We ordered 3 dishes. Rosè Topokki, which is chewy rolled cut noodles w a creamy just a little spicy sauce, Rosè Katsu, same sauce over katsu (pork), and a Chicken Katsu Curry. I would order all items again! My favorite would be the Katsu. I large pork cutlet plus we got a couple extra pieces cooked perfectly. Juicy while not oily. You can order it with different sauces. I'm a lover of spicy, yet savory Japanese curry paired with freshly steamed jasmine rice. It reminds me of my time in Japan and how much I miss it! My family and I have eaten Yumee Katsu several times now. We tried dining in during the weekend once, but the place was packed with a long wait. These are usually good signs that the restaurant is pretty good, right? So far I have ordered their curry katsu and chicken curry katsu. The Japanese curry is savory with just the right amount of spiciness. The pork and the chicken are OK, I just wish they were seasoned a bit better. Food was really good. We ordered the Katsu Curry and Donkatsu with Spicy Chewy Noodles. The katsu was cooked to perfection. It was juicy on the inside and the outside batter was panko breaded and light. It was fried but didn't make us feel heavy at all. The spicy noodles had a nice kick and were very delicious. Both dished were satisfying and flavorful! The only thing that came as a surprise to me was that the spicy chewy noodles was a cold noodle dish. I'm glad I enjoyed it. Plenty of tables and each has its own kiosk to order or they can personally take your order as well which we did as we had some special requests which they were kindly able to accommodate! I love me some katsu and I was stoked this place opened in Vacaville. Before, I had to go to Berkeley or SF for my fried cutlet needs. They have chicken and pork cutlets, and shrimps! If you like it cheesy, you can get cheese katsu, which is basically pork boat with cheese in it. Yumee offers udon soup, normal fried chicken, dumplings, kimchi dishes and fried fish dishes as well. The proteins come in sets that include miso soup, daikon radish, rice and a small mountain of cabbage for dat fiber tho. The katsu comes with dipping sauce that's similar to soy sauce. I tried the assorted katsu set with the cheese (2pc), shrimps (2pc) and chicken(4-5pc). I ate them in order of what wouldn't taste good after 10 minutes, which were the cheesy pork, the shrimp, followed by the chicken. I didn't want the cheese to get cold and solidify so I quickly took my photos and dipped it in the sauce while it was still HOT. I took a bite and the cheese pull game was strong. The mozzarella with the outer pork layer and crunchy exterior was delish AF! Highly recommend. The shrimps were jumbo size and delish! Wasn't overly battered. The chicken was good, tender and juicy. I dipped a piece in my friend's curry sauce and it made me want to try it the next time I came here. The curry was savory with a splash of spice. On my second visit I tried their curry udon with pork cutlet and my boo ordered the rose katsu, which had a creamy gochujang sauce on top. We ordered a side of the cheese katsu bc yeah, I love cheese. And it was perfect for sharing! The udon noodles were yum-worthy and the pork katsu were thinly sliced. The boo quite liked his rose katsu. It was spicy but just the right amount for someone who doesn't like spice. The portions were pretty good that we got full and had to pack some things to go. The sides that they had were good. I loved the cabbage salad bc it made me feel less guilty of all fried food I was inhaling. The soup was good but it was a little too salty. The daikon radish was aight. During my first visit, 2 of my friends who ordered the curry katsu said the curry sauce portion wasn't enough so they requested for more but it's an extra $5 for a small bowl of sauce!! I thought that was expensive like damn, is there edible gold in there? And it took them a while for the waiter to bring it out to the point their katsu was cold by then. Service was decent, it was busy the first time we went (Saturday night) and we had to wait for a table. When I went with my boo, we went on a Saturday afternoon and we were able to get a table right away and service was quick. You can order from a human or you can be an introvert and order from their tablet on the tables. Their location is near Edible Arrangements and not too far from Ulta. The building used to be a Mochinut donut shop and before that, a Quicklys. They did a good job of remodeling. The restaurant is mid size so it can fill up quickly for dinner time. I added us to the virtual waitlist and they texted us about 15 minutes later that our table was ready. I've been here at least 3x already and the food smacks every time!! I'm so happy to have a place like this in Vacaville. My favorite dish is probably the spicy chewy noodles and wings. I don't think I've ever had this specific type of spicy chewy noodles before because they were actually meant to be cold noodles. I've tried 3 different flavors of the wings and they're all delicious. I also love that they give cabbage and other small sides with almost every dish you can get there. The curry sauce is so good, I am so happy we don't have to drive a ways out to eat curry, katsu and korean fried chicken. The restaurant is clean and casual. The staff and servers has been wonderful. You can order your food via the ipad on the table but if you would like something custom, let your server know. I've been seeing some social media posts about this new spot so we made the one hour drive up to check it out! It's a smaller place but luckily we came early around 4pm on a Sunday so we were able to get a table easily for our party of 7. I love that you can order from the tablet at your table, so you're not stuck waiting for a server to come around, and you can add on things as you wish. They have a pretty good variety on the menu here, with katsu being the focus of course. At first glance you may think the prices are high but the portions will definitely match! You could potentially share a plate with someone and get an appetizer if you weren't too hungry. We all ordered 4 different items to get a taste of multiple things! The rosé katsu was definitely one of my favorites. I loved the sauce that it came with! The topokki katsu is an even bigger portion, with the rice cakes and fish cakes on the side. That would be a great dish to split with someone. I tried the curry from the chicken curry udon and that was extremely flavorful! Even our kids enjoyed the potstickers and the honey butter/soy garlic Korean fried chicken plate. Most of the dishes come with salad, soup, and rice, as well as a small dish of radish kimchi and regular pickled radish. It's a full meal but it was so good that I didn't even take any for leftovers! I've visited this place multiple times since their opening week, so this review is based on several experiences over time. When they first opened, the katsu was great as expected, but what really surprised me was the tteokbokki. It tasted just like the kind of delicious tteokbokki you'd find in Korea. spicy, flavorful, and authentic. Unfortunately, on later visits, the recipe seemed to change. It became less spicy and no longer had that same authentic Korean flavor. The chewy noodle also changed. In the beginning, they used actual chewy noodle (jjolmyeon noodles), but now it seems like they're using the same noodles typically found in udon dishes instead. Overall, the food is still very good, which is why I keep coming back. My main concern is with the restaurant's operation and attention to detail. Almost every time I'm seated, I notice food crumbs left on the chairs. It gives a poor first impression before the meal even starts. It feels like the staff wipe down the tables but don't pay much attention to crumbs that fall onto the seats. On my most recent visit, there was even a used chopstick wrapper and one unwrapped chopstick left on the table I chose. The server who brought the menu didn't seem to notice or address it, so I ended up throwing it away myself. I genuinely enjoy the food here and plan to continue coming back. That's exactly why I'm leaving this feedback, I hope the restaurant can improve these small cleanliness issues so customers can start their meals with a better experience. read more

I first saw Yumee Katsu on social media and was excited to see that Vacaville finally has a go-to spot for katsu and curry! I will admit, I was a little sad that it took over the old Mochinut location since Mochinut is no longer there, but hey, you can't go wrong with chicken katsu. I came here on a Monday night for dinner with a friend, and there was plenty of open seating. They hand you a physical menu to browse, but you actually place your order through a tablet that is at every table. The tablet was very user-friendly and made ordering super easy. Since it was our first time, we asked one of the servers to explain the menu a bit more, especially the King Don Katsu and the Rose Katsu. After hearing from the server, my friend ordered the King Don Katsu, and I went with the basic Chicken Katsu. At first, the prices felt a little high, but once we realized the meals come with soup, salad, sides, AND a bowl of rice, it felt more worth it. Our food came out pretty quickly, and the portion sizes were generous, so much so that both of us needed to-go boxes for leftovers. The katsu was extra crispy with a great amount of breading. One piece of my chicken katsu could've been cooked a little bit more, but it was still tasty, especially dipped in the katsu sauce. I also ordered a Curry Katsu to go for my husband since he's been craving curry katsu forever and there aren't many spots near us that offer it. Overall, I'm really glad Vacaville now has a dedicated katsu and curry spot since places like this are more in SJ or SF which can be a drive. My wife and I came to Yumee Katsu on a Friday evening for dinner. Yumee Katsu is located at the Nut Tree next to Thornton and Son Jewelers. It used to be occupied by Mochinut. This is our first time dining here since Yumee Katsu opened. They were daily busy, but luckily there was 1 table available. We were greeted and seated promptly. Since it was our first time, the staff explained that we could either order through the tablet on the table or through a staff member. We were handed physical menus to minimize scrolling on the tablet to figure what we wanted to order. We did end up ordering through the tablet. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Multiple staff came by to check if we needed anything or to fill our water which was appreciated. The ambiance was chill and pleasant. As for the food, they offer a fusion of Korean and Japanese dishes. I got the Spicy Pork Katsu special ($21.99) and my wife got the Half and Half KFC ($24.99). They are a little pricey for the area, but portions were big (except for the banchan which there were 2 different kinds, only 2 pieces). Nut Tree brings in another delicious restaurant to the mix! This spot took over where Mochinut used to be. I had a hard craving for curry udon and this place hit the spot just right. You can order from the table via a tablet, and there's lots of different dishes to choose from. I ordered the curry katsu udon, and my boyfriend ordered the chewy noodles with katsu. The katsu was super crunchy and light! The batter is airy, similar to almost tempura. You also get tiny dishes with daikon, soup, and a small cabbage salad. My boyfriend's chewy noodles were, well, chewy, and very delicious. The chewy noodles are also a cold dish, just as a heads up as I was expecting it to be a hot dish but still nontheless yummy. I heard about this spot so my boyfriend and I decided to check it out. We arrived at 07:30 pm on a Friday night and were told of a wait that would take up to an hour since we were 8th on the list, wasn't expecting that but good sign to know business is booming. The waitress was super nice though and informed us that since it was only a party of 2, she could change the wait to 30 minutes. We didn't mind and decided to walk around before eating, just a heads up if you plan on going you may not be served right away. When we got in the restaurant's interior was so nice, clean and just the right amount of light. They also have photos on the wall showcases their food. Speaking of food, I got the kimchi udon. This was perfect since I wanted something light with a kick. The kimchi broth was just the right amount of spicy and tang. The fishcakes were nice and juicy, I love fishcakes but it was my first time having them on a stick and it was amazing since it was 2 big pieces! The udon was cooked to perfection, and the kimchi and onion throughout was great as well. My meal came with small kimchi radishes both spicy and regularly picked as well as a small shredded cabbage salad with sauce. For me, this dish was a 9/10 and I would definitely get it again ^_^ My boyfriend got the chicken curry udon, it looked great and came with the same sides in addition to a small bowl of a soy base sauce that I tasted. It was pleasant as it was so chilly outside so our meals hit the spot. Near the end we ended up also ordering the cheese katsu as my boyfriend had his eye on it. I would describe this as the katsu version of a mozzarella stick. Personally, I thought this was better, I like that you can see the inside, the breading is nice, light and crispy, and the cheese pull was satisfactory. Service was a 10/10, we were checked on regularly, drinks were always refilled, we were asked if we were enjoying the meal and if everything was okay. I do wish they had spice levels for the curry. Soy garlic and Yangnyeom fried chicken- 10/10! Comes with all the sides just like the katsu. For the price, REALLY good compared to other korean fried chicken spots. They don't do bone in chicken though, it's just boneless, however they use dark meat which makes ALL the difference! I love that there's no upcharge for doing a half and half order, and the portion size is huuuuuge! It's supposed to come with pickled radish too but I kid you not, they gave us 3 cubes, and "cubes" is generous cause they weren't really cubes lol IDK what was up with that but everything else was great. The soy garlic is really good! Not spicy at all, kind of muted, but so delicious without being overwhelming. If you like a bolder flavor, get the Yangnyeom for sure. It's sweeter, spicier, and more in your face! I love me a sticky icky chicken, so this one will be my go to every time. All the employees who waited on us were nice and friendly. We asked for a pitcher of water so they didn't have to keep coming back to refill the tiny cups. I don't think that's standard practice since our waitress was confused, but they were accommodating for sure. The woman who packed up our leftovers even gave us a couple to go cups of the pickled yellow radish and kimchi. It's a really small serving, but I love the gesture. I looooved this place. It's a cute, warmly lit, casual restaurant. I got the assorted Katsu with a mini udon add on and my husband got a chicken katsu. We were seated right away. U can order on the kiosk or with the waitress. The food came out quickly. The udon was such a cute size for my toddler. The noodles were chewy and fresh. The broth was good and just the right temperature. The cheese katsu had a satisfying cheese pull. the shrimp and chicken katsu were breaded perfectly and tasted like they were just made to order. the rice bowl with a little seaweed on top was yummy and complemented the dish along with the tiny serving of radish. Yumee Katsu is such an exciting new addition to Nut Tree Plaza in Vacaville! The menu has so many options, and honestly, everything looks incredibly tempting. We ordered the Kimchi Nabe, Assorted Katsu, Rose Katsu, dumplings, and fried shrimp and every single dish delivered!!! What really stood out was the crispiness of the katsu. The batter is so light and perfectly fried that it never overpowers the protein, which I truly appreciate. The assorted katsu was a standout, especially the cheese katsu. A new katsu, curry, udon spot near the outlet is a win. Perfect for when i want to stop by before or after going to the bay area. . Busy inside during dinner which is great. Parking lot is big but filled quickly. I waited a short 20 mins on a Saturday evening around 7pm. . I got the curry udon with shrimp katsu, deep fried. The shrimp was big and the batter was light. The udon was comforting with flavorful curry sauce which was umami. . The mixed katsu plate with thick cut pork katsu and shrimp katsu and cheesy pork katsu was amazing. The cheesy pork katsu had a melted cheese pull in between the deep fried pork. This is a must get. Pairs with miso soup, and cabbage and rice is a perfect balance. . Korean fried chicken which they have the red spicy sauce chicken and honey butter fried chicken. Comfort korean snack with a ice cold beer for sure. . What is all the hype about on Yelp for this place? Because they have VERY GOOD food! Nothing crazy or out of the ordinary but just solid good Katsu. I had the Katsu Chicken Curry. The breading on the katsu was perfect. Light and crispy with a very juicy chicken interior. Came out as cute little soup with a small portion of salad, soup and a couple of radishes. Delightful. My friend had the Kimchi Nabe and she said it was very good. I saw giant pieces of Katsu inside her soup. The place was very busy on a Friday night. First time ordering from here(online). Pricing is little on the higher side. The portions were good. I ordered the king don katsu, flavor was good but I thought the pork was going to be a good size pork chop but it was thin. My wife got the asst katsu and the cheese katsu was thin as well like a string cheese stick and not like the picture. The cheese was the same size as the shrimp. With the meals it came with miso soup which was really good and had Benito flakes it. We also ordered a side of curry to try and both that and katsu sauce was on point. The curry we had to order when we got there because there was no online option. The half and half chicken(soy garlic and yangnyeom) had great flavor and crunch. I ordered from DoorDash after hearing good things about Yumee Katsu. It was hard to decide but I ended up with the Yumee udon and topokki katsu. It arrived quickly and was still piping out. They had special take out containers that had separate compartments! So the udon wasn't mushy. You add it yourself so it's still the perfect texture. The topokki has a spicy kick that's so comforting in winter. Generous portions. One item was enough for me to be full. The katsu was wonderful! It was crunchy but the breading was light. It didn't tasty oily. Next time I want to try the soy garlic and honey butter chicken. Vacaville has another Korean spot in town (Blue House KBBQ) but they don't have those flavors. If I'm craving katsu Yumee Katsu will be my place! (I have made katsu myself at home but honestly Yumee Katsu does it better and it's nice not dealing with all that oil from deep frying.) read more

Nice service, minimal ambiance, good amount of tables being used when we came late afternoon on a Saturday. Enjoyed my sampler plate with the cheese pork and shrimp katsu. Well fried and not oily. I like the silver portion on the plate that stops your dish from getting soft from the heat/ steam. I liked the dipping sauce and that it came with radishes rice and broth. Kiddo ate the fried chicken but we misread and thought it would be bone in which is our favorite. Well fried though a little soft in texture. BD liked the chicken katsu. It was juicier than my pork. We made a stop for lunch after our trip from Tahoe. This was a very popular lunch spot in the area! We added ourselves to the waitlist and waited about 20 minutes.
