Listen, let me just start off by saying I have worked in food service before, so I have a lot of sympathy for staff and the potential to be overworked and/or overwhelmed. The food is great, and this is a very popular spot in Dublin. That said, this is my second experience at this Mendocino farms where the order readiness time seemed unusually slow. It spite of the restaurant being about 1/2 full, at 3PM, and being the first in line, my in person order of just (1) sandwich took 20 minutes. This would be completely understandable except that they also got my 1-item order wrong. I ordered a chicken Parmesan Dip and received a chicken pesto instead. On a previous occasion recently I had a Chicken Parm take about 30 minutes. The food is usually excellent but if you're thinking of somewhere to go with coworkers for your lunch break, plan for a longer lunch or another venue. read more

This was our third visit to this location, and overall, I have a lot of positive things to say. Despite how busy they were, the staff remained professional, hardworking, and attentive throughout our visit. At one point, I witnessed a customer become very upset and raise his voice at the employees. The staff still handled the situation as calmly and respectfully as possible. It was honestly upsetting to see how little understanding some people had toward the staff, especially when the employees were visibly working as hard as they could to keep up with all the orders they had. From what I observed, the delay seems to come primarily from the volume of online orders. My husband and I ordered at the counter around noon during a very busy lunch rush, and we still received our food fresh within about 15-20 minutes. Considering how packed the restaurant was, I felt the wait was reasonable -- especially because the Thai Mango Salad is always worth it. What stood out most to me was the customer service. The staff and management were both friendly and understanding regarding wait times, and they genuinely seemed to care about the customer experience. I also appreciated that they offered complimentary drinks or chips to guests who experienced longer waits. They've only been open for less than a year, so I imagine they are still adjusting to the demand. Peach goat chicken salad: delicious. It has hot honey with diced peaches, shredded chicken with a balsamic dressing. Chef kiss. Heirloom BLT: terrible mess. We enjoyed the outdoor patio seating because we like to hang out with our pup. Tried the seasonable goat peach salad and it was delicious and super fresh but for whatever reason still took about twenty ish minutes to get to us. The patio is private which is a plus. If there were half stars I'd rate it 3.5. This is my first to any location they have. Nice corner spot in a very busy parking lot with Whole Foods next door. Ample seating outside and inside. However, they lined some of their indoor seating with fake grass that I had no desire to sit on. The restaurant already had a few people seated and a couple of people waiting on their orders. I went with a friend and we both ordered salads. With the amount of staff there I'm unsure why it took so long for us to get our salads. I would come back to try their other salads if I'm too lazy to make my own but I hope they offer a half sandwich salad combo or maybe I didn't see that option? We came on a Sunday afternoon after 1pm and was able to order our food pretty quickly. It took a bit longer than expected to receive the food ~25 min(?) after ordering, seemed like they had a lot of online orders they were filling simultaneously as well. New new in Persimmon Place! Located right next to Ethan Allen/Sephora/Whole Foods, it takes up a sizable corner of the plaza with its massive outdoor seating complete with a cornhole game. I parked in the lot behind Mendocino which was less crowded (entering from Dublin Blvd). Their IG marketing paid off because that's how I found out about signing up for their grand opening deal before they even opened: a free entree with any purchase! As always, I got the Avocado & Quinoa Superfood Ensalada ($14.15) which still scratches the salad itch. I usually opt for the dressing tossed in, and it always feels like more food when you dine in vs squished in a takeout container lol. I also ordered the tried and true Southern Potato Salad (small size $3.75) and a pint of Firestone Mind Hazy IPA ($8) because it was one of those days. We ate outside since it was crowded indoors on a Friday evening, and we were able to scan a code on our table to input our receipt number so the servers can find us with our orders. The parking area is quite large so it shouldn't be a problem. The interior design is consistent to all their other restaurants using the same tables & chairs. Two separate men and women's restrooms. My wife ordered the... Lemon Chicken & Farro Soup: a hearty chicken soup with whole-grain farro, carrot, celery, onion, baby spinach, lemon (4/5). Flavorful and hearty indeed. Baja Green Goddess Salad: Impossible chorizo OR chicken adobado, roasted corn, black beans, jicama, avocado, grape tomatoes, red onions, Monterey jack, taco crunch, romaine, arugula, cabbage, cilantro, Baja goddess dressing (4/5). My wife loves this salad. I ordered the... Southern Potato Salad: creamy potato salad with whole grain mustard, B&B pickles, scallions, dill (4/5). The dill and mustard really made the flavor. Mendocino Farms: very flavorful foods for quick service. Things that feel a little elevated compared to a Chipotle, but equally fresh and definitely vibing with the healthier side of things. Ok, this was the mindset as I headed into the Dublin location. It was really sort of underwhelming in terms of space, decor, and layout compared to the City Center Bishop Ranch location. Also, it just felt pricey. The basic sandwiches are $14ish and some of the steak ones being $17+. At this point, I may just want to go to a sit-down restaurant when I'm out $!7 before drink, desert, appetizers, tax or tip. My sister is much more budget-conscientious and said she'd rather go to the Ike's in Hacienda Crossings than go to Persimmon Place. You know parking is awful on this side of the lot and right off of Hacienda Blvd. It's hard to find and hard to get in and out of these spaces. (This is a really poorly designed parking lot, IMO, for foot traffic, turning radiuses, and size of space. That's not Mendo's fault, but may be a consideration factoring into your experience.) It's still good. It's still Mendo. I just would prefer the BR location or maybe another slightly cheaper sandwich in the area. read more

When it opened, Mendocino Farms was a revolution in the fast-casual scene (especially for sandwiches). It brought chef-focused sandwiches (higher quality ingredients, sourcing from farms, creative sauce use) to compete with Subway/Togos/etc. But time has meant the mantle of higher-end sandwiches has passed to other smaller spots, and Mendo is now a slightly-more-expensive spot with prices that don't quite justify what they're serving. This location in particular moves quite slow. Others have noted that there's a lot of staff but waits are quite long. It's a great spot (if you want a better version of Subway), but it's pricy and not quite as fast. read more

Been a customer at the San Ramon City Center for years and so thrilled that this spot finally opened. The remodel is fresh and new. The patio is fun and welcoming. The food is mainly sandwiches and salads. They offer beer and wine. Definitely check out their seasonal specials. On this visit, I tried the Seasonal GOAT with Pink Lady Apples (salad). This delightful treat is made with mixed greens, thinly sliced Pink Lady apples, chicken, goat cheese, and other good stuff. Yummy! Although they are rather quick, this is not fast food. Each order is carefully prepared after you order, so feel free to customize your salad or sandwich. They will make it the way you want it. The last thing is the pricing. Stopped in for dinner on their second day open and this place already feels like a hit. I had the chicken caprese sando, my husband ordered the chicken parm sandwich, and we shared the lemon farro chicken soup. The soup was absolutely INSANE. Creamy, savory, perfectly lemony, and dangerously addictive. Once you take a bite, you cannot stop. Honestly the star of the meal. Both sandwiches were solid and satisfying. The chicken was juicy, the flavors were well balanced, and nothing felt heavy or overdone. The staff were also super friendly and social, probably opening week energy but I really hope the vibe sticks. The restaurant inside was incredibly clean and cute, cute, cute. The salad was very good, had a variety of fresh ingredients and was flavorful but I knocked this place down 1 star because it took FOREVER to get my food. I visit Mendocino Farms nearly once a week for either lunch or dinner at the location near my home. While working in the Dublin area, I noticed the Mendocino Farms next to Whole Foods and decided to stop in and pick up a salad for my husband for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the restaurant is. It's much more spacious than the San Ramon location I usually visit. I mentioned this to Kenneth at the register, telling him how impressed I was with the restaurant. To my surprise, he was so appreciative of the compliment that he made me the "Mendocino Customer of the Day" and gave me the salad for free! I certainly wasn't expecting that, but it was such a thoughtful and generous gesture. The excellent customer service made my day, and my husband said the salad was delicious, as always. I ordered the Peruvian Steak Sandwich, which is my usual go to here. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Nina and Ashley helped me out today and were both very respectful and accommodating with any changes I requested. I had been going to Mendocino Farms and they had this amazing Farmhouse Ranch Salad. It was very good. Then all of a sudden it's gone. Turns out it's seasonal. I tried a different item the last two times hoping I would like them and just not as good. Had the Cobb and a sandwich and neither were that great. I'd probably go to Urban Plates across the way. Came here two weeks in a row. Not because of anything other than the family wanted to go back. Outstanding salads period. Have had the Cobb, Avocado Quinoa and Mango Thai. Not sure I can pick a favorite but all are stand alone meal worthy. Portions are good and satisfying. I am more of a meat and potatoes guy so that provides some context of how good these salads are. Menu is a tad limited but that likely contributes to the EXCELLENT quality of what they do provide. Happy that we finally have a Mendocino Farms in town! I was excited when it was announced. Had to come in on the first week to show some love! Also, wanted my mendo fix lol. We were greeted right away and asked if it was our first time (not mine but my companion's first time) so she proceeded to tell us what were the star orders. There were lots of employees, I'm assuming this is because of training. We put in our order and were told if we scan the QR code at our table they would bring over our food. Awesome! We both ordered the Chicken Parm Dip which included chicken, Mendo's krispies, melted mozzarella & parmesan, pomodoro sauce, basil, Calabrian chile aioli, on toasted sesame roll served with extra pomodoro for dipping. I gotta tell ya that basil was very bright tasting and the Calabrian chile aioli gave it that kick. Loved it especially the pomodoro dip that came with it. Perfect for dunking. Heard of but never been to a Mendocino farms. They just opened in the area. They resemble a more humble version of a "tender greens". Got a sandwich, ordered the Peruvian steak. Recommended to me if you like spicy (it wasn't). Contents via the menu = seared steak tossed in a spicy aji amarillo sauce, melted Oaxacan cheese, tomatoes, red onions, shredded romaine, herb aioli, on toasted potato roll. Solid sandwich, get some flavor from the spices/sauce. Fresh produce and a creamy aioli on a soft potato roll. They noted that I will be texted when the food was ready. Place wasn't busy. I waited 17 minutes and no text. Went to the front and my food was there. I asked how long has this been here and the associate just noted "o I'm sorry you didn't get a text?" I left then received a text message stating my order was ready. Meaning to me someone forgot to clear the order to send the text. Went back inside to address the text message. The manager acknowledged the issue , offered guest recovery stuff like providing a free cookie/drink. Foods good, guest recovery is fine but they appear they need to finish training with staff or fix a software issue with messaging when your food is ready. read more

Great customer service, came the day after they opened! Lines were busy but the cashiers are very helpful and the line went down pretty fast! It takes no time for the line to fill back up. The steak on my salad was so good and well seasoned! I opted to have all romaine, took out out cabbage, kale, spinach. Lydia was my waitress and she made the experience so awesome. It felt like fine dining! Outside area is really nice, beverage area has a lot of flavor lemonades, I chose the pomegranate. Majesty & Alex was also very helpful as well, it really felt like fine dining the amount of times they came to check on us. There were so many employees behind the counter, yet I waited over 20 minutes for a single sandwich -and it wasn't even busy. I eventually had to go up and ask about my order because no one seemed to be keeping track.
