For me, consistency is very important when going out for a meal. Simply put, Zanata is a Rockwall institution and probably the one place you should plan to eat if you only have one night in our small town. The window wall in the heart of Downtown Rockwall doesn't prepare you for the big city vibe inside, where tables are full every night from early until late. People come for the delicious apps, creditable wine list, diverse menu for everyone in the family, and indescribable ambiance of a place that really has to be experienced to be understood. I am so sad to post this review. Zanata's has amazing food. And usually amazing service. This past Friday night, a group of friends and I met up for dinner. One of my friends is dating a black man. While we were waiting for our table, my friends boyfriend went to the bar to grab some drinks. He stood there for what seemed like an eternity and was never served. He was practically ignored. Other people were served, some even came back for another drink and he was STILL ignored. He was the only African American in the restaurant during the time we were there. I'm super disappointed in this restaurant and they will lose all of us as customers. I can't believe this is still a thing. Heartbreaking. This obviously deserves ZERO stars. read more

This is a must if you're in the Rockwall area. The food is incredible. I usually have my go to at any restaurant and I rarely try anything else. This restaurant is an exception. Long wait, but the food is so good. Wish they had a bigger location where the wait wasn't so long and the tables didn't seem so crowded.

First time to dine here and won't be the last. I had the pork chop with the lobster risotto. Amazing! My husband had the Paella and also raves about it. Our children split a cheese pizza and gave it two thumbs up (their other pizza offerings looked really good too). For dessert we split the coconut cream pie and All raves about it. The worst customer service here, could care less about customer satisfaction. I had a overdone steak and asked the manager for a nice steak cooked it to my liking. He took the steak cut the steak and a couple pieces and actually return the same dish to me and said it looked fine for it to me, I even asked my waitress to exchange it, she asked her manager and he said no way. Zanata is one of the best restaurants in Rockwall. Food is consistently great and service is amazing. I've used their curb side pick up service several times and it's proven a nice option. Parking on the square can be a bit challenging at times so the dedicated pick up spaces are wonderful for zipping in or picking up curb side. read more

This place is amazing. We have been in Rockwall for a year and hadn't tried it because it is always so full. Finally we decided to do the wait and try it. I can see why it is always so busy. There hasn't been one item that wasn't amazing. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because you have to have 6 or more to do a reservation and we have 5. The problem with that is the tables large enough for our family of 5 get reserved for parties of 6 so we always have to fit 5 into a 4 seater table and it's super cramped. read more

Small seating area yet efficient staff. Always seems crowded during lunch and dinner. Typically order a drink at the bar while waiting to be seated. They take reservations for parties of 5+ only. They also installed sound dampeners on the walls/ceiling to keep the echo noise down. The Sea Bass is amazing! Also be on the lookout for their weekly specials posted on the wall. Always great food and great service. I've never eaten anything I didn't like. Favorites are pizza, blue crab dip, and Bananas Foster. Very dissapointed in my recent visit to Zanata. The service and sadly our meal (minus the always delish crab dip) was not like it used to be. Our pizzas were doughy and undercooked -- not the crisp, bubbling, wood fire kissed versions they used to serve. I bit into a completely raw onion and they were all over the pizza -- in the past they've been beautifully caramelized. It was disgusting and ruined my appetite but the waiter did take it off our bill. However, looking around at surrounding tables -- all the pizzas were soggy and soft looking. It seems like the popularity has become their downfall and the quality is taking a back seat to churn out more tables. We won't be back again and this used to be one of my favs! read more

This place is insanely good. The worst thing is the long wait time if you don't go at an off hour. The Sunday chicken is my dish, but that's crazy because chicken dishes aren't usually my thing.
