Good in a pinch! I made my way to Zalat Pizza on a day when I was absolutely famished. A long travel day and ninety-degree heat had me well on my way to hangry-ville. Thank goodness Zalat Pizza was in walking distance of my hotel. Let me start by saying that the staff were delightful. Everyone was friendly and helpful to me as a first time visitor. I really wanted to love the pizza at Zalat but it was sadly mediocre at best. I ordered a cheese pizza and everything from the crust to the toppings landed on the wrong side of "good." I'm not certain if my pizza was overcooked, or if that's the standard, but I'm sad to say I was not a fan. Would I go back? So disappointed in this place ordered a sausage and pepperoni pizza and lemon pepper wings for delivery. I did not receive what I ordered. Instead I received some type of pineapple and olive pizza, that we had no desire to eat. On top of that, they put your containers of sauce or dip on top of the pizza which was not hygienic at all. I wanted to try a new pizza place and read good things about Zapatista via Yelp. For starters, they have multiple locations throughout the Metroplex. Closest one to me was South Dallas. I wanted to order online and get half Buffalo Chicken & half Sweet revenge. I couldn't figure out how to do it online so I called. The gentleman I spoke to said he was having a real hard time hearing me. I couldn't figure out why an knew he would just hang up on me. Surprisingly he suggested a call back an really did try his best to make out my issue. I c/b and another man answered. He was just as helpful even though my phone was breaking up on him too. He said that both pizzas have to have the SAME SAUCE base in order to do half and half. I ended up purchasing 2 separate pizzas (which I really hated I had to do an reason for not a 5 star review.) The man at the window was real quick and friendly in giving me my order. It was a severe thunderstorm while I was picking up and the lights inside were flickering and the wind was howling! I appreciated him when he said, "Be safe out there." He could look out and see the severity of the weather and I appreciate his concern. The pizzas were fantastic! This place is amazing. One of the tastiest pizzas I have ever tried. I got the hottie which is a pepperoni Jalapeño pizza with tabasco sauce and spicy marinara. I am a spicy girl so I can handle the heat, but if spice is not for you can try a different option because there is plenty to choose from. I came here with friends and they all had a different pizza and raved about how delicious they were. This place will re open soon, so when it does you should really try it out. I love the fact that they serve beef pepperoni! That's what easily makes this pizzeria a top contender in my book for all the non pork eaters. The pizza is always really good and I love how you can get them NY style (large, thin slices). Just two things I dislike...1) the wait is always long. No matter what size pizza you get it's typically 30-40mins no matter the time or day. 2) this was today only but the pizza was surprisingly greasier than it usually is. I found myself using a whole roll of paper towels trying to soak up the grease and 2 slices still managed to make my stomach hurt. But overall great pizza and I am not a ranch dipper but the Sriracha ranch sauce they put in the boss is amazing and just an added speciality. It comes with all pizzas so it is free of cost. This Zalat location is attached to Mac's Southside bar and sometimes you have to enter through the bar and order there. Wow. This used to be a go-to spot, but in the past few months, the service has gone way downhill. The last four time we have placed orders were disasters. The first time, they did not include the salad we ordered. The second time, they were out of salad containers, and despite the fact that we paid for a large salad, we got two teeny to-go containers instead. The third time, the orders weren't ready at pick up and we had to wait 20 minutes later than the scheduled time. This last time was the straw that broke the camel's back. We showed up at the scheduled pickup time (4:15) and there were no employees to be found, just customers wandering around waiting for anyone. I called the location and spoke to the manager, Michael, who extremely brusque in his response for someone whose staff was unprepared for orders that had been placed with hours of advance notice. He said that he would be back in "three minutes" and after 10 minutes of waiting, we never saw him again. We ended up having to leave and cancel the order to make it to our event on time-- empty handed. We won't be returning to this location and certainly hope that other locations have better management, service, staff, and attention to detail. read more

We ordered drinks then our pizza. We played Golden Tee then when we wanted to play pool the change machine didn't work and then they only had 8 quarters to give us for pool. Ordered 2 pies- the margarita and the crave pizza. Both were delicious!! The Siracha sauce is awesome!! We asked for light pepper but we felt there was still too much pepper on the crave pizza. Flavors were great, delivery on time. Deducted one star bc we asked for plates and napkins and we didn't get any. Also I feel that for a 20% ($9.41) tip, plus a $5.49 delivery fee, I shouldn't also have to pay a service fee of $2.49. $17.41 in fees is ridiculous. Probably some of that is the fault of seamless.
