Family of 4 decided to give this new place a try that's located in the nut tree plaza! Place is clean and spacious. Plenty of tables and each has its own kiosk to order or they can personally take your order as well which we did as we had some special requests which they were kindly able to accommodate! Price is a bit up there about $20-ish avg per person BUT don't be fooled.. the quality and the quantity of the meals will make you say oOoOooOh that's why! Kids got the udon with shrimp tempura and we had the pork Katsu with the Rose Topokki with pork Katsu.. BOTH kids LOVED it! = WIN for the parents! Broth was flavorful & honestly the Rose Topokki with that crack sauce..... THE BEST! Good thing the kid was nice enough to share! Lol! I love me some katsu and I was stoked this place opened in Vacaville. Before, I had to go to Berkeley or SF for my fried cutlet needs. They have chicken and pork cutlets, and shrimps! If you like it cheesy, you can get cheese katsu, which is basically pork boat with cheese in it. Yumee offers udon soup, normal fried chicken, dumplings, kimchi dishes and fried fish dishes as well. The proteins come in sets that include miso soup, daikon radish, rice and a small mountain of cabbage for dat fiber tho. The katsu comes with dipping sauce that's similar to soy sauce. I tried the assorted katsu set with the cheese (2pc), shrimps (2pc) and chicken(4-5pc). I ate them in order of what wouldn't taste good after 10 minutes, which were the cheesy pork, the shrimp, followed by the chicken. I didn't want the cheese to get cold and solidify so I quickly took my photos and dipped it in the sauce while it was still HOT. I took a bite and the cheese pull game was strong. The mozzarella with the outer pork layer and crunchy exterior was delish AF! Highly recommend. The shrimps were jumbo size and delish! Wasn't overly battered. The chicken was good, tender and juicy. I dipped a piece in my friend's curry sauce and it made me want to try it the next time I came here. The curry was savory with a splash of spice. On my second visit I tried their curry udon with pork cutlet and my boo ordered the rose katsu, which had a creamy gochujang sauce on top. We ordered a side of the cheese katsu bc yeah, I love cheese. And it was perfect for sharing! The udon noodles were yum-worthy and the pork katsu were thinly sliced. The boo quite liked his rose katsu. It was spicy but just the right amount for someone who doesn't like spice. The portions were pretty good that we got full and had to pack some things to go. The sides that they had were good. I loved the cabbage salad bc it made me feel less guilty of all fried food I was inhaling. The soup was good but it was a little too salty. The daikon radish was aight. During my first visit, 2 of my friends who ordered the curry katsu said the curry sauce portion wasn't enough so they requested for more but it's an extra $5 for a small bowl of sauce!! I thought that was expensive like damn, is there edible gold in there? And it took them a while for the waiter to bring it out to the point their katsu was cold by then. Service was decent, it was busy the first time we went (Saturday night) and we had to wait for a table. When I went with my boo, we went on a Saturday afternoon and we were able to get a table right away and service was quick. You can order from a human or you can be an introvert and order from their tablet on the tables. Their location is near Edible Arrangements and not too far from Ulta. The building used to be a Mochinut donut shop and before that, a Quicklys. They did a good job of remodeling. The restaurant is mid size so it can fill up quickly for dinner time. WOW (5/5 stars) I am so impressed with the katsu from this place. The quality instantly took me back to Hawaii and Japan. It's that good. I ordered the Katsu Curry Udon to go, and everything was packed perfectly. I was genuinely amazed by how neatly it was arranged, how generous the portions were, and how delicious every bite turned out to be. There's plenty of seating inside, and it looks like a great spot to dine in. The staff were very welcoming when I walked in, but since it was just me, I ordered for pickup and ate outside at the public tables. From what I could see, the menus are on tablets, and it seems like you can order directly from them too. The katsu was perfectly breaded, crunchy, and thinly sliced. My mom and I stopped by Yumee Katsu in the late afternoon and it was still busy - that was our first good sign! I added us to the virtual waitlist and they texted us about 15 minutes later that our table was ready. I had the assorted katsu that came with pork, shrimp, and cheese katsu along with pickled daikon, rice, soup, cabbage salad, and a dipping sauce. Everything was fresh and delicious! I've been here at least 3x already and the food smacks every time!! I'm so happy to have a place like this in Vacaville. My favorite dish is probably the spicy chewy noodles and wings. I don't think I've ever had this specific type of spicy chewy noodles before because they were actually meant to be cold noodles. I've tried 3 different flavors of the wings and they're all delicious. I also love that they give cabbage and other small sides with almost every dish you can get there. The portion sizing is very generous. The other people I've gone with have ordered curry udon dishes and have said they liked them as well. The breading on the different katsu's is light and flavorful. The staff are usually friendly and attentive. They do get busy and have a small space. Ever since we tried Yumee Katsu, we've been coming back! The food is so fresh and delicious. The curry sauce is so good, I am so happy we don't have to drive a ways out to eat curry, katsu and korean fried chicken. The restaurant is clean and casual. The staff and servers has been wonderful. You can order your food via the ipad on the table but if you would like something custom, let your server know. I recommend getting the half & half korean fried chicken (it's boneless and large portion!). My personal favorite is yangmeon and honey butter. I've been seeing some social media posts about this new spot so we made the one hour drive up to check it out! It's a smaller place but luckily we came early around 4pm on a Sunday so we were able to get a table easily for our party of 7. I love that you can order from the tablet at your table, so you're not stuck waiting for a server to come around, and you can add on things as you wish. They have a pretty good variety on the menu here, with katsu being the focus of course. At first glance you may think the prices are high but the portions will definitely match! You could potentially share a plate with someone and get an appetizer if you weren't too hungry. We all ordered 4 different items to get a taste of multiple things! The rosé katsu was definitely one of my favorites. I loved the sauce that it came with! The topokki katsu is an even bigger portion, with the rice cakes and fish cakes on the side. That would be a great dish to split with someone. I tried the curry from the chicken curry udon and that was extremely flavorful! Even our kids enjoyed the potstickers and the honey butter/soy garlic Korean fried chicken plate. Most of the dishes come with salad, soup, and rice, as well as a small dish of radish kimchi and regular pickled radish. It's a full meal but it was so good that I didn't even take any for leftovers! I first saw Yumee Katsu on social media and was excited to see that Vacaville finally has a go-to spot for katsu and curry! I will admit, I was a little sad that it took over the old Mochinut location since Mochinut is no longer there, but hey, you can't go wrong with chicken katsu. I came here on a Monday night for dinner with a friend, and there was plenty of open seating. They hand you a physical menu to browse, but you actually place your order through a tablet that is at every table. The tablet was very user-friendly and made ordering super easy. Since it was our first time, we asked one of the servers to explain the menu a bit more, especially the King Don Katsu and the Rose Katsu. After hearing from the server, my friend ordered the King Don Katsu, and I went with the basic Chicken Katsu. At first, the prices felt a little high, but once we realized the meals come with soup, salad, sides, AND a bowl of rice, it felt more worth it. Our food came out pretty quickly, and the portion sizes were generous, so much so that both of us needed to-go boxes for leftovers. The katsu was extra crispy with a great amount of breading. One piece of my chicken katsu could've been cooked a little bit more, but it was still tasty, especially dipped in the katsu sauce. I also ordered a Curry Katsu to go for my husband since he's been craving curry katsu forever and there aren't many spots near us that offer it. Overall, I'm really glad Vacaville now has a dedicated katsu and curry spot since places like this are more in SJ or SF which can be a drive. Date night called for something new, and Yumee Katsu has been on our list - so we finally gave it a try! We came in on a Wednesday evening and were seated immediately with no wait. The space felt clean, cozy, and modern with a relaxed vibe that made it perfect for a casual date night. It wasn't too loud, so we could actually enjoy conversation during dinner. We were greeted warmly, given menus, and told we could order either through our server or the tablet at the table. We used the tablet, which was super easy, and our food came out quickly. My wife and I came to Yumee Katsu on a Friday evening for dinner. Yumee Katsu is located at the Nut Tree next to Thornton and Son Jewelers. It used to be occupied by Mochinut. This is our first time dining here since Yumee Katsu opened. They were daily busy, but luckily there was 1 table available. We were greeted and seated promptly. Since it was our first time, the staff explained that we could either order through the tablet on the table or through a staff member. We were handed physical menus to minimize scrolling on the tablet to figure what we wanted to order. We did end up ordering through the tablet. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Multiple staff came by to check if we needed anything or to fill our water which was appreciated. The ambiance was chill and pleasant. As for the food, they offer a fusion of Korean and Japanese dishes. I got the Spicy Pork Katsu special ($21.99) and my wife got the Half and Half KFC ($24.99). They are a little pricey for the area, but portions were big (except for the banchan which there were 2 different kinds, only 2 pieces). I love this add to Vacaville. It's not a huge restaurant but their food delivers big flavors. Katsu is good and I appreciate the portions. I really like the cheese katsu but glad I did the combo because I don't think I'd be able to eat an entire plate of it. Also, I enjoyed the tteokbokki. Visited on 1/30/26, we arrived around 7PM; we can see at the front, the restaurant was bustling and had a line outside. We quickly joined the waitlist and after waiting around 30 minutes, we got seated at a table in the corner. Our orders got taken quickly through a kiosk placed on the table. The fried pork katsu was crispy and extremely filling, it paired perfectly with the creamy curry sauce and simple udon base. It was quite comforting to eat, definitely would reorder. We hadn't realized the chicken they served here was meant to be served as an entree, but the chicken had a delicious, savoury flavor and crunch to it. The katsu was super crunchy and light! The batter is airy, similar to almost tempura. You also get tiny dishes with daikon, soup, and a small cabbage salad. I heard about this spot so my boyfriend and I decided to check it out. We arrived at 07:30 pm on a Friday night and were told of a wait that would take up to an hour since we were 8th on the list, wasn't expecting that but good sign to know business is booming. We didn't mind and decided to walk around before eating, just a heads up if you plan on going you may not be served right away. When we got in the restaurant's interior was so nice, clean and just the right amount of light. They also have photos on the wall showcases their food. Speaking of food, I got the kimchi udon. This was perfect since I wanted something light with a kick. The kimchi broth was just the right amount of spicy and tang. The fishcakes were nice and juicy, I love fishcakes but it was my first time having them on a stick and it was amazing since it was 2 big pieces! The udon was cooked to perfection, and the kimchi and onion throughout was great as well. My meal came with small kimchi radishes both spicy and regularly picked as well as a small shredded cabbage salad with sauce. For me, this dish was a 9/10 and I would definitely get it again ^_^ My boyfriend got the chicken curry udon, it looked great and came with the same sides in addition to a small bowl of a soy base sauce that I tasted. It was pleasant as it was so chilly outside so our meals hit the spot. Near the end we ended up also ordering the cheese katsu as my boyfriend had his eye on it. I would describe this as the katsu version of a mozzarella stick. Personally, I thought this was better, I like that you can see the inside, the breading is nice, light and crispy, and the cheese pull was satisfactory. I had never heard of fish katsu before, but I decided to try something new... and wow. It was absolutely delicious. We're finally getting some decent restaurants in the local area and I am soooo here for it!!! Yumee Katsu specializes in.. drumroll please... KATSU duh haha but they have pork, chicken, shrimp (tempura? not really a katsu), and also a cheese one!! The cheese one does have a super thin lining of meat inside, but it was hard to tell. In true foodie fashion, I ordered an insane amount of food for two: Donkatsu with spicy chewy noodle- The donkatsu itself was more like a 7/10 because the meat was pretty dry. The outside is super crispy though and fried well. The noodles were my favorite part of this dish! Have to give the noodz a 8.5/10! I wasn't expecting much, but they were surprisingly so good and I loved the chew. Rightfully named because they're chewy AF. The sauce is sweet, savory, spicy, and clings to the noodles just perfectly! I think this would be good served with a scissor for easier eating/serving. I wish this was available as a side because it doesn't really pair well with the donkatsu. Cheese katsu - 10/10 the cheese pull was insane! make sure you eat this hot though, otherwise you'll feel like you're eating a block of cheese. The katsu sauce that comes with it was really good too. Sweet and tangy! All Katsu orders come with a little cabbage salad, rice, tiny sides of pickled radish, kimchi and a miso soup. The tiny sides were underwhelming but a nice contrast against the fried food. The salad dressing semi tastes like thousand island, but better, and the soup was super hot and delicious. Side of Curry - ordered a side of this to dip the donkatsu. We got a good size bowl of it but I want to say it was like $6? Doesn't have any veggies or anything, it's just a thick curry sauce, but that sauce is rich and flavorful! Good to dip and good to pour over your rice! I'm going to try the curry udon next time. I do wish they had spice levels for the curry. Soy garlic and Yangnyeom fried chicken- 10/10! Comes with all the sides just like the katsu. For the price, REALLY good compared to other korean fried chicken spots. They don't do bone in chicken though, it's just boneless, however they use dark meat which makes ALL the difference! I love that there's no upcharge for doing a half and half order, and the portion size is huuuuuge! It's supposed to come with pickled radish too but I kid you not, they gave us 3 cubes, and "cubes" is generous cause they weren't really cubes lol IDK what was up with that but everything else was great. The soy garlic is really good! Not spicy at all, kind of muted, but so delicious without being overwhelming. If you like a bolder flavor, get the Yangnyeom for sure. It's sweeter, spicier, and more in your face! I love me a sticky icky chicken, so this one will be my go to every time. All the employees who waited on us were nice and friendly. We asked for a pitcher of water so they didn't have to keep coming back to refill the tiny cups. I don't think that's standard practice since our waitress was confused, but they were accommodating for sure. The woman who packed up our leftovers even gave us a couple to go cups of the pickled yellow radish and kimchi. It's a really small serving, but I love the gesture. This is a part of a chain of restaurants here in Solano county. The Chicken Katsu Udon was delicious. The dumplings were okay but the rest of the food was amazing. Nice service, minimal ambiance, good amount of tables being used when we came late afternoon on a Saturday. Enjoyed my sampler plate with the cheese pork and shrimp katsu. Well fried and not oily. I like the silver portion on the plate that stops your dish from getting soft from the heat/ steam. I liked the dipping sauce and that it came with radishes rice and broth. Kiddo ate the fried chicken but we misread and thought it would be bone in which is our favorite. Well fried though a little soft in texture. BD liked the chicken katsu. It was juicier than my pork. Would come back but it's over an hour from me so special occasion. Great location as it's near the outlets and tons of shopping and other dining experiences. read more

I ordered from DoorDash after hearing good things about Yumee Katsu. It was hard to decide but I ended up with the Yumee udon and topokki katsu. It arrived quickly and was still piping out. They had special take out containers that had separate compartments! So the udon wasn't mushy. You add it yourself so it's still the perfect texture. The topokki has a spicy kick that's so comforting in winter. Generous portions. One item was enough for me to be full. The katsu was wonderful! It was crunchy but the breading was light. It didn't tasty oily. Next time I want to try the soy garlic and honey butter chicken. Vacaville has another Korean spot in town (Blue House KBBQ) but they don't have those flavors. If I'm craving katsu Yumee Katsu will be my place! (I have made katsu myself at home but honestly Yumee Katsu does it better and it's nice not dealing with all that oil from deep frying.) read more

We made a stop for lunch after our trip from Tahoe. This was a very popular lunch spot in the area! We added ourselves to the waitlist and waited about 20 minutes. You can order via the wait staff or through the iPad. I got the curry udon with shrimp tempura. It was delicious and came with a side of soup, salad, and radish kimchi. read more

Japanese inspired Katsu place with a Korean twist. The Katsu portions are huge, similar to the new trend with XXL sizes. Mixture of rice, noodle as bases with Curry to give it an extra zing. Can't forget the side dishes including Korean Ttookboki (rice cake) either spicy or rose cream flavors although the amount was less than I'm used too (would like a tad more) just like the Pojangmacha in Seoul. Having katsu curry so close to home is a game changer the katsu curry was good combined, katsu was crunchy and yummy, could use a bit more seasoning. My husband and I ate here last weekend for the first time. I had the curry katsu with udon and he had the mixed Korean Fried Chicken plate. All were very good. They both came with some sides...salad, soup, some type of pickled vegetable. Kind of pricey, but would definitely return. Service was also quick. read more

First time eating here, and it was really YUMMY! Get it, Yummy- Yumee... and from reading the reviews, I knew I was going to get the Curry Katsu! I did not eat all day so I came pretty hungry! I remember a Katsu spot at the Source in LA so I had big expectations! Here's what I thought: Location was the old MochiNut spot at Nut Tree. Lots of parking. When you enter there's a couple of tables on each side, you can still bring a large party to eat in here but it can get packed. Went on a Tuesday at 6pm and there was still a lot of people eating here. You can order from the waiter or the small tablet on the table. You can add on also if you are still hungry. Now to the Food!! It was phenomenal. I like the breading on my Curry Katsu, the pork was juicy, and it had the right crispiness as you take your first bite even after slathering it in the Curry sauce. Very subtle, not overbearing. They serve it with rice, and the salad- I look at how they slice up the cabbage- it has to be finely sliced with the dressing- it was good. They serve two small pickled radishes, and a Katsu sauce. The soup was a sip sauce with tempura bits in it. My husband got the Donkatsu Spicy Chewy Noodle. The spiciness was a 6/10 if you compare to how spicy Buldak Ramen can be. Love how the noodles were drenched in the sauce but still had a bite to it. My son got the half and half, my fav is the Honey Butter because of how they bread the chicken! This new katsu spot in Vacaville is an absolute gem! It's located in a super convenient plaza with lots of shopping nearby and even a huge play area for kids, which makes it a great place for families. They've only been open a week or two, but they're already off to an amazing start. We started with the dumplings and fried shrimp, both were excellent. The shrimp was lightly breaded, perfectly crisp, and the inside was soft and full of flavor. The dumplings had a crunchy exterior with an airy yet packed filling that tasted fresh and well seasoned. I ordered the kimchi nabe and was blown away. It's unlike anything I've tried before! It was rich, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. Every ingredient complemented the next, and the soup stayed piping hot the entire meal. I'm not usually one to go for spicy dishes, but this was the perfect level of heat: enjoyable and totally manageable. Ordering is super easy with the tablet at each table, or you can order through the staff if you prefer. Service was quick, and everyone working there was friendly and welcoming. Most tables seat up to four; I'm not sure if they can accommodate larger groups, but the layout feels flexible. Have been coming here since soft launch, at least a few times a week. Great to see a Katsu speciality restaurant in the area, the nearest I believe would be Daly City, and even this I like this spot much better than other katsu spots. The menu definitely understates how much food you get. For example, fish katsu shows a picture of 2 filets but you get much more! My go to meals here are the Rose Topokki (Creamy version of Tteok-bokki pretty much), Fish Katsu, and Curry Chicken Rice. Excellent food with great prices.
