I've been searching for a solid banh mi spot between Fairfield and Vacaville for a while now, and I'm honestly glad I finally found Saigon. From the first bite, I could tell this place was different. The bread had that perfect crisp on the outside while still being soft inside, the ingredients tasted fresh, and everything came together really well. You can tell they actually care about the quality of the food here. I've tried quite a few banh mi spots around the area, and this is easily one of the best I've had in a long time. This was my second time trying their food. The first time we ordered to-go and got banh mi sandwiches. The pork one was really dry and the chicken was just okay, but we decided to give them another try and dine in this time. When we arrived, we were seated and greeted pretty quickly. There wasn't anyone else there, so we figured the food would come out fairly fast. After about 15 minutes, one of the chicken banh mi sandwiches came out and was dropped off by the cook. We were searching for something light and quick for lunch and stumbled upon this little gem of a place. Tucked in a little strip mall, we decided to try this place. We ordered a beef, pork báhn mis and the pork sausage roll. Everything was delicious! The meat in the bánh mis were perfectly grilled and seasoned. My son, his friend and I went hiking at Pena Adobe in Vacaville in the morning. We were all craving Pho after we were done. My dad and I had visited Saigon Pho a while back and had not left satisfied, but the boys and I decided to give it a second chance. The restaurant is clean and simple. We all ordered a large order of P1 (Pho with Eye Round). The server brought out the accoutrements for the Pho. We only waited for maybe 5 minutes before our steaming bowls of Pho came out. The serving size is awesome. After having Pho made at home growing up, it's hard to compare the meat to noodles ratio, but it seemed reasonable. The broth was quite tasty, but we were unable to finish it all. I love the fresh add-ins - Thai basil is my favorite! We are pleased to report that this second time was a MUCH better experience than the first. We left with full bellies and the desire to return again! read more

The great thing about Saigon Pho is it's pretty easy to find off of Elmira. There is a decent-sized parking lot in the little town center it's located in, right next door to a nail salon. Service was great everyone was kind and attentive. We arrived around 6pm on a Monday evening. We ordered the Dac Biet(Combination) Pho, fried egg rolls and the Lychee Smoothie. Service is FAST. Our order came out less than 10 min after ordering, and everything was served hot, which is a major plus. The restaurant was getting full, but with no wait. Broth had great flavor, steak pieces were nice and soft. What I didn't care for were the pieces of meat with some tendon attached. These were a bit tough to chew, and could not get them to break down after chewing, wouldn't recommend this to anyone who has issues with choking tendencies/elderly/toddlers could be a potential hazard. I gave up and had to place the chewy tendons with meat attached in a napkin for disposal. The fried egg rolls were tasty with a sweet and sour type of sauce served with it, and inside of the egg rolls were filed up well more meat than wrapper made a great egg roll. Lychee smoothie was nice blended cold, filled with Lychee flavor and creamy . My biggest gripe was their restaurant restroom, and back area being a mess. There is a lot going on in the back of the restaurant, had I seen the back or the restaurant initially I don't know if I would have wanted to try the food. There are a lot of things stored in the back which is typical I think of most restaurants, but the way things were stored could probably be a bit more refined. The floors looked like it had not been mopped in awhile. When finally getting yourself to the restroom you may be waiting if you're unable to decipher if someone is inside. The door handle felt locked because the handle could not turn easily to open, then after a few minutes of waiting just because I was worried of disturbing anyone that may be inside, I turned the handle again and it actually was vacant to my surprise! The door lock doesn't seem to function easily so it's hard to tell if it's locked or unlocked even FROM THE INSIDE. The toilet was not being monitored by staff and was clogged, besides that about to overflow with a not-so-pleasant remaining in the toilet bowl with what could be seen by trying to get to the sink to quickly and efficiently wash my hands. The paper towel dispenser handle was not attached, which made it difficult to figure out how to get the paper towels out. Eventually I figured it can be dispensed by pushing down on a small arm attached to the dispenser, missing the handle at the tip. Saigon Pho has the potential to be better since the staff seem happy to work there, I think they can be encouraged to make sure these other standards are being met. read more

My wife was craving the Vietnamese Beef Stew and in the past Saigon Pho carried this soup, but they no longer sell it. She opted for another beef soup which was good, but wasn't quite like the Beef Stew. I got the Combo Pho and a Grilled Pork Banh Mi. We also ordered Fresh Spring Rolls. We ordered by phone and was told the order would be ready in 15 minutes. We arrived in about 15 minutes and our order was ready. The restaurant was about 1/2 full, but we were greeted and served right away. The spring rolls with their peanut sauce were delicious. The Combo Pho has always been spot on as their broth is well seasoned, not greasy, not overly salty or sweet. The problem with take out is you do need to heat the soup in the microwave as by the time you take it home it's not piping hot, so the meat does not get cooked. The Pork Banh Mi used to be really good, but this time they were lacking in portion of grilled pork and the picked daikon and carrots were not very pickled. Overall, I still like Saigon Pho over the other Vietnamese Restaurants if I am in the mood for Pho as I like their broth the most. read more

It's been a while since I last visited. After the ownership changed, I tried the food a couple of times and felt it just wasn't quite the same as before. That was a few months ago, so I decided to give it another try today. I'm really glad I did. The food was much better this time, and the service stood out too. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. When I came back in after moving my car (most of the parking out front is 15-minute spots), she greeted me again and asked where I'd like to sit, not realizing I already had a table. It was a small moment, but it made me feel welcome. My friend had the pork chop rice plate with egg and said it was just how he likes his pork chops. I ordered the large brisket pho with egg noodles. It had good flavor, though I was a little surprised that egg noodles cost an extra dollar. The portion also felt closer to a medium than a large. My favorite phở spot in Vacaville! I've gone here a few times and this time I had the phở đặc biệt and my wife got the bún bò Huế. Both were delicious! My wife is from Saigon and she said that the food was delicious and authentic. All of the staff is kind and welcoming. The atmosphere definitely makes me feel like I'm in Vietnam which is awesome! It's a small store so seating choices are limited. I think it's a Vacaville thing but this store also seems to put the hoisin sauce in red containers. First time here and most likely will be my last. I went on a Saturday around 6pm. The parking lot was pretty busy. Walked in and right away was seated which I was surprised because they were really busy. Ordered pho with shrimp as an add on, however, when I got my pho it was a seafood pho. They quickly brought out my correct order. I was so disappointed at how little meat there was. The pho flavored had different taste than what I'm use to, not bad just not to my liking. Looked forward to a boba drink but they were out of boba, Oreo, and mango. The server did give me a discount on the drinks. They took forever to bring the drinks out. They were fried perfectly and so crispy. The spice level was subtle, so could have been spicier for my taste. Loved how crispy the chicken was and how juicy the meat was. Would order again. I had the beef pho with rare steak. Broth was flavorful, not at all greasy. Next time I would order half noodle - the amount was a bit much, and I would have preferred more broth. Ended up with 4 starts because of the herbs/additions. I'm very parcial to lime versus lemon, and the amount of Thai basil was skimpy. We wanted to go to the Saigon pho restaurant in Fairfield but they were closed yesterday. So we went to this location for the first time in Vacaville. I had never heard about it from anyone but I trusted it's high Yelp score. We ordered two bobas and the drinks were really good mango and pineapple, but the boba balls were very tough and hard to chew. I ordered the special pho #1 bowl And the meatball elements of the meat it consisted of were extremely tough and chewy and just seem like someone maybe took them out of the refrigerator. The brisket was also not that tender or easy to chew. I had lots of pieces of meat that I had to ball up into a napkin to discard because it was too tough to chew in this bowl of pho. My wife ordered the bonmy sandwich and it was lacking in terms of content. It was a big sandwich in terms of the size of the bread and it didn't have a whole lot of filling inside of it in terms of meat or anything else. The veggie egg rolls we got were pretty good but I was blown away by how the parts of the meat in the pho were very chewy and inedible. read more

I'm a soup lover. I normally have Saigon Pho for lunch in the Diablo area. Being a local here in Vacaville I decided to try Pho at the this location and they did not disappoint... its was heavenly . I always have steak but there is a variety to choose from. the waiter was so patient and friendly. She explained the cuts including fat percentage...I was enlightened by her knowledge because I had no clue. Now I know exactly what my preference is and I ordered the brisket. Pho is one of the most refreshing soups. I love the fresh herbs served on the side so you can add to your liking. I go heavy on bean sprouts, Thai basil, and jalapeños. I ordered takeout but I'm going back to dine in. I enjoy Pho served popping hot in the bowl. Kudos to the waiter for the tip on reheating my Pho at home. I'll be back soon for sure! read more

Located on Elmira Rd, I've drove past this place lots of times before. There's a decent sized parking lot. We ordered the fried shrimp rolls and P1 (Combo) pho. The food was okay. The broth was a little bland to me so I added in lots of hot sauce and hoisin sauce. There also wasn't a lot of meats in the soup compared to other pho places I've been to. We also ordered banh mi to go. I ordered the cha lua (pork sausage) banh mi, the veggie to meat ratio was pretty adequate. However they use American mayo and not the Vietnamese buttery mayo. The flavor was a little off putting to me. Also, the cha lua texture and taste was like it was frozen and not fresh. When we came in it wasn't as busy, but when we were about to finish our meal more people poured in. I felt pretty rushed when the servers came to place the bill on our table, kind of like saying for us to leave now. read more
