15+ years been loving the best sushi and Japanese food in OC and the Delmarva area. Sushi rice just the right seasoning and moisture. Sushi rice should not be mushy falling apart, dry, too sweet or bland. The owners Kenny and Sonia are the friendliest, kind along with a friendly hardworking staff that aims to please. If you are not into sushi the kitchen entrees are delicious- teriyaki, tempura (authentic batter) and my fave beef negimaki. The bar has lots of liqueur and beer selections. Chip and the bar staff makes excellent drinks and great service. Treat yourself to the real sushi Got Sushi?

2 years later and I have dined in many times. The service is always top notch and the food is fabulous. Generally we mostly come September to June but the summer of 2024 we hosted friends and my Philly residing daughter. All loved OC WASABI. Park in the back and enjoy a nice meal here.

Visited OC Wasabi again during my vacay in Ocean City. And as always... the food was wonderful! I highly recommend making a reservation especially during the summer as they are always very busy especially if you are a larger group. We had made a reservation and our table was ready for us when we arrived. Since we have been here before, we were very familiar with the menu and knew what we wanted. We started with edamame and the teriyaki squid. I had ordered the chicken teriyaki meal and it came with a choice of house salad or miso soup. I chose the salad. My sister and cousins shared a sushi boat with a variety of sashimi. Everything came out very quickly and tasted delicious!! Love the freshness of the sushi! We will be back again!

This place was exactly what I needed in ocean city when it comes to sushi! I'm a spice girl and for apps, we got edamame, spicy mussels and spicy shrimp. The shrimp was butterfly cut and topped with crap and a spicy sauce and was so delicious. The Maryland crab fried rice is a MUST HAVE. All of the sushi rolls we got were fresh and delicious and the presentation on the boat was picture worthy. Such a great experience!

It has been a while since I've been here and I forgot how great and fresh their rolls are! My favorite was the yellowtail and scallion roll. I also recommend the chip roll wish is shrimp tempura topped with tuna and sriracha.

We were looking for a light bite to eat walking distance from our hotel. We were seated quickly. Really nice big menu with a ton of sushi options plus other options including tempura. Our waiter was excellent. The sushi was amazing. So fresh and delicious. The tempura vegetables were delicious and the grilled shrimp were delicious. They have a separate restaurant & bar area with 3, TVs. They have an interesting collection of art on the walls that is for sale. We will definitely comeback. (Sorry, no food pics. I forgot it was so good)

This place was editor's pick but didn't have the best customer reviews - so we gave it a try. This place is small, not the cleanest especially for a sushi restaurant. Our waters were empty, and the servers didn't check on us. It feels more like an Irish pub that is decorated in Japanese decor and serves sushi. I may be a bit bias when it comes to sushi. As someone who has lived in Japan and eaten at many Japanese restaurants with world renowned sushi chefs in big cities, this place was not so great. If you haven't experienced real sushi, this place might be okay since you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The sushi rice was a little overcooked so mushy and lacked sushi rice flavor, the fish did not look the most fresh. There was not much flavor to signature rolls either. The wasabi that was used is not flavorful at all, it tasted like a cheaper version which doesn't have the strong horseradish taste. The pickled ginger also tasted like it was sitting out a bit. The vegetable tempura was good. We didn't get sick so that was a plus but the food and ambience was not great enough for us to come back in the futur

We were told by a friend how good it was so definitely wanted to come. It was worth it. It is a small Place and the employees were super friendly. The service and speed of food coming out was excellent. Everything we had was very good the only Thing is the Maryland roll needed a little more flavor and the banana tempura need Carmel sauce not chocolate. We will definitely one back.

So excited to have found this gem so close to our hotel. The interior is cute and cozy, with special tables where your feet are under the floor. We stopped by as a group of four with no reservations and they quickly made room for us at a table despite being full and busy. There is a sushi bar available as well for smaller parties. My table ordered tempura, sushi and chicken katsu and everything was super fresh and cooked perfectly. Even the miso soup was delicious, and that's usually literally the throwaway of my Japanese takeout. The service was so welcoming and accommodating, I'd love to come back next time I'm in town!

We were set on getting the salmon and the swordfish dishes which we did, and it did not disappoint! They were the most delicious dishes I had experienced in a long time. I asked about the seasoning on the salmon and the waitress, who was fabulous, said it was Moroccan. I loved the hint of cinnamon but according to the Moroccan spice I looked at on the web, it is a combination of numerous spices which amounts to a delicious combination of flavors. Both dishes were paired perfectly with their sides and sauces. I have never left a review about a restaurant before. This will be one of my few unforgettable meals. If dining inside, bring a sweater. They don't skimp on their air-conditioning. It was a cool night so we ate outside which was nice, but what made it nicer was our wonderful waitress, Fanika(?), who had the most awesome, helpful, outgoing personality that makes a dining experience that much better. And she was right about the coconut espresso martini. It was delicious! She also mentioned that the menus are seasonal so I am looking forward to returning to Hooked when I'm back in OC and trying other meals. I'm hooked!!

The ambiance alone makes it worth the visit. I stopped in for a late lunch and went with their Pick 2 lunch combo, pairing the Caesar salad with the cream of tomato soup. The Caesar was excellent: fresh, whole romaine hearts tossed in a nice tangy dressing, topped with flavorful brown bread croutons and a solid chunk of quality cheese. The cream of tomato soup was equally good, carrying over those same rich croutons and cheese to tie the meal together seamlessly. Make a reservation... especially if you want to come on a Friday or Saturday night, but really, just make one no matter the occasion or time. They get really busy here and for good reason. On an island without many good food options, this place stands out. Nice atmosphere, plenty of options on the lunch or dinner menus, good portions, quality food and nice cocktails too. At this point, we've tried lunch, dinner, bringing the dog, no dog, burgers, tacos, their classic wings, shrimp with crab imperial, crab cakes and several cocktails and mocktails. Service was excellent during both of our visits and I really felt like they cared. The waitress, the one who brought our cocktails, the one who brought our food... everyone just gave off that vibe and had a passion for making customers happy. I particularly liked the "New Fashioned" cocktail, which was like an Old Fashioned with some Grand Marnier. Really tasty. My shrimp crown imperial was okay, but those shrimp on top of the tasty crab really needed some more char. They're supposed to be grilled shrimp, but tasted more like steamed. Overall though, awesome place to eat in a town that has few good options. After two visits and trying this much of the menu, Longboard has definitely earned a spot in our Ocean City rotation.

I started with two soups - jerk chicken and rice soup and the cream of crab. The chicken was good and had long rice with plenty of spices but the soup came out very lukewarm. Granted I don't need it piping but it was somewhat concerning. Also - the chicken was a tenderloin rather than shredded or chopped which was kind of hard to negotiate with a spoon. The cream of crab continues to cement its place as the top 2 cream of crab soups in and around OC. I went with the longboard burger as my meal - served with pasta salad. Really like the pasta salad as a side being different. The burger was pretty skimpy on the special sauce that came with it, but I asked for a side of bleu cheese which was good. The bartender who served us was a younger guy with a beard and longer hair - very friendly and attentive to everyone. Again - nice chill vibe here - cool little built-in market area and a cool design.

His behavior was shockingly rude, hostile, and completely unacceptable for anyone in the hospitality industry; let alone someone running a business. Treating customers with such utter disrespect is a disgrace, and it completely overshadowed what should have been a wonderful dining experience. Because of the appalling way we were treated by management, we will never be back and cannot recommend this establishment to anyone.
