The staff in the temecula office does a good job with my dental care. They are very helpful especially when I've had some difficult situations with one of my dental crowns and they have worked with me on insurance. I do however have a few issues with zak dental overall. My first issue is that they only have a dentist in the office a couple days a week in Temecula which means a lot of work can only be done on those days which is very inconvenient. My second issue is that they really hound you to write these reviews. I got text & emailed asking me to write this review but what was totally over the top was that someone actually called and asked me to write this review. I'm found this to be very rude and disrespectful of my time please stop calling people to ask them to write reviews this is very bad policy. If the Temecula staff weren't so helpful and friendly this would have been more like a 2 star review because of my 2 issues. read more

I have been to this office twice in the past 2 months, all during COVID-19. First for a cleaning, impressions, and fillings then second time for night guard fitting. Both times were very professional and they had me in and out in no time. They are taking every precaution necessary to minimize the risk of transmission during these times and staying very professional as always! Highly recommend this office. I also didn't have any dental insurance when I first went in for tooth pain and their in house dental plan is pretty comparable to any other plan. It's 2 cleanings a year (every 6 months) and doctors visit plus they cover around half the cost of procedures. read more

In an effort to get my toddler excited for his first dentist visit, I planned an exciting day based around our experience (getting out of school, trip to the cookie place for being such a Big Boy) then the dentist office cancels with no explanation whatsoever via a text message. Where to begin... I have battled with a lifetime of bad experiences with dentists that left me with anxiety so severe that I would have to take Valium just to get to a dentists office and not be in tears. In the last couple of years, I've been able to steadily overcome that fear leaving me with only tentative and fleeting feelings of panic at the smells and sounds of the office itself. Then I went to a dentist who shall not be named as to not dwell in darkness. It reignited my fears because I was just a number - not a person who needed a personal touch. So, I stopped going...and then things got bad. Real bad. So, I looked online at dentists who accept Medi-CAL then cross-referenced those listings with the reviews on Yelp and landed on this group. The reviews were stellar and let me say: THEY ARE WELL DESERVED. The moment I arrived, I was put at ease. The staff were thoughtful, patient, considerate, and, most importantly: GENTLE. I am currently dealing with a rather significant infection in one tooth and the x-ray tech went out of her way to wrap gauze around those hard, sharp plastic trays they stick in your mouth. She warned me each time she thought she *MIGHT* cause me pain. I was truly helped. Then, I had my virtual appointment this morning with Dr. Maysam and I cannot be more pleased. He was kind, thorough and immediately made me feel like this was a problem with a solution. He worked quickly to develop a treatment plan that would serve all of my needs - not just the immediate ones - and ensured that I would be able to manage the financial aspect of such an undertaking. I feel relieved. I have never - and I stress *NEVER* - been excited to go to the dentist, but after the treatment I've received at Dr. Zaks Dental Group, I can honestly say I am excited to work with this team. If that doesn't convince you to come here, nothing I say will do it. UPDATE: I just finished having two teeth extracted and I cannot stress this enough - this is the best dentist I've ever been to see. It took them less than half the time to do two teeth than it took my last dentist to do one. I'm absolutely floored. Dr. Rivero amd Joyce were exceptional both in their professionalism and their care and concern for MY experiences as a patient with severe anxiety with the dentist. I'm stunned and so full of gratitude for their compassion and speed in this ordeal. I also want to give a shoutout to Dr. Iwata who was more concerned with my experience than any other factor. So often, medical professionals allow their egos to drive, but I deeply appreciate his willingness to acknowledge his own limits and his desire for this to be as painless as possible for me. His honesty and humility have made me a patient for life (or at least as long as I'm in the area). Also a special thank you to Jen at the front desk. I literally came here three days in a row - once for an exam, then fillings, then a cleaning. Dr. Tasic is very nice, and the team here is great. They make an effort to get to know patients and seem to genuinely care about your teeth. The only reason I give four stars is because for my fillings and cleaning, I waited over 30 minutes after my appointment time just to be seen. So sad I am in my early 30's & no longer on my parents insurance as this has been the WORST dental office I have ever encountered. There is ALWAYS a problem. They say they will call with information about certain specialist and time and dates I can go, I receive no phone calls. I tell them, they say they will call, still no calls. Woman on the zoom calls tells me multiple times I need to make a $600 payment before I can make an appointment, never tells me the dates or times or info on who I'm paying. Anytime I make an appointment with the "general call center" I go in & the time is wrong. I've been on the phone with them all morning after my insurance approved a prior authorization for something I had an appointment for tomorrow, I received 5 back to back calls today of them letting me know the dentist won't do it because it's "out of her scope of practice". Unfortunately I will have to shop for a new dentist. Their new scheduling system and call center are too much. Here's there process now: -Go in for X-rays -then schedule a virtual appt. on another day with the dentist So they can tell you what type of cleaning and if you need dental work. -then schedule a day for cleaning and another day for dental work because it's really tough to get same day work for some odd reason. Ughh -now if you need to call the office unfortunately you can't because they have a call center somewhere overseas that will not connect you directly. So it's a whole mess. You call the call center then they call the office and hopefully you get a call back sometime this year. -you also get assigned a treatment coordinator. Now once that happens that's the only person you can basically talk too. And hopefully they are good at communicating because the one I have I've emailed 2 x's in the last two weeks to try and schedule my sons cleaning and it's crickets. No response!!!! Called and left a message on her voicemail and still no response.this has definitely been a frustrating experience to say the least. Oh also they expect payment for services not yet rendered. When you make the appt for any dental work you have to pay for the work in order to get an appointment for the work to be done. Or else you don't get the appt. Someone must have really stiffed them because they are very strict with that. Pre COVID this office was great but now their process is just terrible. People work and can't take 5 days off here and there to get dental work for themselves and their family. We are a family of 4, 2 of them being kids so we as parents have to take them to each of these appointments too. So I have to take time off for my stuff and my kids. The stars I left were for the office staff and hygienist which are amazing. But other than that it's just impossible to stay with them now. To be fair I did bring my concerns up to the dentist and they don't see any changes being made to their process anytime soon. read more

I was super pleased they were able to get me in so quickly since I was a walk in. This is a very busy office but it was definitely worth the wait. The new staff (Karina & Shanttel) were so welcoming. The electronic system made everything a lot quicker! I had some trouble understanding my dental benefits and what was covered but they made it crystal clear on what was most important for me to get done first while understanding my finances but they allowed for me to choose my appointments on with what worked in my budget. I've been a patient of Temecula Dental Group for more than 20 years! Now that Dr. Zak has taken over the practice I can say it has become more professional and up to date with computer technology along with friendly and professional staff. Doctor's and dental assistants are first class. I recently had a tooth (molar) that cracked off and needed an urgent app for a permanent crown! The office followed all the proper CDC guidelines a long with proper aseptic technique in preventing the spread of the COVID-19. I felt that my health and safety was their number one priority. If you are happy with never getting your records or speaking with anyone on the phone, or getting responses to requests this place is for you. The team a the Temecula office are quite nice, but totally inefficient on follow through. They know nothing about your account as it's all handled by corporate. If you prepay for a program, good luck getting detail on where you stand and what is being billed against the prepayment. They do not answer, they do not respond, they do not understand, But, they keep sending emails/texts to make an appointment (that I have already had). I have asked for a refund of my unused prepayment. It's been three months and no information sent to me. I will go to a dentist where someone answers the phone and has my information and I know who will be working on me. read more

RUN FROM THIS PLACE! I have been to many many dentists in my life and this place is god-awful. I created a list of all the things that they did wrong, but suffice it to say that it is practically a novel. The front staff was nice, but the actual dental work I had was a joke, and then they became less than kind when it came to resolving it. I had a root canal and a crown put on. The crown wasn't done right, and there was a visible gap between my gums. They didn't notice. After I pointed it out, they said "oh yea, that shouldn't be like that". I had to spend another horrible day in the chair getting another one put on. That was ALSO NOT DONE INCORRECTLY. There was still a tiny space, but I assumed stupidly that, it MUST be good enough at this point. I couldn't even get them to check it months later to see that the infection had gone away, without having to make a $50 appt with the specialist. They did a basic x-ray, and told me in a less than confident way "looked like it was subsiding", not very reassuring considering its an infection in my head. Skip forward a couple years, and I had another dentist check it as it still didn't feel right. He said it either wasn't done properly or it wasn't the correct action to take. Now I have to have the tooth removed, and surgery to have an implant put in. Easily going to cost 5k. I thought Zak's was a good value, but please take my advice, go somewhere else as it will cost less in the long-run. read more

The call went well and I was clearly informed on how the process of things would work. CAUTION!!!! I've been coming here for about 6 years now Sometimes their staff is nice sometimes they can be very rude and obnoxious with very long wait times, but when it comes to this office THEY DO SHADY STUFF WHEN IT COMES TO THE INS. COMPANY AND THEY LIE A LOT TO THEIR PATIENTS! they have told me that there are certain procedures that are not covered by my insurance company which they are they will purposely file a different procedure codes so it'll get denied so we have to pay out of pocket!!! I have been trying for months to get reimbursed for something that is covered under my insurance, and that they refuse to submit the correct procedure code and they're trying to tell me on the crown for me it's not covered which it is covered I even called them with the correct procedure code and they refuse to submit it now they have just been avoiding me and sending SPAM EMAILS. Not only can I not get Adriana the coordinator to call me back I can't even get the office manager to call me back I have called since February 2022 - September 6 2022 I have called over 50 times and not once call back. I am so disappointed In the overall experience with this office. First, I was told to text a number once I was there for "curbside check in" so they can check my temp. before entering the building. I text, and called...... no one ever answered. I went to the office to find out what the delay was and a dental assistant opened the door rudely, asking if I text.... I explained to her that I did and received no response. She then took me in and started pulling my information up. The first thing I noticed was that the office is SUPER old school..... it was very outdated, it just seemed like they needed to update everything... paper files everywhere, just not up to par with the most recent technology. I was then taken back for my "appointment". They asked me to wash my hands, and rinse with hydrogen peroxide (which was gross). They cleaned the counter after I did all that, and took me back for x rays and pictures. After that process, I was waiting for direction to the next room for cleaning. They actually told me then that I wouldn't get a cleaning..... they needed a virtual appointment to be completed before they could clean my teeth.......... UMMMMMMMM how come no one told me this when I was booking my appointment ?! I asked when the next virtual appointment was and they said 2 weeks from today. Another UMMMMMMM...... and then I would get my teeth cleaned a couple weeks after that??? Ok well thank you for everything but I will absolutely not be returning. There is no need to make one appointment into 3, I was literally going in for a check up and cleaning. The customer service was not good, and I'm actually extremely upset that they didn't tell me their set up in the first place, I wouldn't have wasted my time and theirs to go in and get x rays done.
