I just swore off donuts about a week ago but I was having a really bad day and Yum Yum was on my way home from work, so ... well, you know. They had tons of different types of donuts available, along with bagels, muffins, croissants, cake, sandwiches, coffee, tea, and fruit drinks (licaudo). I got a maple cruller and a filled chocolate bar to go. Both donuts tasted fresh and good, although the outside of the cruller was a little too crispy. The inside of it was nice and light though. The chocolate bar was filled with lots of cream and was so big I could only eat a little bit of it. Yum Yum has been at this location for over 40 years and is open 24 hours. I only gave them three stars in spite of enjoying the donuts because the ambiance felt kind of dismal and shabby and because I had an uncomfortable encounter with a customer who had a creepy vibe. But I'd probably go back if I had another really bad day and want to try and fix it with sugar. read more

Three stars and it's because they had a good carrot cake. Otherwise, it would be 2.5. carrot cake was moist with good blend of spices and balanced by the cream cheese icing. The donuts were just ok, on the dry side. Even the donut holes were dry. The Cronut was the driest and actually very hard that I could not eat it. I came in here with my son asking for an orange juice and I have a customer who always gets donuts for my customers. I spend sometimes $100 at a time.. they gave me attitude when I asked them for something else and told him the orange juice was very thick more pulp than juice, I make fresh juice myself and they kept saying it's natural. I said I know it is, but this is straight thick pulp.. They did nothing about it and looked at me as if I was stupid after all the money I've spent.. on top of it the donuts are not even that good they only speak Spanish, so if you cannot say buenos dias, good luck she'll get you the other girl from the other register to come help you. I ordered a dozen in person today and I got a few chocolate custard donuts and to my surprise when I came home they literally did not put any custard at all! Just a bunch of dough and all the chocolate on top just fell into pieces. All of the custard donuts were like this. Accidentally posted my review on the wrong shop so reposting on the correct place! My husband was craving sweets on the way home yesterday late afternoon. We decided to stop here for a few sweets. We got a huge Apple fritter which had berry incorporated into it. This was my favorite and really delicious! Definitely took me 3 servings before I finished the whole thing. We also enjoyed puffies which were a fried dough with vanilla cream and donut holes. My husband also ordered a jalapeño croissant. I saw this Doughnut Shop more than a few times, today is the day I go for it. I didn't know this Yum Yum Donuts is 24 Hours until recently. This is a must. I'm here in Willow Glen Monday night. Is this better than Red's Donuts, Randy's Donuts, or Pinkbox Doughnuts? There's a great selection here. They have a few things other Doughnut Shops out there don't got, like the Coconut Doughnut, Lemon Jelly Doughnut, and Apple Cinnamon Jelly Doughnut. I had the Apple Cinnamon Jelly Doughnut and Maple Glazed Doughnut earlier, it is delectable and scrumptious. I like the packaging and branding, it's very catchy, up to date, and bold. The place is cute, very small, a little hard on the parking, but worth it! They always have donuts, and they are always good. They do especially good custard filled, and their maple glaze is the best. Plus they have really tasty cake donuts here, little crispy on the outside and nice and soft with a good crumb on the inside. Outstanding late night donut tonight at around 11pm. Super fresh and the store is open 24 hours. Had a filled donut and an apple fritter. The filled donut would be very easy to tell if it were old but it tasted like it was freshly made within the past hour. Very impressive for late night munchies. It was airy and puffy but not soggy greasy like krispy kreme donuts. The apple fritter was great too. Substantial and good flavor. Its hard to tell if these things are old - but I suspect that it wasn't. Flavor of both were outstanding and it tells me they changed the oil recently and they probably do that regularly. That is a big expense and I can always sense when I get a donut with older oil pushing the limits of whats acceptable. Its a very casual place. You might find some people that are there around midnight after bars or who knows what. Parking was easy off street and big lot that was nearly empty. Inside was filled with people. Friendly and fast service. They had many options and lots of everything. Again, very impressive given I was there late night. Although this place has been under different ownership over the years, they are quite reliable in their variety, quantity of selection, and quality of donuts and coffee throughout the day and even into the night.
