    Deep Dish

Excellent replacement of this space. I love Zachary's and now that there is one in my home town, I will continue to support them with frequent when I visit town every month. Deep dish is hard to find and it is created so well here. A specialty that demands the attention of your taste buds. Sat at the bar to order and enjoy my meal. Bartender was attentive at just the right times.

My friends and I were craving some deep dish pizza so we opted to try this place out. Service was good about checking up on us even though the food wasn't ready for a while. Though that was expected since deep dish takes a while to make. Once we got our food, it was VERY filling. I am one to eat all of the food on my plate and I was extremely full after eating two slices of this. Even a large shared among three people will result in leftovers for home. Overall, a pretty good pick if you want deep dish.

Last weekend my dad suggested pizza for our family lunch and I was so glad that I knew that Zachary's is now open! First off, I really love the colorful decor. It gives off happy vibes. And I'm thrilled that the enormous ceiling fan is still there! The service was fine. Nothing wonderful or egregious to report. The food! I took control of ordering because my family was thinking at a glacial pace. I chose the arugula salad for all of us to share and it was very tasty. The only annoying thing about arugula is it's very difficult to stab with your fork. My dad didn't have an issue though (surprise). For the pizza I ordered the stuffed Zachary's Special (Italian sausage, green peppers, mushrooms, Mozzarella and ONIONS). The reason the word onions is in all caps is because in my slice I got A LOT of them. I love onions. Unfortunately they were raw. I don't know how you can bake a pizza for maybe 30 minutes and have the onions be raw. My suggestion, and I am absolutely not a chef, is to maybe sauté them for a little bit before they go in the pizza. They were so pungent that when I got home, my son asked if I was eating onions. I tasted them all day. Otherwise the pizza was delicious. My family was only able to eat half of the pizza because it's so massive so my dad let me have the other half to go. As I left with my box, it felt like I was carrying a toddler. I will definitely be back! But with gum!

4.5 stars, rounding up. Zachary's has a soft opening this week, but they know what they're doing, so there were almost no rough edges. We had at least three different people helping us at some point, so good teamwork there. The Wife and I were regulars at the Pizzaria Uno in Philly many years ago, so this was like memory lane. We always got the same thing then, and we got it again at Zachary's - a small stuffed cheese and tomato. Small, but with two salads, plenty of food, and two pieces (out of six) to take home. Oh, so good. I added oregano and crushed red pepper, which are on every table along with Parmesan. I had a Caesar salad, which was quite good. The croutons are tasty but huge, and I would have likes the option for anchovies, but the lettuce was actually deep green. The Wife had the spinach salad, which is kinda hard to find around here. Balsamic vinaigrette, hold the bacon. Sine Zachary's is a Chicago style pizza place, they actually have Jeppson's malört on the drink menu. IYKYK. The other cocktails sounded tasty, mostly standards with some kind of flavor twist. I also had a glass of Wente red blend. Because I did a reminder to bring the wine, they gave me a discount on it, which wasn't necessary, but nice. The interior is bright and fun with all the customized prints. With Doppio Zero and the Slice House coming soon, along with Wingen, downtown Livermore has great pizza options at last.

The end of our great drinks! :(

I'm not a huge fan of deep dish pizza, but the pizza was good. I really liked the salads. I could've had the Caesar and spinach salads only and would have been very happy. Salads were loaded with toppings and the dressings were divine. The cauliflower and the wings were also really tasty. Will come again.

    Bbq chicken thick crust pizza

We arrived late-ish on Saturday night after a long day competing in SF. We were promptly seated and water served. The dining area was clean and had an open feel. Our crew was hungry so we ordered a few thick crust pizzas - bbq chicken, veggie, and pepperoni. We also ordered a kids and gluten free pizza. Very accommodating menu!! We asked for the kids pizza to come out first which it did. We were informed the thick crust would take 35-40 min to make. It did seem like a took a while before our pizzas came out but that might have been because we were so hungry that it felt like a long time. The pizzas came out piping hot and very rich!! This was my first time having Zachary's deep dish so I could barely eat an entire slice. I wanted to try all three so I ate a little of each and I was completely full. All though we were there late we never felt rushed by the staff. Everyone was very friendly.

I just finished a lunch deal. I had a personal stuffed Carne. It was delicious. Drank a Ghost Town Hop Clot DIPA. The price of the craft beer was on the high side. Overall, good experience. I'll come back.

The interior was a nice set up. Not too loud but a little low on the lighting. We kicked things off with the hush puppies. They were crispy, hot, and really good... then the cinnamon butter entered the chat. I appreciate the creativity, but my brain couldn't decide if I was eating an appetizer or breakfast toast. Good hush puppies though. The crispy Brussels sprouts were fantastic. I've had a similar version with lemon at Station 16, so I found myself wanting to grab a lemon wedge out of habit. That said, they were still delicious and disappeared quickly. My cousin ordered the Salisbury steak and absolutely loved it. It was cooked perfectly, tender, and full of flavor. My other cousin had the New York steak and said they nailed the temperature and seasoning. I ordered the Bourbon Chicken, and the flavors were outstanding. My only tiny complaint is the sauce. It was so generous that my mashed potatoes eventually surrendered and became mashed potato soup. I'd still order it again because the flavor was worth it but maybe ask for the sauce on the side. My son had the Southwest Salad and cleaned the bowl, which is about as close to a Michelin star as a parent can give. The service was friendly, the food came out looking as good as it tasted, and everyone at the table genuinely enjoyed their meal. Finding a restaurant where nobody is eyeing someone else's plate with regret is harder than it should be, but The Bourbon Pear pulled it off. We'll definitely be making the drive back to Livermore.

Our server came over and introduced herself and asked if we would like any cocktails and offered us water and gave us some time to pick out what we would like to eat. He was fast, friendly and attentive. The food here is exceptionally good, especially for the prices. I feel like the prices are very good and reasonable, especially in today's time. On top of the fact that everything that we ordered here on both of our visits have been phenomenal and taste and presentation. The atmosphere is nice. The aesthetics are pretty. It does get a little bit loud, but that's understandable as everyone is there to have a good time and a good meal. We had the Salisbury steak, Reyes, beef, short rib, the flank steak, and I personally had the grilled cheese inside of smoked tomato soup. The tomato soup is literally the best tomato soup I've ever had in my life. The grilled cheese is cooked to perfection and together they are just a wow meal. Can't wait to go back to try more dishes.

The ambiance is cute with a small closed off glass area of wine and two seater table inside! Our waitress Dominique was amazing. She was able to give great recommendations for wines and food. She also made us feel taken cared of and was friendly/warm. The food is a mix of mexican/euro/american so there were a lot of different options. Here are the things we got: Appetizers - Parm crusted cauliflower: so good, nice and crunchy but not too heavily breaded. The chipotle mayo was delish - Chicharrones: so light and crispy! They were hot out of the fryer. It had a side of a corn cheese dip that was so good and made it more unique of a dish -- must try if you even kind of eat chicharrones. I don't generally like pork skin but I enjoyed it regardless. - Hamachi ceviche: this is a large sharing portion with chunks of hamachi and avocado. Good but not a must have. Entrees - Enchiladas: very cheesy and overall a good dish but I would skip this. - Shrimp tostadas: large size shrimp and it just comes with two tostadas so I don't think it was worth the price - Barramundi fillet: The fish was tender and juicy. I liked the marinades that came with it. I liked this dish with the rice because it made me feel homey. Good portion of fish. - Agua Chile Ribeye: This is a must have! The ribeye is sous vide so it was soo tender and juicy. The broth was really nice to keep everything moist and flavorful. Because we were celebrating a birthday, Dominique made a dessert with a nice special touch. Will definitely be back again!

I've been meaning to try the one in Pleasanton forever ago, but I stumbled onto this newer location…read morein Livermore so here we are. Looks like it took over the old Harry's Hofbrau space except they turned that massive space into 2 units now, as the days of massive dining halls are starting to become a rarity. Order at a counter and food gets brought to your table. There's a full bar (which I thought was strange for this type of food) but this is also Livermore where it still tends to have a stronger drinking culture than most other suburban towns. Most of the seating is in their 'outdoor' patio which is pretty well enclosed with one of those catering tents. Babaghanoush ($8/2.5*) Looked great with warm pita and an olive oil drizzle on top. Texture was spot on creamy and soft but they overloaded this usually delicate dip/mezze with enough raw garlic to kill a horse. Now I usually love garlic but this was to the point where you couldn't taste anything else so main ingredient which is roasted eggplant, you couldn't even tell what it was. And your mouth was tingling with that harsh garlic taste for minutes after chewing it down. Instead of wasting it, I packed it home and used it like Toum to spread onto other things. I've actually had Toums less potent than this. Adana Kabob ($19/4.5*) This a ground lamb kabob Turkish style. Similar to a Lule, Koobideh, Shami kabobs from other cultures. Turkish has pretty bold spicing but not as strong as Afghan or Pakistani. And definitely more assertive than Persian or Armenian. So kind of in the middle of the spectrum. I loved the texture and the flavor, just maybe a tad ambitious on the charring. Now that char did add an awesome grill flavor but a couple degrees more than burnt qualities may then be perceived. Combo Beef/Lamb Kabob $20/4*) For combos you can actually pick from several kabobs. They use smaller chunks like half inch cubes small. It is very natural tasting, no heavy marinades or spicing. Tasted like just salt to me so you can really taste the protein. But very well done but not really dry. I just prefer larger chunks like at least 1 inch cubes, so the meat stays juicy and succulent. Afghan and Persian kabobs usually have bigger pieces on those skewers. And these plates have a side of salted plain rice (not basmati) a green salad, some pita and a nice dollop of hummus which was top notch. Decent food, efficient service is going to make them a solid option for me in this town. Iskender, lamb shanks still in the zone for me to try.

It was very busy, and we had to wait approximately 20 minutes to get a table. Once seated, it took our server another 10 minutes just to come over and take our order. They were clearly low on staff, but to their credit, the staff members were definitely friendly despite the rush. The food quality varied quite a bit across our table: The highlight of the meal was the Blackened Atlantic Wild Salmon, which my wife ordered. It was served over Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and roasted seasonal organic vegetables, all topped with a lemon, butter, caper, and white wine sauce. This dish was an absolute 5/5--perfectly executed. I ordered the 14 oz New York Steak with scalloped potatoes and charred organic seasonal vegetables, topped with cowboy butter. I asked for it medium-well and really enjoyed the steak, giving it a solid 4/5. My friend ordered Mama's Crispy Tacos (two chicken and one potato), which came with cotija, lettuce, avocado, crema, and pico de gallo, served alongside a spicy green salsa and pinto bean smash. They rated this a good 4/5. On the flip side, my friend also tried the Grilled Baja Prawn Tacos. Served on flour tortillas over a bed of mixed greens with pineapple salsa and chipotle sauce, this dish really lacked flavor and was a disappointing 2/5. We also started with the Seasonal Mixed Greens salad, which came with green apple slices, candied pecans, seasonal berries, and a white balsamic vinaigrette on the side. This was just okay, landing at a 3/5. Overall, Maple Street Eatery is a decent place for brunch or lunch. If the service becomes more efficient and a few of the food items are improved to match the quality of the salmon and steak, we would definitely make this a regular spot to visit.
