There are so many good options here even if youre vegetarian. The apps that are great: truffle salmon sashimi, yellowtail, yuzu salad with parm basket, the tuna pizza, Tuna crispy rice! Its probably the only decent sushi spot on the jersey shore. We come regularly here.

According to Yumi, this is a fully booked restaurant

Walk in on a Monday at about 715 ask for a table for two they said that they were fully booked. The restaurant was empty. They offered to let us sit at a bar that doubles as a storage room. We agreed and sat there and order the exceptionally expensive food, which is decent but expensive. The pictures I took right before we left so as we were all crammed into the coat closet front area we got to view the entire empty restaurant. Sorry, but I'm not going back.

Freshest sashimi and sushi. Huge menu. Dined here twice and enjoyed immensely. Service efficient and friendly.

Higher end sushi spot with a nice ambiance for groups. Food here is of the utmost quality - definitely the best sushi in the area. Gorgeous presentation. Great location too. Get the tuna pizza & sea bright roll, thank me later.

We went here last night for Easter dinner and the service and food are exceptional. The music is awesome and makes the ambiance even more aesthetic. The sushi is incredible and they are chef inventors and never disappoint. They have a sauce that it would be awesome if the bottles and sold it or for the first time we wished for bread in a sushi restaurant. A must for a foodie and both Sea Bright and Red Bank are great.

This is one of our favorite places for fresh delicious sushi selection! It's byob. We are never let down by the service and food & quality. We have a few things that are our favorite. The mushroom salad is so so good if you like mushrooms. The Wagyu carpaccio is out of this world and sooooo tasty. The Sesame toro is same AMAZING. The famous rice crispy roll is hands down delish and worth trying! The salmon, eel, uni, toro, and tuna sashimi are ALWAYS fresh and amazing. The tuna pizza is my favorite as well for an app although it's on the heavier side so it's suitable to share. The sea bright roll & the lobster one is our favorite as well. The mochi and banana dessert is so good. One of our favorite sushi spots in NJ! During the summer it's the best because of the beach is across the street and summer vibes Everywhere!

This is one of my favorite spots for sushi and I don't say that lightly. The appetizers are always a hit and I look forward to coming here for every special occasion. The notable apps are the garlic salmon sashimi, sushi pizza, and the fluke. But really everything is so good and the service is great because the place is small. Can't wait to come back!

The ingredients are fresh and some of the rolls are created with a unique combination of ingredients. I like that the names of some of the rolls play homage to the local area (Sea Bright, Sandy Hook, Ocean Ave and Rumson Roll). The seaweed salad was good with a generous serving; enough to easily feed 2. The prices on some of the items are a little higher than I've seen for their equivalents at other restaurants. But, Yumi does offer the option to eat sushi on the shore in Sea Bright. We did take-out, but Yumi does offer the BYOB option for those dining in.

We had takeout from Yumi and I wasn't particularly impressed. The food was good, but not great. Is it good enough for a 4? Eh, I don't think so. The soft shell crab in my Mame spider roll was disappointing, overly breaded and fried to a crisp so you didn't get much crab flavor and more oily thick breading taste. The rice was a bit dense too. The Shuen roll was pretty decent. The tuna sashimi pizza has a generous portion of tuna tartare and good flavor combination. The Avo ebi cone was a little unusual, not for my palate (I found it overly citrusy) but my friend thought it was interesting and enjoyed it. The Pan grilled duck breast had a layer of some hard to chew fat but otherwise was decent- not particularly noteworthy. The salmon cucumber roll was also fine. Overall- this wasn't a bad meal- but it wasn't a great meal, and for the prices, taste and value I wouldn't recommend it.

Sushi was good but expensive for what you get. Sushi plate is 5 small pieces sushi and a roll for $30. Overall it was "meh" in my opinion.

The food is great but pricy. I ordered a six piece roll and it was $18.00. They do have some unique rolls but you really pay the price

I saw some mixed reviews for Teak before we went, and after reading through quite a few of them, my…read morebest guess was that most of the complaints were tied to a nightclub-type vibe on a possible rooftop bar rather than the restaurant itself. We showed up hoping to snag bar seats, but it was busy and honestly a little warm for my liking. I know, I know, after the winter we've had, I have absolutely no right to complain. Either way, we ended up in an outside room with all the windows open to the patio and it was genuinely perfect. Our server Julie was fantastic. Attentive in all the right ways, including the kind of attentive where she noticed us glancing around and came over to check on us. We weren't actually looking for anything; we were just scoping out the space. Still, I appreciated the hustle. My partner ordered a gin martini, extra dirty; I went with a prosecco. Both came out cold and fast. We ordered edamame, lotus buns, the pear and crispy goat cheese salad, and the aburi roll. The edamame were solid. Nice pop of lime, though I could have used a heavier hand with the salt. The lotus buns were a revelation. Two pillowy bao buns, each stuffed with a generous slab of slow roasted pork belly glazed in hoisin, with a pickled cucumber tucked in alongside it. I'd never had anything quite like them, and the balance was what got me: the brine and snap of the pickle cutting right through the sweetness of that glaze. Really well thought out. The aburi roll was tasty; nothing jumped out as the star moment, but everything played nicely together and it went down easy. And then there was the salad. Oh, the salad. I could eat that salad every single day of the week. Crispy fried goat cheese medallions on a salad is basically a guaranteed order for me, so that's what reeled me in initially. But once I actually started eating it, I forgot all about the goat cheese. Mixed greens, thin pear slices, halved grapes, spiced pecan halves, all dressed in a honey mustard vinaigrette that was genuinely outstanding. I've already started thinking about how to recreate it at home, which is the highest compliment I can give a salad. Teak delivered across the board. Don't let the rooftop reviews scare you off from the restaurant itself.

THE FOOD * Chef's Sashimi Bowl: Bright and tasty with slices of tuna, yellowtail, and salmon. It came professionally plated with vegetable garnishes and a few dried sweet potato and garlic chips for texture. * Oysters & Caviar: The ice-cold oysters topped with black caviar were incredibly fresh. The yuzu/ponzu sauce and sliced green onions added great flavor. Served at the perfect temperature. * Kale Caesar Salad: The surprise here was the spicy breadcrumbs, which made the dish when their spice and crunch came in alongside the creamy dressing and kale. * Tip: I would order the dressing on the side next time, and avoid pairing this with the French Onion Soup Dumplings (too many creamy/heavy components for one meal). * French Onion Dumplings: An okay dish with nice gooey cheese, but a fairly flat overall flavor profile. * Roasted Salmon: Served with a tasty, crisp crust, but it was a bit dry on the inside. It came with nice stir-fried vegetables and slightly underdone coconut rice. THE WINE * A nice selection of wines by the glass. We tried a spread of Cabernet Sauvignon, Bordeaux, and Pinot Noir. THE SERVICE & ATMOSPHERE * Special thanks to Rigo (the sushi chef). He served up amazing sashimi and clearly draws on his 20+ years of experience at TEAK. He was incredibly personable, clearly enjoys his craft, and his presentation was excellent! * Thank you to Olivia, a new bartender upstairs, for her attentive and professional service! Wishing you the best in picking up those great line dance routines. IMPORTANT LOGISTICS Ordering: Note that you must order all your dishes at one time. OVERALL A memorable Asian fusion restaurant with an extensive upstairs dance floor and a bar on each level. Great for a casual date night or a lively evening out on the town.

This place consistently knocks it out of the park with service, food, and atmosphere. Ryan behind the bar is a standout. He treats us like regulars from day one--always greeting us with a smile and delivering truly top-tier service. He's a big part of what makes the whole experience feel so warm and welcoming. If you're…read morea foodie, there is better, but for NJ cuisine, it's standard for "high end" What was disappointing to me was: the fact that I was there enjoying a nice steak dinner with colleagues, and I was saving half of my steak for my husband to take home. It had a side of roasted elephant garlic, which my husband absolutely loves, so I couldn't NOT save it for him.But the thing is, they took it away without asking me if I wanted to pack it or not. And I brought this up, not once, not twice but -- 3 times-- with the wait staff. When I asked one of the waiters what the manager said, He replied " I'm not going to lie, I don't remember" Before I left, I asked my server if I could speak to the manager-- The manager finally met with me. He said that he was "trying to find you to give you my card" because "he did hear about the incident and he feels really bad." Mind you, even after I spoke to the first person about this incident, we were there for close to another 30 minutes (at least). Sitting at our table, having dessert and drinks . No one came back to address the situation, no one offered to make another plate of food for my husband to make up for the food they accidentally threw away. He offered his card, but I declined because I will not be going back. Honestly, poor service and optics for a high-end restaurant, at best. If you're used to high-end haute cuisine and have an eclectic palette, I'd skip this restaurant. If you want "the usual" nice-enough restaurant with good with a decent-enough ambience-- this is a good-enough place. For me, a place like that-- with "standard fare" cuisine, should have above average service. That's where they fell short.
