How have I lived in the area all my life and never tried Nubbins? I've been missing out. The burgers and fries were amazing, and I was blown away at the great service! The staff was so nice and helpful, and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. It's walk up, but they have some covered seating where you can eat if you don't want to take it to go. They're open late, and we were there around 10pm. There was a consistent line but things moved super quick, and the staff was as attentive as they were speedy. It's definitely old school burger joint vibes, so don't expect anything fancy...but do expect delicious food and a great experience. I drove by this place the other day and knew I had to try it once I saw their mural that read #1 since 1955! I ordered the bacon cheeseburger basket which means your burger comes with fries. You know I'm a crispy french fry girl and these fries were salted and crisped to perfection. Move over McDs. We thought from the pics online, we were just getting a small amount of fries, so we ordered a side of onion rings too. However, they don't skip on portions here. Came into Roseville for the fireworks show on the 4th, saw this little old school type drive up burger place and we decided to give it a go! When we pulled up, turns out they had closed 30 mins prior, however they waived us to come up and told us yeah technically they closed but still had everything going and said they would serve us! We were so grateful!! Who does that now days?? Most employees cannot wait to clock off! May have been the owner there, not sure but we were happy. Now for the burgers we ordered, they were awesome!! Love this place. Whenever I eat here the manager who is a French guy always takes care of my drink and is very considerate of the customers. Not to mention the food, its price to flavor ratio is quite amazing, for only 10 dollars you get a bacon burger with fry's. And the milkshakes are expertly made with love and care. We've passed by this spot countless times, but with the big "Under New Management" sign and summer in full swing, we finally decided to give it a try--and we're so glad we did! It's always great to support local businesses, especially when they make you feel this welcome. From the start, the service stood out. Gianna helped us out and was incredibly friendly and attentive. The place has a nostalgic charm to it--think old-school diner vibes with a local touch. We ordered a cheeseburger with everything, a plain cheeseburger, crinkle-cut fries, onion rings, and a vanilla milkshake. The shake machine had a hiccup after we ordered, but Gianna didn't miss a beat--she gave us a free drink to make up for the delay. Then, just as we were loading up our takeout into the car, she came out with the original shake after fixing the machine. Now that's customer service! As for the food: The milkshakes were excellent--definitely a highlight. Crinkle fries were a personal favorite. Onion rings had great flavor, though mine were cooked a bit too long. The burgers were solid and satisfying--I'd say they're on par with Five Guys, which is a pretty great comparison! All in all, this was a great first visit and we'll definitely be back. Best burgers in town! When you crave an old-fashioned burger stand taste and vibe, you can't go wrong here. We went late last night and grabbed some double cheeseburgers, fries, fried burritos, and soft serve. Everyone raved about how delicious it was, especially the burgers, but everything was awesome! The burgers are big, juicy, and taste fantastic, I highly recommend. However, apparently we got lucky, because they had to close early because they ran out of meat! (They were very busy.) Looking for a spot to eat and stumbled on this place. There is a sign that says under new management. You go up to the window and order. You can either wait in your car or they have a little seating area to eat your food. They call out your name to go pick up your food at the window. Everyone was so nice and even apologized for the wait which was not even that long to us. The food was good, could use a little bit more seasoning but still good. Good portions for the price. Hadn't been to Nubbin's in a several years. Driving past it recently, my wife mentioned it changed owner's again and it was supposed to be good. On our way back I decided to stop by. I ordered their Double Bacon Cheeseburger Basket with Fries and a Diet Dr. Pepper. My wife wanted a Soft Serve but the machine was out, so instead she opted for a Chocolate Malt Shake. Food and drinks came out pretty quickly and everything was so delicious! We ate at their outdoor patio. Tables needed some cleaning from sticky leftover foods and drink, otherwise the surrounding area was still pretty clean. It was a pretty hot day, in the 90's. Can be a bit stifling in that area when there is very little breeze. Other option is you can always eat in your car. I'm happy Nubbin's has stuck around despite the changes and tall buildings being built around it. Nubbin's is a Downtown Roseville institution and I hope it stays around for many more years to come! read more

So you want me to be honest, I went here about eight years ago when it was a different owner and I was not happy with the food I got. but this time was completely different, the burger was a fireball juicy, and all around good. They've also repainted the outside, which looks really good. And the service there was very good as well. I got a bacon cheeseburger with extra cheese and it was very good. Also, they have good milkshakes as well. I got one with fruit and it actually came with fresh fruit blended in with it. After several months of anticipation, I was finally able to bring my family to Nubbins. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we had hoped for. We arrived at 8:00 p.m., and I began placing our order at approximately 8:02 p.m. At the time, the "Open" sign was still illuminated, and the staff member at the front greeted us with, "Hi, how can I take your order?"--which gave no indication that the restaurant was closed or closing. However, shortly after I began ordering, another staff member, who appeared to be working in the kitchen, abruptly shouted, "Stop ordering! We close at 8:00. I'm very overwhelmed, so stop ordering." He then proceeded to slam the sign to switch it from "Open" to "Closed." The interaction was both unprofessional and deeply disappointing. While I understand the pressures of food service, this level of hostility toward customers--especially when we were unaware of the exact closing time--is unacceptable. A courteous explanation would have gone a long way. Sadly, I cannot recommend Nubbins based on this experience. Respectful and clear communication is the foundation of good service, and that was completely lacking during our visit. read more

We stopped in and tried the Bacon Cheeseburger Basket and the regular Cheeseburger Basket, and I also treated myself to a mocha milkshake. Everything was spot-on! The burgers were packed with flavor, the fries were perfectly golden and crispy as were the onion rings, and the mocha milkshake was rich and delicious. It was a pleasant surprise to see the owner, we used to visit their café on Douglas for lunch because their sandwiches were always great quality and incredibly priced. We love Nubbins! If you ever go there you must know parking is scarce. I parked in a handicap parking real quick to order and once someone were to leave I would've moved. I heard Nubbin's was a must try in Roseville and after looking at the reviews and seeing a positive change with new ownership it seemed like a good time to try it! I got the double cheeseburger basket with seasoned fries and double bacon cheeseburger. I tried to get a slushie but it was down no worries it happens. The employee that helped with the order was very friendly and definitely top tier customer service! Later on I found out he's the owner after overhearing a conversation from another customer. That other customer was an older gentleman that said he's been a customer here since grade school! Crazy how long Nubbins has been around. I also overheard the recipes haven't changed since change of ownership! As for the food, it was overall good! The fries are crinkle cut which is one of my least favorite fry shapes but I actually enjoyed these ones and it was my favorite part of the meal over the burger! Crunchy, but still fluffy inside and well seasoned. The only other chain that I can think of on the top of my head that serves crinkle fries are shake shack and raising canes and these fries are better. The burger was good too, very classic style of burger. Similar to five guys or elixir but more affordable. There's no star of the show with any stand out ingredient but it holds its own. I like how the lettuce is all chopped up instead of it being a whole piece. My only complaint is I wish the buns were toasted and warm but I feel if I had known and just asked they would've done that for me! Will go again to support a local business! read more
