A couple things can be improved and this place has the potential to be one of the best pizza places in Livermore. The pizza itself in my opinion tastes fantastic. A lot of great options and I think it's great that you can pick from a variety of styles. My friends and I came in on a Thursday evening to try this place out. We bought 2 pizzas: NY style, Cal Italia and also a pepperoni. Both tasted great. A few things however, to criticize regarding our experience. 1) LONG wait time: It did take a while before someone came to the counter to take our order. There were no other customers in line so it didn't seem like they were too busy from what I could tell. We ordered to dine-in so we can share a couple pizzas and chat. It took a very long time before we got our pizzas. We even saw our pizza sitting out for a while before someone came to bring it to us. 2) COLD pizza: I understand why many people have complained about their delivery/to-go pizzas are cold. They have all the to go orders sitting on a rack outside the kitchen. I used to work at a pizza place and ALL to-go orders sat on top of the oven to keep warm while waiting. Why are all the orders just sitting on a rack outside with no heat? We saw our pizza sitting on that rack for a while before someone was able to bring it to us. We noticed the pizza was not very warm when we ate it so that threw us off a bit. 3) Not dine-in friendly: I assumed that dine-in customers would get the pizza served on a tray. It was our first time so I guess I didn't know what to expect. They still served our pizza at the table in to-go boxes even though we were dine-in. And then they provided paper plates. Maybe this place is more meant for to-go orders? That also threw us off. I thought they would serve it on a tray and maybe with other types of plates and not paper plates. I also don't know why our pizzas had to sit in a box on the to-go rack and wait for someone to get it and bring it to us instead of having the pizza be served immediately when it came out of the oven. I don't know I might have a bias having worked at a pizza place before and I know these are easy fixes. Long story short: If the service was better and the pizza wasn't cold I would give it 5 stars. read more

So many options to chose from and so many different crust types such as NY style, Detroit, regular, Sicilian, Grandma, with each one being exceptionally well made and delicious. I got 2 different slices and they were absolutely humongous! Rosa- Detroit Style- Topped with pepperoni, basil, mozzarella, excellent flavor. Tomato sauce was fresh, cheese was nice, gooey, and melty, and the cheese pull was absolutely amazing. Basil added an elevated flavor to it as a whole. Wiseguy- Regular- Delicious. I loved how the sweet ricotta cheese balances out the salty flavors of the sausage and pepperoni. This was the clear winner and the best slice that I had this day. I can still taste the pizza today. Google maps strangely takes you on an unnecessary detour if following walking directions, but you can find the restaurant entrance in the tunnel-like walkway that passes through the building. The place offers both indoor and outdoor seating with quirky artworks on the walls and a modern, clean, and inviting space. Service was okay this past Friday in the evening. A bit slow, but I didn't encounter any problems. Ordered by the slice, and got the detroit style Little Italy and Walker's White Pie, which were both reheated in a quick fashion. The ingredients and crust on the Little Italy slice were delicious, savory toppings, and buttery and crisp edges. However, the Walker's White Pie, even after being toasted, didn't taste as good. It was still edible and I enjoyed the melted cheese (as I would any pizza), but it just tasted old, like it had been sitting in the display case for too long, the crust and toppings sort of stale and the alfredo sauce dried up. That said, I still appreciate the variety of pizza flavors and styles offered by Slice House, and I wouldn't hesitate to visit other locations of the chain when in the mood for some saucy, cheesy goodness. read more

There are four styles to choose from - Detroit, Sicilian, New York & Long Island Grandma. That im itself was an experience - square or round, pan fried or cooker in steel pans, focacia crust or flour-based? I enjoyed the Drunken Italian. It was doughy & crusty. The vodka sauce was the perfect base to the bacon, mozzarella, & cheddar. It was heated in the oven before serving it to me. It is definitely good for 2! Service is simple. Order at the counter. Slices are displayed next to the register. Once it is heated & finished with garlic, Olive oil, oregano& romano cheese, they'll call you to pick it up or they'll bring it to your table (for dine in). Heard about this place on Instagram and decided to check it out. When we showed up on a weeknight for dinner, the line was packed, but it moved pretty quickly. You can order either a whole pie or by the slice. We decided to order 4 slices so we could try a few different flavors since you pick them from the window display. The slices are huge. I love to eat and so does hubby, but even for us, 4 slices was a lot. I think 2 or maybe 3 slices would've been enough. We ended up taking the 4th slice to-go. One thing I thought was interesting, we wanted a pepperoni slice, and there was only 1 left in the display case. We asked if they would be putting out more pepperoni, hoping for a fresh slice, and the employee went to check and said it would be about 3 minutes. She explained that they're not allowed to ring up a slice unless it's already in the display case or about to come out, so she had to check and get the OK before ringing up the pepperoni slice for us. Since they just opened, service seemed a little mixed. Some of the staff were friendly, while others didn't seem as welcoming. The inside was also very packed, so I was keeping an eye on the tables waiting for one to open up. They do have plenty of outdoor seating, but it was pretty cold that day so we were hoping for an indoor table. Their zero sugar soda was unfortunately out of order, which was a bit frustrating because the soda machine is around the corner so you don't find out until after you already have paid for your cup. I even saw someone disappointed after realizing they couldn't get their zero drink and went up to tell the staff. Apparently they hadn't received the syrup yet. At that point I probably would've asked for a refund since the only other options were regular sugary sodas. It also looked like they had a container dispenser for iced tea or something similar, but that was empty too. To be fair though, they just opened, so they may still be working out the kinks. For a simple slice of pizza, Slice House is great! Both times we've visited, we've ordered and ate there. It's been very busy, but the line moves along quickly and our slices come out soon after. I've gotten pepperoni both times and it's been flavorful, hot, and fresh each time. My husband has ordered a couple different types and enjoyed them. So far we have not tried the pastas, whole pies, or any dishes other than the slices. One is definitely enough to fill you up but I had to try at least two, did pizza by the slice. Was bummed they only had hawaiian detroit style by the slice, will have to come back another day bc I am anti pineapple on pizza. Wiseguy NY style- 5/5 gigantic, crust was hot and crispy. All the sausages were good and flavorful Sicilian - 5/5 I think they only had the traditional, honestly the line just moved so fast I just picked what looked good. And it was, this was my favorite of the two, the dough was so chewy and the bottom was lightly fried from the oil. Cheese was perfectly melty and gooey. Let's be honest. This man Tony has 13 World Pizza Champion titles. Thirteen! I haven't won thirteen of anything in my entire life, unless you count arguments with my GPS. So, I walked into Slice House expecting good pizza. What I got was a full-blown religious experience disguised as a carbohydrate delivery system. The inside is clean with many TV's to catch a game, I took a moment to Figure out where I wanted to sit. I ordered the sweet gino-style pizza, and I am pretty sure the crispy cheese edge on that crust cured my bad mood. The crust is so thick and fluffy it could pull double duty as a pillow, yet the bottom is perfectly fried. How do you make dough both airy and structural? Is it magic? Is it physics? I don't care. Just keep it coming. The New York slice is so big you could use it as a blanket, and the sauce tastes like it was blessed by an Italian grandmother who loves you more than your own mother does. Is it possible to be romantically involved with a slice of pepperoni? Asking for a friend. 10/10 will be back tomorrow to continue my research. read more

I love Slice House for serving both Detroit and NY pizzas, and by the slice to boot. The slices are a great way of trying out different combos, and are in the ballpark of $8/slice. It sounds pricey, but you can taste the difference in these pizzas, the doughs, the sauces, and the freshness of ingredients. I think it's worth it. FYI, slices are re-warmed in their oven before being served to or boxed for you. Burrata Queen is my favorite, as I really like white sauce pizzas, but they stopped selling this one by the slice. (Bring it back for me, pretty please?) The Motorhead is also good for pepperoni and bacon lovers. Conveniently, there's a parking garage about a block away with easy and free parking that serves a lot of the downtown area. There's also a lot near that garage. And, there's limited diagonal street parking directly in front of the store. There are few tables, maybe 8 or so, to accommodate a few parties, and the line definitely starts getting long at 6pm on a weekend. My friend who dislikes pizza likes this place. My dad who only seems to like Mountain Mike's also likes this place. My sister, a health nut, also likes their pizza. I am a huge fan of Tony's Napoletana in North Beach and Pyzanos back when it was in CV so I was excited for it to come to Livermore. The restaurant was crowded, but the line to order went fairly quick. We ordered 3 slices to dine in: the Motörhead, a white pie, and a meat one with hot honey. The Motörhead was a Detroit style thick fluffy pizza. Texture was good , but the parm edges and the pepperoni was super salty. The parts without pepperoni were ok. The white pie flavor was good. The reheated thin crust was very hard to chew. The meat with hot honey slice was ok too. The honey balanced the super salty pepperoni. Again, the reheated crust was pretty hard and difficult to chew. If I were to try this place again, I would probably order a whole pizza instead so that it's freshly cooked and hot. Another ding was when we picked up our dine in order, the worker shouted our number over our pizza. There were no seating available so we ate outside. read more

For what it is, I'd say it's a once-in-a-while pizza option. It's pricey ($7/slice, $26/12" pizza). We got the Roma. We love the small pepperoni used on the pie. The NY style crust wasn't delicious. Pizza by the slice and a choice of (I think) EIGHT different styles! I went specifically for the Detroit Pizza -- but their Wednesday Detroit slice is ham and pineapple! I know Buddy's has it, too, it's just not for me. I had the Sicilian slice of the day which was good and kind of similar, but I was really set on Detroit! Order at the counter and listen for name for pickup. Get your own beverage, so I'm guessing free refills (I don't drink soda and they give a little glass for water). Lots of hardscape so it can probably get loud. We were there for lunch so lots of pick up and go, but lots of tables in use, too. Heading back over with a Detroit friend today. We were super excited to find out with was opening close by and could not wait for the hype to go down to give it a try. We tried a couple different ones but my favorite are the NY style thin pizza compared to the Detroit thick style. I have tried a couple flavors and have liked them all. I also think I tried one of the pastas and it was also good. The place gets crazy busy and the restaurant is kinda small so when you are there just to pick up, there's really no where to stand and wait that isn't in the way of other people. My first slice house experience, and I'm psyched to try more here. The place is very new and clean so far. My order was simple, a cheese slice and a small drink. It's not cheap, but the slice was a good size, and with my current diet, it was all I needed for lunch. You can tell by my picture that the cheese makes it look very NY style, my favorite. (I love Chicago style too, but that's more casserole than pizza). It didn't take long for my name to be called. There was no place inside or out to sit, so I took it into my car. Should have gotten it to go in a box, oh well. I wonder if there's anyplace inside or out where they could install an SRO shelf to eat from? Anyway, besides being wide, the slice is somewhat thicker than a normal NY style, but that was just fine. It certainly wasn't doughy. There's a negative review here that refers to "burned pizza" and I wondered if they realize what the bottom of a NY style slice is supposed to look like? The good stuff is so rare around here. Saw a movie at the Vine and decided to walk over and try a slice at this new place. The service was friendly, fast, and it was easy to find a clean table. It was 9:30 on a Saturday night so there were a few others up for a late night meal too. We ordered 2 slices and a drink. I always try a slice of cheese because that is the staple of any good pizza place! If the cheese slice isn't good- that's not a good sign. The slices went into the oven right away and were ready just as fast. Two piping hot slices were delivered to the table. They were cooked perfectly ( no burned crust ) and a generous size. I grew up on NY and New Haven pizza so I was please to fold my slice and take a bite. My local friend struggled with the size of the slice and it was entertaining. Next time she's going to ask it to be cut in two lol. I think the slice was very good! I enjoyed it! I saw other tables had ordered very think doughy crusted pizza.
