Drew, Alex, and Kate were all outstanding from start to finish. They were fair, clear, and upfront about scope, timeline, and budget from the very first walkthrough. No surprises, no hidden costs, no vague answers. When we asked detailed questions about framing, tile installation, and material compatibility, they answered with confidence and honesty -- including telling us when something wouldn't work or wasn't worth the spend. That kind of transparency is rare. The design documentation alone set them apart. Kate put together detailed material specifications, as-built plans, new floor plans, tile wall elevations, and full-color mood boards before a single tile was laid. Everything was organized, professional, and gave us complete clarity on what the finished rooms would look like. It made decision-making so much easier and eliminated the anxiety that comes with a major renovation. What impressed us most was how collaborative the entire process felt. Drew and Alex weren't just executing a plan -- they were thinking alongside us, offering suggestions that elevated the design, flagging potential issues before they became problems, and making sure every detail was right. They treated our home with respect and our vision with care. I did EXTENSIVE research before hiring Eastside Kitchen & Bath. They exceeded expectations. No crazy/scary remodel stories you hear -- if you have an older home in Seattle and want a team that understands the character of these houses while delivering a high-quality result -- Eastside Kitchen & Bath is who you want. We couldn't recommend Drew, Alex, Kate and the entire crew more highly.

I don't remember who I spoke to but I do remember that he said I would likely not choose them because they wouldn't be the cheapest. I don't know how or why he came to that conclusion in our brief phone conversation, but I told him I wasn't looking for the "cheapest", I was looking for the best solution. He scheduled a visit and did some measurements and we discussed possible options. I also let him know I was interested in kitchen redesign so that I could have a bigger fridge but he didn't seem interested and just went back to the powder room. When he was done, he said it would take about two weeks for a quote but I may need to reach out to him again. I asked if he had a card and he said no, then left. That was on June 11 and now it's July 28. If a business wants my business, they would send a quote. Maybe my little job isn't worth their time because business is booming, who knows. When your gut tells you they aren't interested, listen to your gut.

We bought unbuilt cabinets and had a contractor family/friends do the install. they look awesome. Sophie at Pius actually drew out the cabinet plans and they came out amazing. My only negative (which doesn't effect their rating for me) is that the pick up process from their warehouse is annoying - they have one worker processing the pickups who was very unprofessional. nonetheless, can't wait to use them again.

They provided guidance, creativity, and follow-up every step of the way. Their computer-generated kitchen plans and visual images were very helpful in assuring us that the design they described is what we wanted and in the price range we were looking for. Adrian was our assigned on-site contractor. He was phenomenal to work with. His knowledge, skill, reliability, and "easy-to-work-with" personality made the process from demo to project signoff a smooth and stress-free experience. Adrian and Vered never let any unforeseen or unexpected situation alter or delay project progress. They worked together to offer solutions and resolution in a timely manner. Adrian and one or two other helpers did most of the work themselves, so we were never waiting on subcontractors. The project started on time and finished on schedule. We could not have been more pleased with the results. We are very happy to have selected Lux Design Builds and highly recommend them for your upcoming remodel.

We hired Tub Cove for a bathroom remodel and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience from…read morestart to finish. From the outset, we raised concerns about the condition of the existing floor and flagged that the subfloor would need to be properly leveled before new flooring and the bathtub were installed. Despite this, Tub Cove's contractor declined to demo the old floor and instead installed the new flooring directly over the old linoleum, along with the new tub. This shortcut left a sizeable gap--large enough to fit a hand--between the tub and the floor. When we pointed out how unacceptable this was, the proposed "fix" was to glue a marble strip in front of the tub so "you'd never notice." Their own response was that photos on their website only show "perfect jobs," which was hardly reassuring. We insisted the issue be corrected. The workmanship throughout the project was inconsistent at best. Examples included: Sloppy drywall mudding that had to be redone. Gaps in trim work that were cut short and nailed in anyway. Caulking that was messy and clearly not watertight. The bathtub being damaged during installation that required repairs before it was even used due to demo work being done around the unprotected bathtub. Missing tile and incorrect estimates that caused delays. The tile work was subbed out and not done to expectations. They had to come back twice to address tile that was installed incorrectly or cracked. We also ended up doing significant drywall prep ourselves--work that was supposed to be included in the original scope of the contract. For this we were credited some money back. While one of their senior employees, Allen, was professional, efficient, and clearly skilled, he was brought in late in the project. If he had led the job from the start, things might have gone differently. On the business side, we also encountered troubling practices. Tub Cove repeatedly pressed us for progress payments even though our contract clearly stated final payment was due upon completion. After we did pay in full, we learned their subcontractor (Alex) had not been paid for our job, despite the funds being in Tub Cove's possession. This raised serious concerns about their financial management and created risk of a mechanic's lien on our home. We had to initiate a dispute through American Express to protect ourselves and ensure the subcontractor was made whole. Bottom line: We cannot recommend Tub Cove. The project was plagued by poor execution, shortcuts, and unprofessional handling of payments. We were advised at the outset that this work would take five days, which seemed ambitious. We expected two weeks. Instead, it took five weeks. If you are considering them, proceed with extreme caution--and insist on clear progress milestones, airtight contracts, and detailed oversight of their subcontractors.

They really care about the quality of their work and they were communicative throughout the whole process. Even when things ended up being more difficult than expected, they would handle it with good cheer and made very few changes to the initial estimate. And they cleaned the house so thoroughly every time they finished work! No stray tools or nails lying around, floors all protected, no dust. Random things happened during the remodel and they were super helpful even outside the scope of their work. our furnace broke when the temps dropped to 10 degrees. Late on a Friday evening, Vlad texted me how to handle it so we wouldn't damage the floors with the temperature drop, and was responsive even on the weekend as we got it repaired. My garage door broke as well and he gave me guidance on how to think about the repair. We feel we got tremendous value out of the work they did and would definitely work with them again. Our home went from being our starter home to a home we could see ourselves in for a long time!
