I always receive top notch service whenever I buy here. I don't want to buy online because you have to pay to ship it back if you don't like it plus no personal touch. I love coming to this store, seeing the products in person and knowing I can have an easy return in store if I buy in store. Plus you can't beat the service of talking to actual humans. I cannot believe what terrible customer service I have received on Z Gallerie! I went in on Aug.2 ( my birthday)for some shopping- YAY! I found a beautiful duvet, shams and euro pillows I wanted but they did not have in stock. The saleswoman said she would order and have on the truck on Wed. for me.She was going to send me a code online so I could buy it. NEVER HAPPENED! Worried I called Friday and talked to the manager. She said she would personally send me a code via text or email so that I could pay for the order. I NEVER GOT ANYTHING. IT NEVER HAPPENED!! The sales woman called me again on Sunday and said sorry and would send me the code. NEVER HAPPENED AGAIN!! On Aug 10 I called the main office for Z Gallerie and asked for the District Manager to call or email me to help get my birthday order. He has never called me or emailed me. NEVER HAPPENED!!! Purchased a sofa on August 12, 2017. Today (11/3/17--week 12) I called the Encinitas store where I bought the sofa to get a delivery status update--outside estimate from them at time of purchase was 10-12 weeks. I learned that my sofa won't be delivered until end of November or early December, instead of late October early November delivery, max, as promised. So, a MONTH late!!! When I asked who was supposed to inform me of this delay, the individual at the Encinitas store told me Customer Service. He offered apologies and the lame excuse of "holiday orders." I reminded him that I ordered the sofa on AUGUST 12TH, which quickly quelled any conversation about "holiday orders." I called Customer Service and they confirmed the delayed delivery and told me that "parts" for my sofa were back ordered and that the piece was coming from China, whereas the info on their website states the sofa is "made in the USA." When I asked who was supposed to inform me of the delay, the reply was "the store where you bought it." Clearly, no one wants to take responsibility and have a conversation with the customer to inform her the delivery is a month beyond what was promised. I asked if I could cancel the order and of course the answer was no--it's already in production, I was told. Really??? It is NOT already in production or I would have it sooner than the first week of December. It doesn't take a month to make a sofa--it's not that special. I also asked for inconvenience compensation, which apparently they are very used to granting, although the customer service rep couldn't give me any details aside from, "contact us about it after you have taken delivery of the piece." I will be pursuing the "truth in advertising aspect" of this transaction. Their website claims the sofa is made in USA, but Customer Service told me it is manufactured in China. Made the mistake of buying furniture here. Bought 4 items-- one I could take home, one HAD to be delivered, and the other I had to come back to pick up. Delivery was 200 dollars, but the other items had to be picked up--only one item could be delivered. SO ridiculous. The manager Cindy told me I could pick up my item in 1-2 weeks. She gave me a number to contact her but when I call the number it says the number is disconnected. When I call the store no one has a clue what is going on with anything-- I've never talked to less competent employees. Now they tell me they can't give me an exact date when my furniture will be here for pickup. DO NOT SHOP HERE. read more

The customer service at ZGallerie in Encinitas is awful!!! The employees are cold, unhelpful, and are not educated on the products. They always have to "look up" what you are asking for. The products are nice, so I am only ordering online from now on. read more

I had a totally different experience from the other reviewers when I visited Z Gallerie today. Every staff member greeted my husband and I upon entering and they were warm and welcoming. We were shopping for mirrors and found the perfect one hung high up on the wall. Cindy Dunn assisted us. Even though she was unable to bring the mirror down, she was very helpful and informative. We ended up purchasing 10 mirrors for our business and she patiently walked us through the whole shipping and delivery process. Best customer service ever! read more

Our house is furnished with mostly all Zgallarie furniture and accessories. When we had three decorative pillows fall completely apart after two years, and we brought them back into the Encinitas store, the manager Tracy there was very rude, unapologetic and unhelpful. Horrible customer advice that doesn't live up to the look/feel of the store. We are never shopping at Zgallarie again. read more

I have been a Z Gallerie shopper for years....1/2 of my home decor is from there. That ends today. I ordered a $500 rug and wanted it shipped to store for security purposes. I'm in a new home and having family for the holidays. I get to the store, which is an hour from home after being called to come pick up my rug. I got there, and not only had the warehouse shipped the wrong rug, no one caught it before I left work early to trek out there. I was told no way to overnight ship it for me so asked for a refund. Will never shop with them again, and will certainly share my poor experience with others. read more

This has been an extremely poor experience. I have purchased from Z Gallerie before, and even have a Z Gallerie credit card. When I purchased a couch from them six months ago, everything went wrong. First there was a two month delay after I was told it was in stock, then they delivered it (via their broker FDS) with two left handed sides instead of one left and one right. They took the entire couch back but then refused to refund my credit card. It took months to get the actual couch and they double charged me in the process by $3000.00. I gave them one more try at the end of April, ordering one couch, one headboard and bedframe, and two large tables. I was told everything would be ready in two weeks. Two months later, nothing. Every time I called the store I was given to a different young lady. Each time, whoever answered contradicted the words of the previous person, and I was always told: "Oh, X person was new, she shouldn't have told you that. She doesn't work here anymore". If this is true each time I was told, then the turnover rate at this Z Gallerie is astronomical! One girl told me my furniture was readily available, but would not ship until "they fill the truck". The next girl told me that was a "made-up story that you should not have been told".(?) Another girl told me: "It all comes from Europe, so that takes a long time" (The furniture does not come from Europe, needless to say!). Hours were wasted on this. Then the girls started telling me that my 50% deposit had to be converted into 100% payment. I said "Sure, just let me know when the furniture is coming". They never knew! But they always asked for money. Finally they got it down to a 7-day window and I paid same-day. But then they insisted on splitting my order in two, despite my protests. They said that the headboard and bed frame would not arrive for another month (!), so if I wanted my couch and tables now (Note, I had just paid in full two minutes prior) I had to have the order split. No choice. Today, the couch and tables arrived. One half hour after the FDS truck pulled away, Z Gallerie called and said that my bed frame and headboard were ready to be delivered immediately! All I have to do is pay the balance AND-- another delivery fee! Yes, Z Gallerie is demanding a second delivery fee for their own mistakes. They are charging me two delivery fees on what was always one order until they broke it up themselves one week ago. It seems very scammy-- A half hour after my furniture is delivered, the second half of my order (which should never have been separated in the first place) is no longer on a month delay but is magically available now? Just for a new delivery charge. I am tired of the game playing with all these girls-- Its been a huge waste of time. Speaking to a manager does not help. I spoke to someone who described herself as a manager-- Cindy-- And when I got nowhere with her I drove to Encinitas-- 50 miles from my house-- Only to be told that she also no longer works there? They gave me a new manager-- Sweet thing, she looked to be about 20 or so? She said she was new and just could not assist. I actually felt sorry for her, they slap these girls on the sales floor and they don't empower them with any delivery information. Both sides lose. Z Gallerie wont refund my 50% deposit because its "too late" so now I have to fight them legally (remember, I used their card! Amex would credit me right away, but I am going to have to fight Z Gallerie for months now) and that will be a new hassle. Advice to those reading-- Z Gallerie has some cute things on the shop floor. Buy those. Don't get anything delivered. If you Google "Z Gallerie delivery complaints" you will see a ton of data before you. It is an endemic problem nationwide that they have no interest in fixing. They lost another customer today, and I lost a ton of time on nonsense. Buy your small accessories here and your furniture elsewhere. read more

It is not the beautiful merchandise that I have an issue with, it is the poor customer service. When I am in a nice store, I do expect the staff to be professional and helpful. Last evening I was helped by a wonderful Hungarian woman. The next person got my remaining items over to the register and told me to wait on line. When it was my turn I answered who my helper was. The cashier was very obvious in her annoyance with this associate for whatever reason (she was waiting to clock out). Regardless, it made me very uncomfortable to see her disrespected in tone and direction. Today I called because my pillow is torn and I requested they hold it for 2 hours to ensure I can exchange it. I was told they would not put anything on hold during the holiday. After pointing out I purchased a damaged item he reluctantly asked for info i did not have accessible, although it is pretty easy to locate. If I need to purchase again I will consider traveling to another location. The energy is not good. read more

On 12/23 around noon walked in aimlessly looking for a specific candle, and right before we walked out and went elsewhere, a nice employee asked "what are you looking for?" We told her, and we found them tucked on a bottom shelf. Our constructive feedback wasn't on that, but on the floor manager who failed to identify the long line of customers waiting to get rung up, while the majority of employees were tidying up the store; which didn't need it because the store looked great. In my opinion, offering assistance to the cashiers who were multi-tasking various tasks involved in ringing up a customer, wrapping fragile items, etc. was the most appropriate choice to enhance the experience of shopping at the store during the busy holiday season. It appears your floor manager is too operationally focused- cleaning, organizing, unpacking, restocking (all tasks I witnessed your employees involved in), and 1 employee appeared to be ready and standing by the door to greet, but no one managing what happens after the customer is done making buying decisions, and standing in a long line to continue servicing the customer. read more

I've come here a few times over the past several months to see the items I want in person before purchasing them. I definitely recommend doing the same since the items often look quite different in person. That being said, the store and everything in it is GORGEOUS. No other furniture store carries pieces that compare to the beautiful ones that Z Gallerie manufactures. It's a shame they only have one location in all of San Diego county! As far as the customer service goes, I've never had any issues. The employees have all been very kind and helpful to me, especially Julio and Cindy who I've interacted with the most. The online service is a different story...their customer service can improve considerably, but since this is a review about the store I won't go into detail about that. Instead of ordering online, I recommend ordering in store since you can receive help regarding your order directly from the store associates, plus you'll be supporting the location which is important since many stores have been closed down in recent months. I'll continue shopping here since I always like to see the items in person and the associates are super sweet! Sales are frequent so be on the lookout for that. Highly recommend this store if you're looking for stunning furniture for your home. read more

Z Gallerie has lost a customer forever, and I hope this review will deter you from ever shopping there. I wish I could give zero or negative stars. I ordered a product from the website that I ended up not wanting, so I returned it. Z Gallerie received my return on March 26, and stated it would be 7-10 business days for them to credit my account. I emailed them yesterday, April 9 (the 10th business day after they received the return), to inquire why the refund had not been credited to my account yet. I received only an automated response that someone would "respond as quickly as possible." Upon receiving no further response, I called today, April 10 (the 11th business day after they received the return), to again inquire why the refund had still not been credited to my account. I was informed the credit was submitted only yesterday, and that it would be ANOTHER 7-10 business days for the refund to issue. I will never shop here again, and I encourage you to avoid Z Gallerie as there are plenty of other expensive home goods stores that actually care about their customers at which to spend your money. read more

I ordered a sectional and table from the store in Encinitas Mid March and was told the inventory would be in the warehouse on 4/3. Well, the inventory arrived on time, but is was not scheduled to arrive at my house until 4/21!! That's the process. The goods arrive at the warehouse (in LA, I think). Then, they wait until there is a full truck to transfer the goods from the warehouse to the city of destination. Then, it's another week after it arrives in the city of destination until it is delivered to your house. Very disappointing. If I had known this, I wouldn't have placed the order with them.
