Came here with friend And it was an ok place. I should began saying the chips they serve taste stale, has a bit taste of it and it wasn't fresh and the dipping salsa wasn't good as well, taste blend. Then when we ask the waitress if they have a hot sauce any different salsa sauce, she say that was the only salsa sauce they serve. Then when we ordered the beef burrito and shrimp ceviche with tortas it was ok.. the beef burritos the beef was so dry over cook and little chewy as well and the shrimp ceviche was as ok wasn't all that great but the restaurant it has been around for so many years. They had no margarita or cocktail they only had beers and soft drinks. Service was ok wasn't all that great. Just don't know how to put into words. We have gone to this restaurant place for sometime. Unfortunately, we were there yesterday, the quality of the food was extremely poor. The shrimp smelled, had them take it back. Huevos rancheros are my go-to, and this spot did not disappoint! My plate was hearty and delicious, with perfectly cooked eggs, flavorful sauce, and beans that were on point. Normally like this place but recently it's gone a little down hill. I've been several times and have ordered the chicken mole , chicken taquitos and chicken soup and every time the chicken is very very dry and lacks flavor. The chicken in the chicken soup also had little to no flavor. I think they boil the chicken ahead of time and just toss it in whatever chicken dish gets ordered and that's why it doesn't have the flavor of whatever sauce or broth they put it in. The wait staff is hit or miss with the last time my group having to ask rather loudly across the room to get the attention of our waitress for refills of our drinks. I think I'll give this place one more try and if it's the same I will no longer be patronizing this restaurant. read more

This restaurant can be easy to miss from Beverly Blvd, but look out for their signature restaurant sign. My family had been coming here for years but this was my first time. Behind the restaurant there is a parking lot with an entrance but you can also park street side. It was busy inside on a Sunday morning but we got seated quickly and ordered. The food is so yummy! If you're looking for good Mexican food, this spot won't miss. The only thing I wish were better - at the end of the visit we waited awhile to get our check. I noticed another woman waiting at the register for almost 20 minutes as well, while staff kept walking by her. BUT they were busy handling their tables. PROS: Old school mom-and-pop type place. The type of place i love to support. My first time here...came bec of a big thumbs-up recommendation from a relative...decent homestyle comida....chips were the best...really awesome..light crispy not greasy not salty...yum. Fijoles still had whole beans in it, and plenty of cheese on top, decent..the rice was fine, wet with tomato sauce. I ordered takeout, and my order was ready to go when I arrived 20 minutes later as promised. The carnitas tacos a la carte were built with two street-sized corn tortillas,...it had a balance of chopped onions tomatos and generous portion of cubed pork and cilantro... the tortillas were cold and tough though. CONS: Everything was cold as ice when i got it home eight minutes later. Needed to introduce the dinner to my microwave. The carne asada burrito had good flavor but was tough and dry. The chile relleno was in pieces instead of being a single whole pepper...the taste was average; it did have that "oops it fell" apart appearance. Too bad. I'm a chile relleno snob and i always order it at every new Mexican restaurant I try...disappointing relleno. Enchilada was cheese, it was modest in size and not overly filled. Ok. Service at the register was fast and efficient. It might be better to dine in next time, try the food when it's piping hot. By the way, the place is surprisingly larger inside, with two dining areas, good for large parties....if it weren't for the recommendation from my foodie cousin, driving by i'd blink and drive right past... nondescript building with zero curb appeal...but plenty of parking in rear. Ate dinner here a couple of weeks ago. It was our 1st time. When we walked in the rear door from the parking lot i noticed a weird smell. We were seated in the dining area by the bathrooms and strong odor of a sewer was apparent. We didn't want to leave because of the 5 star reviews Needless to say we got use to the smell and the food was delicious. There was also a family of older adults whom were loud and playing music from their cell phone. So inconsiderate! The employees didn't tell them to shut it off. This is my go to place for some great mexicsn food. It's a small place but their food is delicious. My favorite is the green cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. They are sooooo flavorful and they give you a good portion. Their taquitos are also good with their fresh guacamole. Oh my! My order is always ready quickly and packed well. had breakfast with a few friends Sunday morning, first thing I noticed entering the entrance in the parking lot a pile of discarded trash at the strike one soon as I walked in the restaurant I smelled methane gas that comes from a backed up sewer strike two the food was so so portions were small than expected went to the restroom. Toilets were overflown notified management the overflow in the restroom. No one responded. Strike three couldn't take it anymore. We didn't even finish our meals. We left this restaurant must have new management. I was there last year. No problem, I remember now I did smell, methane, gas methane gas could easily blow up that restaurant needs to have inspection with no less than a D or F on the window.
