Run, don't walk, to come here. We live an hour away, over by Grapevine. Here for 24 hours for a business trip. We were roaming around the old courthouse Square downtown and stumbled upon this jewel. The atmosphere is really laid-back cool and their prices are quite fair. We split the bruschetta salad.. it was HUGE!! Very fresh with a wonderful, light dressing. The cheesy bread that comes with this salad is very good. Interestingly, it is served under the salad. For our entrée, we split the meatball lasagna. Again, a huge single portion, so splitting it was perfect. We have many terrific restaurants around us - Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake. However, this was one of the finest Italian meals we have had anywhere, including Little Italy in Boston. Everything was so flavorful and hearty. The garlic toast served with the lasagna was also excellent. By the way, the old-fashioned with Makers Mark bourbon was superb as well. Based on our first-time experience, there is nothing NOT to like about this establishment. I just wish the portions weren't so generous so that we might have had room for the coconut cream pie. BTW, Hailey is an excellent server.

What an incredible experience! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was absolutely adorable and felt truly authentic -- like a little slice of Italy right here locally. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and beautifully curated without trying too hard. The service was top-notch. Attentive and friendly server -- you can tell they care about every guest's experience. And the food... wow. By far some of the greatest Italian dishes we've had -- and that's saying a lot because we've traveled all over Europe. Every bite was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with quality ingredients and pride. If you appreciate delicious, high-quality food and a charming atmosphere, this place is a must. We will absolutely be back!

I recently visited Zanata in Rockwall, Texas for the first time, and it was a very enjoyable experience. It's the kind of place that immediately feels relaxing and inviting. I had ordered the pizza and blue crab dip, and I'm glad I did. It was flavorful and well cooked. The crust had a great texture, and everything came together nicely. I also tried one of their desserts the banana foster , which was a great way to finish the meal. The service was excellent from start to finish. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. again.

Came here for dinner on Friday after work. It's a small restaurant in downtown Rockwall. There was a 45 min wait around 5:20, so I recommend going early. Service was a little slow, but they were working fast for the crowd. No one working was just standing around. We got lucky and got to sit at the bar. We tried the bruschetta board was delicious. I wasn't a fan of the Gorgonzola, but only because I don't care for blue cheese, but the Mozzarella and Brie were great. I love the toppings on them. Pork chop was cooked perfectly and I loved the broccolini. Can we talk about the lobster risotto? Oh my. SO RICH and savory. The regulars, who come there often, that we spoke with were super friendly. The couple next to us shared that on Tuesday's they have a special for wine, pizza, and salad for $30. We will definitely go back.

I went for the steak. My date went for the pizza. We were both satisfied. The steak was well cooked, a nice medium well. It had a nice sear and was lightly seasoned. However, and I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing, it was topped with sautéed onions, mushrooms, and sun dried tomatoes. I would have liked something green (something firm like fresh green beans, or grilled asparagus) on my plate, though. The pizza was pretty good. The crust was tasty but I did think the pepperoni was a tad too salty. My date finished the whole thing. I haven't seen her eat that much (relatively) since she was a little girl. The restaurant has the potential to be loud but they've added some baffles in the ceiling. Our fellow diners weren't too crazy, though and the noise level was comfortable. Our server Rachel was friendly and attentive.

I came back with a small group, and we really enjoyed our dinner! I tried the seafood special: scallops with spaghetti squash and sugar snap peas in a basil sauce. It was amazing!

    Ask the Community - Zanata

    Wait list how long?

That answer is hit and miss in Rockwall with any restaurant. It'll be busy on any evening but weekends you can expect 30 to 45 minutes

Why is Yelps waitlist not honored at the restaurant?

I was introduced to the original Campisi's on Mockingbird over 50 years ago by my father. All other…read morepizza pales in comparison to what Campisi's delivers. My favorite? Large pizza with garlic and double mushroom. I also love their small side salads. You pay extra for Campisi's - but it will ruin you for other pizza. The only problem with this location is the parking situation. There's a movie theater practically next door and finding a space is kinda like The Hunger Games. People are always coming and going, so you have to circle around a few times before you can find a spot. During my most recent visit, I called in my order to pick up and when I got there, the gal at the register was struggling with my credit card. They sadly do not have Apple Pay. I hope this changes. I prefer contactless payments for fraud prevention. I have worked retail and I tried to show her how to properly swipe the card. She kept asking for another card, which I did not have. She turned to a colleague who swiped it correctly on the first attempt and she apologized for the trouble and gave me a free drink. When the weather is nice, they have outdoor seating with a covering canopy. Since moving out of Dallas, this is one of the closest Campisi's locations to where I live now, and having been to 5 of their locations, they are consistent with pizza quality throughout the chain. There was a dark period about 16-18 years ago when someone went full moron and decided to save money by switching to American Cheese. I am not kidding you. The pizza went from epic to inedible. I boycotted them for years until I was told by someone in the know that they had switched back to the original recipe. If you ate at a Campisi's during "the dark ages" when they made this switch, give them another chance. Because they're back to the original quality. I've had a lot of pizza in my life - but no one holds a candle to Campisi's. The crust. The sauce. The crispy crust. So many taste highlights and great texture. No other pizza comes close to them. None. Never soggy - AND by far, the best cold pizza I've ever had in my life. I always order more than I can eat. The rest goes in the fridge and I honestly don't even need to heat it up. It's great straight out of the fridge. They cut the pizza into long rectangles and this makes it much more manageable to eat - but they will cut it any way you prefer if you tell them when you order. Life on planet earth can be rough sometimes - but there's always Campisi's to brighten up the day.

3.5 to 4 stars Tasty pizza, almost looks like a flatbread…read moreshape. But don't tell the hubby that haha! He loves this pizza. I like it because both ingredients and quality of toppings are good. You wanna dine in? This location is not for that as others have pointed out. You have to kinda fight for inside seating because there are maybe like 5 small tables, so this is def a take out kind of place. No real waiter/waitress here. They just bring you your food and bye. Would be another star if they had more tables and actual servers. Some outside seating but when we went it was too hot for that. Now for me the star of the show was the Olive salad because I love love olives but being that no one else likes them I don't get to eat them as much. The Olive salad was olive joy!! Ask for the dressing on the side if you don't like soggy salad. So if you want a pretty good pizza with quality ingredients get yourself here. I like that it's never greasy.

We were going to try a pizza but we went with pasta dishes instead. She already had the lasagna before and ordered it again, I went with the chicken parmigiana. Both dishes were great, but I think I liked her lasagna better. Neither dish felt heavy even though it looked heavy. The food was just delicious. We had dinner for two on a Saturday night with no reservation and we were seated within 5 minutes. The service was probably one of the best I've experienced. The speed in which our meals came out was impressive; it came out hot and fresh. We got the Chicken Parmigiana and the Niko Special. The Niko Special was something of beauty, both visually and taste wise lol. The chef was on to something with that Vodka aurora sauce. It came with hot cherry peppers as well, but I didn't taste/feel the spice as much. The complimentary garlic rolls were amazing. My leftovers made for a second meal because of the generous portion size. Overall a great dining experience and such an extremely friendly staff. Kudos all around.
