    Mango Tikka Masala
    Paul M.

I ordered the lamb vindaloo, and it was probably the best I've ever had. I was not able to get a photo because I ate it too fast. The picture I included was of the mango tiki masala my mom ordered, which was just as amazing. I also added a pic of the garlic naan, which was really great too. I placed the order, and the staff were super friendly. It was ready in about 25 minutes. I didn't dine in, so I can't say much about the service beyond a friendly phone call when I picked it up, but everyone seemed pretty nice. The vibe of the place looks pretty much like other Indian restaurants. I didn't eat there, so I can't say much about the atmosphere, but it looked comfy. The restaurant is about five minutes from my house, and I will definitely be back.

Food~We were are craving Indian Cuisine (we could no longer go to our normal spot anymore) and, we looked a few places the first one we chose we had to wait for another hour and half. Zaiqa~Butter Masala the meat was tender and, had a good flavor but, it's not butter chicken (I am not a fan of masala). Matai Kofta (it reminds of egg foo young taste and texture). It was good but, we will not order again) Mixed Grill, veggie samosas, lamb biryani, and garlic naan were absolutely delicious and piping hot. Service~Our waiter was extremely helpful and gave exceptional service. We are allowed to seat where ever we are greeted with very cold water, plates, napkins, and silverware. Ambiance~It's in a small strip mall but, it has plenty of parking in the front and, on the side. The restaurant is very clean and, it's a restroom in the back. We will definitely be back sooner than later but, until then please give this wonderful establishment a try!!!

Was an Indian restaurant at this location before but this has new owners who have two other locations - one in Wilsonville and one in Portland. Ordered garlic naan, Chicken Biryani, Butter Masala, and Vindaloo. All were very good although the Vindaloo is very spicy, but I liked it. Clean and comfortable restaurant with attentive service. Will come back.

We love the food here. Kind of spicy so be mindful when ordering but oh so delicious! We always come early so seating is never an issue. Service is consistent and fast.

    Karahi

We had the Karahi with Tofu, Methi Curry with Paneer, Garlic Naan, and Punjabi Batura. This is a decent restaurant. The downside is that their flavors are not as rich and complex as I have had elsewhere. There were no unpleasant tastes, but not as interesting as elsewhere. This is a big negative. This restaurant didn't serve some of my favorites (for example Palak Paneer), this is a negative and also a positive. On the downside, I didn't eat my favorite dish. On the upside, this prompted me to try some new stuff that I would not have tried otherwise. In fact, I would say that this restaurant has some interesting offerings not available elsewhere. This is clearly a positive for people with an adventurous spirit! One thing that we liked was that dishes in the "custom entrees" section can be ordered with any protein. This is nice for vegetarians and vegans. The menu's description of Karahi includes the word "Capsicum". I confused this with "capsaicin" and expected it to be spicy. It was not. The Karahi was decent, but not exciting. The vegetables aren't cooked as fully as we have seen in other Indian restaurants, so they still have some crunch. This is good or bad depending on your preferences. (I didn't prefer it this way) The methi and garlic naan was tasty. Nothing to remark on. The Punjabi batura is a fried bread. It was very tasty and I have not seen this elsewhere. We laughed at the restroom situation. The soap dispenser had come off the wall and was lying on its side on the counter. The restaurant provided a free-standing pump dispenser, but they left the nonfunctional wall-mounted dispenser sitting on the counter anyway. They noticed the nonfunctional soap dispenser, so why not get rid of it. The seating was very uncomfortable. They have some booths to the left of the door (as you enter), but the backs are so severely straight that they're uncomfortable. We ultimately moved to the other end of the room which has regular chairs, but the backs are mostly absent, so they're uncomfortable too. I think that the chairs aren't as bad as the booth seating.

I've been on tiffintok for a while on TikTok so that creator has really gotten me craving some Indian food. Just getting back from a music festival and wanting something nourishing and delicious. Zaiqa really hit the spot for one of the first curries we will have this fall. Their vindaloo has so many warm spices and paired with the lamb that was super tender and delicious. They said it was spicy but my tolerance is pretty high so you can be the judge on your own but it's definitely tasty. My husband had the tikka masala and it was really great. He makes it a bunch at home and I know when he makes it next time it's going to be even better because he can add in the notes that we really enjoyed here. Of course we had to enjoy it with their garlic naan which the waiter helped us decide the best tandoori bread to go with it. Such a nice and perfect meal. Definitely will come again and get some Mango Lassi too. (Side note - they're also on DoorDash and do a happy hour special so you can get a delivery discount too).

Onion Bhaji and Vegetable Samosa and Tamarind Sauce and Mint Chutney.

TLDR: slow service, reheated food, actually inedible pakora, overall very poor quality food. They 1000% need a better chef. Pros: gluten free and vegan options were super clearly labeled on the menu which is great. Plenty of gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, and omni options. Cons: the food and chai were awful. I am not a picky eater, if I can dip it in tamarind chutney I will eat it, but the onion pakora was absolutely inedible, it was bitter and almost tasted rancid. My husband's samosa was so hard he couldn't break through it to let the steam out. It had clearly all been made much earlier and reheated. The chai my husband had took 25 minutes to come out and was obviously some powdered mix with way too much milk and he decided it wasn't worth drinking. The service took a long time despite being a very slow day with only 3 tables. Also the music was horrible. I love most of the music from India that I have heard and this was just awful hip hop type Punjabi music according to my husband but it just was not the vibe. I would love to try this place again some day if they got a new chef or new recipes or ingredients but it was truly not edible food.

Food, service and ambience of this new Indian restaurant in Lake Oswego area is top notch. The family and I discovered it on our way home and decided to try it out for dinner. If you're a Indian cuisine person, this place is definitely worth the effort.

I'm not gonna question where the heck did my review go to but let me rewrite it again…read more Sultan the Flaming Tandoor is probably the best if not the only Indian Cuisine in the Sherwood area. The food is delicious and the flavors in their curries and other dishes are spectacular. My personal favorite is the Khorma (my memorable dish as my friend Akash would say) every time I could come and either order out or dine in. Akash is the tall guy that works there. Friendly and attentive he always asks how is the food and my response to him is always the same- Wonderful! Some of our other favorites are the Chicken Biryani (very generous portions dine in or takeout), the Korma, butter masala, goat masala and garlic cheese naan (yum)! I also love his they use reliable stainless steel bowls and cups for serving your food and drinks in.

We wanted to have a great source of high-quality and great tasting Indian food nearby. All expectations were high. The reviews were even good to support the expectations. We knew it would be pricey and had the proper expense expectations. Maybe it was an off night. Maybe it was a long weekend and the Sunday night crew was tired. Maybe the ingredient delivery is on Mondays. We ordered the classics - the butter chicken, the aloo palak, chicken tikka masala, etc. - dishes we've had hundreds of times from hundreds of other restaurants (and pubs) so we're very familiar with good, great, and mediocre. Each dish looked the part, but was severely lacking flavor, which is an incredibly surprising thing to say when describing Indian food. While this is indeed a very subjective judgment, the same opinion was shared by our whole table, and even when leftovers were sampled the day after with an opportunity to better infuse, the same judgment awarded. Where was the flavor? Where were the spices? We asked these questions for every dish received. Expectations shattered. As for other criteria, ambience was average for a strip mall dine in restaurant, and with only one waiter, there was significant delay when it got busy - especially with their takeout/delivery demand. So, our search continues for a local solution to satisfy our Indian food fix. Suggestions welcome!

If anyone knows which stores carry this item in town, let me know ASAP Food: - The trio of chutney is addicting. The papadums are so crunchy and fun to eat. They're like thin crackers that compliment the chutneys well. The green chutney was especially herbaceous and I liked that - The pork vindaloo was superb. The braised pork fell off the bones effortlessly, and the toasted rolls did a good job of absorbing the curry. I know vindaloo is considered a curry but this dish doesn't taste like a typical curry, it's more like a stew with braised pork in it Ambience: - The outdoor seating is huge, lots of space. Great for big gatherings and a group setting of 5-10 - The décor is gives off an rustic Indian cabin with a scrappy vibe - The space is large for indoor seating too Overall: This kind of reminds me of an Indian style pocha place. We have been here twice now and we have figured out what is good and what isn't. The ambiance is…read moresuper fun! It has an elevated dhaba feel to it. The walls are covered with random photos of people and families from the 1970s, signs that one might see in public places in India, a rickshaw meter at the entrance and carrom board tables. The whole place is run by non-Indians so you get a feeling that this is their interpretation of an Indian dhaba. We've ordered the chicken curry thali, the paneer curry, batata vada, pav bhaji, paneer Kati rolls, chicken salad bowl, crispy cauliflower, and the ginger lime soda over the course of our visits. The Thali comes with a dal, roti, rice, raita, salad and a sambar type curry. I have enjoyed the chicken curry way more than the paneer curry. The paneer curry is sweeter and more bland than I'd like. The chicken curry has a bigger flavor profile with a slight spicy kick. The crispy cauliflower was very good but I think this is a special so it may not always be available. The batata vada pav is actually very good but I really would like them to give us the chutney separately so that we decide how much chutney to add. As of now, the vada is smothered with chutneys, which hides the flavors of the vada. Also note that the buns are not like the Indian pav. They are burger buns. The pav bhaji has a tomato soup powder flavor to it, so it looks exactly like a pav bhaji should, but is overwhelmingly tomato flavored. The buns don't give you the same satisfaction that the buttered Indian pav gives. The Kati rolls are filled with more veggies, particularly the purple cabbage, than paneer or chicken. That is not how Kati rolls should be. Purple cabbage is not a thing in Indian food, so this felt like a salad rolls with the wrong veggies. The chicken bowl is actually decent so we liked this. The ginger lime soda is quite nice too. Overall, I would recommend this place for the decor, the vada, the Thali and their specials.
