Stopped in on a Wednesday evening for dinner on the deck with my daughter. We checked out the menu and asked our server, Brandon, what his favorites on the menu are. Side note, Brandon was lovely - very pleasant and made excellent recommendations. We were set on gyoza dumplings so we started with those and then shared 2 rolls, one of which was brought to our attention by the ever-lovely Brandon! Open for only a month, Yuzu Sushi is the newest sushi bar on Fenwick Island. Open from 4-9pm, this place is a little out of the way, but worth a visit. We got the Tuna Tostados: Tuna, Crab, Avocado with Spicy Mayo, Lime and Onions served in homemade Wonton Crisps. Essentially a tuna tartar taco of sorts - very creamy with a crispy crunch. And we got the Sandbar roll: Tuna Jalapenos, pineapple, Avocado in Soy Paper, with Toasted Coconut Wasabi Mayo and Eel Sauce. First time I ever had pineapple and coconut on a sushi roll. ordered delivery from here on doordash and received the completely wrong order that was half the size (we ordered $70 of sushi for 3 ppl) , so we called the restaurant to see if maybe they gave the dasher the wrong order. the manager of the restaurant told us that there was a new employee making the sushi and he only put out half of the sushi in our order in the bag for the dasher to take and he confirmed that the remainder of our order was still sitting on the counter there and wasn't delivered to us. he then rudely said "lucky you, you get another delivery", confirming that he would send another delivery driver to drop off the remainder of our order. 2 minutes later, he called back to ask where we were bc he didn't recognize the address and when we told him we're in Bethany Beach he said "no way, that's too far. you're gonna have to come pick it up yourself." mind you, google said it was an 11 minute drive/5 miles away. we then told him that we don't have a car so we can't pick it up, hence why we ordered delivery. then he said "oh, then i don't know what to tell you." and hung up. we never received the rest of our order that we paid for and the sushi that we did get tasted like literal playdough. will never order from here again especially with the manager's attitude, terrible service and poor quality sushi. read more

Not authentic sushi AT ALL. As a former sushi restaurant employee, this was hands down the most overpriced and WORST "sushi" I've ever eaten over the past 20 years at multiple restaurants. 1. Our order took much longer than expected. NBD because it was a fairly big order. 2. We paid $15 for romaine tops (the worst part of the lettuce) and a few raw carrot chunks, cucumber slices, and about 6 avocado slices. 3. The sushi rice was not seasoned AT ALL. 4. The "miso soup" had ZERO tofu or kombu. It tasted like watered down chicken broth and definitely NOT miso. Could've been a urine sample for all we know. 5. The edamame was way overcooked and had no salt on it. 6. The rolls were unevenly cut and rolled poorly - many fell apart. 7. Fillings were skimpy in the sushi rolls. 8. $25 Fried rice was overcooked and underseasoned on a huge bed of rice that contained what seemed like a previously frozen mixed vegetable mix. Just take all of my money. This place is amazing. I'm so sick of lazy summertime renters leaving crazy reviews because the service is 'slow' or the space is 'small' - it's the beach, Karen. Have a little grace for these people who are swamped during the busiest months and just trying to make an honest living. My favorite dishes were: gyoza (thought they would be basic, but they were amazing), Tuna Tostados (larger /fuller than you usually see), Ceviche (nice medley mixed in with seaweed salad and the sauce was divine), and we thought the cucumber sesame salad was going to be 'basic' but it was not - thinly sliced cucumbers lengthwise in a delicious miso sauce - don't skip out. The White Marlin cocktail (pineapple, tequila, coconut) was very good. A little sweet, so switched to wine afterwards, but it was very tasty amuse bouche. Keep doin what you are doing, Yuzu. 1st time here was surprised that the are BYOB with the understanding they've only been open 2 months and supposedly we get beverage service in the near future. Just a heads up, this place is BYOB even though their website says "serving the regions best sake and full line of craft cocktails". We love trying new places locally and are very patient when it comes to new businesses in the area but you can tell this one needs more staff. Our waitress was super nice but took 15 minutes after dropping waters to get our order. The bar seats next to us got up and no one cleaned the dirty dishes the entire time we sat and ate which was a little over an hour. On a lighter note the sushi was okay, nothing that blew me away, just don't be surprised to wait a little longer for service and food as they seem very short staffed. It was also a little disappointing to not get the same warm welcome from the chef/owner when we walked in because we didn't have a reservation and weren't regulars/friends. read more
