Not sure if im liking the new changes. Before you used to see them scoop everything into your bowl. And you could ask for a little extra of stuff since you could see it. Now they have these weird covers that block you from seeing anything. So you really dont know what's going on behind that cover. Also now they charge you for the seaweed salad...it used to be free for the first scoop. So that lame. Also, ive been to this place probably about 10 times total and have yet to try their musubi...they never have it... Maybe its time to find some new spot. read more

Really disappointed. Got a regular bowl and added shrimp on the side. $30.14 with tip is crazy expensive for a poke bowl and on top of that the fish was warm and slimy. My husband and I were in the area and decided to try this place, as we love Poke. My first clue should have been that even though it was dinner time and the shopping mall was very full, the restaurant was empty except for 1 person ahead of us. That customer tried to order the chicken bowl and I was surprised to hear "oh, we are out of chicken". Then it was my turn...I asked for pineapple, "oh, we just ran out". OK, can I order musubi? "OH, we are out of that too". Finally got my bowls ordered and asked for 2 soda cups. "OH, our soda machine is down, but it can still dispense water. Or we have what's in this cooler." The cooler had 3 bottles of water, a bunch of lemon and berry sparkling water and 2 glass bottles of coke. How can a restaurant be out of that many products? My husband and I sat down to eat and both of us realized that the fish was not the freshest. It's pretty sad that we were joking that in 6 hours, we will know if the fish was fresh enough. After we sat down, no one else came in. Also, the staff did not come out from the back at all to check if anyone was at the counter, which tells me that they are used to not having that many customers. Pro-convenient location Pro- good portion Now the reasons they only get 3 stars: Con- smelled a little off when I walked in. Con- 3 employees vs no customers and non-of them really knew what they were doing. Probably an average age of 16-17. The one that appeared to be in charge was unfriendly. Con- some of my favorite basic ingredients we $1.50 extra each. Seaweed salad, kimchi, and even masago. I usually have no desire or appetite for poke, but when I saw Yummy Poke's fresh seafood offerings,I added the restaurant to my Must Try list a week or two ago. I finally tried it today. Pretty good! I ordered a large 4 scoop bowl with ahi, salmon, spicy scallops, and squid salad. I ordered half brown rice and half mixed greens. You could also choose white rice. You can then pick any number of sauces and toppings to your heart's content. Apparently, it tastes fine choosing all the sauces! House, Sweet Unagi, Sriracha Aioli, Wasabi Cream, Ponzu, Sesame Shoyu, and Tamari. The first 3 listed sauces are the most popular. I actually chose the 3 sauces that follow. For the toppings, I was told Avocado, Masago, and Seaweed Salad incur an extra charge. I would have ordered musubi, but I didn't want to wait 20 minutes or hold up the line. Restaurant looks popular enough. Customers were already there and new customers entered during my last 2 visits. Ahi appeared to be the bestseller today. The server also said salmon, spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and shrimp are popular. I usually gravitate towards Hamachi or yellowtail, but all the reddish and orangish meats looked more appetizing: salmon, spicy salmon, spicy scallops, ahi, squid salad, shrimp. Other protein choices include spicy tuna, regular scallops, tofu, crab salad, and octopus. I saw my server change gloves between customers. The restaurant's website's Menu page isn't up to date, but the online ordering prices are. The interesting thing I learned from the website menu page is that there is a nearly 4% service charge for paying by credit card, so it is encouraged to pay by cash. $12.75 for a Regular Bowl (3 scoops of protein) $14.75 for a Large Bowl (4 scoops of protein; $15.34 if you use a credit card) Good, quick meal for hot summer days! read more

I agree with the other reviews about the lack of quality and cut of the fish. The salmon saved the meal, but the tuna and albacore were not great (had to spit out some and dig them out to avoid eating them.) The staff here absolutely terrible. I came in today on my lunch for the first time after working with patients all day and the little blonde hair girl that assisted me was so rude it was appalling. She rushed me , mind you I'm the ONLY person in this establishment , she had a clipped tone, and she kept saying that's an extra charge over and over after I said , it's okay if there's an extra charge , thank you for letting me know - but I'm sure everything I want is going to be extra. Just tally it up for me at the end - with a smile and she just stared at me. Whatever , moving on , I go to pay for my meal and as I'm getting my Apple Pay ready, Face ID wasn't cooperating, she proceeds to tap her foot and sigh as if I'm wasting her time. I pay and she walks away. I say "excuse me" because there were no forks up front and she blatantly ignored me. I had to yell for her 5 TIMES. Needless to say , I won't be back and that's probably the reason NO ONE comes in considering this place is in a high traffic area with a movie theatre next door, gym, dollar tree, and grocery store. This little local spot is the best place in the Rocklin/Roseville area to get poke in my opinion. They are nicely priced, the fish always appears to be fresh and the facility itself is clean. When I walk into any place that's selling raw fish and it doesn't smell like fish, that's a win for me, that tells me two things. 1. The fish is fresh and hasn't been sitting out. 2. They are on top of their cleaning system. If you're going in to dine-in I wouldn't expect anything spectacular. As a matter of fact they have limited seating because it appears that most people take it to go. Nevertheless the quality is still there. One of the only things that I will say negatively about this location has nothing to do with the location itself actually. They have so much great business that you have to make sure you get there early, or your fish of choice (salmon and shrimp in my case) may likely be out. Hands down lowest quality poke bowl I've had in my life. Rice was stale and chewy, the fish was borderline slimy, and the sauce did not add much flavor at all. My first bite of pineapple actually hurt because of how overly fermented and bad it was. I tried to call to let them know, but no one picked up and the voicemail is full. I've gone here for years and this has always been my favorite poke spot. I usually do a tofu bowl with a lot of different toppings and sauces. I like that there is no limit for the amount of toppings and sauces you can put on your bowl! The staff is usually friendly and the store has always been clean when I visited. Coming from socal poke places are a dime a dozen. Competition is pretty stiff so quality is of utmost importance. Not only does it have to be of high quality, but of great value too. I was craving some raw fish without the huge price tag and this was the closet poke spot close to home so the wife and I stopped by. There's a special place in my heart for spam musubi so my wife and I both got one. Although on the expensive side (I think it was $3.50) compared to other places, it was ok. Not too salty and the sauce was good. They are pretty thin however. I personally wished there was just a little bit more rice. We each got a regular bowl and our server hooked it up pretty fat. We each got about 2 extra scoops of protein which was kind of nice. He seemed to be doing that with everyone there. He gave the girls in front of us like 5 extra scoops no joke. We also didn't get charged all of the extras which my wife is notorious for as she's never the one that pays the bill. I wish I knew there weren't going to be any extra charges otherwise I would have gotten some too. That being said, it was pretty bland. The rice was not vinegared, which is a big minus for me. In addition, even though it seemed like he went heavy on the sauce, I didn't taste much of anything. When we got home the wife an I both added sesame oil, sriracha, and furikake to make it more satisfying and tasty. Overall, the value made this place ok for me...but who knows. Everything was amazing the last time i had went there. As I got my bowl, and headed to my car, I ate it and the spicy salmon meat was not good. It was not sliced well. It looked almost as if someone just barely cut the meat, and it also appeared stringy. I don't know how it is now, but that was my experience. I love Poke places... you just won't see me in a cacti garden getting up close & personal.. *tee hee hee* I had seen Yummy Poke opening up for so long and always wanted to try it.. finally, after being open since January, my daughter wanted Subway, and I wanted me some Poke!! Walking in, it was super spacious, dainty tables & chairs all around except for your path to order your bowl. The menu is simple: 1. Pick your base- Rice(white or brown) Mixed greens(salad) 2. Pick your protein. Salmon, Tuna, Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon Albacore, Octopus. 3. Choose your Sauce- Ponzu, Sweet Unagi, Sesame Shoyu, Sriracha Aioli, Wasabi Cream. 4. Choose your Toppings- White Onion, Cucumber, Corn, Jalapeno, Edamame, Ginger and Carrot. 5. Choose your Spice- Furikake, Crispy Onion, Dry Seaweed, Roasted Sesame Seed. The young man behind the counter let me sample the spicy tuna and spicy salmon... I did not like how mushy it was compared to the regular cubed fish. I also suggest sampling the sauces before you pick your protein if your not sure which one to go with. For my creation, I had hot cooked white rice, with salmon & tuna tossed in the Sesame Shoyu sauce, with imitation crab, onion, cucumber, edamame, and ginger topped with onion, Tobiko, and Furikake.. My take? First, the bamboo chopsticks had an odd smell to them, every bite I took, I smelled the chopsticks, so I switched to a tiny plastic fork. After that, it was delicious! I do wish the Sesame Shoyu sauce was a touch thicker. I felt like it ran right off the fish and was not very apparent(I went up & got more sauce.) The cubed salmon & tuna tasted very fresh and for a regular size bowl, it comes with 3 generous scoops of your choice of protein (and that's what we like to see!!!!) Only bad thing to say is the gnat problem.. they definitely made their presence known. As you can see my Yummy Poke bowl was gorgeous! Came in to get a bowl before a movie tonight with my teenager. It was empty which at first I was excited about because we wanted quick, but now I realize why it was empty. The girl working tonight was annoyed we came in and especially annoyed at my teenager who asked what albacore was, the girl working simply said "Al-bah-core!" I said, "is it white tuna? I think that's what she's asking when she asked what it was." Besides a terrible attitude the scoops were super small. The other Yelp reviews said it was "generous" either we have different definitions of generous, or she just liked you way more than me and my teenager. The vegetables looked limp and old, they were out of avocado, seaweed salad, and I honestly couldn't get out of there quick enough. The place seemed clean enough but there was a smell and the "charming hole in the wall" wasn't it. Once opening my bowl I realized how little you receive for $15, I got a regular: white rice, salmon, shrimp and crab, edamame and masago (literally every other vegetable looked likes it's been sitting out for a week). And no avo or seaweed salad. The smell hit me first, fishy. I immediately got concerned but the rice was so hot I thought maybe it made the salmon cook a little? At least that's what I told myself when I tried it. Chewy. At some points my bowl was-- gritty?! Like where was the sand coming from? I couldn't finish it. It was gross. And three hours later my stomach is upset and I wish I would have just walked out while the girl emphatically drawled "Al-buh-corrrrre" to my teen. He touched everything including the cash register before and after handling the food. There is schmutz everywhere behind the counter. Both my wife and daughter got upset stomach and diarrhea last week after eating here. This place is gonna make someone really sick if they do not employ food safety protocols. I was cravin' some Poke and this was the closest one to me at the moment. It is located near the Blue Oaks theater. Parking here is almost always terrible but for lunch this day was not too bad. The girl that helped me was the most unethusiastic person I had ever seen. Selection didn't seem as good as other places. There was no red onion and everything was an extra dollar that I usually find free.... the Tofu, seaweed salad. Nothing was really marked what they were for the newbie. Now the weirdest thing.... I paid with a credit card on those newer white screen that you sign on. She turned it so I could sign it and then walked away and went to the back. No thank you for coming in or have the deceny for me to leave the counter before you abruptly leave. Prices were a little high but the fish was fresh and tasty. Went inside and - not a single person there, just two employees who immediately asked if I was picking up an order. All that sucks, but it's not a dealbreaker for me. What pushes this experience into 1-star territory was that they didn't even put any rice into my two poke bowls. What. The. Eff. I thought maybe I missed an option when placing the order, so I went back to look - nope, the description says the bowl is served over rice or greens, but there's no option to pick which so I guess they figured I didn't want either. Poke is not my go to, but order from here cause my wife likes the place. We ordered through doordash for delivery and I got the teriyaki bowl. Doordash's app fails to let people select ingredients for the chicken teriyaki bowl like it does for the poke bowl and so my chicken teriyaki bowl was just rice and chicken, not like the pic on doordash. So dissappointed especially since doordash charged $14 and change, not to include service fees. I could've made better at home tbh. We've brought this up with doordash and hopefully the owners can work things out with them to let customer's pick ingredients for the chicken teriyaki bowl. We use doordash cause their current delivery service doesn't deliver to our area. read more
