This review is for a delivery order. The food was mediocre at best. Toppings were missing in my omelette. The potatoes had no crisp & were undercooked. Side salad was fresh though. My partner got the French toast and said it was the worst he's ever had. He could tell it had potential in term of the taste but the texture was so inconsistent (but mostly hard), he could barely even bite it. & his egg whites were greasy. We both could taste the potential but perhaps next time (if there is one) we'll have to order something different & would need to go in person. read more

Generally I like Zaca. I like their mashed potatoes, chicken skewer, turkey burger, and fries. My fiancee likes the salmon burger. I have a LOT of complaints though. Their coffee is really overpriced. Their service is pretty slow and the servers aren't attentive. Delivery is super slow. And worst of all, they recently sent me a really small (half the size of my palm) serving of salmon in the $13 salmon salad. It was basically packed to the brim with spinach. I emailed them so that they could rectify the situation before I came to Yelp and they didn't respond after several days. Truly disappointing. read more

Everything I've had at this place has been delicious. My go tos are their cobb salad, turkey sandwich, and chicken soup and mashed potatoes (best comfort food combo). Zaca puts out consistently very, very good food. Their brunch is very low key and delicious. My favorite is the Zaca platter: the cheese grits are great. Their paninis also make great lunches; I'm particularly fond of the chicken with bacon. We popped in here for a casual dinner after reading about the story of the owner who worked his way up through the NYC restaurant business starting as a dishwasher and moving up to owning his own spot. All the food is was very good and you could test the little extra care that went into the dishes. The butternut squash soup cake with grilled bread and was drizzled with olive oil. Both the salmon and turkey burgers were full of flavor and served on a delicious multi grain brioche. From there he is touching the door handle to dirty products while he still have on the same gloves. Then he goes back to cooking your food. Zaca is a great addition to this side of Bed Stuy--a casual place for breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch, and the option to dine in or take out. I've been twice on the weekends for brunch/lunch, and once stopped by the take out section for an egg sandwich. The chef and owner of Zaca worked at Choice Market in Clinton Hill, so I was happy to see some of the same items on the menu, along with some new dishes. You have to try the Zaca Platter--the grits hit the spot and the additional sauces rounded out the platter. I've also had the french toast and the mustard chicken and scallion waffles (you get a huge, juicy piece of chicken!). Service has improved since they first opened, and I love seeing people enjoying brunch on the weekends when I walk by. Placing an order for take out was a breeze, and my sandwich was ready within ten minutes. While they have wine and beer on the menu, it wasn't available the last time I dined in (last July, I think they were waiting on their liquor license) but that might have changed since then. I stopped in for a quick meet up. It was happy hour so I ordered a glass of white wine and Mac and cheese (don't ask about this combo lol). The white was okay, but the Mac and cheese was...different. The cheese they use don't mesh well together nor do they melt well. It was mainly noodles with light cheese and heavy unmelted cheese. Thankfully my waitress saw my distress and allowed me to swap my meal for fries. The fries were bomb! Happened upon this spot doing a random search for Brunch last week. In town from LA and was pleasantly surprised! Came in three times while I was here! It's that good. The atmosphere is chill and inviting, friendly service. Food is made fresh to order and is so flavorful. Must tries are: Shrimp and Grits, Fried Fish Sandwich, Salmon Burger and the Scallion Waffle!! Black Own Business!!!!! My best friend lives near and we wanted to try Zaca out! Immediately I loved the ambiance. You walk in and you sit yourself. I ordered the Turkey Burger, my best friend ordered the Panini. We asked the owner a few questions about where he is from and the restaurant and he was polite and answered all of our questions.
