4.5/5 Decided to give this place a shot after seeing it was open during a grocery run. A few words to summarize this place....fresh, bright, and crispy. I'll admit, upon walking in I didn't get my hopes up too high as it felt and looked like another place trying to cash in on the Hot Chicken craze. The menu, although diverse, seemed kind of boring at the same time. The heat levels are just original, mild, spicy, and hot. If youre looking for the rip your B hole spice, you wont find it here, but the hot level is decent enough for me without having to consider my life choices. My wife thought the spicy option was plenty hot, but not unbearable. When the food came out, it all looked great. You know how at some of these places the food just looks kind of slopped together? Not here. Starting off with the chicken sandwich: The chicken was incredibly crispy, not dry but not juicy either. I'm pretty sure this is frozen commercial bought. The pieces of chicken were exactly the same shape. But with that being said this is one of the best hot chicken sandwiches I've had in a long time. The bread was toasted, the chicken was actually crispy, the coleslaw was fresh and actually had crisp and bite (no soggy wet slaw) The fries, again, probably commercially bought. Strangely uniform also in size and shape, but fantastic none the less. Very crispy outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The wings were deep fried to perfection. "Nashville" just means dry rubbed, but very crispy, not overfried. The best part...not over-priced (6 for $7) My only complaints: They don't have honey (a usual offering at hot chicken joints) And I wish the chicken was a bit bigger to fill the buns (thats what she said) Drinks are not fountain so you might have to ration if the spice is high for you. I was the only person there around 5pm. No one else came in while I was waiting on my order. It seemed as if the gentleman who took my order was the only one there. After taking my order he went in the back and didn't come back out until my order was ready. I took it to go. It was made fresh. The chicken was moist and flavorful as were the fries .There was more bun than chicken though. Still it was very tasty. The fries were also good. The wings were a bit overcooked and on the dry side. We came to Yummy Hot Chicken for the first time, not knowing what to order. We ended up getting the Sliders. It comes with 2 full sandwiches and fries. It was delicious! Plenty of food for 2 people. I love hot chicken and this place didn't disappoint even with it being new. I walked in and was greeted by a very friendly lady, which is always a plus. I ordered the number one, which is a slider and fries, and the chicken was cooked perfectly, the sauce, pickles and bun all blended together perfectly to make up a perfect sandwich. The fries were also very good. They were crispy, but light on the inside and their sauce was good with the fries as well. If you can handle spice i 100% recommend the spicy flavor. The only recommendation I would have for the restaurant is maybe an option to have a spice level sprinkled over the fries but other than that the meal was a 10 /10. read more

The chicken sandwiches and fries were 10 out of 10 (perfectly seasoned, spiced, crunchy and with fresh coleslaw) The smash burger was 8 out 10 (my kids shared and loved it, i do want to preface that we got them a plain burger so this could be much higher if it had all of the original ingredients) The chocolate shake was 8 out of 10 (not overly sweet which was great for me but people who like a richer milk shake might not be a fan. The owner was such a lovely person, she sat down and talked to our family and really made an effort to make sure we enjoyed our food. You can tell she takes a ton of pride in her business as her business was very clean inside. All of the tables were wiped down and condiments were fully stacked for the next set of customers ready to walk through the door. I really hope they stay open because the food is amazing and they just need some help from the community to try their business. We are big fans and will be back soon! read more

My wife and I have been on a hot chicken sandwich kick ever since our daughter moved practically next door to Hotboys in Sacramento a few years ago. (Full disclaimer, we've never lived in the South, so can't speak to "authenticity".) We were very excited to see a real hot chicken place in this area. Popeyes is actually pretty good, for what they are. But there's nothing really good out this way... until now. They are not on the same level as Hotboys (which we like better even than Hattie B's in Nashville), or even Nash and Proper. But their sauce and quality of ingredients are significantly better than Dave's, which to my tastebuds have an "artificial spicy" vibe. The slaw is top quality and adds nicely to the overall flavor profile of these sandwiches. My only gripe is that the chicken pieces are small (about 1/3 of the bun has no chicken), and the chicken is a bit on the dry side. My wife thinks that pounding the chicken thinner to make it wider, and quick frying would solve both those problems. I wouldn't mind more of that yummy coleslaw either. But for the price they're charging ($18 for 2 sandwiches and a nice portion of coated fries), it's an outstanding deal! If they would charge a few dollars more and put larger, juicier chicken and coleslaw in their sandwiches, it'd be easy to give them 5 stars. As it is, we'll definitely be back, and you should too. read more

The restaurant is new, it's clean, the woman who helped me was so sweet, she was heavily pregnant and you could tell she was very grateful for the patronage, service and atmosphere is five stars. However I am not reviewing on those things today, I decided to give them three stars because the food Was very mediocre, at best. That chicken batter was very thin, there was even pieces of the chicken strip where there was no batter at all, the seasoning was just spicy. I really couldn't taste any other seasonings besides hot. I paid $20 for Three chicken strips, perhaps the equivalent of a very large chicken breast? It's kind of wild to think that one chicken strip ended up being like $6.75, no way is it even remotely close to being worth it. Maybe for half that price I would go back if I was heavily craving spicy, barely breaded, chicken breast strips. When I think of crispy fried chicken, I want a thick batter where I get a big crunch with every bite, not the case here. They do make food to order, and you can tell they probably cut and batter the chicken themselves? They definitely need a thicker batter, otherwise it's just seasoned chicken fried, big difference. read more

Every single time I come here me and my family are always greeted by the kind woman at the front. She is always very nice to us and sometimes even gives us free soda. Honestly that burger quality is good. The sauce is their own variant of thousand island and it's not as bold but it's flavorful. I tried the yummy morning smash it's pretty good, egg was made good nicely poached, the smash on the meat is a bit to thin so u do get a bit of cursting in the edges but none the less still good. Pickled and onions tasted good. It's just a small portion and the price is high for what you get. The fries are made well done and salted good and crisp, but I did not receive a lot of the fries. Finally with my order I had a milkshake and I wasn't gonna write a review because the food honestly tasted good even though it was to expensive but for chocolate milk blended with ice cubes, charging 5$ for that is absurd.
