Amazing! Everything here is amazing, from the food to the drinks. I recommend their crab dip, salmon, and their house sangria.

First off, our waitress Jessica was a delight. Personable and very attentive. I ordered caprese salad as an appetizer and my husband got the tomato basil soup. Both were excellent. The freshness of both dishes was refreshing. It was nice to be able to taste the individual ingredients and not be overwhelmed by flavor, rather having the flavor build as we enjoyed our dishes. Jessica recommended the sea bass, which my husband got, and I ordered the steak Diane. Again both dishes were excellent. The fish was cooked to perfection! Along with the cherry chutney, it was really to die for. Melted right in your mouth. The steak Diane was great, but I kept stealing fish from my husbands plate! You can tell that the head chef genuinely has a passion for food. We will DEFINITELY be back. I'd give ten stars if I could. I hade not eaten here in several years until this week. I was extremely pleased with the lunch menu. The soup was excellent. The spinach salad very tasty and fresh. The chicken club was a bit on the dry side but some additional mayo would solve that. I want to try the chicken Alfredo soon. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Delicious crab + crack cocaine x magic fire = Zanata's blue crab dip. You could serve this shit in a well loved tube sock with particleboard crackers for dipping and it would still be amazing. Seriously, order it, or miss out on a fantastical party in your mouth, it's quite simple. Ok, so I'm clearly a true believer in the BCD (and acronyms, apparently). It's definitely one of the best options on their menu, transcending the appetizer category. Their other offerings are pretty solid: pizzas aren't anything groundbreaking, but are reasonably priced and have a good array of "gourmet" toppings. The wine selection seems decent to me (not a real wine fan), but they do have some stellar beers on draught: Maredsous, Stella and Spaten Optimator, say whaaaaat! Salads are ginormous and they have a heavy hand when it comes to adding dressing. Less is more, kiddos, ease up on that shit, I don't want to drown in my salad bowl. Still, I like the variety of options there: the spinach and gorgonzola with pears om nom nom, and the arugula with honey, goat cheese etc. If you stick with an appetizer and salad or split a pizza with a lovah, you'll have more than enough food to tide you over, in my humble, but accurate opinion. You'll also avoid paying out the ass for some of their other entrees which are exxxpensive and wouldn't attain the excellent of the BCD anyway. I was meeting a friend for lunch in Rockwall earlier this week and she recommended this place. I didn't check out the Yelp reviews before I went, but she raved about it and I tried not to set my expectations too high. Turns out that I was really impressed by this cute little restaurant in downtown! I'm not the biggest fan of wood-fired or coal-fired pizzas. Most places I've tried just don't do it right and I end up with a pizza charred to hell on the bottom. Even the big name places in Dallas, I've just never been impressed enough to even think about returning. I wasn't expecting anything different here. My friend suggested we get the Mighty Quinn and the spinach and gorgonzola salad. It's sooooooo good, she said. Done. Salad was awesome. The Gorgonzola perfectly contrasted the sweetness of the dates, apple slices, and grape halves. My friend wasn't kidding when she said the salad was huge. I'm pretty confident it was entire big bag of spinach, but it was awesome. The Mighty Quinn didn't disappoint either. Crust had a great texture and flavor, and Zanata excels more than most others by getting the bottom perfectly cooked without overdoing it too much. Instead of a mouthful of char, the crust complimented the toppings. Great flavor profile with the prosciutto, sausage slices, pepperoni, onions, and hot peppers. It was damn delicious. For the pizza and the enormous salad, our total was about $29. Not too shabby for a nice lunch out Service here was impeccable. Our waiter was extremely nice and attentive while giving us time to look over the menu. He even took the time to smile and talk to my friend's little boy. All around, this place is fantastic. We had dinner here around 6pm on a Friday night. We came to stay on the lake for a little "staycation" over July 4th weekend. Neither of us knew much about Rockwall and were relying on our apps and Google searches to lead our way. My husband chose Zanata based on the reviews and I wanted to check out the little downtown area it is in. From the moment we walked in the door, we knew we had made the right choice. The design is perfect, rustic and old world mixed so well with new - they blended the older building in perfectly with a modern European vibe. Effortlessly comfortable and cozy but just the right amount of class. This place would easily fit in Soho in NYC but I'm so glad they did this in downtown Rockwall! Our waitress was spectacular, warm and friendly and really knew her way around the menu. We were also visited by a few of the family members that own the place throughout our dinner, just to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Extremely nice touch, considering how busy they were. The food was perfection. Seriously, the best food I have put in my mouth in ages. THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD BE WHEN YOU EAT OUT. Truly, this is what we always hope for but are typically disappointed somehow when we dine out. I told our waitress we were never leaving. I was so serious I probably scared her. I started with asking for help with the wine menu as I don't drink often and am certainly no expert. She recommended the "Locations AR, Mendoza" blend since I like South American reds and blends a lot. It was excellent - so excellent I wrote it down. We ordered the Spinach & Gorgonzola salad and Blue Crab Dip to start. The salad was huge and so fresh, the cheese a perfect tart addition to the fruits. The crab dip was to die for. Seriously, get the crab dip if you have to choose one. He ordered the Standard pizza and I ordered the Sea Bass with the cherry-lemon marmalade.... Oh. My. Gosh. I wanted to lay my face in it. The sauce was heaven, the fish cooked to perfection. The pizza was just as delicious !! For dessert we shared the bananas foster. We did not think the dessert could be better than the food. This is what desserts are supposed to taste like. So gooey and rich and who doesn't like a presentation like that?? Unbelievable how decadent this dessert is. I do not have words to adequately describe our overall experience. I feel like perfect just doesn't do it. If there is something better than perfect, then that is what Zanata is. I went to Zanata with my family tonight, and I loved that there was something for everyone here. Absolutely delightful. Also, they are officially expanding, which is wonderful. Sounds like they'll be better able to accommodate the large crowds and hopefully eliminate some of that wait time. My family ordered two pizzas (looked fantastic!), and my mom and I ordered a salad each. She got the Greek salad, and I got a Spinach and Gorgonzola salad... absolutely amazing and HUGE! Those were definitely no appetizer. I got a lot for $8. I'd also recommend a glass of their Riesling. The only thing that might have influenced me to rate the restaurant lower was the service tonight; mediocre. But the food more than made up for it, and I will definitely return. I have no complaints other than I should have ordered a plate by myself instead of going with the moderation theme of halfsies. Started with the blue crab dip. I thought it was okay but others liked it. I opted for it after I read so many Yelpers raving about it. Elected to go with the house salad and it was a great choice.I wasn't sure initially because I don't like sweet salads but maybe I need to reevaluate that snap judgment. The salads are served in large portions which made it perfect for sharing. For entrees we went with the Sea Bass and the Supremo. That Sea Bass was delectable and unforgettable. we shared it but from the first bite I vowed to return to enjoy it singularly on my own. It was seared just right which made for a perfect lightly crisp crust and the meat was like butter. The demi-glace was equally impressive just like the veggies that circled around the fish. The dish was just damn solid people. The Supremo was a nice combination. I like the crust a lot which is a super important factor. I thought it was good pizza...nice and light in flavor which speaks to its quality of ingredients...though the bass was the super star tonight. Ended with key lime cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake. Heaven! There are no words guys. I did not know...I could not conceive a better ending. Absolutely wonderful meal. I can't really explain why it's taken me so long to patron this fine Rockwall establishment. I don't know and frankly what's more important is that I know NOW. Omg this place is so amazing! Came here with coworkers on a work trip and our taste buds literally went to heaven! This place is super adorable and located right in downtown so there is plenty of charm to it. The wait was suppose to be 45 minutes, but they were pretty quick seating people so we really only waited about 15-20 minutes. The staff is super friendly and personable and the inside decor is pretty gorgeous and has a pretty rustic greek/italian feel to it. Drinks - We all got a round of peach sangrias and wow they tasted so good! Strong enough to get you a loose, but also had a delicious flavor. My second drink was the berry bomb mojito and it was equally delicious. Both drinks were around $6-9 so pretty reasonable. Appetizer - We shared our appetizers so we could get a couple and very greatful we did! The "Z" house salad was a very yummy salad. The mix between yummy candied pistachios and creamy goat cheese really made this salad stand out. We also had the crab-stuffed avocados and WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW OMG too good. Direct quote from my coworker - "I just had a foodgasm". The crab and avocado mixed with the cream they provided just melts in your mouth with so much delicious flavor that afterwards you cry a little bit because you know it has to end ;( Food - We all had our own pizzas and they were all pretty yummy in their own unique way. I had the goat cheese and fig pizza and it was great. I took the leftovers home and In the morning I was in a rush to leave, but I still made time to microwave my leftover and eat it while leaving the hotel :D In general, this place is amazing and everyone should go if they are in the area. There was a sweet sauce on top which was a little over powering, but good in all. The pizza had a thin crust and was cooked perfectlys well. Crisp wood fire crust gave it added depth that can't compare to regular pizza. Hubby and I both got swordfish as an entree and it was seasoned perfectly. Beautiful presentation with purple potatoes and asparagus that added a burst of color to the dish. Our son got the chicken Alfredo and he said he would totally get it again. Rockwall's best kept secret and one of my all-time favorite places to eat! Zanata's cozy, upbeat atmosphere and outstanding gourmet has this placed packed every time I visit. The most popular thing to get here seems to be their handcrafted, wood-fired pies. We have experienced them with anything from sundried tomatoes and prosciutto to red grapes and smoked chicken. Each time more delicious than the last (literally). Zanata has a rustic menu that changes daily capitalizing on the season's best local ingredients....Oh and did I mention gelato? The good: The staff is knowledgeable, experienced and can always suggest the perfect wine to go with any dish. I cannot imagine anyone ever being in the least bit disappointed with this place. The not so good: It seems as though I'm not the only person who thinks so highly of this place. Every time I've visited there has been at least a thirty minute wait.
