I have been a customer of the Signet family (Zales/Gordon's) for nearly 30 years, but my recent experience at the Tucson Mall Zales has been a masterclass in poor ethics and systemic failure. 1. The "Vanishing" Warranty & Staff Dishonesty After my local Broadway store closed without notice, I visited this location for a missing diamond. An associate originally acknowledged that I had never been properly informed of the 6-month inspection requirement and verbally committed to honoring the warranty. Relying on this, I left my ring. A week later, they called to demand $425. When confronted, the Sales Associate had the audacity to vehemently deny the conversation--a conversation my husband was present to witness and offered me a 10% discount due to some event they were having. 2. The "Misleading" Communications On March 16th, I received an official email: "Your ring is ready for pickup." I drove 45 minutes across town, only for the staff to not know where my ring was. They searched drawers for several minutes before finding it. Their excuse? "Our emails are misleading" even though it says in clear bold letters "Your Ring Is Ready For Pickup" 3. Failed Repairs & Dismissive Treatment Despite a lengthy conversation about my rings being originally soldered together backwards when they did the initial soldering in 2019, the ring was returned not unsoldered as it should have been. When I asked to inspect the replacement diamond, the staff was dismissive, failing to explain how they guarantee the quality of a replacement stone. 4. The Fake "Rush" Service After their failure to unsolder the ring, they promised a "rush" repair. However, my ring sat in a drawer for an entire week. On March 23rd, I called and was told it was already at the repair center. Today, March 25th, their tracking site finally updated to show it was only just shipped today. When I questioned the delay, I was told their own tracking website is "misleading." 5. The Gordon's Jewelers Legacy Issue To top it off, they claim to have "no record" of my 1998 Gordon's engagement ring (a Signet brand). Their solution? Charge me $300+ for a protection plan that covers metal only and explicitly excludes diamonds. They are effectively holding a lifetime guarantee hostage because of their own failure to migrate corporate data. Bottom Line: Do not trust the verbal promises, the automated emails, or the tracking website of this store. If you value your jewelry and your sanity, take your business to a jeweler that values integrity over "misleading" excuses. read more

I started dealing with zales it will be two years in december. My husband got my first ring that he proposed with. It was a beautiful ring until you really started looking at it. Then you've seen the many imperfections. At that time, we decided to go for a more expensive ring. We got the new ring and was suggested to have it.Soldered with the band. They messed up my ring so many times I cannot count. Now, we're going on over a year of me, not having a ring throughout my whole marriage because it has been in the zel's workshop off and on the entire time. The last ring was messed up so bad by the jewelers that they had to give me a replacement ring. I was so excited to have a ring that wasn't messed up. My first time, having it sized, and we're already dealing with issues. The people at the stores have no sympathy and do not care. They do not care that I did not have a ring on my wedding day. They do not care that my husband walks around with a ring, and I do not have a ring, and it seems like i'm walking around with a married man. People look at me silly when I say that, we're married. I have had the worst experience with zales. I do not recommend either location any location in tucson. I've dealt with many managers.Chelsea was the first to really mess things up. I even had one of the ladies looking at my ring, telling me how beautiful it was. And then had another person that works there. Telling me that it was messed up and that it needed to be fixed and then she agreed she knew the entire time there were imperfections, but she was not going to speak up. This was at the oracle location. To add-on to all of this, I was sold a rapunzel ring, and not even told that It was part of the Disney set. What If I didn't like Disney? What if I couldn't stand rapunzel? What if I didn't like cartoons at all?! Luckily, I do like rapunzel, and that worked out for me because they wouldn't have done anything to make it right. Just like they're not doing anything to make this right.They want me to send my ring back to the jewelers that have messed up my ring for almost two years. Mind youThe ring that was just replaced because of the last ring that the jewelers had messed up so bad that it was not able to be worked on anymore.That it literally had to be replaced. Would you want to give your brand new ring back after you already gave them one chance with it after they had messed up the last two before that!!! No I highly doubt that I just want my money back, but we'll see how this goes. I guess I'll write another review about that read more

Long story short, my daughter lost my necklace. She went to this store inside Tucson mall! She bought the "insurance". I broke the chain! Went in to see if they can help me with fixing of the chain, they give a choker instead of my 24 inches. When I asked the was not the same thing! The lady manager yield at me ( it's free what do you want) it wasn't free, she paid for insurance! So till this day I can't do anything with the "GIFT" still broken and was ashamed in front of everyone in the store read more

I wanted to give a big "Thank You!" to Melinda and the staff at Zales (in the Tucson Mall)! After sizing my engagement ring (on a rush order, they delivered it at the time promised), it came back with one of the stones a little out of whack. Melinda said she'd hurry to get it to the jeweler and back (before my guy and I both left town). We both ended up leaving earlier than planned, but when I called Melinda and explained to her that we were telling our families the good news that weekend (at his dad's house in South Dakota), she shipped it to the store in Rapid City so we could have it in time! Tried to pick up my jewelry and they had everything closed up. I was told they close at 7p so I raced over with 20 min to spare to obtain my purchase. I was told by the staff I can come back tomorrow at 11a! I mentioned it would be an inconvenience and still not able to obtain my jewelry! This was an online order but about a year ago my husband bought me two pairs of fabulous diamond earrings. He has the certificate and everything, the woman who helped him at the store told him this was high quality diamonds and if he wanted to save a little bit on them he could go online and save a percentage of the sale. I was in awe and he was very excited he could afford them. He paid about $900. I took them to a jeweler yesterday to tighten the setting and get them cleaned and she tested them three ways saying they were FAKE! and as a total they only amounted to $200 MAX. We were floored. I researched plenty of sources and Zales is apparently known to sell fake stones. I would be warned if I were you. Do not support this company. read more

I initially was not happy when I was assisted the first time. I was looking for an item under $100.00 for my boss and the first woman who helped me showed me a couple things then referred me to a kiosk that sold cheap jewelry, it sort of made me feel disposable. On her advice I left to see what the kiosk had and was not happy with the options there. I returned to Zales one last time which I was passing on my way to Kay jelwelers. The second woman, I believe her name was Evelyn, was amazing. She immediately told me "Not to worry, we're going to find something that works for you " She showed me both earrings and necklaces and I easily found something perfect and made a purchase. She gift wrapped my item patiently and updated my contact info all while talking and staying engaged with me even as the store was flooding with other shoppers. Her customer service and ability to make me feel like a valued customer will bring my business back. That's how a customer should be treated and she was outstanding. She should be promoted and set aside an example for the standard of care expected from their staff. I would definitely recommend Zales as they have great selection, great deals, and aside from the initial employee....stellar customer service! read more

Wedding ring NIGHTMARE. My fiance bought me my dream ring from Zales and after about 2 months of wearing it, the entire center halo (not the diamond, the halo) was loose. The sales ladies had never seen anything like it and assumed it might be an issue with how the ring was made... IT WAS DEFECTIVE. But the manager claimed I had somehow broken the halo, although there was never any damage to any other part of the ring that would have supported that statement. So to not make a scene and just get it over with, and get my ring back asap in time for our wedding, we went ahead and just paid for the repair (even though we knew it wasnt damage I had made to the ring) The repair was quoted to us at no more than $50 and ended up being a little over $200. Long story short, their idea of repairing the ring was to pour GOLD over my ROSE GOLD halo in one corner. ... so my ROSE GOLD RING... now has a huge GOLD DARK SPOT and it looks horrendous. I am so bummed about this situation and will be going back next week to see how they will fix this situation. Also. The customer service is horrible. They treat you as if you were some poor trash lugging into their store and THEY are doing YOU a service by lazily showing you rings. read more
