A True Hidden Gem in Oak Cliff! This pizza spot that's been quietly serving up amazing pies since 1989. The pizza here is delicious--the flavor is spot-on, and the toppings are fresh and generous. The crust was super thin, I tend to prefer a thicker crust but it still had great flavor and a nice crisp texture. Service was outstanding! The staff is friendly, welcoming, and makes you feel right at home. You can tell they take pride in what they do. I did not see any seats for dining inside, just an array of very beautiful plants and a couple seats were you can wait for a pizza. As for parking I only saw front-facing parking spots, and you've got to back out into traffic to leave. Not ideal, but it's a small price to pay for such great pizza. read more

Good points: small independent neighborhood pizza place, quick, low priced, very nice staff. Bad points: the pizza wasn't very good. I'm not here to bag on Home Run Pizza just to bag on it ... just to give an objective review. So I give it a middle of the road 3 Star ranking. My only disappointment was the pizza. I have worked in pizza restaurants for over twenty years and this was honestly one of the least enjoyably pizzas I've ever eaten. I find it hard to complain about a pizza at such a reasonable price, but I guess this is a case of you get what you pay for. The crust was perfectly baked but paper thin. (Imagine a crust about 1/3 the thickness of a standard NY style pizza). The amount of sauce was hardly discernible. What was there didn't add much flavor. The cheese was adequate but not very good. Of the ingredients the mushrooms and Canadian bacon were good, but the black olives had a strange texture I found disagreeable. To sum it up, based on only one experience, I can't really recommend this Home Run pizza. Other folks seem to like it so I'll respect there opinions, but I'll keep looking. read more

This hole-in-the-wall pizza spot off Jefferson is unassuming and humble, but don't let its exterior deter you! We loved the thin crust style pizza and we tried the Grand Slam special which is like their version of a supreme. We also got a side of garlic knots and they were soft and extra garlicky! Just a great pie, all around. Thin crust, basic cheese and tomato sauce--it tastes like the pizzas you remember from backyard birthday parties when you were a kid. Now, I love a nice fancy pie from fancy pizza joints like Cane Roso and Eno's, but if you want a classic delivery taste and don't really want dominos/papa hut/pizza johns, Homerun absolutely delivers. Try the garlic knots, too--I normally don't care for knots at other pizza places, but the garlic butter they use for those is fabulous, and like another reviewer said, you get a ton so they're great if you're ordering for a crew of people. read more

We have been looking for a good pizza place in north oak cliff for quite some time now. Since the place on Davis that started with a Z closed down. Man, we loved that place so much! Sooo, we picked up two pizzas last night and were so incredibly surprised and happy, delighted, every positive adjective you can think of! This pizza is legit and I do not say that lightly. We are pizza connoisseurs, at least in our own minds, haha. This is true New York style pizza. CRUST - on point! Simple, nothing fancy, absolutely perfect! I sat and wondered if it might taste better with garlic or something else on it but nope, it needed nothing. That's when you know it's right. SAUCE - Pizza sauce to me should not be too sweet or too savory and this one fit the bill. Perfectly balanced. CHEESE - we typically eat just cheese pizza. Why mess with perfection? And this had just the right amount of cheese. I think it's safe to say that we have found our new pizza spot in our little city within a city. Oh, and the prices are sooo incredibly good. It's baffling to me that this business rarely answers their phone in the evening. Call for lunch and they answer right away and deliver almost as fast. Call for dinner and call again and call again, but nothing. It's like calling a radio station in the 1980s to win some hokey prize. After several failed attempts over the past few years, we tried again tonight.....still nothing. :( Please hire more staff, sign up for Door Dash/Uber Eats, or just answer the friggin phone, PLEASE!! While visiting a friend in OC she ordered from homerun pizza. I'm not a fan of pizza but then I guess I never had the right pizza. They dont add too much tomatoe sauce, they make it thin crust but you can have it made thick crust. They are generous with the toppings. Best of all the price. I have never been so baffled and misled by a Yelp rating in my life! If this is considered five-star pizza by Dallas residents then I feel really, really sorry for them because it means that they have never had real pizza. :( While visiting here from Southern California I was told that there is no really good pizza here...I decided to see for myself and they were right. Simply put, this is on the same level as Domino's and Pizza Hut except not as good. If I declare Pizza Hut to be better than or as good as ANY other pizza then that is saying something. This is the kind of pizza that you order for a kid's party because kids don't have standards or for office parties because it's super cheap and people don't complain quite as much when the food is free. On the upside, to me, pizza is okay even if it's bad. This isn't the worst pizza I have ever had but it is NOT by any stretch of the imagination five-star pizza or even three-star pizza. It's typical, plain crust and cheese (which tastes like Pizza Hut cheese). The breadsticks...those were actually inedible. They had the consistency of breadsticks that have been cooked, refrigerated/cooled and then microwaved. If you have ever eaten microwaved bread then you know what I mean. Chewy but not in a good way and tough (my jaw hurt after eating one). Also, they don't come with sauce, you have to pay extra. The sauce didn't help things, either. It's just watery tomato slush. As far as location and parking...kind of a sketchy area and parking is confusing and a bit of a hassle so if you really want to eat the pizza here then delivery might be better. The employees were so very nice here that I feel horrible giving a poor rating but there is no sense in being dishonest as it serves no one--least of all, potential customers. read more
