlos( franchise owner) to the Yum Yum Corp. To replace the trash cans was put in over 6 months ago! The franchise owner are hamstrung by YumYum Corp. Policy...franchisees are not allowed to buy trash cans if their own to replace the stolen ones. Yum-Yum if you read this know that this location is in Valley Village- not ghetto! Not Low-income. I'm sure the Yum Yum supervisor is well aware of the need to replace the trash containers but, corporate is not listening. I stopped in closer to lunch time but I had a Chipotle breakfast burrito, which is a new flavor they added to their menu, besides ranchero. The family who ran the counter were quite friendly and fast. For only 8 dollars, I walked out with a combo of the breakfast burrito, a cup of coffee, and a jelly donut. The donuts are okay, but their 24/7 availability and online ordering is what really gets them even to 3-stars as they have saved me many times during the work week as I tend to order a lot of donuts for work events (can be up to 20dz in a week), spending quite a bit of money here. But coming in the mornings is like waiting in line at the DMV, super unfriendly and cold atmosphere, no friendly greeting or thank you at the very least -- at least to me -- and I come in several times a week, so customer service just isn't their strong suit. However if you speak Spanish, I have seen that the service is quite different. But I will still continue to buy as long as they remain 24/7 with online ordering. read more
